Ordered mixed kebab for 2 and some other things. Not the first time I ve ordered from the place and the mixed kebab was not mixed kebab. I got a bunch of chicken wings, one kofta, no doner whatsoever which was supposed to be there) one morceau of lamb shish, and an elongated piece of chicken breast (not shish) that was chewed on one side which is when I stopped eating cause I realised I was eating someone else's leftovers. Never again. Stay away.

I ordered from this place on just eat 2 hours 15 min ago and still nothing! The delivery time said up to 45 mins and it’s been over 2 hours! What on earth

Usually this restaurant isn't an issue, even when ordering online, but today I placed a order over 2 hours ago and still haven't received my order even though the restaurant have marked the order as delivered. Absolutely outrageous and very disappointed.

Amazing food I definitely will try this again

3rd order and 3rd time not got what ordered. Lamb doner never present on all 3 orders. No chicken doner tonight a few wings instead. Cold and bread was crispy. Shame as had good potential but wint order again

Thankfully, I am not from this area, here I will share my traumatic experience with my family at the LOW - rak restaurant. We were seated upstairs next to a large group by a very energetic waiter who was also serving that large group. At first we appreciated the service until we began to realise he was very manipulative, loud, embarrassing and over the top. I will get into detail why. We waited about 15 mins until he was ready to take our order. Baring in mind, he was the only waiter running around. We ordered 2x chicken platters with the rice. Unfortunately, majority of the chicken/kebab was raw! I took a bite, and had to get it back out again. My sister was sick after the food and threw up. I have provided an image for proof of the raw food. I was surprised myself as I figured there are other reviews with the same complaint about raw food being served here. As there was 5 of us with such less space, my sister requested the energetic waiter for some extra plates. His response was a game changer and disgustingly shocking. He goes, “why do you need more plates, you have plates already why do you need more”. He was that loud he made everyone look and there was awkward silence. At this point I felt like walking out and this waiter set his standards at the lowest. Every time he approached the table he would make a weird comment saying “my goal is to make you happy, you know”. But instead, he made us all feel uncomfortable. After we finished with the food (even though we did not finish anything as the food was raw and tasteless) no one approached us for the bill so we head downstairs where we came face to face again with the disrespectful waiter. If only I got his name. There is less space near the counter where you pay and as we was walking he goes “that’s it, you don’t wanna end up in the kitchen”. Who says that to their customers? This place is a joke cos of this waiter and at that moment I had to frown as I was fed up of this man. I had to run and buy a McFlurry from mc Donald’s to clear my system as I started to get belly aches. This place needs a health visitor to investigate their kitchen and staff. To conclude , viewers please avoid this place at any cost to prevent any health issues such as food poisoning and viruses. This place is not toprak it’s rawrack.

The food was great 🎉 kudo's to the chef and one of the ladies serving us. The lady was soooo polite and attended to us so well! She wore all black. 5 star to those guys! Unfortunately I did not get the name of the second person serving us, she was so flippant throughout! Poured food on us when passing, dumped plates on us and pushed us out of her way, etc... It was a celebration for us so we ignored her.

Overall it wasn't very pleasant.. I think price is too much if you compare with portions. Entrance has a faulty door pavement so you have to be careful about not to fall.

We went in with 2 adults and 2 children, we were seated upstairs and the male waiter started to tell the children off immediately, when there was no1 in the restaurant other than us. He told them to sit down and be quiet. He then returned to take our order and started to yell at the children again telling them to be quiet. This was very upsetting we cane down stairs and asked for the manager and as we were explaining he ran downstairs and started shouting saying your children were being noisy and yelling at us as we walked out. This place is not child friendly and the staff member was very disrespectful. He made the children so upset they ended up in tears and kept repeating the man was very rude to us.

Decent Turkish food but nothing exceptional in taste.

10/10 Food , definitely my top 10 in Luton :)

One of the best places to eat out. Note sure why people have under rated it but the staff is very polite and the service is impeccable. Food is always served hot and fresh.

This has to be one of the worse Turkish takeaways I have had, it was that bad I only managed a spoon full of the hard oily rice! The chips were pale and soggy! The chicken wings looked like they had been microwaved! Waste of money will not be ordering again.

