Absolutely love this place, the English breakfast is the best by far. The staff are lovely and friendly. Can’t recommend enough 10/10

This is a lovely café. The food is good and the service friendly and efficient. I often pop in and did order on line for delivery at times. Going to the café has not changed and I go every couple of weeks or so. It’s a lovely place and the staff are so nice. However, I really liked being able to order a delivery on occasion when I wasn’t able to go myself but over the past couple of months or so I have been unable to make an order! Tranquilitea remains on the Just Eat website and you can make an ‘order’ but once it has gone to the café for confirmation there is no response! After a fair wait Just Eat does come back to say there has been no response and refunds the money of the order. The only way to see if deliveries have resumed is to try and order. But - Why remain on Just Eat if you are not able to do deliveries? Or could a message be put on the delivery service Tranquilitea page indicating deliveries are not available? Also, something regarding collecting orders? The listed telephone numbers does not work. I tried to ring to order and pick up rather than a delivery but the line appears to be dead! Surely if you do not have a working telephone then a) you cannot get direct orders for takeaway, get a reservation for a table, etc., and b) you are unable to deliver via any of the delivery services which all rely on you having a working telephone linked to the delivery website/service. Whilst this is a great place to go to it is a very bad experience on line and the café should seriously consider removing itself from the delivery service, put a notice on the delivery website or ensure that it works.

This morning my family and I went to have breakfast with Santa. It was fab!!!! The staff were friendly, and attentive. The cafe was warm and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The whole morning was nothing but amazing. I liked the fact we were not rushed and each child got adequate time with Santa. Will definitely be booking next year, and would recommend it to anyone. I have also been in when it isn’t an event, and always have great service and food. Always make sure you save room for cake!

I realised after my visit today that I’ve never reviewed this fantastic gem of a cafe. We have been coming here for years through different owners and management. Great for young families, retired couples meet ups or catching up with friends. Service is fantastic, all the staff are a credit to the place they’re friendly and welcoming, but are also happy with the no pressure approach, they can see you’re with friends/family so don’t bug you every 5mins asking if you’re ok and can they get you anything else!! The food is also gorgeous and incredibly good value. I really find nothing to complain about here. It’s my go to place for meeting anyone or taking someone for a good bite to eat! I’ve even been known to have a work meeting or two there. There used to be a gorgeous play area for children when my daughter was small it was a firm favourite for us as a safe place we could always go to. Covid has taken that for now but I do hope it will return in the future, if safe to do so, as there has always been a steady flow of burnt out mums needing a place to have a brew!

The owners of Tranquilty Dean, Clare and staff have done a great service during the pandemic.. This tea shop is just off worsley road swinton, so very local to surroundings areas. I have visited many times, the food is exceptional, and the cakes are delicious all home made. Dean and co have made this a go to place for me and my friends to meet up, or more recently a take out. More recently it’s been a collection only. So not sure of any markings inside for COVID.

Very spacious vintage coffee shop. Not many tables but lovely so you can’t hear other people’s conversations. Very friendly staff. A great area set out for children with plenty of toys and fun things for them to do to keep them amused. We had cheese and beans on toast and were hard pushed to finish it, better too much than not enough we say. We ordered the same for my 3 yr old granddaughter and they said they would put the beans in a little bowl as some children didn’t like the toast going soggy, which we thought was a nice touch. For once we felt at ease in a coffee shop as my granddaughter was kept amused, usually we can’t wait to be served, eat up and get out before she decides we are leaving! Would definitely recommend.

I travelled from Southport to take my Mum out for tea and cake. Checked the website and noted reviews saying gluten free options were available. When I asked what the gluten free cake options were I was told there weren't any. This put us in the difficult position of mum sitting there with a cream tea and me with just a cup of tea. The attitude of the waitress was not at all helpful. If you are gluten free like myself I suggest you do as I am going to and give my money to someone who genuinely cares about their gluten free customers and avoid this place

This tea shop was a great find and we enjoyed our visit very much. Tea is served in China cups and there is a delightful choice of cakes for afternoon tea.

