Barton Hall Hotel & Spa in Kettering

Found staff in spa to be rude and dismissive, would be nice if they had a pool, only an outside hot tub. Staff in hotel were friendly. I wouldn't go back, was an anti climax. No manager available to leave feedback with. Very junior massage.

We got married last week at a registry office and then met with our children and parents here for lunch. The table set up was great, a large square so everyone could see eachother and chat. George our waiter was friendly and patient. Food and drink is pricey but I don't mind paying for good food. Tanya who did our spa treatments was lovely. Hot tub wasn't warm enough for us but the spa facilities are clean, relaxing and pretty. The honeymoon suite is a good room with large bathroom and stunning views. Josh and Ellie behind the bar kept the cocktails flowing. All the staff we met and spoke to were so friendly. We cannot wait to have our evening reception here next week. Thankyou everyone for making us feel special on our wedding day.

Good value hotel. The kitchen should be open for longer though.

A nice small spa facility. Had a nice few hours with friends. We had a poorly friend who couldn't make it and they said it was too late to get a refund which was fair. But we then had to fight to get her glass of prosecco which had been paid for. Gin and tonic was £13.20 shocking!!

Me and my partner had a lovely meal and cocktails, the staff were amazing. Service was quick. Lily our waitress was absolutely fantastic. We cannot to get married here next year. Highly recommended Food and cocktails were outstanding

It is a very pleasant place to enjoy a meal or stay. Staff are very helpful. It’s a relatively opulent place. However, you pay for the experience of dining/drinking. I had duck breast which was fine but no way worth £30 price tag. Not even a full breast. My friend had a £21 fish and chips which was excellent. There are numerous typos on menus too which is a shame. I probably won’t be hurrying back here in future as there are any number of pubs/bistros with as good or better quality of food and choice at more reasonable prices

My and my friend decided to book a spa for her birthday , from start to finish what an experience…. Georgia - (The spa therapist) from the beginning Georgia was welcoming , before our arrival me and my friend was anxious about our treatments as we’d never done anything like this before Georgia called me the day before we arrived spoke through all our treatments and reassured us we’d feel relaxed when we left , she was completely right ! Georgia was kind , funny and so professional she was an amazing credit to the team couldn’t thank her enough just wow ! After leaving our treatments we was greeted by two young ladies and a manager called Mariam all very professional , smiley and approachable. The abuse we watched them suffer that day was painful a lady who appeared to be drunk was abusing them and rather than being supportive to which you could see staff trying to make the situation better , everyone was rude to them me and my friend was shocked by the way we seen them all get spoken too several times but all three girls kept smiling stayed calm and continued doing the best they could. To all of the staff that was there that day well done you handled everything perfectly, me and my friend will be back in June, just because of you guys because even in a bad situation you still made the experience perfect for us from start to finish nothing was too much trouble, keep doing what your doing because we thought you was all fantastic. Called to enquire about availability and found the lady (Bryony) on reception to be obstructive and in the end rude. She had clearly made a mistake with the enquiry and obviously didn't like being questioned about it. Her general tone when I first checked availability was short so the second time I spoke to her I wasn't surprised she was short again. However I was shocked when she put the phone down when I politely asked how such a mistake might have been made. Terrible customer care from just an initial enquiry.

Went to a wedding at this fantastic venue, the buildings and grounds are outstanding all the staff that was working done a brilliant job, the food and drink was lovely .sisters stayed at hotel, said rooms was big enough and at a reasonable price, lovely place for events and a good day out. This hotel was the venue for my daughters wedding, we had an 4 night stay including the wedding, every member of staff went above and beyond for us to ensure all our needs were met for the duration of our stay. Shelly the wedding planner was absolutely amazing, she has supported my daughter and her partner, not just on the big day but from the very first day when the date was secured, she took care of every detail with the upmost care and attention, ensuring everything ran seamlessly, and as for the toastmaster, another godsend who just helped endlessly on the day. The bar staff, waiting staff, house keepers, management, all so friendly and helpful, I cannot recommend this hotel enough.

Stopped to use the Tesla Supercharger. Had a coffee in the Lounge area. It is a beautiful hotel. Didn't see the bedrooms but will plan a stay here soon

I stayed at one of the newly refurbished rooms. nicely decorated and very clean. nicely designed large bathroom. bed very comfortable food at the hotel restaurant fairly decent. would definitely stay again if I was in the area.

Attended a wedding and stayed the night. Venue was stunning. The staff were friendly and very helpful, the food was excellent and the venue and surroundings were amazing The room afterwards was very comfortable.

I was there for work so didn’t make use of a lot of the facilities, but the service was great and the rooms were clean tidy and spacious.

I have visited the site frequently since moving to the area in 2019. I have always had a positive experience, the food is fantastic with my most recent visit being 2 weekends ago. Despite there being a wedding within the grounds both our food and service was of a high quality. Portion sizes are favorable and our host Winter was nothing short of superb and attentive. I would recommend this venue

Only used the function room, but it was very nice.

