Tony Macaroni in Dundee City

Disappointed as i know the restaurant can do better. We were a large table of 16 on a busy evening but we were extremely disappointed with the service we received. We were in the restaurant for well over two hours and in that time all we had was a main course and one round of drinks. We asked to order more drinks but the waitress never came back to take our order and we weren't even offered the dessert menu. It took over an hour from placing our food order to the food starting to come out and by the time the last of us were served our meals some of us had finished, just as well really as if they'd waited till we were all served, their meals would have been cold. We weren't asked how our meals were till we'd all stopped eating which by then is a bit late to be asking. Hopefully our next experience will be much better.

Experience wasnt great ordered drinks, waited well over an hour for meal, no one came to ask if more drinks were needed which would have been nice, unlikely to be back.

Great sharing platter, pizza was a little spicy in concentrated areas but tasty. Service was friendly and prompt. Would recommend 👌

The food is good but the preparation time is very long, we waited more or less an hour. The location is gorgeous.

Up from Edinburgh for the night, staying at the Premier Inn Centre Hotel, the Beefeater next to it weren't taking bookings on a busy Saturday night because of a member of staff family emergency. So we headed along to Tony's, they were very busy, but told to come back in 30mins. Food was great, service very friendly too.

Good place, excellent service, then the Italian food, I can't complain.

Have been here two days in a row fir dinner. So happy we did! Super friendly staff, food is excellent and the restaurant is nice, clean and has a great atmosphere. We had a pizza to share yesterday, and today Spaghetti Bolognese and Risotto Bolognese with garlic bread. The portions are generous! Everything was so tasty and beautifully precented. This is one of our new favourite restaurants in Dundee.

Arrived freezing cold. Very disappointing

We called in for lunch after visiting the V&A. We were welcomed as soon as we arrived. The restaurant wasn’t busy (2pm on a Tuesday). Ordered chicken Caesar salad and salmon & pasta with pesto. Both arrived quickly. Portions were good & tasty. The bill wasn’t expensive considering what we had. Would highly recommend a lunchtime visit. We’ll certainly drop in the next time we’re in Dundee.

Very busy but drinks & starters served very quickly - longer wait for mains but tobe expected as to how busy they were - good atmosphere & drinks helped ease the wait!

SENSATIONAL FOOD, I LOVED IT, I WOULD DEFINITELY COME BACK. Excellent and fair price and very attentive and polite staff. The carbonara is delicious

Great food, lovely service but looks like the place needs a renovation. Entire bar leaking water with paper towels all around it! Looks a state and sitting right next to it smells really bad too. A shame because everything else was spot on.

Very good food and service., Ordered a spaghetti carbonara and a pizza and both were very good. Tip is that booking a table can be very crowded

Gareth was very welcoming, friendly and professional. We were served by Anna who was efficient, friendly and attentive. We were visiting from the Midlands and wish were had a Tony Macaroni near us. Great choice great value great selection. Delicious.

It was very nice because the food was very nice and the food was very nice and the staff are very nice escipally Chris one of the staff there and the music wasn’t very loud.

As I walk in The most amazing service the establishment is impeccable I’m 40 and hands down between expensive stake houses and arty farty restaurants that have a price tag that the quality doesn’t even match…trust me when I say that for price and portion! Out of this world…quality if 10 is the bar here’s a 20 and the whole team is amazing and welcoming heart warming and kind, driven by Garath Evans on the helm….just an eye opening experience to how an amazing restaurant should be run with clean fresh food great service and amazing prices.i can only say thank you to all the staff for opening my eyes to A star food at affordable prices,you will not regret the hospitality or quality at this restaurant.

Never arrived. Driver was lovely but the restaurant didn’t give him our food. Still have heard nothing despite filling out the form for a refund. Suspect nobody will even read this comment

5 of us. Squeezed into a booth. Quite uncomfortable. Waited an hour and ten minutes for meal. Two of us had a chicken pasta dish. the tiniest amount of chicken - other promised ingredients unseen. Worst rip off ever!!!

Place is clean & tidy. 5 of us for a late lunch,got our drinks & starters from a young waiter who was very polite, then we were served by a waitress which was like she didnt want to be there then starters came which were great then the mains arrived all the pizzas were brilliant macaroni was very bland & cold ,burger wasn't up to much either we did say to the waitress but she never said anything just took it all away,Anyway asked for the bill which came then the waitress brought another bill which she said had the service charge taken off but weird as it was same price as first bill..... sorry but I won't be back

Don't think we'd realised this was a chain so wasn't exactly a unique or high class experience but the menu was extensive and the food was good. Similar experience to going to a Pizza Express I would say though a bit cheaper. Would suit families and big groups but maybe not for a date night.

