Toninos in South Kesteven

My second recent visit here, the first being 2 of us, last night was 11 of us for a friends special birthday. Liaising with pre-orders was great but flexible for the birthday girl to order on the day. The food was all really good and came together, my calamari starter was one of the best I have had and my King Prawns were massive. Little touches like storing the birthday cake for us went the extra steps. Staff were really friendly. I will be back

Had a fantastic family dinner at Tonino's last night! The food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere was so cozy. Everything from the starters to the mains was cooked to perfection. Best risotto and calzone pizza ever had. Definitely recommend giving it a try if you're in the area. 🇮🇹🍕

Really sad meal, staff were all lovely and efficient. I received the wrong starter initially, not a problem we all make mistakes…. then immediately out came . My mozzarella, tomato and basil starter which was really cold, tasteless tomatoes, probably cheap English, partners mussels were tiny and loads of shells he picked up were empty., all very salty. Pizza…dry old bread, bases must have been bought in , never left my bread before and topping very meagre. Partners seafood tagliatelle had crab sticks in it!!!!!.. I don’t feel they are using good quality produce. Chefs kept looking out at the tables, almost felt like they were seeing if people were buying it. This may have been a decent Italian once but it really is not now. Such a shame been waiting to try this place, think the new management are living off the previous owners name and reviews.The main came immediately after the starter. There must be a lot of frozen produce as they were sending food out at a rate of knots.

Visited many times in the past few years, this was our first visit since change of ownership and unfortunately will be the last. What can one say, once was a fantastic Italian, now not even average. We had garlic bread for a starter, didn’t taste of garlic more of salt.Next two pasta main courses, both were served in a watery sauce which didn’t have any taste. The chicken had been cut into small cubes and had a rubbery consistency. The staff seemed stressed and clearly had little understanding of the menu as we were both served the wrong dishes. The only positive points, the food luckily was not over priced and the lager was cold.

Italian cuisine at its best! It's my husband's birthday (01 August 2024) and what a treat! We had Calamari Fritti for starters - crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, I had Spaghetti Gamberoni for my main - succulent king prawns, pasta cooked al dente, with a lovely drizzle of white wine sauce, perfumed with garlic, chilli, and colourful cherry tomatoes and parsley. My husband had the Vitello Al Vino Blanco, pan fried escalops of veal, cooked with white wine, garlic and parsley, rounded up with roasted vegetable. And for dessert, Homemade Tiramisu, light and just the right sweetness. I've been to Tonino's three times now (my husband's first) and I definitely recommend it - lovely food, friendly and efficient staff, great atmosphere...

Just want to say Thankyou for our winning vouchers, My family and I came in this week and we had a lovely meal, waiters and waitress were so lovely. Nothing was too much trouble, food was lovely and fresh and well presented. Atmosphere was nice and calm. Thank you guys, keep up the good work 🫶

Italy in the heart of Market Deeping. What a fabulous find of this nice little cosy restaurant. Variety of food including pizza pasta lasagna is so flavourful that you want more of it. Wine selection were also good and staff's were very attentive but not to pushing for a drink like in other restaurant. Kids meal was really good for our 12 year old. She loved the pasta so much that she said its exactly the same that she had in Italy. The restaurant was almost full with other Diner enjoying as well. We will definitely be back again wheb we visit Peterborough again.

Honest review ,first hand experience,very crammed in the restaurant,table wasn’t ready and told there’s a pub round the corner if you want to go and wait ,walked out without having our meal ,lady on front desk very arrogant and rude ,was offered a meal free which we excepted and had it delivery wish I had nt bothered ,hardly any toppings on pizzas ,salad consisted of 2 slices tomato and a piece of lettuce,will never recommend this restaurant to any one

Food is beautiful every time we eat here, which is mostly take out! Always hot and ready on time, my favourite place in deeping!

The staff were really welcoming and very attentive. Food was all cooked fresh to order and was really tasty. Great to have this on our door step.

13 of us went for my wife's 60th birthday. What a lovely evening. Food was excellent and our host very accommodating, even making a special cheesecake which was my wife's favourite. A few of us had starters kings prawns in a rich tomatoe sauce and a house special of mushrooms with pancetta garlic white wine and dried onion topping with toasted ciabatta on the side. For mains we went for carbonara, bolognese, salmon risotto , cannelloni and pizzas. All very nice and generous portions. This is a homely restaurant with a lovely atmosphere all helped by wonderful food and hosts.

