Nice place to spend time in, charming trattoria, live piano

Gluten free penne was amazing and the service was excellent!

We had just come from the museum, so this place was conveniently close. We came in not knowing what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised to find great pizza, and the pasta was fantastic as well. We also appreciated the really friendly host.

My aunt, sister, and I came here for a meal on our vacation from the states while staying at a hotel nearby. It was a wonderful meal. The cheeses were especially creamy and good compared to the states. The salad was fantastic with mozzarella, avocado, and tomato. My aunt had the Alfredo ravioli. I had the smoked salmon fettuccine. My sister had the grilled fish. All entries were fresh and clearly homemade. We had desserts and wine as well which were equally good. We heard the live piano at the end which was beautiful. The owners clearly love their restaurant and try to give a beautiful experience for all diners. At the end we were given complementary lemoncello shots. My aunt that’s been to Italy many times said it was the best she’s had. Highly recommend this restaurant!

We made a reservation here for our first evening in London, and then liked it enough that we went back a second time. Great Italian food! Very casual but everything was nice quality, service was great, many choices on menu, friendly people. We went to another Italian restaurant at one point which was not nearly so nice. This is a great spot!

We were made very welcome, the pizzas and pastas were delicious. We enjoyed ourselves. All accompanied by a talented pianist. A great dinner! Thank you very much it was our last evening in London and it was perfect.

Too expensive for food which is not fresh. Would not recommend. To respond to your comment: Hi Trattoria Verdi, Appreciate the response—but I have to be honest, the experience didn’t match the standards you’re claiming. The pasta wasn’t fresh (you could taste it in the fettuccine—waterlogged—and the spaghetti had gone hard in the olio, likely from drying after being pre-cooked). That really affected the whole meal. It’s not just about average London prices—it’s about quality. If you’re charging that much, the food needs to reflect it. I hope this is taken constructively, because it really could be better. Not bad for an Italian in London to make it more Italian they should reduce the use of garlic and sauces, if you ask anyway they won't serve them.

Well located, pleasant restaurant. Excellent service and tasty food. We had garlic bread, lovely lasagne, meatballs and tortellini and deserts. Recommended

Friendly restaurant, the service is impeccable but the quality of the dishes leaves a little to be desired but makes up for it with the desserts which are delicious

Great pasta! We took spaghetti carbonara and spaghetti with meatballs, they were both delicious: not overcooked, rich sauces, flavory and balanced. Staff is very friendly. The place has a vibe of some kind of a family restaurant in a basement in a small town in Italy (never been to Italy though, so can't tell for sure). That means that the design is very far from stylish, modern and minimalistic, but it doesn't look bad. Two things we didn't like about the service. First, booking a table is a challenge, they don't have this option on a web site, and on the phone it was so noisy that I had to scream. Second, they didn't leave the Parmigianino cheese on the table, just sprinkled our dished and took it away. When we understood that we want more, I had to go to the bar and ask a waiter to bring it again and sprinkle it on our dishes one more time. It was quite got inside. There was an option to seet outside, but it's close to the road, so cars are driving and people are walking right beside you, so not very comfortable.

The spaghetti is delicious and the service is friendly. The tomato sauce was so delicious that I drank it all down! However, the disappointing thing is that some of the clams had a fishy taste. The staff were friendly, and I especially liked the young female server who responded with ease. But overall, it was hectic and burdensome because many employees took turns coming in and asking questions too often. I think it would be good to wait a little while. Still, I am overall satisfied as the store atmosphere is nice and the food is delicious!

Worst lasagna I’ve ever had. The manager was friendly

Food was generally ok but nasty little scam goes on where they bring the bill and it says tip not included but if you check the items & add it up you will notice that they have included a service charge. When you go to pay then they will either add a service charge on or ask for it if your paying cash thereby getting 2 service charges. Talk about sleight of hand. Such a shame they let themselves down with this devious little trick as otherwise it’s quite a nice little place . Just be sure to CHECK YOUR BILL ( & by the way it’s not a one off as I’ve been here several times and they always do it but it has become very annoying )

I love this place. Every time I visit London I try to make at least one visit to this restaurant. Lovely welcoming staff with friendly faces & chat . Last nights piano player added extra charm to the atmosphere. Goes without saying that the food is lovely . Last night we had a Scottish smoked Salmon for a shared starter followed by a pizza that was bigger than the plate it sat on for me & wife had spaghetti bolognaise. Both plentiful a flavoursome with a large glass of red wine which for a house wine tasted lovely . Reasonable price in London & left feeling full & happy . Might try for another visit before I go home !!! Highly recommended if you’re in the Holborn area .

You could also give 6 stars everywhere. The pizza and the food in general was super tasty, there were 6 of us there. Spontaneously and it came at the same time, tasty and perfectly prepared The atmosphere was great, there was live piano music in the evenings.. Despite the stress and tasks, the boss always had a smile and talked to everyone and showed that he does it with passion and joy.. I can highly recommend it and enjoy it

Fettuccine Alfredo with salmon was to die for. Best Alfredo sauce I’ve ever had. Tiramisu was incredible as well.

Had a great dinner at verdi this week, staff were amazing!! However, mid eating, we heard the boss scolding the workers about beer. Later, we heard the boss then shouting at staff in the kitchen, which not only was unprofessional, but it ruined the atmosphere of restaurant.

