Costa Coffee in Caerphilly

Despite it's rather gloomy interior (it is a long cafe with restricted light getting in, this is a decent place for a coffee.

As always a lovely friendly welcome from the staff at Costa. Lovely coffee and great atmosphere. Thankyou. I will be back!

Always have to wait ages to get served. On this occasion, only I was waiting, but the person serving just ignored me. Finally, she served me but made me feel like I was an inconvenience. Tables not cleared. Very disappointing.

It’s the season of ill will in Costa!! I met up with a friend for a coffee and got fined for my trouble!! In these times of financial hardship Costa is clearly not too bothered about retaining its customers as fining its patrons doesn’t feel like a smart marketing ploy!! Costa please read the room buying a coffee is a luxury, you won’t have any customers left!!

what a sad state of affairs when you meet friends and stay for 2 coffees each and find your 17mins past your parking time and end up with a £100 parking fine just like the cost of their coffee a total rip off starbucks much better anyway

Typical Costa outlet with pleasant staff and the usual menu. The place seemed a little less cared for than you'd expect, but still a good place to visit.

Nice coffee shop till we were told it closes at 5. After we just sat down with coffee. My daughter wanted to feed my grandson, but we had yo rush. Wish they said before we ordered then we could of gone elsewhere rather than an expensive 5 minute rush coffee. Lots of dirty tables in fact most where left dirty and full. Even though shop was quiet.

Had a lovely ice tea and my husband had a caramel frappe. Both delicious

Although this is a smaller Costa we still managed to get a seat just before lunch time. There’s a few tables outside as well. The cake selection wasn’t that great, but service was fine.

Love this place. Friendly staff, consistent good coffee. Usually a flat white though known to have the occasional cortado. Love the 'regulars' that visit as well as new friends. Saw some comments about quality and smoke coming through doors. I always sit towards the front to be nosey and people watch. Have never experienced this in 2 years. Only issue is door stays ajar about an inch if pushed or pulled opened, so can be chilly if windy outside. No issues otherwise. Would reccomend.

Only had a coffee but as always lovely.

Popped in for a coffee as my usual indepenant coffee shop was not open, I ordered an Americano, wish I hadn't bothered, it was not very good. The atmosphere is not good, the smell of smoke wafting in everytime the door opens is very unpleasant; no return for me I'm afraid, will be visiting my usual idepenant coffee shop who care what they serve you and you even get a smile.

Still a great place to go for a cuppa or snack, the staff are brilliant but it's all about the taste everyone should pop in to buy a drink and cake the shields have now come down so its so much more personalised service whenthe weather is nice enjoy a take away and bin your rubbish

Staff a bit abrupt and grumpy. Seating very limited

Miserable staff ( due to COVID Perhaps) Untidy premises. Coffee or chocolate always lukewarm. It’s always our last port of call if everywhere else is full. The Costa outlet near Macdonalds is a far nicer place.

The costas in Caerphilly town is ok I rather off going to the one by the the McDonald's

Went to buy some muffin and a cold drink in costa and one lady served me. The customer service is very bad and not very professional. Lady was miserable and just Throw my drink on the counter. Bad attitude and a bad service overall , rather buy my coffee in greggs.

Costa is probably my fave outlet for my regular caffeine fix. Great, consistent products from friendly professional staff

Thought we would treat ourselves today and try one of the festive treats so we went for the purple one latte which is £3.99 by the way but we thought oh well it's a treat after all so the young girl who served us was so miserable and never smiled or was polite in anyway shape or form so I ordered our drinks only then to be told that they had no cream for the topping I'm not being funny but if you are going to pay prices like this for a coffee at least have all the trimmings to go with it and it would off been nice to have a service with a smile,please and thank you wish I had just gone to greggs for half the price and a happier atmosphere 👎🙄

Been a while but was nice to go in an sit down with a lovely coffee

No reflection on the over-worked one lad working behind the counter, we had to stand for ages, getting more and more stressed, for our order was prepared whilst he served other people. Not good enough when you consider the amount they charge you!

Great but they should have more staff, poor guy in there alone quite a big queue but he was friendly and working as fast as possible.

I ordered an oat milk iced latte and ended up having a latte with whole milk. Now I feel extremely ill.