This lovely delightful little quirky tearoom must have changed hands. The pleasing table decorations are replaced by a standard sugar bowl and two half used sauce bottles. The place appears to have been stripped back of its character, and now has the feel of part motorway cafe that also serves tea. It has totally lost its USP. Only the tea cups were china. Sorry won’t be coming back.

We felt ignored by the team today and the steak baguette today was merely beef slices warmed up. Despite having asked if they had steak before I made my order. I saw what must have been the last steak go to a friend/ relative of the business. The two cokes we ordered were Diet Coke, then when queried was told they didn’t have any proper coke so asked for alternative. Got lemonade and was informed in front of the other customers this was diet too, which was a bit embarrassing. But it was fine. Then later on another patron later got Pepsi, so clearly they could have given it to me previously when ordered. Then we waited ages for our table to be cleared and the inclusive children’s desserts to be offered. In the end we had to ask and was told they had none so they offered cake instead which we appreciated but yeh they again forgot to bring it over and other tables got theirs instead. Again we had to prompt the service. I would have appreciated that if they didn’t have certain items to just tell us in advance and not try to make do and hope we wouldn’t notice. It felt like we were not very welcome by the contrast of service. It’s a shame because last time we came it was much better quality and service.

Not many places welcome kids so well, this tea room has a corner just for kids, bunch of toys etc for them. Food was grand, both times I have been they have been very busy. Cakes were excellent. Will definitely be back.

The owner was hospitable and friendly, it was refreshing! The expansion to early evening drinks and nibbles, is something the locals will welcome from this considerate proprietor. All round enjoyable experience!

We just popped out for lunch . The food and service was excellent and the tea room is beautifully decorated.

Always love coming to tranquilitea for a good brew and a slice of cake! Great staff who always make a fuss of my little boy when we come in. He loves the play area too, so he is always fully entertained whilst I eat cake! Definitely going to sample the healthier brekkies next time I’m in though!! 🥑

After an amazing holiday we decided to finish it off with a breakfast im so glad tranquillitea is open on a sunday to help lessen our holiday blues, we had a lovely breakfast thanks so much to the lovely staff, and if you have children im sure they will love to see tge rabbits in the garden we will be back soon.

A lovely family run cafe! I come her most days for a coffee and have breakfast here at the weekends. A beautiful cafe! Perfect place for for friends and family to catch up.. would recommend the homemade cakes :)

a lovely family run tea room....i found it to be very welcoming with a warm & friendly atmosphere ...the staff couldnt do enough for you...the food was delicous with a good healthy menu to choose from ...but the highlight is definitely the cakes which are beautiful ....i have visited several times now and tried various cakes and am never disappointed ....has to be my favourite place for tea & cake ..would highly recommend...

I absolutely love this place and wish I had chance to go more often. From the moment you step foot inside the atmosphere is very welcoming and I feel right at home. The owners and staff are brilliant and very attentive. The food is delicious and I'm always eager to see new items on the menu. Couldn't recommend this place enough. Definitely a favourite!

Came across tranquilatea through a friend who had visited and we were very glad we did. The service was excellent and the food really good. There was a wide verity of teas and coffees and some delicious cakes. My favourite is the scone with clotted cream and jam. There is a small play area for the children also, allowing us to relax and not be too bothered by the children to play on our phones. Would highly reckomend this place fore a nice afternoon tea experience.

After the first visit just had to make it a regular occurrence. It's a family venture and you soon feel part of the family. Great tasty food from full English breakfasts to healthy salads. Not on the menu then just ask nothing is a problem. Then of course the cakes all freshly made on the premises it's hard to decide on which one to have. Would really recommend a visit .

Lovely choice for afternoon tea with a friend. Loved the sweet furniture and quaint style layout. Good choice of cakes and sandwiches.

We took my mother in law here on Saturday 21st July, having drove past in the mornings on my way to work.

the tea rooms are beautifully decorated and very clean. There is a small area for young children to play which is a nice touch to give mums chance to have their coffee warm. The menu is great and varied, more than your average cafe. They do a great kids meal deal option which can include a milkshake.

