Torna a Surriento in Gwynedd

The building this restaurant is in is pretty unremarkable but the food was utterly incredible - best Italian meal I have had in years. My daughters raved about their meals and the service was friendly, prompt and welcoming. An absolute gem and I'm only disappointed I can't give more than 5 stars for the food!

Good food at reasonable prices and a nice place to eat if you're near Bangor in North Wales. Recommended. We'll go again.

Food was lovely, No music or ambience. No sign to find the place or parking. Staff a little slow on service. Table was super cluttered and it wasn't too busy. Felt they were chatting a lot in the bar area.

Can't think of a better place to have a meal on your anniversary.

Desserts served with SQUIRTY CREAM!!! Abomination. Mains were amazing so they ruined the experience with this horrendous plastic cream. May not go again.

Service was bad. Orders were getting mixed up atmosphere or table was good but you could see it. Customers complaining about their orders being mixed up we prebooked but when we got there they did not have a record of our booking. Small things had to ask for parmesan and pepper just bad service

My family and I came here to celebrate my father-in-laws birthday and am so glad we did. The people who worked there were so nice and helpful,andmade us feel so at home as well. The service was excellent and the food was out of this world. My eldest son who is normally a very fussy eater said the Pizza he'd had was the best he'd ever tasted, and my youngest son said the same about his Beef Lasagne. Thank you so much for making us feel so welcome, and we can't wait to come back the next time 😊

Absolutely amazing food and in a lovely spot! I have given it 4/5 as we did stand waiting to be greeted for almost ten minutes (not during a rushed evening) and 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive. Other than that which could of just been a bad day, absolutely lovely restaurant, and by far the best Italian food you will find in Bangor 🍕

Went here as part of a large group. Many weren't satisfied with their meals, staff seemed to take offence. Only thing I can say is that it is authentic Italian as all the staff seem to be Welsh/Italian. Good selection on the menu.

Just a disappointing experience

Hidden gem of a place excellent really excellent.

Chose this restaurant to celebrate our walk up Snowden, arrived early but table sickly cleaned and available. Right next to Bangor pier. Shared the whitebait starter then had the Tono pizza and penne with goats cheese asparagus and sun dried tomatoes which we also shared, washed down with a couple if pints if Peroni and 2 large glasses of Pinot Grigio. Finished with espresso and Limoncello Food was excellent and staff very friendly and courteous and waitress apologized as they were shirt staffed but the service was excellent and we never even noticed.

Oh wow, my first experience at an Italian restaurant but certainly will not be my last. The food, service and atmosphere was second to none. My partner and I both opted for the lasagne., and we ordered a cheesy garlic bread , a side salad and chips to share . Everything was cooked to perfection and the flavours were divine. The service was excellent, attentive without being obtrusive. A wonderfull experience, we certainly will return. Thank you to all concerned.

Reasonably priced, meal was lacking sauce and garlic bread was rock hard and unedible.

Let’s start by the fact that we booked in advance, we showed up on time, stand by the entrance and me and my gf were just ignored by all the waiters, and waited for about 10 minutes until someone approached, she was nice, but not even a slight apology or a single word, gave us the most uncomfortable table for two, in one corner (even though I specifically told them when making the reservation that we had our anniversary date), menu were basically thrown at the table just in the middle and before we were sat, my gf ordered a glass of wine and I jumped to order a bottle, I thought it’ll be better so we can have a chat an a few drinks, we had not a single word from the waitress, not a recommendation and the wine (white wine) came it was not even chilled and didn’t came in a cooler, it was just the bottle, we ordered food and it took almost 30 minutes for our starters and about 45 for the mains, which to be honest was way too much, the place was busy, but not as much as to leave that gap on the service, I requested a glass of water that never appeared and the food, wow, as a chef, I know the struggle in the kitchen sometimes but serve a “carbonara” been so brave of calling a carbonara a bunch of spaghetti with cream and ham, and then call your restaurant Italian is just disrespectful, the soup was clearly heated and tasted like it wasn’t from the day, the calamari was rubbery and just covered with the same soup I was served before, and a side salad that would be served in a pub with more grace even having the bravery of send salad cream sachets that tasted disgusting, chewy bread not even toasted, no olive oil at least, just and incredible deception, even my girlfriend is asking me to stop apologising about the dreadful night o offered on our anniversary. I was really expecting the bear minimum, and didn’t even received that.

Arrived without a reservation. Waitstaff was incredibly rude when we arrived and didn't even consider having us wait, yell us how to organize a reservation, or how long a wait would be. I'm not bothered whatsoever I couldn't get my wife and I a table, but the poor customer service was remarkable. Food looked like it would have been good, but poor service and customer interaction leaves us in the dark... guess we'll never know... don't recommend you do either.