The staff at Barton Hall ensured that we had the wedding day of our dreams. Everything was seamless and we felt so at ease. We couldn’t have asked for anything more. The rooms were spotless and breakfast is delicious, with so much choice. We can’t wait to come back for our anniversary!

Took my other half here for a Valentine's evening meal. Don't know the place existed, and had drived past it so many times. Upon arrival, the building is stunning, inside, beautifully styled. The staff were very friendly, and polite, very attentive. Meal was absolutely amazing though, from starter , all the way through to desert. The fillet steak was the most amazing I'd EVER experienced, it just melted in the mouth. Lovely atmosphere, tables a decent distance apart, so you didn't feels they'd crammed everyone in for valentine's night. Couldn't fault anything at all, and we will definitely be returning. Many many thanks for a lovely evening, and thanks to all the staff, and particularly the chef, who made our evening so special. Highly recommended! MANY THANKS !!

We had a lovely meal in the restaurant on 24th January 2025. The food was plentiful and nicely presented and the ambience of the hotel was appealing as always. All the staff were lovely. Lee, in particular, did us proud and was very attentive, helpful and thorough in delivering great customer service.

Wow, what an incredible wedding venue! I’ve had the absolute pleasure of photographing weddings at Barton Hall, and it’s always such a fun and memorable experience. Just popped in to charge my car but used the toilet facilities whilst I was here. Staff are friendly and welcoming. I'm sure if I wanted lunch or a drink they would have ablidged.

We booked our wedding for November 30th. Everything was sensational from the food, the service, to the staff and the rooms. Shelley was fantastic as our wedding coordinator. Nothing was too much trouble. She treated my wife like a friend more then a customer and made her feel like a queen. She was very friendly to me too and again nothing was too much trouble, even when one of our guests forgot to let us know of a dietary requirement, she immediately sorted it even though it was not her or barton halls mistake. The orangery was magical and the while day was amazing. Rooms 10/10 Service 11/10 Food 10/10 Atmosphere 10/10 Elegance 10/10 You made our wedding day even more special. Thankyou

Stayed Dec24 for one night on business trip. Room clean however room 17 had headroom and uneven floor issues, noted that this is a period property. Evening meal and buffet style breakfast fairly good. Staff very friendly and efficient. Would I stay here again?: Absolutely. Would I classify this hotel as 4 star? Based upon my room, no.

This is not a 4 star property by any stretch! The rooms are dated and worn. Beds aren’t comfortable and had dirty linens and throw pillows. Service is subpar. The whole lobby smelled of fried food and cigarettes when we arrived. The “spa” is not a spa! It is a hot tub on a patio. It is a large hot tub and was clean, but was packed with people. Cups, glasses, robes, towels, etc were strewn around and never picked up.

Amazing hotel with equally amazing staff. We had a great overnight stay in a lovely room, with an evening meal and breakfast the next morning Everything about our experience was of the highest quality. Thank you. I would so highly recommend

This is not a hotel review directly but I wanted to express my appreciation for the staff at Barton Hall Hotel. My car broke down nearby and I needed to use their facilities for a short while while waiting for a recovery vehicle. They were very kind and caring and I really appreciated their help.

Got married at Barton Hall in September and I must say it really was perfect.. but Shelly the wedding planner was my lifeline that day she was absolutely amazing and made my day as smooth as possible whatever I needed even getting her mum to drop of a sewing kit after my dress was stood on!! Absolute credit to Barton hall!!!

The hotel is lovely as are the grounds & the Charles suite worked perfectly as a space to conducts a morning of BIG networking for business people from across the county & beyond. For Kettering based business Barton Hall is an amazing place to have face-to-face meetings.

No smoking area to sit and relax but you can vape???? My great nan smoked 40 a day till she was 96!!!! Guaranteed she wouldnt of lived that long smoking dodgy vapes from China!!!!! Just saying!!! There was a lot of unhappy people standing up smoking in car park with slippers and stones in there feet!!! sort it out!! Don't be another kier starmer 👊👊👊 On the up! the rooms are really Nice!!!! And Joanne from the Spa is an absolute Star!!!! Thanks again Joanne X

Lovely weekend away .We used the spa facilities and it was a real treat we had a lovely room and a great view of the sheep in the field over the road .

Called in for dinner, after almost calling somewhere less salubrious. The food and ambience were really good, however £10.50 for an average quality dessert is too much.

Went for a Twilight Spa and it was perfect, even though it rained. Staff were lovely and helpful, massage was amazing, and the spa itself is beautiful. Very clean, lovely and warm, highly recommend. Lots of parking too

Had a great stay here room brilliant had a private lounge. Spa 3 hrs complimentary a nice touch and great outdoor experience. Service very attentive only aspect for improvement would be the restaurant menu to cater for all. Found portion sizes too big meaning you could not enjoy the whole menu. Perhaps introduce a two or three course option at a favourable rate.

