Absolute stunning meal today from these guys, the filet steak melted in the mouth and was very tasty, Their Sunday Roast Takeaway is awesome too, Nick the owner always makes you feel welcome. Great place.

Celebrated the New Year coming in at this fabulous spot. The staff, food, wine and atmosphere were outstanding. There was a large group of us eating a wide variety from the menu and we all left very , very happy. The wines both red and white were delicious and the waitresses and management were really on the ball, restaurant was packed but service was tremendous. The ambience was fantastic as was the value for money. Only shame, it’s 200 miles from home, treat yourselves.

We chose this restaurant on the Tripadvisor reviews. It proved to be a good choice. Luckily we had booked in advance as it was very busy. A great welcome from the owner and the staff were very friendly. Lovely food and huge portions of well cooked meals. Highly recommend.

Today celebrated a family Ruby Wedding with a group of 20 people. I can honestly say that the food was excellent throughout. The portions were substantial and the quality was first class. The whole group commented very positively and the service was outstanding with the owner extremely attentive to all our needs. Overall a very pleasant afternoon and Thank You to all the very pleasant staff for looking after us all. Highly recommended!

Been here quite a few times now for birthdays, and I must say the atmosphere is absolutely fantastic. The owner is very honest and hardworking man, he exceeds in every way possible in my opinion. The effort he puts in to make it an enjoyable experience for someone is top notch. Not to mention the food is absolutely incredible. 10/10 from me.

Returned to the excellent tradewinds, great menu choice of excellent home cooked quality food, service is excellent and always a good atmosphere. It’s a credit to Nick and the team. You certainly won’t be hungry when you leave here. Will return when next in the area, a must visit when in Teignmouth

I visited this restaurant on the back of all of the 5 star reviews and was rather disappointed. In all of my 12 visits to Greece, I have never had lettuce in a greek salad. The salad consisted of a bowl of chopped lettuce and cucumber with very few olives, tomato and feta on the top. The main courses of Moussaka and spaghetti bolognaise were very salty and we both left most of it. No-one checked to see if our food was ok, There were three young girls standing by the bar chatting for 10 minutes, so it isn’t as if they were too busy doing other things.

Amazing place, easy to overlook from the outside but such a fab experience! The staff are absolutely lovely, and the meal was fantastic. We booked as a big group (25+) and were all made to feel welcome and at home. The portion sizes are huge and delicious, and the price is incredibly reasonable for how much food and for such quality. We will definitely be returning!

Great food and service. Nick is a great chap. Even after forgetting a salad, he made it up as a takeaway fornus and knocked it off the bill. The food was very tatsty value for money. No wonder it's packed every night....we went back!

The best Sunday roast I’ve had out bar none. Quality meat and perfectly cooked piping hot roast potatoes and vegetables. The garlic spinach was delicious. Nick was so friendly and welcoming as it was our first visit and the service was 5 stars! Don’t miss this place it’s a gem. Simon & Laura

We were a group of friends celebrating my special birthday and what a fab time we had. The owner and staff are friendly welcoming and certainly helped with the celebration (did anyone say Greek dancing!). The food is amazing but all portions are huge which made us feel guilty leaving so much food. If we were local we certainly would have taken doggy bags. Perhaps check and share starters and some sides…. Very good value for money and I would recommend this wonderful restaurant and would return when back in Teignmouth.

Absolutely delicious Sunday roast. Very tender meat, crispy roast potatoes and fresh vegetables. A good selection of meats to choose from too. Yummy puddings....if you have room....the portions are generous. Friendly, helpful staff.

Tradewinds restaurant served Greek and British cuisine in Teignmouth. It was close to the Teignmouth Rail Station Thirty one members came for lunch here. For the main course, we indulged in an array of mouthwatering options from succulent chicken souvlaki, lamb kleftiko and tender vegetarian moussaka, pastitsio greek lasagne and beef moussaka to perfectly grilled fillet of sea bass with skewer of tiger prawns. Nick the manager socialised and if given a chance he could break out with a dance. Nick was friendly and jovial. The Service at Tradewinds Restaurant was impeccable with attentive staff. I shall return to Tradewinds again.

Wow, what an amazing restaurant with a very lovely atmosphere. Huge array of options with some very special choices. I went for the chicken souvlaki which was incredible, a hanging kebab where the chicken was so juicy and tender. The restaurant owner Nick is the nicest man you could meet, we were really taken aback by his extremely kind nature. We will be back… :-)

I had a good lunch here. Enjoyed the fish pie and honeycomb cheesecake. I have made a reservation for March 2024. I will return to order the meze & Greek cuisine.