Preferred the red decor, now all painted out in a sterile white. Much preferred the cosy decor before which I guess is now considered to be dated.

Not sure if we caught them on a bad day but Manager clearly doesn’t know about engaging with customers. Only spoke to say what had to be said, staff pretty much the same. Food okay even though steak was over cooked. Manager offered to put it back on the grill! Really? No thanks and that was the end of that conversation. Salad dressing consisted of pure olive oil or vinegar, which for an Italian restaurant is unusual to say the least. Atmosphere okay but doesn’t make you want to rush back. Overall not a bad experience just not tempted to rush back.

Absolutely fantastic food and service. We were fitted in on a busy Wednesday night and treated to a fantastic meal. I am not a huge pasta fan but decided to have a pasta dish, wow. The meat filled pasta with ham and mushrooms in a cream sauce was delicious. All three of us had a great night chatting to the owner and getting tips on where to go in Italy. Thank you. Compliments to the chef and front of house staff.

My husband and I booked for Saturday evening. We were greeted by friendly staff. Felt safe due to covid and staff were wearing masks. Food was absolutely delicious and I wanted more even though it was filling. We will definitely be going back

Popped in on an “eat out to help” night. Fortunately got in at last minute. Usual friendly welcome. Started with a lovely Calamari, gamberoni & Cheesy garlic bread. all lovely. Main courses were Pollo Traditionalle (mozarella stuffed & wrapped in pancetta) with salad and potatoes. Requested dressing but it never came. Was a little dry so could have done with a touch of pomodoro sauce or something like that or dressing even. my wife’s Lasagne al forno was great as was my sons pizza was good too with pepperoni & spicy sausage. Washed down with peroni, fruit juice & red wine. a good night out

Our second visit and it was a good as the first. Thoroughly enjoyed our night out. Great welcome, excellent service and delicious food.

Our favourite local restaurant. The food has always been top notch and cooked fresh. With an open kitchen customers are able to watch the chef do his thing. Such a cosy atmosphere and impecable service. A good range of wines and beers and the food menu is fab. A versatile restaurant is perfect for a romantic dinner, meal with he kids or a large group of friends. The staff are friendly and bend over backwards to ensure you have everything you want. I can honestly say we have never had a negative experience here. Tonino's ti amiamo!

After a rush hour drive in heavy rain from Peterborough, was pleased with easy parking close to the restaurant which we were visiting for the first time. Following a really professional front of house welcome, we had drinks and studied the menu which was extensive and varied. We shared the more than ample starter plate, then I had specially cooked calves liver ( a variation on the menu choices proposed by the excellent chef) and my wife chose chicken wrapped in pancetta. The ten miles of rain and queues were all worth it, great quality, service, value for money, together with everything and more you would expect from a family run business. Nothing not to like and everything to like. What a find, we will be back.

As always Toninos provides Top Notch service, fantastic meals and a lovely place to wine and dine. Staff are polite and ace and I just love coming here. Always have a great meal and they do Liver which is a right old treat. Bravo

The staff are the best staff in the restaurant trade here. So attentive to what is going on and they make each experience unique and personal. The food tastes good and the pudding are very impressive. Brilliant prices too. Lovely atmosphere. Can’t wait to come here again.

We called twice when recently stopping in the area. On both occasions the service and food was good and the cost reasonable. Even though we went early on a Tuesday and Wednesday evening there were enough diners to make a good atmosphere. Would go again when next in the area.

I hadn’t visited this restaurant for many years and was looking forward to a return visit. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful and not at all pushy. We enjoyed three courses each including melon and palma ham , pizza , salads and desserts. The food quality was good and the prices reasonable. I found our table position rather claustrophobic, a bit too close to a neighbouring table and a window. We enjoyed our meal.

This is a small family run restaurant, serving freshly cooked Italian food. It has an intimate feeling and is very friendly with helpful staff, always good whatever you want to eat, from freshly cooked pizza to a full Italian meal.

This was not my first visit and certainly won’t be my last. Booked a table for 2 for myself and my friend, the waitress was lovely and friendly, the service was second to none and the food first class, we both had the ricotta and spinach cannelloni and we were not disappointed. The desserts were probably the best we have ever had. Do not hesitate to book, the place is amazing!

