An excellent restaurant. Loads of staff who are very efficient and friendly. The service, . food and wine were top notch. I advise booking at weekend. In summer they seek to have an outside bar which looks excellent. Highly recommend .

I'm so sorry to to give this star rating. However, we have been three times previous as well as today. The surroundings are absolutely stunning. The staff were professional if you could actually get their attention. I had to leave the table to speak to someone because my wife's red wine was so bitter. Granted a gentleman did open a fresh bottle at our table. Sadly the food itself let everything down for us. My wife had octopus. I understand that octopus is mainly membrane, but it was so tough and over rubbery. I know this is not the usual standard as I have had it before and it was perfectly beautiful. I had the pesctorie. It was genously filled with seafood. However it was unnecessarily over loaded with spaghetti. The dish was beautiful. Why overload? Quality over Quantity. Also I understand as a business owner that a profit has to be made. However, £11 for a glass of wine is unacceptable. We felt so let down and out of pocket. £80, and left deflated.

I have heard that tips are shared to only the italians, is this true????????????¿????????????????????????????????

First time going for my sons birthday. We went late on a Monday evening it was quiet which suited us kids enjoyed playing outside and my eldest ate everything on the plate which he never usually does. Service was a little slow and staff didn't smile much but overall excellent place will definitely go again.

Visited recently for the first time and very impressed with the decor and surroundings. It was a little noisy inside however but the food was simply outstanding. It looked fantastic and tasted amazing and cannot rate it highly enough.

Been to San Marco quite a few times now but never reviewed. It’s a lovely big restaurant and looks the part. Very good food and service every time we’ve been with friends or family. Never a long wait for food and the lunch time deal is excellent

Nice place , nice playing area for children. Unfortunately the staff were slow and seemed moody, aloof and disengaged. Limited veggie options, basically pasta or pizza, limited main meal options . Very expensive.

Thoroughly enjoyable evening. Had time for a drink before being shown to our table. Although the place was busy the service was excellent. Avocado, mozzarella & bacon salad for starter, which was delicious, then lamb shank which was cooked to perfection Highly recommend

Great venue very smart, starter was brilliant. Ordered pizza for mains very very average. Order the dialovo as if made pizza then added a few pieces of sausage. Another guest had mushroom and ham again very average.One of our party had lasagne ate some of it sent ut back, she said she's been there before and it was well below the usual standard. Would I go back sorry but no, very average been to much better.

Had a delicious two course lunch but the service became slower and slower as the afternoon went on. Some of the party would have ordered coffee but decided it was quicker to go home and make it ourselves!

Food a little overpriced for what it is. Our pizzas were quite hard to eat and cut but can't fault the service.

Food was good but as part of a bigger chain I'd say Angelo's is a touch better. Service was good but not mind blowing however it is an excellent setting and beautiful restaurant. Just think Angelo's has the edge personally but had a good meal and would return.

A disappointing experience. It's obviously changed management since I last visited, and the experience was disappointing to say the least, not helped at all by who I'm assuming was the manager... More about that later... The service was slow, it wasn't busy, and the staff were regularly just standing around - especially the "manager" who appeared to do nothing by but stand by the till and collect payments, still more about her later... The food was underwhelming. The lasagna was dry and overcooked, and the chocolate fudge cake, that they made a fuss about asking whether we wanted it warmed or cold, I said warmed, the waiter repeated it back, yet it was cold. That was just my food, there were 7 others dining but I won't comment on their food. The staff weren't that attentive, they never came over to ask if everything was okay as most places do, even as they were clearing the plates they didn't ask if everything had been okay. Now for the manager... I've never known such a miserable person front-of-house! As I've mentioned she appeared to do nothing for the whole time we were there, and she was in my line of sight the whole time... Which didn't give a good impression... She never smiled, which cast a cloud of doom and gloom the whole time. When I went to pay the bill she still didn't smile, nor did she speak... Until she put the bill in front of me and told me the amount. No "how was your meal?" or any pleasantries like that... Just misery... The only other thing she said was "do you want a receipt?" Overall a disappointing experience, and I'm not planning on going back any time soon. In comparison, the previous manager was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and used to float around the restaurant making sure everything was okay, and actually got to know people, especially regular visitors. As a result, the staff were friendlier and followed suit.

Food was nice but expensive. online prices are not same as when you're there. The dishes we picked were all £5 more in the restaurant. If you don't like it loud whilst eating then book a table in smaller room.

Lovely food as always. Staff very polite and friendly. Today they seemed to forget about our main meal but , when reminded, were very apologetic. I love coming to San Marco.

Good food and friendly staff. From Starter to dessert everything exceptional.

We shared a spicy garlic bread initially then I had chicken livers to start and slow cooked beef as main. The food was ok but nothing to write home about and not as good as it has been in the past. My favourite was the garlic bread which was actually very nice.

Excellent food, would only be able to use for special occasions though due to price, but the food was worth it.