Book in advance because this restaurant is popular and with good reason! The staff were welcoming, polite and took our orders quickly, with our delicious calamari and whitebait starters, main of king prawn linguine and gnocchi exceeded all expectations. Dessert amazing again, tiramisu and profiteroles, were plentiful after 2 courses and we finished off with limoncello shots. We cannot wait to come again! Lovely decor, beautiful location, and we commend the skilful chefs and servers for the unbeatable experience. Thank you

It’s nothing special, tbh. Adequate, filling risotto followed by a very cold and quite tasteless tiramisu. Weak and overpriced coffee, and average wine. Very surprised to see the high ratings on here. The staff seemed dour and uninterested.

Came in for some food but the waiter looked at me at walked away a few times before I managed to say I was looking at the table. Then he spoke to his manager and then point at me to explain the situation. I just walked because I was standing around like a mug with the other patrons looking at me. Disappointing as I was looking to have a large dinner before a journey home.

Lovely authentic Italian food. I had gnocchi with sausage, it was amazing and perfectly cooked. The pizzas are also lovely, quite reasonably priced. I can imagine the views being lovely (pitch black at night!) Car park directly outside Staff were friendly, not the most attentive but it was busy. Would recommend, had a large selection in the menu!

What can I say but absolutely amazing . If you ever need to celebrate a special party , this is the place to go. They were so helpful and polite . Nothing was too much trouble . We were a group of 23 , celebrating a 40th Birthday . They changed the layout of the restaurant to accommodate our party. All the decorations we provided ,which was a lot was no trouble at all. The food was amazing , we didn't have to wait long . Service was exceptional. If you ever want a fantastic meal with great service this is the place to go. Visited for my husband’s birthday. The food was excellent. Everything was freshly cooked and hot. Even though it was busy (it was a Wednesday) we didn’t have to wait too long to be served or wait for our food. Staff were very friendly. Definitely recommend. Made my husband’s birthday.

I can’t give this enough stars! Me And my partner came here on Friday evening for his birthday! We both had starters, mains and shared a dessert and everything we had was 10/10! Compliments to the chef! Stunning presentation to the food! Plenty to chose from! Wines were fantastic also! The waiting staff were lovely and remembered my drinks order every-time I needed a drink without prompt! We will definitely be returning!

Another superb meal last night. A last minute decision and thankfully they were able to fit us in. Could not believe that a table of eight who had booked did not turn up and didn't phone to apologise. They had apparently turned down bookings. Very sad that people behave like that these days especially with a small family business. Anyhow we had a delicious meal. We started with the garlic bread with cheese pizza - just what we needed as we hadn't eaten much yesterday. I then had the pasta with chicken and mushrooms. As always it was totally yummy. Big portion but managed to finish it all with a delicious crisp really fresh side salad! My husband and my brother had their usual pizzas and both said that the pizzas are the best ever. They were enormous with loads of topping. My brother and I managed ice cream although the home-made Tiramisu was so tempting. The table next to us were having the pistachio version of Lemoncello which sadly we could not try as we were all driving but will definitely try it next time. The melon version is delicious. As always the atmosphere was really good. We ended up having a lovely chat with the people on the next table and sadly had we found out earlier they lived in Menai Bridge we could have given them a lift home but their taxi was already outside. This is a very special, very friendly place and is well worth booking. Also you can have a walk on the wonderful Bangor Pier with all its attractions. All in all a really great experience.

Monday 4th September We were staying at the management centre and walked down expecting a nice Italian meal. We got there just after 4 and a couple were sitting on the steps outside although the restaurant was obviously not open. The lady selling tickets on the pier told us it always opened at 4. We had a walk along the pier and back and the restaurant still wasn’t open. The sign on the door said ‘closed- call back later’ We tried to ring but no reply. Another couple arrived and said they’d been trying to ring all afternoon! They were disappointed too! The website was obviously wrong and should be updated when you are not open. At least put a note on the door saying when you are open. We won’t be back!!

What a fantastic Italian restaurant. I would highly recommend booking a table as it was fully booked when we visited. Many thanks to the staff for accommodating us as walk ins for 1hr. The pizzas we ordered were absolutely delicious and the service was very swift as we were extremely hungry after a day of hiking.

Wonderful family run restaurant with exceptional food and atmosphere. I've never had a disappointing meal here.

Came here without a booking which was not advisable however they did accommodate us for an hour agreed at the beginning. We had main course which were all enjoyed. We will come back again during our holiday stay but definitely book in advance next time

We ate here on two consecutive nights in Bangor. The first visit was based on the really good online reviews; the second visit was because our first time was so fantastic.
