Popped in to say hi to a friend, looked at the menu , couldn't resist the Quiche with salad , a cafe latte 😋 and a large slice of Coffee and Walnut cake ..( to die for !! ) Nice happy faces great service and a fabulous Chef .. keep it up Lin 🙂🙃

Quaint health food store. On a mission for a cheese scone, ended up getting one of the best tasting cheese scones I've ever eaten.

We stopped here for tea, coffee and cake. The cakes were all delicious, the date and apricot was a particular favourite. Try it here as all the food looked great.

Great tasting food with good portion sizes.

Absolutely amazing food. So rare to find somewhere that I can eat with my family. I am gluten free and vegan and my daughter is allergic to milk and egg. The staff were so helpful and accommodating and the food was so delicious that I could have eaten it all over again. The salads were dressed beautifully and so tasty too. Thank you so much 😃

Choice of selected foods & herbal remedy choices

Visited for lunch Weds 24 May 2023. Despite being short staffed we were served quickly. My friend had a curry and I had the flan. The salad that it came with was very tasty and the portions generous. The whole meal was absolutely delicious. The last time I came was before lockdown and my friend has never been and was very impressed. I’m from out of town and was on a bus trip but will definitely be back with more friends and visit the deli downstairs as well this time. Definitely deserves a 5 star review.

I can't really give a review, as they were short of staff but at about 2pm they were not busy. I tried to order something but they just kept telling me the kitchen was closed. Even for a sandwich. I don't understand why the doors were open given they didn't want any business.

Good healthy food in a lovely homely café

Had a chia coffee & a smoothie. Querky decore. Specialises in vegan & vegetarian dishes. Looked empty but lots of rooms upstairs & quite full considering it was late afternoon when I visited. I will visit the place again & try the food next time.

Really like this place. Been a couple of times and I'd definitely recommend it. I think it's all veggie and vegan. Cafe is upstairs from the deli. Had a fabulous coffee and a really nice lunch of vegetable Quiche with fresh salads. They usually have several different daily salads. They were all really fresh and delicious. Took a piece of carrot cake home. Not so keen on the carrot cake. Bit of a weird texture, possibly gluten free and I prefer to have gluten! Place is relaxed, a little quirky and the staff are friendly and pleasant.

Ate at the cafe today. Very good. Friendly service. Vegetarian food that's actually very tasty (I had the Broccoli, tomato and brie quiche). Large salad with multiple ingredients and accoutrements of toasted seeds and dressing. Decent portion sizes at a reasonable price. Recommend.

Had a amazing coffee from here today, I'm very fussy and Costa and the dribble sold there has nothing on the coffee here at Toucan Wholefoods shop & Cafe thankyou very much

An organic and wholesome place. Not cheap but worth a visit. Or 2 or 3. Fresh fruit and vegetables always available. Again not cheap but available without frills. Interesting choice in the delicatessen, though the samosas could be spicier Always good and friendly service. If you venture upstairs, there is a good cafe. Nice coffee and a good variety of soups and other dishes at lunchtimes.

Hidden away up on the first floor is the Toucan cafe. A light and spacious cafe with views over the Parade, the most amazing sandwiches and great coffee!

Very nice coffee Tried their Thai vegetable soup - bit in the sweet side but delicious tastes of all sorts of the vegetables came through. Delicious wholemeal bread to accompany the suit. A nice experience dining in Prices for the 2 soups on offer were both just under £5. Good vfm. Good service Good coffee What's there to complain about in these days of high Tory taxes, runaway inflation and crumbling services.

The original wholefood shop, has been going strong in Minehead for decades, with a great range of food and healthcare products, along with an awesome cafe - best place to grab lunch in Minehead.

Needed a dried veggie mix for a recipe and got it here.

The first time I visited England, my mother in law told me that Toucan will have everything I need. We went there for chai, sandwiches then I did plenty of shopping in the downstairs shop. 7 visits later, here’s my review. We love everything! The menu is great. The tofu burger is amazing! The chai was great. They have a Christmas catering menu which has plenty of vegan items on it (that the whole family loves not just the veggies!). The shop is definitely my favorite, small but has everyyyything you need! The stock all my favorite brands; from vitamins to chocolates, gluten free items, tofu and tempeh, teas, cosmetics, allll of it. I’m sure you’re thinking all shops have that, what I’m referring to is the choice of the brands they stock! We also highly recommend the bread they stock as well as the items in the downstairs fridge. The pasties and desserts are great! It’s definitely out go to whenever we’re in England!

Cafe served excellent home cooked vegan food in comfortable surroundings hidden away upstairs above the deli Friendly staff took the time to explain the dishes and ingredients. Dogs allowed inside. Will definitely return next holiday in the area, wish it was nearer to home.

A coffee stop that turned into a great lunch venue. I was greeted with a lovely smile from the propieter and the food on displayed looked too good to miss out on. This cafe turned out to be a lucky/great find in Minehead. The food was better than I expected and all home made too.

Lovely Cafe with great seating and great vegetarian options. The melon smoothie was a great treat on a hot afternoon. All the meals were different from the usual, with Toucan having their own twist on the recipe. I was impressed. Thanks for the lovely meal.

This is a great place for a family lunch. The food is healthy but tasty. They were very welcoming to our toddler and there are baby changing facilities available. This was our second visit and we'll definitely be back again!

