I went as part of a tour group. Overall, it was a fun night with respect to the entertainment. The facility is adequate, and ok considering the area. The food was not great. Limited menu selection and small portions. I had salmon. It was a very small portion and mostly raw. No one ever checked on whether there were any problems with the food.

Had my wedding here on the first of September Having been to many a Scottish night here there was only one place we wanted our wedding and that was at the Torphichen Inn We weren’t disappointed. Kenny and his staff were excellent, the food was amazing and the haggis to die for. Everything was perfect and we wish we could do it all again this weekend. I have just spoken to one of our guests and she said it was a better wedding than her granddaughter had at the five star Cameron House Hotel on Loch Lomond. I’ve got to agree Kenny and his staff made our wedding five star and further party’s we have will definitely be at the Torphichen Inn

This place is a hidden gem! They have delicious food and treat you like family! John the owner and all of his family and staff are so warm and welcoming. Chris our entertainer for the night was a mix of our American singers John Denver and James Taylor! And we loved the old Scottish songs he shared with us, especially the last song when John and family and staff all joined in to sing us a fond farewell. If you're in the U.K. Don't miss an opportunity to visit Torphichen Scotland. More than a living museum, The Inn is adorned by a large Red Cross. Built in A.D. 1119 by the co-founder of the Knights Templar, Hugues de Payen. Kenny Craig is the proprietor. A Scot through and through and a fine baritone ready to share a folk tune or two. Pipers make you know you're in Scotland. Greg Moody painted fantastic murals in the Pub that tell the tale of the Robert Burns poem Tamoshanter using townsfolk as the models for the characters. The banquet hall is adorned with his murals of famous Scots and their stories. Tour buses are treated to a taste of real Scotland. Including the blessing of the Haggis. Did I mention he makes the best haggis in all of Scotland. It doesn't get any more real than Torphichen where William Wallace held Parliament across the street in the ancient preceptory and graveyard where Templars lay. The staff and entertainment are top notch. The location is surreal. Catch a bus tour. Place it on the top of your bucket list. You won't be disappointed.

Tour group visit to the Inn hosted by the owner was a highlight of our trip. Drinks ready upon arrival, holding umbrellas out for us all to the doorway was a precursor to the extraordinary service that would last throughout the night. Very chilled live music during dinner was not overbearing and the show was very authentic. This is what I like to believe Scottish life must be like all the time. Personal recipe of Haggis that we felt needed to be done (surprising tasty) and dinner was like a home cooked meal, not the standard production line of food expected for large groups. Great surprise of a local Highland dance which topped off a great evening, then all the staff came out to sing goodbye. Just a very real experience with locals who genuinely take pride in their heritage, food and service. Really enjoyable night

I had sworn not to taste any haggis and so far I had kept my word. This man is so sincere and wants to please all his guests that I had to taste it. He did not force me at all, this was my choice. Wow! Wow! Wow! On a two week tour of England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland, our tour director, Steve Morris with EF Go Ahead Tours made arrangements for a special excursion to visit the quaint village of Torphichen. And it was our favorite evening of the entire two week adventure! The village is historically very interesting because it was the seat of the Knights Hospitaller of Saint John in Scotland right through the Middle Ages. The Knights Hospitaller, like the Knights Templar, were sort of militaristic monks who escorted pilgrims down to the Middle East during the crusades times. When we arrived in the village, we walked a very short distance to the Presbytery where a bagpipe player, Graham, was waiting for us. He told us about the Presbytery (the actual building where the Knights Hospitaller used to be) and then took us down to the Inn. It is traditional in Scotland to be piped into a venue, or perhaps a church, for example, for an important event. We where piped into the Torphichen Inn. We enjoyed an evening of singing, poetry, music, eating, drinking! We had a three course meal and, additionally a haggis taster. Kenny, the landlord, walked around all the tables with a big plate of freshly-made haggis. Everybody had a special haggis fork to take a little bite (or maybe a big bite) of haggis. Per our guide Steve who professes to be a haggis connoisseur, he said that this is without doubt the best haggis he has ever eaten in Scotland. It was much better than I expected!!! Kenny and Graham performed Robbie Burns‘s address to the haggis. The haggis was presented on a platter by Kenny with the accompaniment of Graham and his bagpipes! Kenny also sang a Scottish song. He had an excellent voice. There were two musicians that also sang. Kenny told us about life in Scotland now and in the past. It was an evening of entertainment and culture as the Scots know it and was greatly enjoyed by our group!