Our Daughter was heading off to join the Navy and chose San Marco as her leaving family meal restaurant. We were a group of 9 booked in for 7.30pm on a Friday. We were greeted well and shown to our table quite quickly. Overall the food was good albeit a couple of issues with a starter and a main course (came nearly 10 mins after everyone else’s). Being a Friday the service was a little slow but not an issue for us as we were not in any rush. Overall an enjoyable evening but wouldn’t rush to return.

Very busy venue, second visit, good food and not long to wait considering we had the table booked for 7.45 on a Saturday night and the place was full.

We come here after looking for a Italian restaurant in Preston, it was lovely and clean no faults on that, however there was a lot of staff (we were early 5pm-6pm so I’m aware they’re needed for when it gets busy) but they were standing round doing nothing, when I asked where the toilets were the man I asked was quite rude. When my boyf asked for a takeaway box they were also quite rude. The waitresss couldn’t understand we wanted the food altogether even after saying 5 times. Asked twice for the card machine whilst the staff standing round doing nothing. The older woman on the desk also very blunt when she couldn’t find our booking. The beautiful lady in the long skirt with the brown hair was the only nice lady in there. And also the girl with a bun & brown hair and the older gent. Onto the food- the pizza was so hard to cut, I got spicy salami and wasn’t remotely spicy. Can’t say it tasted of much which was quite gutting :( my boyf got a pasta that was like 5 large tubes of pasta and pulled pork in a tomato sauce, again tasteless :( garlic bread wasn’t tasty either. Nicest thing we got really was the fries. One thing I noticed is the food didn’t get a check back on so we didn’t get the chance to ask for anything else like chilli flakes to help it taste of something. I’d return if I was passing maybe and was desperate but other than that I wouldn’t return.

Arrived on spur of moment not dressed for dinner after walking all day. The staff couldn't do enough for us. The food & service were both excellent .

Starters were wonderful thankyou. Although not served together. Mine and my husband's mains were cold, which were returned, mine were returned ok but my husband's had to be returned again. The waitress was miserable and rude when I told her to smile whilst leaving she laughed at me!! She needs to be trained how to behave around customers. Mains weren't served together either. Our Son requested sweets for my husband's special birthday but they didn't appear. Very dissapointing evening we will NOT be back. We have just spent a lot of money!!

Great atmosphere with plenty of buzz, the staff are well presented, helpful and friendly. There was a wide variety of choice and the food was very nicely presented and tasted even better, quality produce and great value for money.

A lovely place and a tasty pizza 🍕 Oh by the way, their Ice cream is just amazing!!! We will definitely visit them again, or their chain of sibling restaurants. Here we go, we visited again today and enjoyed more varieties or both the main course and their lovely desserts.

Can't fault this place. Food was tasty and the service was excellent. I look forward to returning.

First visit but we were not disappointed and already planning to return. Car parking was a breeze, although it was a Tuesday evening so that may assisted as it wasn't mad busy inside. Nice and bright table areas. Staff very attentive without being too much in your face. The food was excellent. The cost is what you would expect to pay in the current financial climate. It isn't a cheap night out but there again yiu get what you pay for. Will definitely visit again.

Visited as a table of 6, on a Saturday evening. Very busy, which meant a good atmosphere in the restaurant. Food was excellent. Service was a little slow, probably due to how busy it was, not to the point where we were bothered by this.

What can i say? The food here gets better every time i visit! The Surf ‘n’ Turf and Tournedos Rossini are both to die for! The staff are all amazing and welcoming. Stefan in particular goes above and beyond for you as a customer. Atmosphere is great & child friendly no matter what day or time. Lucky to have this place basically on my doorstep!

I would not recommend anyone even stepping a foot in this place, food is below average, not what you expect for the price of the food, the managers don’t have a care in the world for there customers. Stay well away.

A large party of us for a birthday lunch. Not been here since lockdown so was looking forward to revisiting. Most of us went for the 2 course menu for approx £18 - which has risen by about £5 since we last visited but hasn't everything. The service was friendly and decent. The food was really nicely presented and was full of flavour. The food was excellent. Will definitely be returning soon.

Wow what amazing food. We took some friends for lunch first time we'd been and the food was superb we'll definitely be back.

Main meals were good - seafood risotto and salt and pepper ribeye. However we did not enjoy the deserts - tiramisu and meringue:/ Not a very intimate or cousy place. Open space plan, gets ready loud to the point in its hard to communicate. The view to the carpark, could be improved with some larger plants.

Driven by many times, but never previously eaten here, despite the car park often being tellingly full. Very modest-looking from the outside, and on entering, the modern, sparkly-clean decor is a genuine surprise, as are the large interior spaces. Warmly greeted by the hostess, the place was buzzing at 6pm on a Saturday evening, with scarcely an empty table and lots of chattering groups. There's a busy vibe here (in a good way) that you don't encounter outside of a big city. It's not cheap, and the portions aren't huge, but it's tasty, quality food, lovingly made and well-presented, so still represents good value. Starters were varied, quick and tasty, pizzas were large and relatively cheap, mains and specials become pricey but worth the splurge. Staff were very attentive and friendly, without hovering, and commendable that our large group order was served without a hitch. Check out the menu & prices so you know what to expect, although you might want to skip dessert. Highly recommended. 5⭐

