Lovely and friendly service, the best salt and pepper chips with cheese, (order it trust me) that I've ever eaten. Great value aswell.

Fish was inedible, rubbery batter was awful the whole thing tasted like it had been sitting there since the lunchtime service. Certainly not freshly cooked!

They were very friendly and kind when we were ordering, the food was prepared quickly and tasted really good too! It was towards the end of the day but they were still very energetic, the price was also great, would definitely recommend it!

Have visited many times, but no excuse for the soggy batter today I'm afraid. Cooking too many fish in one go I suspect rather than cooking fresh. Ot's not cheap so should be cooked fresh. Will be trying a different chippy next time.

Excellent chippy plenty of choice

Not great if your hungry....kebabs are very small... Even the mixed. Better value elsewhere. Shame, used to be really good.

I grew up in Urmston with loads of award winning chippies and have lived in several cities across the UK and realised the North West does chips well. These are consistently great chips. Always fresh in 40+ visits. I travel past 2 chippies to get to this one.

Great chips but somewhat let down by soggy fish batter and poor gravy.

Went here 2 days ago, we ordered 2 chips, one tub of gravy, 2 cans of coca cola, and just a burger no bun as we always treat the dog, upon completion of my order, my bill came to £16 i was absolutely gob smacked, he charged me for a dull on burger as in bun etc, my cans £1 each, so for 2 chips gravy and a burger pattie ive been charged £14!! If you have any sense avoid this place at all costs!!!! Absolutely rip off!!

£4 for the smallest fish in the world the fishcakes are only 1.50 and probably the same size. Now I remember why I haven't been for years. Total ripp off

Had the salt and pepper chips and curry sauce. The curry sauce was the stand out part, fantastic. Not your usual chip shop type, full of flavour and just the right heat. Made the meal. Will definitely go again and give the menu more of a workout next time.

Visiting the area so decided to give the place a go. The large fish was the smallest large fish I have EVER seen in any chippy I have ever been in. The fish was tasteless and obviously cooked from frozen. It appears they have chopped the end of he fish off and pass that bit off as a small fish and the rest as a large. The mushy peas were also tasteless and the portion size if the chips was measley. Definitely not worth a revisit.

A terrible chipshop ,chips were soggy and greasy .Fish was overcooked with a greasy heavy batter mushy peas were anaemic .This used to be a great chippy but not anymore

£2.80 for a “small” portion of chips? I didn’t ask for small but the amount was measley! I think I remember getting a kebab from this place a few years back and now Ive remembered why I never went back? Rip off for standard food.

Fish clearly cooked from frozen and I could not finish it (I always finish my meals). My large chips were a small portion size maybe smaller. They did not add any salt like we instructed. They forgot to add a regular chips and gave us a meat pie instead of a cheese and onion pie. My girlfriend is veggie, so couldn’t eat it. The peas and gravy were cold and we only live around the corner. The gravy was tasteless. The chips themselves were okay but this did not make up for all the other things previously mentioned. Stay clear and go to the kingfisher instead! Much more polite/friendly and never mess an order up.

Givin 3 stars cos didnt order enough variety to really complain.. got chips and curry (hot not mild) couldnt have salt an vinegar cos theyd already put the curry before asking me an i wanted salty chips not salty sauce... got home, tried a chip an had to take a covid test.. bland isnt the word. Wish id got salt an vinegar now just for flavour. The curry is just thick orange water. Had solidified by time I got in and tastes of nothing. Chips look good. When chips an curry cost a £5 ya expect a little more taste.

Sent my daughter Chips very gritty!!! £5:10 for sausage chips and gravy and £4.30 for chips and gravy= £9:40 give her 20p !! Rip of scum won't be returning!!!!

Best fish and chips I’ve had outside of going to a restaurant for a long time. We have an ‘award winning’ chippy closer to us but much prefer the Winton Bar. Freshly cooked fish, and you can order small fish which for me is more than enough. They lightly batter them on request and they’re cooked to perfection, nice crispy batter and lovely chips (2 small portions enough for 3 of us) not all hard and bitty like I’ve had elsewhere. Friendly staff too.

Trash. Last four times we’ve been it’s been awful. Not going again. This time, fish overcooked and chips undercooked. If you call your order through they don’t tell you that the card machine isn’t working.

Lovely salt and pepper chips. Pity such a tiny amount of chips. Smallest portion I've ever had.

Fish and chips for 5 plus one gravy and one curry sauce. Roughly £23.00. Thought that was a really good deal.

Went on a saturday at lunch time for fish and chips, first and last time I'll buy from there. The chips were the greasiest I've ever seen in my life, it was like lubricant dripping from them. They also had an incredibly high amount of bad black bits on them, see pic I've uploaded. The fish itself, the actual fish was OK but the batter was like a wet tissue.

Great food, great friendly service and staff! Very reasonably priced! Love the fish and chips and the kebab meats.

Sullen staff & owner made me feel in the wrong when they put salt & vinegar on my part of the order without asking and I queried why they didn't ask. It looked like the staff member would have the cost taken out of her wages if I asked for a replacement so gave up and won't be going back.

Best chippy in the area! Travel few miles each way for this bad boy. Particularly like the mixed meat kebab. Kinda, if not like tandoori chicken, Chinese style pork and donner. Handsome!

It's a pretty decent chippy and you're served fast, you can definitely walk in with a couple of other people and just about get change from £5, they do offer milkshake type things but personally I'd skip on it again, not really worth it for the price.

They used to cook really nice kebabs here on the flame grill but now the staff don't seem to do it anymore.. Makes the meat taste cheap. Not as good as it used to be. Nice staff though.