Lovely shop. Even better is the Toucan cafe with coffees, teas, soft drinks and cakes. Food is offered as GF and vegan/vegetarian. There is also a specials board that changes regularly but you cant go wrong with the falafel!! Good friendly service and we visited with covid restrictions but felt safe and looked after. Visit yourself and you won't regret it

Very good food and service in a spacious dining room

We always visit Toucan on our trips to Minehead to see relatives & stock up on their fantastic offerings. They have unusual eco-friendly items in stock such as a good range of aluminium free deodorants & plastic free teabags & also have refills for various products. There is fresh homemade bread available including gluten free & a good range of flapjacks & savoury items plus fruit & veg. There is a dog-friendly cafe upstairs although dogs are not allowed in the main shop. Well worth a visit!

First class menu and veggie vegan food

I dont know whats happened to the Toucan recently, if its been taken over? I am a local man who shops there regularly. Been a few times over the last couple of weeks for my health foods and every time the staff have been engrossed in talking amongst themselves, completely ignored me, no "hello" or "can we help you" , no customer service at all, just a bland non responsive atmosphere, not too impressed hope the new management read this....

After years of enjoying the amazing inspirational food at Touchan I arrived with hungry but with confidence that I was to experience another wonderful meal here. However, I was disappointed to learn that it had changed hands. We visited yesterday. The revamped eating areas are lovely as is the new owner. I noticed immediately that all the fabulous cakes had been replaced with tea cakes, scones and some soggy looking flapjack type bars. Worse still, the food was dreadful, it was the complete opposite of previous food enjoyed there. The presentation of our dishes was at best boring, taste and texture...awful. My partner had the Shepherds Pie with vegetables. As a retired chef he is still creative and loves good food and presentation. He said it was edible but didn’t have the flare or wonderful flavours created by the previous chef. The veg was dry and uninteresting. Unfortunately my lentil Spaghetti Bolognese was unrecognisable as such. I’m vegan and love the creativity of flavours in vegan cooking but I couldn’t eat it, as hungry as I was. The ‘sauce’ was a tasteless, mix of overcooked lentils mixed into the spaghetti and topped with grated ‘red chedder’ Vegan cheese. Yuk! Not even vegan parmesan. I spoke to the lovely new owner who was attentive and very willing to resolve things. She bought me another dish of ‘spaghetti bolognese’. This time the sauce was on top of the spaghetti but the texture and taste were the same and again topped with ‘red cheddar’ and even more bizarrely with coriander leaves??? I really appreciated her concern but gave up and left. That is not the work of a ‘chef’ or someone who knows about food. Very sad ☹️

Under new management. It is always difficult taking on a new business especially one with such a good reputation. Change is always difficult and it tends to take some time however I believe the new management team are dedicated to not just continuing to make this business a success but go one step further and improving it. Teething problems are inevitable when starting a new business, it would be nice to give them some time to get find their feet. I enjoyed my creamy latte and my daughter enjoyed her milk and cake... Will definitely return and try out the food menu...

Popular shop and cafe. Cafe has excellent vegetarian food and drink choices, very tasty and nutritious. Helpful staff. Great atmosphere. Papers to read, varied choice of areas to sit. Food to eat in or take away and goods for sale. Love it! The above review applies to Toucan shop and cafe when it was under Sally's brilliant ownership. It does not apply to the new 2019 ownership because I have not visited Toucan since February 2019

I use to love this place but since the new owners it's not the same. I've seen staff belittled in front of customers and standards have dropped. I would definitely not reccomend.

Great to have somewhere vegetarian and vegan in town. A good range of ethical and local products in the shop and vegan and vegetarian food in the cafe.

Despite forgetting our coffee, they were very nice about it and gave us a refund. Food was dairy and gluten free but not taste free :)

Fantastic vegetarian restaurant and shop in Minehead town centre. Great staff with quick service. The menu has various sandwiches, soups and main meals. Recommend the curry on the daily special menu. Great soya latte too and choices of different cakes. Yummy!!

what a great little find sort of like a health food shop only better my husband picked up 2 sugar free wholemeal scones from here and was most impressed by them great little shop worth a visit.

Can't praise it enough. The shop itself and everyone in it is just fantastic. Just about everything there for healthy living. The restaurant/cafe and the food, smoothies, juices, coffees and cakes are incredible. Being gluten free, this is veggie food heaven for me. Thankyou Sally, Nicky and all at Toucan for providing such a brilliant place for all us health food lovers to come to.

Fabulous! Independent shop with great range of health food and beauty products, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Excellent cafe to sit in for lunch or a drink and cake. Excellent take out cakes too, very yummy. They also have complimentary therapy treatment rooms which I have not yet tried.

I have been going to Toucan for years and never have I ever experienced anything other than amazing food, beautiful coffee and thoughtful staff. I too have had the pleasure of show casing my art on their walls which was a lovely experience. It's always nice going in and seeing local artists having a platform to share their pieces. Toucan is my favourite and only choice to eat/ drink in within the Minehead area. If only they had another in Taunton so that I would never have to eat anywhere else.

Welcoming cafe/restaurant with a great selection of vegetarian and vegan food well made,cooked & presented. A grand selection of drinks including teas , coffees & some great sounding smoothies . Very friendly staff, clean & tidy room & a well stocked healthy/ethical food shop downstairs too ! If only I lived closer ! 😣 Note : The upstairs cafè closes at 5 pm , the shop at 5:30 pm .

Love this place. It's everything I'm not. Healthy and vegetarian 😊 but the food is fantastic. If you haven't tried. Then now is the time.

Although this is a vegetarian cafe I recommend it to everyone. The food is amazing and the portions are large. I took my mother who is vegan here and she loved the falafel sandwich on gluten-free bread. My husband and I are not vegetarians but will definitely be coming back to eat here. I had quiche and my husband had a frittata and all 3 of our meals were excellent. The cafe staff were really helpful and lovely.