Reserved online for 9pm. Called me at 8.30pm ‘we’ve run out of lots of things - including pizza dough, the kitchen closes at 9pm sharp’. Ok I get it - you all want to finish early and couldn’t care less about customers. Great advert for Scotland..

Good quality pizzas at decent prices

I thoroughly enjoyed the seating at this restaurant, with its abundance of tables. The sourdough was exquisite and the pizza was exceptional, particularly the chicken variety. The pasta with salmon had a unique and delightful flavour that I highly recommend trying. However, I did find the halal options to be quite limited, with most meat choices being pork-based. Although I had hoped to indulge in lasagna, it was regrettably all pork. I would like to recommend that the restaurant consider improving its menu, as it is quite extensive and the font size is rather small. Additionally, the use of squares in the text layout can be a bit distracting and challenging to read. Overall, it was a positive dining experience, and I especially appreciated the pizza and sourdough. I would definitely return for these items.

Everything hot, tasty and quick delivery, pizza delicious we got chorizo (amazing) and cipolla bbq -changed base but wish I didnt- no bbq taste , pollo Cajun chicken pasta fabulous, unfortunately the arrabbiata wasn’t upto much, boring and tasteless.

I've been twice and both times the food was very disappointing. Had mushroom risotto and macaroni cheese. One would think that since the restaurant has macaroni in name, it would be good. Wrong. No flavour at all, very bland. Mac&cheese in Costa is better somehow. Service is ok, the atmosphere is worse or similar to big Wetherspoons restaurants.

Must be getting old, very noisy, unable to chat at table because of volume in restaurant. Everyone else looked very happy and relaxed though.

Me and my partner went and had a table reserved however we were seated in a place under the stairwell. Then after ordering waited 40 minutes for our food. When I asked a waiter they came back and told me that the kitchen was busy. I agreed then another waiter came back and told me that the order hadn’t been put through. After enquiring this was the case. We waited for 30 more minutes before having to ask again in which I was thinking of leaving. Our waiter told me that the food would not be long and was rather unpleasant. Then when paying I saw the menu stating you had an added tip value placed upon your order on top of the price already pre determined. So I was paying also for bad service. I would not recommend and I will not be back.

We've been here plenty of times but tonight's service stood out. We were served by Kit, who was super friendly and attentive the entire time. Whenever they weren't actively serving a table, they were hard at work cleaning and sorting the dining area out; showing high standards in every possible sense. I don't think I saw them stand still for a minute during my entire meal! On our way out the door, we were then warmly sent off by Kit which was a lovely gesture. It's not everyday you're shown such warm hospitality, especially on a busy Friday night. Thank you!! :)

shocking service, got seated away from the main restaurant and got forgotten about, took over 30 minutes for a waiter to take drink orders, when drinks came out glasses were dirty and it was completely off putting. we had asked to move tables as we felt we were put in the corner and ignored, felt although our waitress was uninterested and she then got her (i assume) supervisor, when said supervisor came over, he handled the situation unprofessionally. the food was even more disappointing pizza wasnt sliced after asking for it to be, and the mac n cheese was very bland with no flavour, when bill came out there was a 10% service charge already put on the bill and we felt awkward asking for it to be taken off.

The pizza we bought as take away was great and the whole family enjoyed it. Reasonable size for younger kids pizzas as well. The restaurant was nice looking and busy. Seemed a bit disorganized with the staff when going there physically to order take away and they seemed to only have 1 payment terminal. But the staff was helpful and friendly when you got a hold of them and they got the payment terminal.

Great value Sunday special menu. Venue can get noisy but that's because it's good for large parties, which means lots of chatting - and there's something for everyone on the menu. Helpful friendly staff. Good for families.

Would give 6 stars if I could. 10/10 best restaurant I’ve ever been to. Could not fault, Tony the chef even came out at the end.

Took our grandson for lunch today He & grandma, had the macaroni TBH the sauce was still floury, it needed a few more minutes cooking I had the pizza, it was great, could not fault it, reccomended

A good place to eat. The food is very good but not all the dishes. For example I have eaten better carbonara in other places and the same applies for the BBQ pizza. In both choices it seemed like something was missing. This is a personal opinion and does not reflect the overall quality of the food. Regarding the place the only thing I did not like was the noise. Of course in a big place like that noise is something you cannot avoid.

Terrible food. £11 macaroni cheese the most badic dish, it was dry,,really really dry. No sauce just very dry. Wont be ordering from here again.