Recently organised a baby shower to be held here for my friend. She loved it. The Afternoon tea everyone had was delicious. Plenty of variety with the sandwiches, cakes, scones were delicious as were the chocolate covered strawberries.

Recently taken over by a fantastic team, Becoming a regular here, very friendly staff, food and drinks always amazing, and the cakes are something else! 10/10

Love this little cafe on Houghton Lane. It's got such a nice feel to it and the staff are friendly and the food really good. We especially like the full English breakfasts! Wish they were open on Sundays

Visited this tea room recently on recommendation. The bread was superb but unfortunately the soup was a big let down - carrot/coriander it was very watery and had little flavour. However the whole snack lunch was redeemed by delicious scones with beautifully flavoured jam and cream.

Everything is good about this tea room! Friendly staff, charming decor, lots of comfy chairs and a very good selection of delicious (and obviously home made) cakes. I will certainly return - next time to sample the lunch menu, which looked excellent.

Where do I start! My mum, friend and sister organised a surprise Baby Shower for me here and I could not have enjoyed it more. Very overwhelmed to see my family & friends there all together in one place - and the fact that we all had afternoon tea too was such a brilliant idea! The sandwiches were delicious! There were five different ones to choose from. Then there were scones and jam and cream too, cherry scones were available to eat too yummy! Then there was little cakes to eat, the mini profiteroles were the best! As were the mini chocolate eclairs! As were the strawberries dipped in chocolate mmm! Topped off with a hot or cold beverage of your choice , I had a decaff cappuccino, fabulous! I have booked to go back very soon with friends and my mum, I cannot recommend this place highly enough, I did not even know it existed until I had my Baby Shower! Cannot wait to return! The staff were very friendly and very pleasant! Thank you to all the staff involved for making my Baby Shower such a lovely and memorable experience!

Love this tea room, very relaxing, bright & friendly staff, serves cakes, sandwiches, coffee, speciality teas. They have a little play area for children but must be supervised by an adult.

Visited this tea room for the first time a couple of months ago. Don't be put off by the outside as it's properly quintessential English tea room inside. I've attached a pic of my father having a baked potato. They do a good range of delicious homemade cakes, sandwiches and paninis.

nice little tea room decorated like a dolls house comfortable really nice staff to talk to with good food no noise from the roads so able to have a peaceful breakfast even has a little play area for children.

Loved it here. The staff are so friendly and the cakes are fresh and delicious. I had a jacket potato which was on the small side for the price but it was really nice and the tea and cake (I had the Victoria sponge) was amazing. I will definitely be returning, I can't believe I didn't know about this place and will be taking my mum and sister the next chance I get.

2nd visit and decided to go for full English. Best breakfast we've ever had in a cafe. Great value for money, lovely food (lots of) and excellent service. Just around the corner from home so will have to watch waistline!!

I live less then a five minute walk away from tranquil tea which is dangerous! Their lemon cake is absolutely gorgeous and their scones are the best I have ever tasted. I popped in with my friend for a catch up lunch and loved it so much I brought my nan the next day. Both loved it as much as I do!

This tea room is my absolute favourite! The decor is just SO pretty, the cakes are gorgeous (I'd definitely recommend the lemon cake) the staff are lovely and the afternoon tea is one of the best I've ever had! Can't believe it's so close to where I live and yet I only found out about it a few months ago. I've been twice since I found it and can't wait to go back again! Just lovely :-)

Popped in to this quaint, shabby chic tea room for a light lunch. What a delightful, warm and friendly setting. Lovely staff, lovely food, lovely furnishing. Couldn't ask for more

Lovely tea rooms with friendly atmosphere. Had afternoon tea which consisted of fresh sandwiches with a variety of fillings, salad, scones with jam and cream and miniature cakes (macarons, exclaims, profiteroles... Everything was delicious. Staff are efficient and very accommodating. Packaged up any leftovers to take away - very generous portions meant we couldn't finish everything!

