Traditional Fish & Chips in Kettering

Normally very good but tonight was awful The fish I think was reheated as very tough to cut and fish grey

3 Months of Hard Work to improve the Last Owner's Bad Reputation deffinately shows in my Opinion! Fast and Freindly Service, Chatty and Welcoming Staff, Chips were great and portion was plentiful, and unlike other places I shan't mention I wasn't waiting 20-30 Minutes for a Simple Order! Deep Cleaning was being done when I ordered so it's well maintained but that didn't stop them delivering Great Service! I was a Chef for 10 Years so I'm picky about what I like, 9/10, Keep up the great work I will deffinately reccomend!

Had fish chips and curry sauce today. Fish was aweful think it came from Iceland out of packet? Chips were fair but a lot of small bits. Curry sauce rank it was full of bits and stone cold again really aweful,maybe they should turn on the heat on the hot plate. The fish is not fresh its is out of box. Shape all wrong for fresh fish. Wont be going back ever, Karen had it right fresh hot fish & chips perfect curry sauce hot and lovely price Karen & Mark were great. Seems all the new owners have done is put up the price and skipping on quality

Very good chips and fish but the most of all is the SAUSAGES. Everything is FRESH and tasty. Fast service and friendly Staff. I Would recommend

Gone downhill lately, not really a village shop any more - seems like any old place you'd find in town. Won't be going again. Update 28/02/22 There is a reason this place is DEAD now. Read the reviews in date order....

The worst chips I have ever tasted! I've eaten from here a few times over the years and it was great but the last time I got food for the family it was disgusting! I have never tasted something as awful as this soggy, greasy, undercooked heap of mess. I was so annoyed i actually wanted to take them back and get my money but in the end I couldn't see the point. It seems the new owners haven't got a clue on how to cook anything nevermind chips. Maybe turning on the frier would help! I've never written such a bad review of a place before but this deserves it!

What a load of rubbish, won’t be going back there. Okay chips but cold curry sauce and a piece of fish that was bought from Iceland. You can tell it’s been taken over. It’s the price they charged which makes it worse

Wishing new owners luck but tonight's meal was pretty poor. Chips were mainly tiny scrag ends and the few that were normal size were a bit like cardboard. Was quite glad of the portion being much smaller than usual. Hopefully it's just a hiccup and huge portions of tasty crisp fluffy chips will return to the menu as the previous owners were famous for.

Always a fantastic service with polite couple, always genuine and interested in conversation. Great foods at good prices, portion sizes are often on the larger side and great taste, if yre passing through Broughton, mke sure to stop by and treat yrslf ***** rating for a reason

Simply excellent. We can't get fish and chips like this in Australia (expats) and I'm glad because I'd be soooo fat! The fish is of particular note, just enough batter wrapped around thick juicy cod. And the large chips, one could easily feed a hungry family of four.

The name says it all. Friendly service and reasonable prices. Their small chips portion is large!

A bit hit and miss. A hit is great and a miss is ok. Never had a bad Fish and Chips here. Kebab is not too bad either.