Wonderful food, excellent service

Not a good place to stay on a stopover for work. So many issues with room and front of house were quite unhelpful on arrival. Promised refund on part of room fee by deputy manager for terrible room (newly furnished but absolutely no thought or checks made by staff to assess functionality) but this was not honoured. Was offered room swap at 9:45pm but after unpacking and working, couldn’t find the energy to do this. Should have, sleep may have been had. Labyrinth of doors to find your room and no signs to help. Restaurant was nice but £26 for cottage pie (which was soup in a pot) is way over priced. However, Ethan was a super star, very attentive member of the team. Still waiting for manager to call to discuss the matter….4 days later. Won’t be back. Left feeling harassed and very tired, not a good start to my day.

Lovely hotel, quiet and relaxing atmosphere.

I came for the spa and lunch package on Saturday with 3 of my friends. The food was lovely and tasted amazing however, took a long time to come which meant we missed an hour of our spa usage. Once at the spa, there’s 6 steps. 1 of which is connect with nature (sit outside) which I could do for free at home. The ice bath was one bath sat outside with no ice in it and full of leaves from the trees. The fire pit wasn’t lit and the hydrotherapy wasn’t particularly warm. Once the 3 steps we actually got were completed and we wanted to get washed and dressed, there is only one changing room and 2 showers for multiple women which meant there was a long queue and no room to get dressed without exposing yourself. I expected much better facilities.

We got married nearly two weeks ago now and Barton Hall was our amazing venue, all I can say is thank you to the whole team from the bottom of our hearts. From staying the night before with my bridal party to the morning after the wedding, everyone made us feel like absolute royalty. The rooms are stunning, the food is just WOW (everyone loved the sticky toffee pudding!!) the service did not miss and the orangery and grounds… 😍😍 if that isn’t enough to make this the most perfect venue I don’t know what is. I wish we could re-live the day over and over again. We will re-visit every year on our anniversary to enjoy the spa, food and grounds all over again!! Just wanted to make a special thank you to Abi, Ivana and Shelley ❤️. Xxx

We chose Barton Hall as our wedding venue and are so happy we did! The venue is beautiful especially the orangery. The events team (in particular Abi and Shelley) were all so wonderful! They helped us every step of the way and we are so grateful for them. Our guests told us it was the best wedding they had ever been to and we couldn't have done it without the great Barton hall staff. We will definitely be back for anniversaries and future celebrations. Highly recommend!

Stopped for charging and went to check out restaurant. We’re vegetarians so sometimes food options are limited but Barton Hall was a positive surprise. Delicious meal with great service, we’ll definitely come back.

Lovely place to stop for the night. Has a lovely terrace to Enjoy a drink and watch the sun set. What surprised me the most was the food, it was incredible. The last time I had anything with so much flavour was a Michelin star restaurant, amazing! The only disappointment was not being able to use the spa because it was fully booked, and it's first come first served (no advance booking). I believe the spa is only an added bonus if you can get in and not technically part of the room stay. Overall still excellent, beautiful location and Kettering is a lovely place to be.

Only came here for lunch. Pretty venue, staff nice enough, no food service outside even when very good weather. Food incredibly expensive for what it is, it was all fine but nothing special. Gluten free desserts very disappointing. Over £100 for two people for two courses and only soft drinks

Can't speak for the rooms or location as was just using the Tesla chargers on site while passing through. But lovely building and pleasant staff, coffee, and a break while charging.

Can't answer question regarding rooms as we only eat and drink at Barton Hall but it appears a popular destination as a hotel

Stayed at this hotel as part of a wedding party and we were very disappointed. The rooms are really dated, felt old and not well looked after. As a spa hotel we at least expected shampoo/conditioner etc to be provided like in most hotels and they had none. The lady in the spa asked us if we had booked before hand and told us we were basically only allowed in once during out stay. The best thing about this hotel was the breakfast, which was very good. Would not stay again and would not recommend wasting money staying here either.

Fantastic Afternoon Tea with fizz

We got married at Barton Hall on 23rd March and I cannot recommend it enough. The lead up to our wedding and the meetings before hand were great, the team listened to what we wanted on our special day and helped make it a reality. The day itself was like a dream. Abi and Shelley are two of the most wonderful ladies I have ever met, they were at our side the whole day getting things we needed and making sure we were okay, nothing was ever too much trouble. The venue is absolutely stunning (even in the rain and hail we had!), the food and staff were impeccable. The rooms were beautiful and breakfast was amazing. I cannot recommend Barton Hall enough! All our guests said how beautiful it was and how amazing the venue was. I wish I could go back and do it all over again!

More of a corporate feel to this hotel. No where cosy for residents to sit.

Barton Hall was the most amazing venue to get married at. We had the most beautiful and special day celebrating with friends and family. Barton Hall with all their staff including Shelly made the wedding day run so smoothly. All our wedding guests loved the day and we got so many compliments on how beautiful the hotel was and how delicious the food was. We had couples who had recently got married notice all the details that they did for our wedding day to go so perfectly. We can't wait to come back to the hotel and spa for our 1st wedding anniversary!

Room we're lovely and large with Nice bathrooms. However staff were not accommodating regarding checking in alittle early. Had a wedding at the venue starting at 3pm which is the checkin time and asked for 30mins early checkin and was denied.