The management of this place is shocking. Firstly, the what seems to be the managers of this place scream at their staff infront of customers, which is beyond shocking! Especially since majority of their staff are children. Very clear that they take advantage of their young children staff. I have been in another previous time, and I witnessed an older member of staff shouting and swearing yes swearing at a younger member of staff who just stood there and took it. Which is disgusting behaviour, especially a grown adult swearing. Thought being an adult, they’d know better on how to respect others and take care of their customers and staff, clearly not, the teenagers they have worker there are more mature then the adult staff which is just laughable. The managers are very disrespectful and you can tell they hate their job. I would too if I was in my 50’s working in hospitality, which is seen as a teenager job🤣🤣 I am just appalled by the way they think they are superior compared to their younger staff, which by the way the younger staff are better and more well manner may I add. They need a whole new set of management team for sure! Also, don’t even bother tipping. It all goes back into the managers pockets rather than all the staff getting tips, especially the younger staff, oh no they don’t even get a penny off the tips!!!!! The younger ones are seen doing all the work but don’t get the credit for what they do as they don’t even get their customers tips. Which is just sickening😡 more proof of how badly managed this place is and how poor the staff are. The food itself is just average. Came cold. Order a margarita pizza and it was like eat rubber. Cold and chewy. Especially as it is an Italian you’d think they’d be good at making their specialty hahaha nope. Overall, I would not recommend anyone even stepping a foot in this place, food is below average, not what you expect for the price of the food, the managers don’t have a care in the world for their staff or there customers and they are stealing well earned tips that there staff earned just because they are lazy buggers and can’t be arsed putting in the work themselves.

Good food, service a little slow

Went on the 10/07/23 to celebrate my daughter's graduation it was a party of 5! we shown to our table in the large room (very relaxed atmosphere) we ordered a starter and soon after that all the mains arrived every meal was different so top marks👍 Every meal was well cooked and could not be faulted at all. Another plus is you can see the kitchen and chefs cooking it is no wonder San Marco does well I have never had a bad meal or reason to complain about anything 10 out of 10 to all the staff

This restaurant is well managed, and the staff are highly trained and polite. This was my husband's and my first visit. Food was excellent and fresh. Nothing was too much for the staff. We will certainly be returning.

Beautiful decor but 2 large dining areas with tiled floors which are very noisy when there's a few people in with chair's scraping on the floor and voices echoing off the walls. It's very hard to hear my friends speak 😕 Food was OK we all had pizza's but I've had better, I found my vegetarian one (£13.90) a little bland, and boring, just the usual veg ie. Aubergine, courgette, onion and peppers. It was supposed to have asparagus but I couldn't see any, think they'd substituted mushrooms instead. Not good if you don't like mushrooms! The breaded mushroom starter was average (£7.90). Lastly I'm surprised that I was charged £1 for a splash of lemonade in my wine!

Taken here for Father's Day meal which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. I really enjoyed the food, surroundings and how airy the restaurant is. Italian Orchard was my favourite but it is firmly San Marco now. Price wise in my humble opinion it is reasonable and portion size is good. Service was ok, but it was very busy, I will definitely be returning as a family and for date night with the wife.

Fabulous meal for my neices birthday! Service was great, extra drinks added to out bill was soon resolved by the lovely lady on the till.. its our 4th or 5th visit here, definitely recommend, new play area in the back for the little ones too, kept them very entertained

Food is good but have sometimes been very disappointed. Better to go for more well known popular options. Service is very friendly but sometimes a bit slow. I am not a fan of how loud and open the restaurant is.

Excellent restaurant. Service, quality of food is superb. Meals arrived spot on time and were well-prepared & tasty with good attention to detail. Pricey but certainly worth the premium. Nice ambience but very noisy, hence 4 star rating. This is due to a tiled instead of carpeted floor with a concave ceiling which amplifies sound. Will definitely return but is better suited to a family meal or office party than an intimate romantic dinner.

Very disappointing after I'd heard good things about it. Ordered hot and spicy wings and there was no seasoning at all on them they were so bland I might as well have ordered dust. Pizza again was bland and slightly over cooked. I tried to get the attention of a staff member he looked at me , gave me a funny look and walked past Awesome experience!

My family and I have been coming here for years and it's always a good experience. Great good and great service. Only downside is the big room can get quite noisy when full, but still definitely worth it!

Fantastic food but expensive. Service was a bit slow but it was extremely busy as it was Mother's Day. Service was better when we'd visited previously. Staff friendly.

Had a few visits to here and mainly it's above average for an Italian restaurant in the UK. Food quality is quite good in general, especially the flavour. However, my main lacked any trace of meat in the pasta sauce and had to be redone, the white wine was served far to warm, entree garlic breads were served after the starters and dishes had to be chased up as they weren't served at the same time (all desserts were finished by the time the final one was served). Also it's like a cattle market, if you're after a quiet or civilized meal then don't bother . The noise is horrific and you have to shout to be heard.

Lovely place and great tasting food table of 30 and not one was cold and all tasted great coupld of mishaps but quickly resolved have a throughly good evening with friends!!