Been going to this place several years now. About 2 years ago I stopped going as I thought there were better places to eat and i began to leave feeling uninspired. Gave it another go this year and really enjoyed it so decided to come back for a Christmas meal with friends the other night.

Great cosy atmosphere, can't fault the service and the food was amazing. Would definitely go again and will recommended to friends.

Had a very enjoyable meal here with a friend. The wine was good as well as the food. The service was pleasant and efficient and we were not rushed through our meal which sometimes happens. Good to have this locally.

Have been quite afew times and it always delivers good food and good service. The menu doesn't change alot but with so many good pasta dishes and main meals to choose from there really is no need. Now onto the pizza probably the best pizza in the world, if you like thin crust with just the right balance of filling and mozzarella cheese you will be in pizza heaven. They have another dish that i particular like its pan fried veal with gorgonzola and pancetta, well balanced very tasty dish. They also serve a good selection of beer and wine.

It's not just a walk in it is a greeting lovely atmosphere , whether it is Haley ,Toni or any other of the staff, you are always made welcome ..Friday night is a great time to go as they will always have something special, but if you just want basic Italian. pizza/ Pasta with red house wine anytime is a good time

Was in market deeping for the weekend to visit a friend we went to toninos as we fancied Italian food.. the food was pleasant (not amazing but still very nice) however our waitress Amy was the friendliest person I have met so far in Market deeping, she was attentive, hilarious and a genuine down to earth person. She made us feel so welcome and recommended some nice food. She made us feel very at home and I would definitely visit again because of her

We went here for a family meal on Saturday night. It was busy so I would say booking is essential but we didn't feel rushed or crowded. The staff were very polite and attentive. Our orders were taken in a timely manner and the waitress explained how long it would be as the food is cooked to order which was good to know.

on arrival the place was empty and rather cold. music by Pavarotti was the only semblance of an Italian experience. wine ordered from the wine list was not the one selected but a lower % by volume when I checked. ok no big deal. rather than tag/Bolognese I asked for spag/Bolognese, surprisingly the server needed to check with kitchen that spaghetti was available when this meal arrived it looked like spaghetti with a thinly stirred in sauce and not the rich meaty sauce one could reasonably expect. I asked for parmesan cheese which the table server rationed out to those wanting it. I asked for the parmesan to be left so I could add extra and was informed 'there's not much left'. it seemed this extra item was grudgingly supplied. asked by server if my meal was ok...I replied no... there is little or no meat in the sauce. Comically, the waiter dug around and managed to produce a morsel of meat and held it up. No doubt proving me to be an awkward customer I sent it all back...to be fair they offered another choice but having seen the lasagne they served to the others at table (piping hot plates from microwave) with a 'soupy texture' I declined. I am very, very disappointed with the poor standards of catering that seem to prevail in not inexpensive restaurants like this one. Avoid this place is my advice.

We were given vouchers for Toninos for Christmas, a very useful gift for a very pleasant and well established restaurant. Its location is very central and parking was no problem. The restaurant itself was cosy and very friendly, clearly a family run restaurant giving personal service. The menu was varied and the food came well presented and a good temperature. The service was attentive but not overpowering which made the evening feel very comfortable. Would we return, most certainly.

Me and my partner dined here recently, the food was okay. I ordered a pizza which was supposed to come with goats cheese, however when it arrived it was just a plain cheese pizza with far too much onion on it. I asked where the goats cheese was, to which the manager replied its on the pizza, which it quite clearly didn't. He was quite rude, saying that how do I know if I haven't tried it yet, and then came back 5 minutes later asking if I was satisfied it was goats cheese to which I said nothing to. He then returned abruptly with a plate of grated 'goats cheese' on a plate to prove it was. It didn't taste like goats cheese, and he had a rude and arrogant manner.

This was a return to Toninos. My wife and I dined with my two brothers as we had traveled to Market Deeping for my Mothers funeral. The food and service were excellent and we can thoroughly recommend the restaurant.

Visited on a Saturday night for a girls night out, service was great and food was lovely, a great little gem in Deeping that I would highly recommend.

We were warmly welcomed to the restaurant and we thoroughly enjoyed the meal we had. The Lasagne Al Forno was delicious & the Risotto Al Salmone was the best risotto dish I have ever eaten! I am really looking forward to returning to eat there again.

