Town fryer chip shop in Salford

Got the fish deal and what a great choice. Fishes, chips, peas and sauces all cooked perfect. Staff are very friendly.

Food was dry steak and kidney pie was rock hard and burnt item missing from order I tried ringing back for the last hour no answer and left a voicemail still no reply absolutely disgusting never again

delivery driver spent 10 minutes driving past three! times even when I'm on the phone explaining directions.. can't miss a car park in plain sight... food was semi warm thanks to a poor delivery.

we placed the order and when it arrived there was 2 items missing and when I spoke to them they were only to happy to resolve the issue baring in mind I live about half an hour away. Can't fault them, the food and portion size is delicious. highly recommend

lovely fish...excellent value for money

3nd time something is missing off the order. first two times was little things (Pie and Barmcake), but this time a main meal. When I finally got through to the restaurant I was told they were closed and would refund my meal. This was not done either. I had to order from somewhere else at a greater cost to myself. To top it off, the pie received was rock hard & burnt, and the chicken burger was bland and dry. I will no longer be ordering from this takeaway.

The fish was all bitty not a piece of fish and the peas were bitter not like your usual standards

Why does it take an hour and half for you to deliver

The order never arrived i put in for a refund not happy at all with this service

No chilli sauce on the donner meat, chips & 'chilli sauce'. Chips were not nice. Threw most of it away.

not sure if has changed hands but quality not as good as usual, large chips only like normal portions, mushy peas not mushy, everything not as nice as months ago , fish still good but slightly more oily. Still love this chippy bit bit worried which way it's going.

fish was a really good size a excellent battered sausage, good portion of chips peas and gravy too , very happy 😁

Absolutely gorgeous, we inhaled our meals, best chippy in a long while big portions also... which was a bonus because I didn't need to make the kids their tea 😀 will definitely be back ordering thankyou

Gr8 chips,spam fritter very thin & not good value for money,not much spam it needed to be at least twice the thickness,Scallops were good,Fish very good but the batter wasn’t crisp enough.

From the last time I ordered the portion sizes of the chips were large, this time they were very small. Consistency of the portion sizes should be the same.

2 hours wait from ordering at 4.54 on a Saturday. Phone number on Just Eat is wrong so couldn’t contact the takeaway for update. Eventually found a number on google and women said they had staffing issues. Shouldn’t be taking orders they can’t fulfil or should be giving more accurate delivery time. Burger was okay but separate order of chips was inedible, dripping in grease and soggy.

Cold, not fresh and didn’t even seem cooked to be honest. All in the bin, shame as it’s been decent in the past.

It’s just gone absolutely awful. Past 2 times I’ve ordered the chips have been burnt and reheated. Very unhappy with this place and wouldn’t recommend. Used to be a big fan. Shame.

We have been regular customers at the Town Fryer for many years. We often visit this chippy because its great value and as a large family of 5 we love the wide variety of food items available as there is so much choice for everyone. The team are really friendly and polite. Nothing is too much trouble and we are always served in a timely manner. Food is consistently of a high standard and the portion sizes are great! Our favourites are the Fish & Chips Big Tea, Hollands Pies, Chicken Curry and the children love the chicken nuggets! We have used the delivery service many times and our food has always arrived hot, quickly and well packaged. Keep up the good work Town Fryer! 5 stars from the Harris's.

Ordered from here loads of time always had a good meal don’t know what went wrong this time ordered at 4.45 said would arrive 5.45 to 6.05 had to ring to chase arrived at 6.25 and chips looked like they had been cooked twice burnt and dry fish was the same very dry overcooked the scallop was undercooked not sure I will order again

Food was delivered before estimated time, lady who delivered the food was really helpful as I had my hands full with my toddler. Food was hot, fresh and tasty! Keep up the good work.

food was freezing, the curry sauce was cold, watery and bland. portion sizes was disgraceful! asked for chips and Irish curry and a carton of Irish curry and was given a different type on the chips than I got in the carton. will not be ordering again! waste of 21 pound as food was not edible

Late, cold, greasy and a wrong item sent ...

Ordered fish and chips for two online. Requested 5:30 pm delivery. Knock on the door at 4:30 pm with my order. Told them that the order was for 5:30pm. They said they would redeliver at the correct time as Requested. They redelivered later at the correct time. Asked if the food was freshly cooked , we was assured it was. Unfortunately the food was not freshly cooked as promised and tasted disgusting and had to be thrown away. Will not be ordering again from here again.

Lovely food, I’ve ordered a few times from this chippy before and the chips peas and gravy was always large. This time it was only a small for the same price. Such a shame! Unsure if I’ll order this again especially if I’m hungry. As I don’t know what size I will receive.

chips were cold. paid £4 for a "large portion" nothing large about that portion.

Order came chips peas and curry were lukewarm and steak and kidney puddings were not cooked properly so we had to cook them to finish them off and had to reheat the chips and sides for the price you would expect it to be at least cooked. Not sure if they have different people there now but it's happening to many times now so thinking of finding another place to order from.

Absolutely delicious! Irish curry sauce is the best I've has. very balanced flavours! just what I need after travelling I the cold for 3 hours 😋

Really disappointed with the small portion size of the large chips.

the food was good, nothing special though. we got the deal of 2 fish, a large chips & 2 sides. I got an extra portion of chips just in case it wasn’t that big and i’m glad i did as the large chips didn’t seem enough for 2 people to share. The fish was big though, didn’t finish it

I know we are in a cost of living crisis but the tiny tubs of pea (slop) were pathetic, the large chips were small and soggy, the pies were pale and everything was cold. What a soggy sad mess :(

Just had a delivery fish and chips. It use to be fantastic, but don't know what went wrong. The fish was just thin strips, not a full fish, just full of battery, yuk!!!

Always great food and decent portion size. When something was missing from my order the were quick to deal with my issue and sent the missing item out quickly.

The fish was dry, the fish cake was a frozen special from a cheap shop. The chips were like cardboard, tiny portions for the price with the chips and gravy and curry. Best part was the lack of batter. Would not recommend, definitely not go there again

I didn’t know you could get mushy peas in the form of cement but I do now… I ordered chips peas and gravy, a sausage and a chip barm with a tub of gravy; they brought my chips and gravy but forgot the chip barm, tub of gravy and my sausage; chips were so hard they were cooked on a heated rock and the pie needed an iron infusion because it was so pale. To add salt (which they also forgot) to the wound it was all cold. Should be called the town cryer.

Cold burnt hard chips, pie with raw pastry that I didn't order. Most revolting food I have ever been served by an adult if an adult cooked it ?