Once again an amazing night at Trade winds, Nick is a fantastic host who always makes you feel more than welcome, he is a funny gentleman, the staff are very professional and are excellent at also making sure you have a good night. It's been a couple of years since we've been here. To be honest, I don't know how we forgot about this place! Superb environment, food, and the owners are always on point. The only downside was they served our children adult meals in size, but only charged for kids! I tried to pay the extra, but they refused! It's rare to see a family business nowadays where the owners still remember how to run a restaurant. The best restaurant in the area without a doubt. Highly recommended 👌

There's a competition going on at the moment for the best roasties in South Devon. I've been doing my own part in helping to judge this, and - so far - Trade Winds' roasties are the winners. Service was excellent, getting 5 stars because the owner gave us a Greek dance to celebrate a fellow diner's birthday. Atmosphere has dropped a point, only because the large groups of diners sitting on long tables were chatting loudly, making it difficult for my deaf mother to hear.

Had a work do here. 18 people some pre ordered some not. It should have been complicated, but it was all dealt with smoothly and professionally. It's a really great atmosphere . The owner delivered a birthday cake in greek style with a dance. I had the sirloin steak and recommended it heartily.

Absolutely love this place can fault nothing, food excellent, staff can’t do enough to make your experience the best most memorable ever , so much so made 2 visits in 3 days and if it weren’t so far away would use more sadly on holiday but is top of our list .

We met some friends for lunch today and had a really great meal. Nik was his usual happy self, and the food and atmosphere were great. We will definitely be visiting again when we come back, hopefully for next years holidays.

Absolutely wonderful partially hidden gem! Food is always on point, large portion sizes too! It is very welcoming and great service and the prices aren't even high! Don't tell everyone, though. We still want a table left for us! The Chicken Tradewinds is highly recommended!!!

Fabulous roast lunch, went with 11 friends ( part of a club) and we all loved it, Nic is such a wonderful host and does everything to help you have a good meal.

Went for a family evening meal here for my Mums 60th birthday. We had 3 children with us between 1-5 years old. A wheelchair user as well. Staff were incredibly helpful making enough space for us to enjoy our experience. The food was absolutely terrific, thoroughly enjoyed by all, portion sizes are MASSIVE!. Will definitely be going here again.

Recommended by my parents (who live in the town) to eat here whilst we were visiting. Couldn't get a table on a Weds night as fully booked, but they squeezed us in the following day. Service from the two female servers was excellent. Super friendly and happy to answer our questions on drinks and dishes. The owner (Nick) seemed to be well liked and knew many of the customers by name. He also relished the opportunity to parade around the tables for special occasions, and all the diners joined in good natured. Had the garlic dough balls to start and they were not what we expected. A real upgrade from those you'd see at a usual Italian. I did find the menu a little odd as it's a mix of English, Italian and Greek. It obviously works for the clientele, just don't go expecting only Greek meze dishes. One halloumi skewer, salad and fries and one lamb shank later, we still thankfully had room for a shared chocolate fudge cake. But only just ... as the portion sizes were very generous. It was a lovely meal, decent food (but not mind blowingly amazing) and great service.

What a find don't let the outside fool you this is by far the best Greek meal I have had in this country authentic tasting home-cooked quality I can recommend the lamb kleftiko great takes me back to Greece. Great service great food many restaurants should take note of this place this is how you do it. I don't live locally but i will be back.

Came for the weekend to see the airshow & wanted a nice meal out for our last night & we weren't disappointed. Friendly staff & an attentive owner coupled with the most amazing food made it a restaurant we will definitely be returning to in the future.

Oh my goodness what a fantastic restaurant, Nik (can you guess who he is from my photos) is a brilliant front of house host, his wife is one of the chefs in the kitchen where they cook the most delicious home cooked food with really big portions especially the spag bol and chicken curry. The service and atmosphere is brilliant we felt like we had been out to a restaurant with entertainment on. Would be ideal to celebrate a birthday here but you must book in advance.

Wheelchair user, so access important. Step free access at rear and easy chess to tables, plus great Disabled loo. Food - Best Ever Sunday lunch. Just amazing. So good we went again during our holiday and had locally caught fish dishes, equally brilliant. Owner greets you personally and is proud of his food and restaurant. Girls serving were tidy, cheerful and professional. Nothing too much trouble. Faultless amazing food!

Used while on holiday with a wheelchair user, couldn’t do enough for us. The food was incredible, Sunday roast beef, and chicken were beautiful, cauliflower cheese, peas, carrots, enough roast potatoes to sink you and a huge Yorkshire pudding with lashings of gravy. There were 6 slices of beef Woozers really was top class. Well done Tradewinds we will be back. X

Have been a regular visitor to Tradewinds for many years. Wonderful atmosphere and really friendly staff. Birthdays are celebrated in true Greek style by the lovely Nick. Highly recommended 👌

Always an amazing night here - don't forget to book!

Attended after several positive reviews however I was left disappointed and confused by all the 5 star reviews. Staff are very welcoming and friendly and the only reason I do not give it less stars. I and other members of the party found the food to be extortionately overpriced and lacking in significant flavour. Gyros came with what appeared to be a single shop bought pitta which is dissatisfying. The portion sizes were much smaller than I had expected after reading reviews- my family’s appetite must be enormous. Lasagne was really dry and tasteless. Other food was just OK. I’m saddened to say I would not return.

Our annual visit to Trade Winds did not disappoint. Food is superb and service is efficient and friendly. We’re looking forward to our holiday next year so we can come again.