**Review of Tony Macaroni, Dundee** I recently dined at Tony Macaroni in Dundee and had a rather disappointing experience. When I tried to sprinkle some salt on my meal, the cap of the salt shaker was loose and the entire contents poured onto my plate. When I brought this to the waitress's attention, she took my plate and, instead of providing a new chicken starter, simply deep-fried the same overly salty piece of chicken again. Unsurprisingly, it was still far too salty to eat. Additionally, when I ordered a Coke, I was served a glass that was almost entirely filled with ice, leaving me with only a few sips of the actual drink. Overall, the quality of service and attention to detail were quite lacking. This experience was far from what I expected and left me quite dissatisfied.

Very disappointing the pizza was very burnt and the bruschetta. Cold pizza isn’t nice. better eating in the restaurant

I eat here very regularly, it’s wonderfully decorated and the food was great. Staff were professional and very helpful.

Excellent place to meet friends and eat. Staff perfectly polite and efficient. Go and see for yourself. I'll definitely be going again when I visit Dundee.

A nice place to go for lunch. Would recommend the Salmon pasta, the Macaroni cheese and the option to have half pizza and pasta . Amazing menu choices to choose from from the stsrters to the main and great portion sizes. Professional manager and staff were lovely and efficient and accomodating.

2nd visit. Food was good, service was polite and curteous. Only one small comment. Was asked how meal was when i had barely started. Would advise to wait a bit longer. Otherwise would certainly recommend. ⁰

I was actually at Yamm a couple of doors up. The food was mediocre. Should have gone to Tony Macaroni.

I've been living in more than 6 different countries from Far East Asia to the Middle East, now travelling in the UK, this is one of the best pastas I've ever tried, no exaggeration. After a couple of days of traveling in the UK, my partner and I arrived at a farm in Scotland and were looking for a nice pasta place but didn't expect much. But Tony Macaroni's Rigatoni and pizza were beyond our expectations, and we can confirm that it's the best Italian we've tried! And their buttered spinach was so yummy

The order never arrived - I tried calling the place to enquire but after many attempts nobody picked up.

First class service and a really delicious (but very large) chicken caesar salad. Couldn't fault anything. Highly recommended 👌

Bad pizza. We both got pizza and we both got rushed undercooked pies. Apps were enough to get by, but like our pies they were rushed . Our server killed it and she was even in the weeds. Not a bad place just don’t expect good Italian food.

We had booked a table for sixteen, which can sometimes be a bit problematic. But Tony Macaroni took great care of us. The staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable, and the meals and drinks were excellent.

Very pleasant place to go for lunch. The selection on the menu is huge, definitely something for everyone there, and the price is very reasonable.

A large family restaurant with a huge menu. The food and service were excellent and it’s definitely the best place in town to eat. The prices were very reasonable. It is advisable to make a reservation especially at the weekend.

Everything is at a decent, correct level. Heavy traffic. The place doesn't get 5 stars from me because it doesn't stand out in any way... Overall, I can recommend it. You will definitely not be disappointed.

don't know what that was you sent me but that macaroni was not good, was dry!! no taste at all!! was nothing like what you get in the restaurant. was a total waste of money got put in the bin. the bruchetta was good tho so at least I wasn't completely starving.

Dreadful indifferent service , hard to believe it could be so bad. Avoid at all cost would be my advice . I have been there before and thought to give it a second chance. No improvement so I assume mediocrity comes as standard .

Food was absolutely delicious as per usual and the service was really quick. The male waiter, didn’t catch his name, was friendly and very attentive.

I phoned up to book a table person on the phone said they had a gluten free menu when I got to restaurant they said they didn't have a gluten free menu and couldn't promise it wouldn't be contaminated.

Very noisy but we did not fixate on this as that tends to mean that the food is of good quality. They did not have the wine selection we are used to but as a limited eatery it was more than a worth while sojourn.

I’m very dissatisfied with the pizza I have received today. I ordered a cipolla bbq pizza because it used to taste so good! But my goodness there was barely any sauce! toppings were just thrown on with no care in the world, the crust was burnt and there were chillies when I specified I didn’t want any chillies. This was so disappointing and not worth the money I had to spend on it.

The table we were given was right beside the door and very draughty. I asked if we could change our table and this was done without a second thought. The meal was delicious and the red wine (Primitivo) was one of the best I have ever tasted. There was a 10% service charge which our waitress brought to our attention, which was very good. We have been in other restaurants where staff weren’t so forthcoming. Would definitely go back.

The overall experience was good. Nice friendly manager, but the waitress lacked enthusiasm.

Ordered starters at £8.95 each ,cheesy mushrooms with garlic dip and chicken wings done in a lovely sauce.Not worth the money as got 5 mushrooms and 5 chicken wings.So very overpriced.