Living in Deeping it is easy to wander along to so cars can stay at home.

The food we had was very nice not much choice of wines though.

Let us first consider that we (7 of us) were the first in the restaurant having booked 3 days in advance. Starting at 6 pm, we saw no food until 7:15pm, at which point the restaurant was full and multiple tables had already finished their main course. The food itself was undercooked and underwhelming. How one can fail to cook a pizza base is beyond me, and the calamari was criminally underdone. The mixed grill did not arrive complete, the steak arriving (not cooked to specification) 5 minutes later. In fact neither steaks were cooked as asked.

We booked in advance for a Monday evening meal and upon arrival, the Restaurant was full but relaxed and unflustered. We received a lovely warm welcome and were seated straight away.

This is the only Italian restaurant within easy walking distance and therefore we do not have to worry about driving. The food is good and plentiful and the service is acceptable. The menu ha not really changed over the years but they do have a range of specials available to add some variety. It was recently announced that the menus had been updated, but we could see very little difference if any. It looked to us that the same menu had just been reprinted on new paper. It is well worth a visit and is good value for money.

Booked for four of us, it was a very hot day and the restaurant held its heat! So had spicy pepperoni and a unusual bread for starters between the four of us, not keen on bread. Three of us had pizzas , I had the fish one delicious would personally like a choice of a thinner crust. Two had special pizzas and one had lasagne, which looked great. I had roasted vegetables delicious except the carrot! All three of them shared potatoes which was enough for three. No deserts, lacked choice. Service fine not outstanding. Good local choice for a night out not recommended for special occasion.

My wife and I visited with friends toninos and must admit we was given exceptional service from start to finish.The food was very nice and I can recommend the risotto as well as the merlot.Would recommend to anyone and the prices where very reasonable too.We will be booking in again soon

A very good Italian restaurant. Not a massive choice on menu but all the food is very fresh and you can see it being cooked .

Tempted by the flyer which said they had a new menu, we had not been for eighteen months due to previous poor quality food. Menu no significant differences and food quality has deteriorated. We did not have the pizzas which looked ok, our mains were nothing special and expensive for what they were. Appeared to be pre prepared and heated. Much better Italian offerings in Peterborough and Stamford ,will not return.

Very expensive to say the least 2starters and 2 main 1/2 caraffe Cheap wine which resembled watered down communion wine £50 plus.ordered lambs liver, that is what you got. Nothing with it! Had better at Wetherspoon's! Extremely disappointed and I am quite easily pleased.

First visit with friends on a Saturday evening. From Start to End, I must say that all of the Staff that we encountered were excellent. Polite, friendly and understood the Menu very well.We had starters which consisted of Calamari, Prawn, Bruschetta and were really well presented and taste wise couldnt be faulted.Pizza's for mains, really good quality Pizza. Nice base, very generous amount of Cheese and Toppings and tasted freshly made. Peroni on Tap, was really cold and not flat - always a bonus.Really enjoyed our meal and would happily return.

A rare chance to enjoy an evening together without kids - staying local - so let's go and try somewhere we've not been.Tonino's it is.Small restaurant yet it certainly packs in plenty of 2/4 seat tables. Decor not overstated by any means - warm and cosy - homely style. Intimate and busy at the same time - it had a nice feel to it and is popular judging by the amount of people in there. So expectations were that it was going to be good.The menu a reasonable selection for all, pasta pizza, steak etc - all standard - nothing jumping out as overly interesting to catch the eye.Starter - we really couldn't decide so we ended up going for a shared platter.Spicy king prawns, sauteed mushrooms, onion rings and calmari - sweet chilli and garlic dips.Prawns - tomato based sauce - not overly spiced in fact under spiced for my taste. Mushrooms, herb seasoned we're fine - the rest was frozen fare - certainly not fresh made.MainsFor me - Rigatoni with spicy sausage - Sicilian style. My missus - canelloni - with spinach and ricotta I'll be brief - I wasn't expecting high end - but all Italians can make a good tomato sauce.it was bland. I expected a rich unctious sauce, deep rich tomato with the delightful Italian sausage adding that rich edge. I ate it - it certainly wasn't unpalatable by any stretch of the imagination. An old friend from many years past had a similar dish in his restaurant - he was Sicillian and his was nothing like this, maybe that's what I was judging it against?The caneloni - served at thermo-nuclear temperature levels in a dish only 3 degrees less than the core of the sun. The dish had to be removed from its crucible and added to the plate to cool.Sauce was again weak - garlic overpowered most the available flavours - in its defence - it wasn't inedible by any means just not what it should have been - that's what my missus said - I did have a taste and agreed with the garlic comment.It's only manners, let's have a pud.For me home made warm Apple pie and vanilla ice cream. For her the semi fredo with espresso.Pie, sweet, all was fine, likewise the semi fredo - it was well prepared - and well demolished by my better half.However, we'll go again for sure - a place can never be judged on two dishes - I'm sure there is more to go - we'll work our way through the menu to be sure.The overall experience was good, attentive staff, nice front of house, nice table and one thing I've not mentioned very reasonable - average cost Chianti the bill came to just over £60 - come on there can't be many places on a Weekend where you can get this? Agreed I wasn't bowled over by the sauces but they were ok and I'm a bit pissy about what a good base should be.....but as ever make your own judgement I'd certainly give it a good go again.