The price were increased but that's understandable but the thing is the portions were divided by 2 to what it was before. On the mix for 2 we always get it was the 2 different rice some grilled vegetables on the sides then a "bed" of chicken doner and lamb doner then on top the chicken shish, lamb shish and one Adana kebab. Now you can forget about the chicken doner and lamb doner just pieces of chicken some pieces of lamb and one kofta and the salad in very small plate no oil and vinegar as well

They've always treated me good the few times ive been in, The food is delicious, also its a family ran restaurant

If you leaving this area you should visit this place I had a lahmacun and this is the best one I had in UK well done guys clean and friendly 👏

Not nice think twice before you buy and pay the price

We all enjoy our food here they offer both dine in and take away services but nothing beats going in there 2 eat . We have never had a bad meal and great value for money ! The waiter who take care of the floor is an absolute credit to their business. He can't do enough for you and goes above and beyond. Always there with a smile and flawless service 😊 We will be back over and over again !!

Chance find as the Polish place next door was closing. Very friendly and attentive staff. The food was great and reasonable value. Plenty of vegetarian options as well as tasty grilled meats. Would go again.

Well... where to begin ? Not much of a negative review guy but this time they went over the line. They forgot to bring a quarter of the order, we called, we asked for the rest of it, they said they’ll deliver in no time. They came back with the rest, and again ... they forgot the chips. The meat was alright-ish. Chicken was a bit undercooked but I can close my eyes to that(not the 1st restaurant to serve undercooked chicken) I hope this will make them re-think how they manage the orders.

Just came toprak all the way from bedford as it was my favourite food place but unfortunately the lad said we have closed early at 10.00pm but saw few people eating, they should change the timing on website because its totally wastage of my time and fuel.

Lovely meal again, no alcohol at the moment but will have licence soon and the fifth star with it.

Attended here a few weeks ago - wanted to order fish as my main - was promptly told I would have to wait 30 minutes for the fish to be defrosted and for it to then be cooked so it was not an item I could order? Not sure why it is on the menu if that is the position?? Had the chicken shish which was ok - have had better. Not sure I will return.

Chicken wings were under cooked, the whole experiance was a waste as my other halfs food was bland and the waitress was so busy in talking to a single person that she didnt really bother about us. I'm sorry for writing this but we are so dissapointed, we wont be going back

Went to this place few times it used to be a good place and food and service was good. Unfortunately its gone downhill went to eat with family waited 10 minutes for somebody to come and take an order.then food arrived clearly waitress that was serving us didnt want to do her job.she was rude and they were arguing with the other staff i felt as i am forcing them to serve me.this place was one of the best places to eat but its gone i am not going back again .

If i could give zero star i would. Went to eat at toprak,we order food that we felt would be enough for us as we were not that hungry. The staff told us we need to order more food or leave. When we said we didn't feel like we need to order more the waiter's told us there is cctv and the boss is watching from home and would not allow us to order less food. As working in customers is always right but the rude staff at toprak don't have same beliefs and it's my choice how much food i want to order not the restaurants. Would not recommend to anyone to go there and experience the same insults that my family felt.

Absolutely fuming right now was a regular customer came here every week and used to oder same thing a platter for 2 people and we were 4 adults but we weren't that hungry but the very rude unprofessional guy came to us and said if u don't oder more food leave discriminating us because of our looks Absolutely appaled will never ever go again 😡😡😡

Not very polite, didn’t have the salmon so asked for cheese burger as I went with my cousin and didn’t really want Turkish food. I was told it’s a kids meal (I am paying so why should it matter if it’s a kids meal I wasn’t sooo hungry) the waiter had the audacity to say like it says on the menu it’s a kids meal I can’t we’ve that….. okay then but the other waiter had promised bread and salad for starter and we were not given this until after our meals had arrived. They were not polite and the waiter himself didn’t understand English and needed help from another one. Not happy with the service they provided! P.s. why serve alcohol in the same room you have a decoration pieces of allah and prophet Mohammed…. Disrespectful!!!!!!!!!!

Me and my friends went to eat here. I hadn't been since Eat Out to Help Out and thought it would be just as good. Long story short we all left with upset stomach's. They tried to tell me that lamb was pink due to the seasonings. When we left they where grilling the same meal for someone else and it was BROWN. They changed my friends meal because even they could tell something was wrong with the meat. We where all visibly sick. I ate quite a bit of the pink lamb and had food poisoning.

Really poor value for money would not recommend. Very small portion sizes! I ordered a large lamb shish and got a tiny little portion I dread to think what a small or regular portion would be! Avoid there are nicer places to eat!

I ordered a large portion of lamb Shish and this was the portion size Hardly any rice and I paid £3.60 extra for a large. Don't order from here ! When we called them they didn't care.