The food, pizza to share and a chicken Kiev, was lovely, piping hot. Service was quick and friendly. I was taken back by the price of a pint of beer though, nearly £8, £9 for one glas of wine, now that's taking the michael, and for that reason alone, I wouldn't go back. I know it's London, but it doesn't make it right.

I had the best time at this restaurant. It had a very nice vintage Italian vibe. The live piano just added to the incredible atmosphere and our waiter Tomas was the best person I’ve ever met. Please come here.

Coming from the US living near the NYC area where we have excellent Italian food, this would rival the classic long standing Italian restaurants. Ambiance is awesome, they have a piano player, service is excellent and the food was so fresh and good. Highly recommend if you are craving Italian in London. Seems like it’s a hidden gem in the holborn area. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Prices are extremely reasonable for quality food. If you want authentic Italian this is your spot.

I recently dined at this restaurant and it was pretty good. The moment I walked in, there was a cosy ambiance, with soft lighting and lovely decorations. The background music that was played on the piano was beautiful whilst eating the food. The menu offered a solid selection of dishes. The meal I had chosen was perfectly cooked and truly reminded me of my Italian mother's cooking. However, I did have one issue during my visit. While the service was generally attentive, the waiter with the short buzz cut type hair who attended to our table had an unpleasant odor. It was a bit distracting and took away from the otherwise enjoyable experience, so much so, my partner had to go to the bathroom on multiple occasions to avoid the stench . Overall, the food and atmosphere were exceptional, and I would recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a great meal, just hoping they address the staff hygiene for a more complete experience.

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! I ordered a classic Margherita pizza, and it exceeded my expectations. The crust was perfectly baked—crispy on the outside yet soft and airy on the inside. The tomato sauce was rich and full of flavor, and the fresh mozzarella melted beautifully, creating the perfect balance of taste and texture. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making sure everything was just right. Nice place. Server didn't seem to understand English very well. I ordered white wine, she brought red. I told her I ordered white, and she looked at me like she didn't understand. Otherwise, food was excellent, and live piano music was great.

Fantastic meal - came in on a whim off the street, was welcomed by staff and Silvia very kindly and the meal was fantastic. Highly recommend the olive oil and chilli pasta. The live music was a lovely touch.

First time eating here and it did not disappoint! Our server's name was Dharmik. The service was great. Dharmik was very friendly, attentive, and gave great recommendations. Very short wait time for the food. The Spaghetti Carbonara and Pene all'Amatriciana were molto bene and so flavorful. The pasta was cooked exactly how it should be. The dessert was similar to tiramisu but with fruit - mouthwatering good! Will definitely eat here again and highly recommend it if you are looking for great Italian cuisine.

The food was okay but the portions were very very small, for the tortelloni al sugo you get only 6 pieces which was crazy for almost 18 pounds. The arrabbiata dish was 80% sauce with some pasta. It was very hard to get the attention of the waiters and they sadly weren’t overly friendly. The staff were also shouting at each other and arguing in the middle of the restaurant which made the atmosphere very uncomfortable. After all of this at the end we were asked if we wanted to tip which we normally do but didn’t this time.

Ordered a takeaway pizza. Changed it alittle wirh some extra ham. Cost 18,25. a little exspensive. But the dough and pizza was really good. Service was good. Nice people working there

My father and his wife visited us from the USA and we happend apon this quaint restaurant by our hotel. We had the most amazing experience here, the food was unbelievably good and the atmosphere was fantastic. The best part was the people, Sylvia especially. Obviously a family run restaurant and they do a great job! They made my dads last night with us in London very special. Definitely recommend and will return in the future

I came here today with my friend, his mother and my mother. I was devastated, as I was celebrating before the beginning of some exams, but I was met with some foul maltreatment from the staff. After the wrong meals had arrived, one of the staff rudely took all the food from the table before bringing it all back cold. This was not impressive, until me and my friends carbonara arrived after around 3/4 of an hour. To be frank, it made me feel sick. The sauce was not as the menu had promised, but liquidy. It is optimistic to even call it sauce at that, considering it was essentially just flavoured water. That was not the worst of it, as the pepper granules were large and ungrounded and the bacon was bordering uncooked. Despite one of the female staff being sociable and kind, the rest of the staff were ignorant and unempathetic to everyone on our table. Unfortunately, everything we had looked forward to in this outing was ruined, and I am worried for the safety of my stomach. Overall - Disgusted.

I called in to order a vegetarian pizza to take away and decided to have a small glass of red wine while I waited. Staff were welcoming. Lovely piano playing and the stone baked pizza was delicious with a soft crust. Absolutely would go back. Will eat in next time.

The service was out of this world. We had the best waiter. It was late on a weeknight and he was so attentive and wanted our experience to be too notch. The woman invited us in with kind arms and said she would serve us. And we felt so welcome. We were very grateful! Delightful tortellini and yummy mousse. Check out the trolley of desserts! A autentic restaurant with an Italian cozy vibe with nice live music. Food was great and the service was even better. If I would describe I would say that it felt like i was in a small italian village at a resturant that was owned by my grandmother.

It seems like a family run business, the staff Silvia is very warm and welcoming. We came around Valentine’s Day and the decorations are adorable, filled with balloons on lamps and roses on the table. And the live piano was like a cherry on top. Food was also delicious and gives a feel like an Italian home. Definitely will come back.