The food is nice the atmosphere is great also, I recommend that you bring some earphones if your running solo, other than that great place and comfy seats for reading

What a treat to find this place. I wanted to take my husband out for his 50th birthday breakfast and found this little gem via TripAdvisor.

Enjoyed our visit as the sandwiches and cakes were very good. Staff were very friendly. Were disappointed that when we asked for extra tea, this was charged for as other places we had visited had topped up for free.

I have visited quite a few times now to meet up with friends and would recommend. Food is very reasonably priced, menu a little limited but i imagine that's due to possible wastage?

Went with a friend for a catch-up. Had tea and full English Breakfast, which was lovely. Service very good, as was the prices.

Visited for my Nana's birthday. What a welcome. We came for afternoon tea for the ladies in my family celebrating my Nana's 91st birthday. Food was lovely. A couple of members in our party didnt eat what was on the sandwiches but so accommodating the staff were that they made plain ones.

Went this afternoon for Afternoon Tea and this is definitely the best in Manchester. Have been to large hotels in area previously but they have nothing on the food and service here. The atmosphere is perfect and the friendly staff certainly make the visit worthwhile. Have only been for coffee and cake in the past but even that is a pleasant experience. Would certainly recommend treating yourself and friends to a visit. We will undoubtedly be going back.

Had brunch at this lovely place on Saturday with two friends . Loved everything about it , from the vintage décor , to the friendly staff & most of all the delicious reasonably priced food & cakes . Lovely way to spend a couple of hours on a Saturday ( or any day ) . We will definitely be back & I would recommend this place highly . Enjoy :) xx

Lovely cafe hidden in the street alongside the United Reformed Church on Worsley Road. Perfect if you have children aged under 5 as they have a very well equipped play corner with a wide selection of toys. They have a typical cafe menu, but the food and drinks are very good.

Took my mum and we had lattes and I had a cheese sandwich. Bread was abit hard, didn't feel very fresh. Beautifully decorated room though with outdoor seating at the back and very clean toilets. The cafe just seemed to lack any atmosphere, maybe because it was a mid week day. Food menu quite limited also. Could be so much more.

My wife met up with old friends from Uni for one of their regular get togethers. First time at Tranquili - BUT couldn't stop saying what a great place it was and how they would definitely return.

I brought my son here for lunch on a sunny Saturday and had a wonderful time. The service was fantastic, the staff all very friendly and helpful. We had sandwiches and a pot of tea which were well priced and served quickly. There is a toy corner which my son loved and then at the end we discovered the fairy garden out the back. We will definitely go there again.

I had my baby shower here at the end of last month and had such a lovely day. It was the perfect place for a baby shower, the tea room closes on a Sunday to hold events such as baby showers so it was able to cater for all of our guests privately. The food was gorgeous, fresh sandwiches and cakes which all of our guests enjoyed. We come here now and then for breakfast too which we always enjoy. Lovely relaxing place, great service, great food.

Expected something really different but didn't get it. The white bread looked like Warburtons and the soup was not home made more look cup a soup which is a shame because the place has a really nice feel. They need to have special breads and home made soups plus nice cheeses to make me want to return.

Gave this place a try today. I went with my husband and 10 month old son.

Attended my daughters baby shower today , was very impressed with this tea room, service was excellent and friendly , we had a selection of sandwiches and cakes and they where delicious and fresh, couldn't fault the day and would highly recommend to others

Called for lunch and wasn't disappointed. Really love the way the interior has been styled. Very shabby chic with an old tea shoppe design which creates a relaxing environment. Spotlessly clean with very attentive service. I visited alone but didn't feel uncomfortable. Ordered an egg mayonnaise sandwich which was lovely and fresh, and delicious too! The cupcake was also totally divine.... Prices are reasonable and although the menu is not huge, the cakes amply compensate. The breakfasts sound delicious but there doesn't appear to be a vegetarian one available. Hope to do afternoon tea next time although you have to book!