Atmosphere was nice, they don't do tap water and they didn't have Lamachun or Selma roll Behti. Price was decent compared to London prices.

The dish i had was terrible. It was cold and had no taste or flavour what so ever. I had the iskender which is a dish I know very well send have tasted in other places. Definitely wouldn't come here again and waste my money.

We ordered chicken wings with rice and it was the most disgusting food I have ever had in my life. I threw everything away as I couldn’t eat it. It was a total waste of money. The chicken and rice was bland and felt like it had been tossed in water and taken out. Regretted going here so badly!

1st time ordering from here and we won’t be ordering again. We opened the mixed starter to find that the kofte was raw. All of them. They also looked a mess too. You could clearly see that they were raw before you even opened them up as they were all broken. The food was cold and just had very little taste. I have given 2 stars as there was a decent amount of food and the shish was nice. Very expensive for the quality.

Exceptional mezze in Luton great service and staff and unbelievably cheap for great quality, and you can talk to people instead of using some daft useless app. They arranged deliver from Luton to Dunstable which I was happy to pay for. Even for the lift to the cash point because the hotel is card only, I gave the driver extra and a tip. Still top service. Teshekuderem

The place is pleasant but the food is very undesirable. I ordered the famous Moussaka with my friends and not only didn't taste like food but it was wrapped in plastic wrap. I don't understand what this dish is. I served Moussaka in Turkish restaurants, but here at Toprak almost all the food doesn't taste good. £ 10 for a few potatoes, a slice of eggplant and melted cheese, poor and tasteless. I remarked to the waitress for the foils forgotten on the plate, she didn't even apologize or offer us anything else to eat. 👇👇👇

Horrible customer service. The waitress who served me was very rude and argued with me and my friend. Refused to give more than one glass of tap water. Food was cold and bland. Spoke to the "manager" who didn't take the whole situation seriously. Will not be visiting again.

Food is good but portion size is so small. Almost five quids for hummus and when it comes in a flat plate, you would know two spoon full scattered in a cheap way. Don't offer even complimentary bread. Food presentation does not translate at all to the price.

Went here this evening. Had adana kebab which tried and tested at other places but this food was so bland no flavour whatsoever the rice was like out of a packet or uncle Ben's and the salad was swimming in oil. Very tasteless meal and won't be back!

Terrible terrible experience. We ordered for my dads birthday and it took 1hr 45 mins despite saying 30mins while ordering. The service while calling the restaurant to ask when the would arrive was horrible. They said that they had things to do so couldn’t stay on the phone. The poor man that delivered the food said he didn’t work for the restaurant or Just Eat, he was just helping out. He had the wrong postcode. Food arrived missing 3 dishes, one of which was my main dish. We asked them about it and they said to talk to Just Eat - which you can’t as they haven’t answered. We ordered a takeaway for a special occasion and it was ruined. We haven’t had any money back and the family evening was really ruined which I’m upset about. Do not risk ordering from this place.

I ate here a few years ago with friends when visiting Luton & found it good & tasty so went again yesterday. I was looking forward to vegetarian moussaka but after one spoonful I could eat no more- there was so much chilli that burnt my mouth. Normally I can manage a mild heat but this was excessive. Even my friend who normally eats hot curries said it was too hot for her. The waitress told us that customers in Luton demand a lot of chilli & complain if it's not added.I quite understand this but then it's not proper Turkish food. I've been 6 times to Turkey & never experienced this. So I suggest that you add just a little & keep chilli sauce on the table for those customers who demand it. I've been working in Luton for a few days and was struggling to find anywhere half decent to eat when I stumbled across Toprak. From the outside the restaurant windows were clean and the place seemed well cared for, which was a good start compared to many of the other places I'd looked at. The waiter was polite and helpful and the food was fresh and tasty. I had a bean salad to start and a lamb shish for the main and I really enjoyed both. Thanks.

I want to eat Turkish lahmacun from a Turkish shop but unfortunately it was disappointment. Aubergine meze was nice because of being chargrilled but lahmacun was bad :( Maybe because of ordering takeaway, I don’t know. Also I am overcharged for collection when I called the restaurant instead of ordering online. It was £7.50 online but I paid £8.45 but made me feel abused. And after 2 mins I saw that other shop sells lahmacun for £3. I had it coming by going there in spite of bad remarks.

