Tonnbo in Enfield

Ordered for takeaway. Driver turns up saying he forgot the card machine. Driver said he didn’t have any change either. Says on the website you can pay with card or cash. No apology . Portion sizes are incredibly small. I’ve eaten in the restaurant and had a much better experience. Not worth the takeaway experience ,you honestly get better value from Asda sushi. I e mailed my concerns and was totally ignored. At the very least an apology for the pathetic driver service of not card machine or change or option to pay on line. Service like a back street takeaway. Please don’t bother.

Ordered over £100 worth of food for a birthday and was very disappointed. The ‘deluxe’ platter which was a third of the cost was simply 2 basic trays of sushi - no platter and not deluxe. It also had been forgotten as part of the delivery and needed the driver to come back. Upon complaining to Tonnbo about this, they simply asked us if we wanted to buy more food instead of offering anything out. The food can be nice at times but the customer service is not great unfortunately.

Tonnbo has been our favourite restaurant in the area ever since they opened,for a long time we were very regular customers, ordering/dining in nearly every week.For delivery at home they have always taken longer than average (despite us living 5min by car from the restaurant) but as the delivery is free and the food has always been excellent, we never complained. Last night we ordered through their website as we always do and received a confirmation email,but one hour and a half later still no food, so we started calling the restaurant. Two hours in, still no one answered the phone, so I emailed them and messaged on Instagram. By this point we were starving and have no idea if our food is coming so we had to order from elsewhere. Now nearly 24 hours later still no communication from the restaurant, no email, phone call or message to apologize or explain why they accepted orders when they must have been either closed or too busy. There was no mention on the website of the restaurant being closed or too busy to take orders, in fact according to both the website and Google the restaurant should have been open and the order was accepted and confirmed by email. Thankfully payment is not taken at the time of ordering but for us to have been waiting starving for 2 hours with no information from the restaurant, waiting for food that was never going to come and for them to still not get in touch with us 24h later has been extremely disappointing.

We ordered via the online system at 6PM and the food arrived at 7:50PM. It was clear that the starters had been put in the takeaway containers some time ago as they were stone cold and sloppy wet. Completely inedible. The Gyoza was waxy tasting. We called twice to see where our order was and the person was rude and said 'i don't know what time you will get your food'. Very unhappy with the service and food. Will not be ordering again.

Been here for takeaway 3 times now and I've been happy each time. They have incorporated many different cuisines into the menu and it works. Not the greatest fan of the Korean wings (not authentic enough imo) but everything else is usually on point. Especially the sushi and Hong Kong menu. Rice is always cooked to perfection too.

We have been going to Tonnbo since it opened last year, and the food is consistently of a very high quality. Whilst the sushi is very good, the Chinese food on offer is definitely the best in the district. Always fresh and unlike most Chinese take-outs these days, you're not rolling the dice - the food will never disappoint.

An excellent selection of fresh food. Really nice helpful staff. Looking forward to coming back soon.

Poor food - rubbery squid, soggy tempura, dry chicken katsu. Won’t be eating here again, unfortunately.

I’ve been to Tonnbo on many occasions and tried a lot of their dishes. Their sushi is fantastic. It’s freshly prepared and is presented excellently. It’s also half price between 12-3pm and 10-11pm (although this means you can’t take it away) which makes it an absolute bargain. The other dishes, such as the noodles,rice, the “volcano”, prawn toast, spring rolls, ramen and more, are also just as fresh, perfectly prepared every time, and taste better than anything in the area, or even (in my experience) in London. Service is always very friendly and efficient also. If you’re a sushi, or general food fan, I can not recommend this place enough. It’s the first restaurant I take visitors whenever they’re here for lunch and they’ve never been disappointed.

Lovely sushi and noodles. Definitely recommend we been a few times and always received great service & food. Great prices too. We will definitely be back.

My wife and I go on a regular basis for the sushi lunch menu at half price. It is excellent and the type of place Southgate has been waiting for.

Food is impeccable!Authentic food, made fresh, full of flavour and good presentation. There should be age restriction for eat as much as you like, not height restriction.

Lovely freshly prepared food. Service was great. Will visit again. Nice to have somewhere local to pop into without trekking into the city.
