Terrible experience. Facebook page said it opened at 11am, it didn’t open until 12, the closed sign stayed on the door until the 4th customer entered and asked if it was open. Took 20mins to get a coffee although we were the only people there. I ordered all day breakfast plus size (extra £3) but the menu didn’t say what you get for an extra £3. It was one piece of haggis & one piece of black pudding, both weren’t great. Sausage was cheap, the egg was overcooked and crispy on the bottom, beans were watery, bacon ok. I asked for toast. It came on top of the breakfast which made it soggy, i had to ask for butter and a side plate for the toast, i got possibly stork, it certainly wasn’t butter, i had to ask for the plate twice. Still only two of us to serve. The salad roll was ok, the coleslaw wasn’t coleslaw, it was chopped up lettuce & cucumber with mayo. It came to £22.00 Not worth the money, service was poor although it was a nice setting. I paid with cash (2x £20 notes) they didn’t have change. I was given £8.00 change and informed the staff i was £10 short. They didn’t have anymore change in the till. Between two staff to ‘mustered’ up a £10.00 note between them. Really really poor you cannot it right (never mind wrong a few times) with two staff for only two customers. I wouldn’t go back if the food was free.

1st time at Bistro 52 and very warm and romantic surroundings. Not many tables. Didn't book we just turned up. Food hot and amazing. Staff very friendly. Will say one negative wasn't much on the evening menu compared to the lunch menu. Will be back maybe try lunch next time.

I have visited the bistro many times previously and have only ever had fantastic things to say about it. Sadly though, it isn’t the same anymore. I visited on my birthday after telling my friends about the fantastic nachos they do. We ordered the large sharing bowl as well as a panini each and the nachos never came. When we questioned the waitress she said she would fetch them for us ( she had clearly forgotten to order them) and then came back to tell us they only had a single portion of nachos available, but we would not be charged for them. One small portion between four didn’t really suffice as the panini’s we had were also on the small side. Sadly disappointed.

Went in for some lunch , nice venue so had great hope for some decent food . Once the menu arrived my hopes were totally dashed .......... basic description on basic food , I was shocked such a shame as this place could have such a potential . Ordered the soup which turned out to be ‘home made leak and potato ‘ which was very nice , only let down was the sweet long life roll !! Really cost saving a couple of pennies which ironically was accompanied with fresh butter . You could have a really successful business with lovely fresh food with proper descriptions to inspire the customer ......!!!! The soup was a 4 and half but the roll gave a minus effect back to a two points , the butter gave a plus back to three points .

popped into Bistro 52 with my husband when visiting relatives in the area. What a lovely surprise, the ambience was spot on, staff attentive but not intrusive, ordered the grilled sea bass which was cooked to perfection and thoroughly enjoyed my meal. They also had a cocktail menu which was a nice surprise. I have no hesitation in recommending

Really disappointed, used to be a great burger. Burger bun was of the long life variety, so basically foam, fell apart in my hand. Shame as the fries were great, side salad great. Actual burger cooked perfectly and was really tasty. They could have at least toasted the bun first. Place seemed busier than that have seen it before with more staff on too. I just hope that the increase in popularity doesn't reduce their standards.

took my mother inlaw here for lunch as I always try to take her to a different place each time I take her out and I can honestly say that this Bistro was the most disapointing food we have had to pay for in a long long time!!! My ploughmans lunch was quite an apology for a ploughmans lunch, who put cheap grated cheese on a ploughmans lunch? there was some lettuce leaves, a tomato cut into quarters, a half apple cut into quarters which was not at all a fresh apple, a little pot of pickle and the same of mayo along with a few pickled onions, there was a few rolled up slices of the cheapest cold ham that I didnt eat of course and not even a bit of bread of any description which is nornmally a standard accompanimnet with a ploughmans lunch!!! My mother inlaws lubnch was supposed to be scalloped potoatoes along with cajun chicken!!! the potoatoes had been cut into thick slices and obviously put straight into a deep fat fryer and fried to within an inch of their lives along with a breast of chicken that had been cut into two pieces, all of which were burned almost black. never have I seen scalloped potoates cooked in this way in my entire life, they should have been cooked in the oven along with flour and milk at least!! Do these people think we are so uninfromed or stupid that we dont know what scalloped potatoes shoud look and taste like??? £29 for a lunch that was totally unapetising and almost inedible especialy for an elderly person. My mother inlaw did actually say to the server that she had not enjoyed her meal one tiny bit but we were still charged for the full bill. Needless to say we will not be back in this establishment for the longest day we live, and would definietly not recomend it to any one either and would be very honest with my response if asked about it too.

This used to be a great wee café with a good choice of food, however we went in for lunch last week only to find the menu had been changed (not a problem) but the only 'Vegan' option on the menu was a baked potato and beans. Even the soup was Pea and Ham. Not a great choice for vegetarians either, with a very small menu focused towards burgers and fries. They had also crammed in more tables since our previous visit, so it felt very cramp and noisy. Prices are more in line with Edinburgh prices, but the quality isn't there to support it. Obviously its all about the money they can pull and not the quality of food or how the experience is for customers. Won't be returning.

I popped into this wee tea room a week past Saturday morning for their superb cooked breakfast . At 9am there was only one other table occupied with what appeared to be regulars . After taking my order my breakfast soon appeared with an extra rasher of bacon as I had stipulated I don't like black pudding (wish other restaurants did the same) accompanied by 2 slices of brown bread toasted and a lovely latte coffee. It's my first breakfast here for a while but this wee place comes up trumps every time with one of the best breakfasts going and I know of others from Broxburn who also come here specially. Whether it's been breakfast, lunch or high tea I have never been disappointed here. It's clean, lovely friendly owner and staff , WiFi and papers and all attractively priced. Free refills on all hot drinks is a great thing for me too, as I am apt to have a toastie or such likes, followed by a gluten free scone with jam and cream...mmmm, so the extra cuppa is a lovely addition.I also place orders here for take-away home baking and collect anything from gluten free quiches and fruit loaves, to muffins and scones...all baked fresh on the day and made to my personal taste. I got married here in April 2022, from the first meeting Stuart couldn't have been more helpful, we asked for some last minute amends to meals, no issue, there were spare meals on the day due to people not turning up and he dished them out much to my Grandad's delight who put away 6 courses in the end! We also had two guests who were vegan and again, not an issue. We had so many compliments on the food, it was absolutely delicious. We had Razmataz occasions doing the decor/running the day- Andy and Stuart work like a dream team - our day was absolutely perfect. With the two of them in charge, it felt like an expensive hotel wedding but at a fraction of the cost. We were fortunate enough for the weather to be nice so we were able to get out onto the golf course for pictures, Stuart got us a couple of buggies and took us round. The golfers were so kind to let us disturb a couple of their games to let us take pictures. A great venue, with beautiful surroundings and a fantastic team.

After arriving at the coffee shop at 3.30, told that they were closing in half an hour, and if we wanted to sit outside, the tables and chairs would be removed soon, so they could only do take away. That was ok, we only wanted three coffees. Sorry we came in when we did, in hindsight we maybe should have gone to one of the many other coffee shops in Linlithgow, and spent our money there - and sorry for asking how to pronounce the word Neuk.
