TQ2 Café and Bar in Torbay

The elderly lady who seems to run it is very rude to every customer I seen que up. Seems to have lost her passion for the job very snappy. Even the staff seemed on edge with her 😪

Shocking service and the attitude of the staff is disgusting. Shouting at children and making them cry. Shame you can’t give somewhere a 0 star as this place shouldn’t be open. Food and coffee barely passable as edible

lovely location, but the worst staff I have ever encountered it’s basically like Karen’s diner but the real version! , one telling someone to F off and then saying she can’t wait to go home when we asked for two cups, change your staff they don’t deserve a job!!

How these people still have a business is beyond me. The staff are rude and the older lady just seems to throw out insults to customers. Such a shame as the location is beautiful.

The whole place needs a good clean, the food wasn't very nice and the staff were rather curt and unfriendly.

Cream teas were absolutely awful

Its' boulevard food, thats all. Surely a fryer clammed in between 2 fridges doesn't help global warming 🤦🏼‍♂️

Staff were really rude. Saw me struggle with a pram and dog. Bought four drinks and had to do 3 trips to the table and not an offer of help. Younger girl just stared at me the whole time with massive eyes and didn’t speak once it was really unnerving and the older woman who just sat on her phone and didn’t look up just kept interjecting with stupid points that weren’t needed. The tables and seats were all covered in bird poo. Somehow they have a 5 health rating but the kitchen didn’t look at all that clean especially as we went at a very quiet time. Glad we just bought drinks.

(Edited 2022, went after first lock down) Ate here and was shocked at the lack of social distancing and hygiene practices - no lids on our cups and no gloves used to handle produce, the lady had been touching her face and hair then touched our cakes with her bare hands to place them in a napkin and hand them to us. Cutlery was in a tray for anyone to touch, not wrapped and handed to each person. Found a hair on my partner's cake also. No hair nets, face masks or gloves worn by cooks. Literally paid and ended up chucking it in the bin as the lady was already being rude to the trainee man and we didn't want the confrontation with a line behind us too. Tables also weren't cleaned once in the 45 minutes we were in the cafe garden and on the wheel, even though people were filtering in and out and using the tables.

Wish I'd looked at other reviews first. Advertising products they don't have and won't be ordering in. Did not wash hands between re-entering the kitchen from outside and preparing food and drinks which is worrying during these times. Gorgeous location, shame about staff hygiene.

Very rude staff. Didn't tell us that our food was ready then shouted at us when we asked where it was. Such a shame as it's a lovely location.

The woman there was so rude to everyone upon ordering our items. We also asked for a cake and a cup of water amongst other items with the family, the cake was as solid as a rock and the cup of water was handed to us with the woman's dirty finger an dirty finger nail INSIDE the cup after handling money, her hair and touching her face. Absolutely disgusting behaviour, manor and standards! Will never go again

Shockingly rude staff and the crepes… one Nutella and one cheese and ham were inedible. Took them back to counter and woman was so rude I just walked away… customer service is obviously not on the radar here…

Really poor service. Really slow and one waitress complained about us trying to (politely) attract her attention.

Get new staff as soon as possible please. We’ve spent 15 minutes here whilst at least 6 people left as they were not served or staff was rude with them. When my food arrived the lady who served us dropped it on the table and asked if I’d still eat it. When I said no, she was pulling faces and I am 99% sure she returned with the same food she’d earlier dropped.

Good place for a pint if the harbour bars and pubs are packed

With a beautiful view of the Torbay coast and Torquay Harbour, this cafe, next to the Torquay wheel is a beautiful spot. Unfortunately, there's not much else positive for me to say. The coffee was reasonable and the donuts were nice. The 2 ladies that staff this establishment, we're 2 of the most miserable people I've seen in a situation that deals with the public. Sitting in the beautiful gardens around it, it was a general consensus. Everyone was saying the same thing. There was no smile, no manners and certainly, no positive customer service. There are many people who would give their all for a job at this time. In times like this, it may be wise to remember a smile and civility costs nothing.

The staff here must be the most miserable I’ve come across. You would have thought they were in a Gulag rather than a sunny seaside town. Ice cream rubbish with stale cones. Avoid!