Was very disappointing. First of all the waitress came over to tell us the special's but not everyone had arrived at our table yet! 3 of my colleagues had ordered steak not one was cooked how they specified, all was well done instead of rare, when we told the waitress she just said well I will let the chef know! No apology, or no offer of another one- nothing! My food the chicken was very nice, just a shame about the service and the steaks. If I was to go back I would recommend to keep to the pizza and chicken.

I was very disappointed with the very poor standard of food in this establishment. Couldn't taste any garlic or herb's /seasoning on any of our food.We will never return.

OK meal but nothing special, got one of the order wrong so one of our group had to wait for their meal which was disappointing. Services was also a little poor so in all not a great visit. Based on this unlikely to return but do know others who really rate this little Italian restaurant.

Took the family to Toninos for my daughters birthday meal. Service was efficient, food very nice with prices typical for this type of restaurant. Got quite busy as the evening wore on, but the staff were coping admirably. Would go again.

Nice little restaurant, good decor with dark red walls making a cosy romantic atmosphere, complete with tablecloths and candles. Food cooked and presented well. One of the waitresses obviously new and inexperienced but otherwise service friendly and attentive. Would definitely visit again as it makes a change from the town chains.

Love this privately owned Italian. It's nice to have an Italian restaurant on the doorstep that isn't part of a chain. Always recommend booking on a weekend as it gets full very quickly. Food has always been delicious.

Well I'm being rude and still sat here eating but I didn't want to forget to post this..... What a Gem great service even though think it was her first night (waitress) superb food. finally food a place where I don't moan. Stuff your chain rubbish check this out.

This is always been a favourite of ours for family occasions and for special meals for two. We have also recently discovered that they will (if not too busy) offer a limited takeaway menu and we have had some really delicious pizzas (and italian potatoes) in front of a DVD at home.

We booked a table at 8.15 for 4 to celebrate a birthday. 10 minutes after arrival one member of the party had a call and had to go to sort an emergency situation - car accident. The staff were amazing. They let the remaining 3 have lots of time before just ordering starters. Once we knew the fourth would be returning we ordered all 4 mains with a time. Not one grumble form the staff, all just more concerned that our situation was under control and no one was hurt. On the return of the fourth member of our party, I spied a thumbs up to the kitchen and our meals were finished and brought to the table. All the food was amazing, tasty and well cooked. Despite being so late and they didn't bat an eye at the party ordering desserts, coffees and brandy!Thank you to all at Toninos for making what could have been a stressful and dud of an evening into an enjoyable time. We can't thank you enough.

Visited tonight with my partner to celebrate our anniversary. Service excellent.food very good really hot not just warm.tasty mixed platter spicy king prawns, battered onion rings garlic mushrooms, calamari bread and 2 dips.i had pollo de cream very nice but you need rice or potatoes as accompaniment.partner had Rigatoni with spicy sausage.All food very good and decent sized portions.WE HAD NOT VISITED FOR A GOOD FEW YEARS BUT WORTH A VISIT.

I came a year ago and was greeted by an unfriendly waitress and was eventually given a hard pizza. However after going again the waitresses were friendly and I had pasta which was much nicer. The restaurant is small but has a good atmosphere and you can see through to the kitchen. Would recommend in the future but there are still better restaurants in Deeping (not Italian though).