The staff here are fantastic and the coffee is pretty good. The clientele are what lets this place down. On the many occasions I've been here, I've experienced rude customers to staff because they couldn't sit inside due to current restrictions.

No toast 🙄 before 11am. Repeating everything, due to machine noise and safety barriers and masks.

Looking forward to it opening inside from 17/5/21

Lovely staff, and a well organised Covid safety system. The coffee beans they use could do with improvement given their price, but that's the case throughout the whole Costa company!

Coffee ok, staff were lovely, but marked down as only small cups able to be sold due to no stock of medium or large

Didn’t have what they said was available at the store when I ordered through their app, so was given food of a similar value. Range of Christmas Hot Drinks are very delicious.

Went in with my family to buy festive drinks only 2 staff in shop they could not keep up with customers continuously pulling face coverings down to talk to each other then shouted at customers to move back as shop was getting too full I understand the 2 metre issue because of covid but there should have been more staff on hand to sort out the queuing system then once we had paid over £18 on 3 drinks I went to drink my festive after 8 hot chocolate ro find it was cold and my wife's drink was also cold guess I won't be visiting Costa for a while if again not the first time this Costa has fallen below standards ill stick ti the drive through one in caerphilly in future much better service and hot drinks to go too sorry but wouldn't rate a 1 star for this visit this time but had to put at least a star on for me too leave this review.

Excellent service and fantastic customer experience

Sunday morning, ordered via the app, part of the order missing as they didn't have some stuff. But worker was on her own and doing her best. Lovely service but seems silly, not to mention dangerous to have her their on her own! Only time I've ever had a problem mind so sure it's a one-off!

Have visited this costa frequently since covid and time to get through the drive thru is always high but today took 40mins. When I got to the window one staff member apologised they didn’t have the staff. I feel for the staff but whoever is managing the store is doing so poorly as it is constantly slow & I see multiple people turning round before too late so business is being lost.

Am trying to stay loyal to this place but am now joining the dozens of ex regulars who are fed up with dirty tables, cigarette smoke (from staff), rude staff, and reduced opening hours. Voting with my feet like many and drinking in Esquires. My family have had enough.

On shopping in the area I was caught short and had to use the loo urgently. So I called into Costas in Caerphilly precinct to ask if I could use there toilet and explained that I am disabled, a fact testified by my walking aid, and I was told I'd have to buy something first but I would have to join the end of the line to do so. I had to leave Costa to quickly find another available loo. To my embarrassment, I didn't Make it. Before lockdown I was on, occasion, a customer of Costa but will never go there again.

Appalling breakfast deal - could not bite into bacon bap as it was far too hard. Microscopic portion of bacon. Very disappointed!

Costa new drive thru Caerphilly, worse ever customer service ever. Waited 20 minutes to get served as x3 staff served 1 customer. When I commented to manager that this was not good customer service I was told to leave and never return. I assured him that I had no intentions whatsoever of returning. In my opinion when you have 8 persons waiting to be served and the 3 staff just chat and have a no urgency attitude , it’s not good enough. The attitude of the manager that you should just accept it with no criticism is again unacceptable. If you offer criticism when you’ve waited for 20 minutes, your asked to leave and not to come back. If this is the attitude and ethics of Costa coffee (Costa lot for coffee) then happily I will take my custom elsewhere. When you have a good product , good customer service to sell it is imperative. Sadly Caerphilly drive thru sadly lacks in customer care. Endorsed by its manager. Glanmores and greggs streets ahead in their customer service and satisfaction.

Prefer to go to Glanmores. It is so off putting when everytime we visit we have to 'hold our breath' to pass the smokers. I thought there was a rule that smoking area had to be certain distance from entrance?? You can only sit outside if you are a smoker.

Slow service and order half correct. We regularly come here because there are few places open in the town on a Sunday afternoon and things like this seem to be a common trend.

Needs a clean. Short staffed when we went, 3.30 to 4.30 in afternoon.

Great Costa Coffee place with the usual costa drinks, snacks and overall food. The staff are friendly and helpful but you might have to bring a little patience with you. The store is clean and tidy and has plenty of seating both inside and out (more seating inside than out of course).

One costa is much like any other. Not my favourite but not my worst.