Small portions and high priced, not worth it, used to be good few years ago, it was our go to place as a family of 5 every weekend. Not anymore. Waiter once charged £1 per glass of tap water, I will never forget that, dissapointed.

We ordered 2 platters for a group of 8 and the portions were very generous, with Sheek kebabs, donor, chicken, ribs and lots or rice and barley. Fresh warm bread was also provided. Food was delicious and the decor was nice. Will come again.

The person at the counter asked us to pay we decided to pay by card as we got our card out he put the amount needed to pay in and he took the card machine and cancelled the payment and said that our system was bad and in this pandemic no one really carries cash with them to keep people safe he forced us to go to the cash bank down the road with my 4 children and gave the money returning home unpleased honestly i would recommend no one to come here !

Disastrous restaurant now in different hands. Went there and tried to get tap water with our meal for my wife but they refused. When I pointed out that as they are now a licensed premises they cannot do that as it goes against their licensing rules we were asked to leave. When I showed evidence they became abusive and very confrontational. Was basically told not to come back. So, we wont, and I suggest that if you do go there then do not complain unless you are prepared to be abused. Its a shame as it used to be a great restaurant. The owner seemed ok but his son (the head chef apparently) was the main instigator and the cause of the issue. ****Edit, we tried the restaurant again. Much much better experience this time. Food was nice and plentiful. Staff were lovely and we left content. Shame they changed the iskender though! I have changed the review score back to 4 stars as the experience was back to what we remember of old.

They Hv nice food options !!!! Chiken shawarma is very nice from TOPRAK !!! Only prices are bit high !!! Chiken stake for almost 13 pounds and they don’t serve any stake sauce with it it’s well over price over all nice place to visit comfortable place

Food was cold and 45 minutes late. No answer from the restaurant when trying to contact the. Meat very chewy and eneded up with the dog.

Chose a vegetarian option. The kebab... I fully appreciate this was in the pan but definitely not an authentic dish. Brussels, sweetcorn,peas etc.. thats a frozen mix of vegetables with sauce. Rice was nice

I dined in with a friend and we both ordered the lamb Iskender which is a traditional Turkish dish made of lamb doner on a bed of bread which is topped with tomato sauce and yoghurt. When the food arrived it looked nothing like an Iskender kebab. A small pile of dry doner meat sitting on what seemed to be a couple of croutons topped with a spoon of tomato sauce. Mentioned to the waitress if this is what an Iskender kebab should look like, to which I was not given an answer but told to go and speak to the chef. I took both our plates to the chef and explained the situation and expressed why we weren't happy with the food and asked if could be made again with a ‘layer of pita bread’ as the menu suggests. By this time the doner had gone cold but the chef/owner refused to serve it with fresh doner. At this point I was very angry and said that I will leave it and I am not happy at all with the food. The owner went to sum up the total and knowing that the food had hardly been touched, still charged us for the mains. I asked if he was happy to charge us for a main course which we were unhappy with and hardly ate, and he responded with ‘yes I am very happy to charge for that’. I can honestly and sadly say it has been the most unpleasant experience at any Turkish restaurant that I have been to. £29.50 down for two soft drinks and a lachmacun. Will not be going back for sure.

I've been living in Luton for work and Toprak restaurant sustains my gargantuan efforts admirably. I'm paid for my meals through work and it's ok, but let bing away from home and my kitchen poses real food problems. I'm a real food foodie wholefoodie and the need more than meat carbs and beer. I need green stuff, Toprak restaurant delete Vers the perfect balance of amazing meat wonderful rice dishes and fantastic salads all presented in lovely turkey ah style surroundings. I say Turkish style... That is wholly my assumption It is whoever the most nourishing and pleasant option in the town that's close to the Premier Inn where I stay.O might add I have learned enough Turkish to say Hello how are you? Good, and thank you due to the ever welcoming staff so double bubble bonus.

First time coming and it was very bland, we got the mix grill and the meat was flavourless. We ordered chips and we never got them. Over all the food was cold. Thought I'd order food for a little celebration but to my dissapointment the portion size of the 'chef special' was very small. The food was very bland nothing compared to any other Turkish food I've had. The rice is bland and again not what I expected. Paid good money for a very dissapointing dinner!!!

Ordered Chef Special through UberEats. Says it was for 5 people, it's not, the 3 of us finished the food (but didn't enjoy it, was just hungry!) Aside from the portions, my main gripe was that the meat tasted bland and watery. What a disappointment! Our first and last experience with these guys.