A friend and I visited Tonino's at the last minute on a Monday evening. Many places aren't open on a Monday so it was nice to see that Tonino's was. And interestingly, even for a Monday they seemed busy, so evidently popular!The restaurant is nicely decorated but a little dark inside for my liking. I soon got used to it so it wasn't a problem, it made for a nice atmosphere in the end.I'm not sure if this is a special offer for Mondays, but we were told as we sat down that pizza or pasta for main course was only £6.99, which is excellent value. The menu was comprehensive with something for everyone's taste; my friend is vegetarian and there was plenty of choice for her. Interestingly she was able to get half a pizza with a side of potatoes, rather than struggling to eat a full size one - this is a great idea.I chose the Tonino's special pizza which I highly recommend, although I'd have liked to see a bit more topping, which could have been more generous. It was nicely cooked and tasty. I also had a side of herb potatoes, which were fantastic and actually the best bit of the meal for me! We ordered a Coke each, and these were served in annoyingly small glasses. Because it was busy we struggled to get anyone's attention for another drink. I'm not someone who likes to shout across the room for attention, so it would have been nice for them to pop to the table once in a while. But I can understand why not because they were very busy.Overall a pleasant meal and friendly service.

A group of 14 ate here last night on a very hot evening. We had booked but had not pre-ordered as the chef wished to cook everything fresh for us. We eat out together on a monthly basis and it is very unusual not to be asked to order in advance. The chef was able to produce all starters at the same time and all except three mains simultaneously but these arrived a minute later. Everyone enjoyed their meals which ranged from pasta to pizza and veal or chicken dishes. Desserts were also good - I can recommend the amaretto ice cream. My only complaint, and this is common to many restaurants, was the uncomfortable seating - I nearly removed a star for this reason. Why do restaurants have seating with hard square corners which cut into thighs (rhetorical question really)?It was a very hot evening and several of us became rather over warm and toilets were upstairs and quite a walk.Altogether, a very pleasant evening with good food and competent service so we will probably return in the future.

I have been visiting Toninos for many years now and each time the food has been spectacular, the staff helpful and lovely. Always a great experience and I will definitely be back again.

Came here with a gorup of 9 people. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. The pizzas werent greasy or too heavy. The rissoto was delightful & also had one of the best cheesecakes I'd ever had there. Friendly staff, good job

A good menu to choose from to suit most diners. The Pasta and Pizzas are very good and a nice choice of starters and deserts.

Came here for our anniversary on a Saturday night. FIRST IMPRESSIONSIt's white on the outside and dark red on the inside. Quite small and intimate however the atmosphere and layout of the tables makes you feel like you're not (which is good).SERVICEEven though it was really busy, we didn't have to wait for waiters (no pun intended).WINEWe had a bottle of red wine. Prices started at around £16. We had one which was £19. It was alright but nothing special. I've had better house wine (that's loads cheaper). STARTERI had garlic wild mushrooms. Very well done!My partner had the antipasto misto. He wasn't as mad about his but I had some of it and it was lovely. MAINI had something which was called Rigatoni al genevese or something like that! It was pasta with pesto, chicken, tomatoes, olives etc. Very nice and looked colourful on the plate.My partner had risotto al salmone (sp?) So basically salmon risotto. He wasn't too excited by his and to be honest, I think he just made the wrong decisions because I didn't think it tasted that great either.DESSERTI had something (don't ask me what it's called) but it's basically praline ice cream with espresso poured over the top (tastes like you're eating a cornetto with coffee) and I honestly can't praise this enough. I would go so far to say that I would even consider coming in here JUST to eat this dessert (and I'm not even a dessert person).My partner had pistachio and mint choc chip ice cream which he liked.PRICEWe had:1x bottle red wine2x starters2x mains2x desserts1x coffeeAnd it came to around £63 which is really good if you think we had a £20 bottle of wine. If we hadn't had that, it would've been about £22 each which for a 3 course meal, good food and a good atmosphere is awesome.SUMMARYI'd definitely come here again

Our friends have been to this restaurant several times and they just love it, and we can see why....the food is just "amazing".,I had the palma ham and melon starter which was so refreshing.My main was the picey large prawns with rice. I also had asparagus as a side dish. tremendous stuff...yes we will be back and yes will recommend this fabulous find to others.Our only negative comment is that it is popular so it can be crowded and hot! And if anything it lacks a little atmopshere, but that wont stop us going back!

Have dined quite a few times, always enjoyed our food, probable a little expensive but Italian restaurants usually are! our 8 year old daughter loves the pasta and the pizzas.

I visited Tonino's last night in a group of 7 people. Our service was fantastic (with over 10 years of waitressing experience I always have high expectations!), the food was delicious - we struggled to pick from the excellent choice on the menu, we were pleasantly surprised when we were told they had an offer on and all pizza/pasta dishes were £6.99 - we expected smaller portions and all went mad on sides but didn't need to, very generous portions and really tasty food. A mixture of pizza, pasta and risotto within our group, plus garlic potatoes, garlic & mozzarella bread and Mediterranean veg. We all had a pudding - either the yummy bannoffee pie or tasty white chocolate cheesecake.When the bill came we thought it must have been wrong as it worked out less than £20 a head, we were all stuffed to capacity and couldn't eat another thing so I'd call that excellent value for money. We didn't get charged any sort of service charge but of course left a tip! So thank you to all at Tonino's, an excellent meal and I'd highly recommend a visit. P.S. I asked about the offer and apparently it's the same on Monday-Wednesdays so will be making the most of that in the near future!!

Went to Tonino's didn't know what to expect as we're taking some special friends. They wanted an authentic Italian meal. I am of Italian origin and therefore know a good Italian meal. I was most surprised the meal was fantastic. It wasn't As good as in Italy but not far behind. We enjoyed it so much we have booked to go again. Very friendly. Even got to speak to chef one fromPuglia and one from Napels. No wonder the food was fantastic. Oh and just to put a review I read they don't put a service charge so I don't know where that came from. Well worth a visit. One best Italian meals around.

Arrived to be told that the card machine was not working not a big problem but could be for people with cards only, was also told they were running 15mins late for our reservation...... It happens I suppose but there seemed to be a few empty tables. When we were seated we were not given a wine list and was when we asked for a bottle of white wine was offered the house which would have been acceptable but was delivered to the table warm and with no ice bucket to attempt to chill it, had to ask for an ice bucket which was delivered with x3/4 ice cubes in.....Ordered the food which was delivered quickly,,I had the calamari which was just frozen calamari deep fried and a silly small portion at that....... The wife had the garlic and mozzarella bread which was a nice big portion but not especially garlicky. About 2 mins after the plates had gone from the starter the main arrived..... Nice big portion of veal escalopes in a mushroom sauce and side portions good size too, was not brilliant quality for the £14 sauce felt almost like it had come out of a jar with a few mushrooms added... Wife's food was I am told very nice which was ham and mushroom pasta tortellini. After that when the plates were removed we had desert which was nice but again felt very manufactured well at least the tiramisu did. The whole meal felt very rushed as we had x3 courses inside of an hour of sitting down!!!Would probably not eat here again as did not think it was particularly good value for money for the quality of the food.

We visited for a family birthday. Most people had pizzas which seemed OK. My daughter and I had what was described as pasta with bolognaise. I say described because what we both got was pasta with some pale boiled mince with a bit of tomato flavouring. That was all the flavouring there was. No onions or anything else could be tasted. I have never tasted anything so bland. I tried some pepper on it but it didn't improve.I didn't make a fuss as it was a family celebration but I could have made a better sauce at home - this was supposed to be an Italian dish made in an Italian restaurant.If you are going then don't waste your money on a bit of boiled mince.

Mediocre! Service good, food nothing special, I've certain eaten better at home. My main gripe was with the portion sizes and the price. Wife had calf liver at £11.95. It consisted of three fag packet sized pieces of liver on a plate, that's it. Vegetables were extra. I had lasagne £9.95, it was perhaps the smallest one I'd ever been served in a restaurant. Half of it was sauce. Finally they included a service charge on the bill. If I like the service and food I'll tip, I don't like to be made to tip. Personally I think it must be a licence to print money for the owners. .

To celebrate some good employment news the wife and I treated ourselves to a nice little meal in Toninos. First time we've been here but it's a cosy little place with a good atmosphere and friendly staff. The food was good though neither of us are big eaters so we shared a pizza. Tiramisu for dessert and it was yummy.I'd suggest they update their website though... lot of 2014 dates.
