The BEST Korean fried chicken I’ve tried! Highly recommend the original fried chicken, garlic soya & cheese (in that order) boneless pieces! they take a while giving your order but it’s because they make it fresh. Generous portions & seasoned to perfection. Will always order from here❤️

Definitely the best Fried Chicken I've ever had !!! We ordered half: Original and Honey and half cheesy. Original was very crispy, cheesy was very tasty,and honey was so originally taste: sweet and spicy that was amazing. The chicken quality was very good and juicy . The radish pickles were awesome. All dishes are made freshly so you need too wait but it is definitely worth waiting!! The owner is a nice person, very helpful Highly recommend!! Ten kurczak to Mistrzostwo świata

I was so happy to find a Korean-style chicken restaurant that I visited frequently, about once or twice a month last year. This year, after moving far away and having some work in New Malden, I decided to drop by again. I remember the 양념being delicious before, but it seems like the 양념 has gotten spicier. It was so spicy that I had to fill up on drinks. While eating, it tasted good and wasn't unbearably spicy, but it still left a strong heat. I thought I'd end up going to the bathroom a lot, but I was fine. However, my English boyfriend, who was drinking beer with the chicken, said it wasn't spicy, yet he ended up having stomach pains that evening, went to the bathroom several times, and had to take two Rennie tablets to feel better. Even for Koreans or foreigners who can handle spicy food, it was quite intense, so I think it might be too much for those who aren't used to spicy food. Despite this, I love this place and give it 5 stars, hoping they continue to do well. I also hope that they become even more successful and open many brunches in central London, so more people can enjoy their amazing Korean style chicken.

A big yay!!! - as the dish Spicy tteokbokki was actually spicy. Ordered via deliveroo, after checking out the high ratings. This was totally worth a try. The best tteokbokki I’ve had so far. Some of the reviews on google mentioned about the dishes having small portion sizes, however, I felt the quantity provided justified the price. Also, don’t be confused with the quantity visible in the pic I’ve uploaded. Half way through satiating my hunger for tteokbokki is when I realised that I should be sharing this to more foodies out there in search of authentic Korean food, thus that’s when the pic was clicked . ♥️

A little more expensive compared to other competitors around the area. Taste not too dissimilar to competitors . Beer costs 6.80 for a pint. They do not give any tap water and you have to buy bottled water.

There's a few decent beers on tap which was great, but the star of the show is the fried chicken here of course. Super crispy and makes you want to eat more. A lot of different flavour options too. The one issue with the freshly made food was the long wait times. We went during a quiet period but still had to wait a very long time for the food to arrive. It was worth the wait as the food was outstanding.

This is basically the best fried chicken place in the whole of UK. They are highly underrated. Any single typical chicken fry found in any chicken shop does not come anywhere close to Tongdak. Even though I moved from the area. Whenever I crave a good fried chicken I will go and enjoy from here. As it is the only good enough fried chicken place in London so far. I tried lots and lots of shops. Trust me! Best recipe, Garlic Soya Cheese fried chicken (not sure on the name) Fried original White sauce fried chicken Their yetnal fried chicken was not up to my taste. Nor was the rose teokbokki. Otherwise everything else is top notch and crispy every time even on deliveries. I asked their staff multiple times and their chicken is halal. I am not 100% sure if they have any certifications.

I have never had good Korean fried chicken in Hong Kong. Compared to Hong Kong, it is delicious but not so amazing. But it’s really expensive. Half a plate of chicken costs 15GBP. It’s the same as freezing it for the night. However, British food everywhere is so expensive.

This is a delicious Korean fried chicken restaurant in London. Small space. There is little decoration. Business is good during evening meal times. It is recommended to make a reservation before going there⋯⋯ This time since there were 7 of us. The landlady specially helped us share tables. Because the space is limited, it’s actually a bit crowded😅⋯⋯ We ordered 4 flavors of fried chicken🍗. I personally prefer foreign wine. The taste is salty and sweet with a bit of spiciness. Delicious😋⋯⋯The original flavor is just ordinary fried chicken🍗⋯⋯ It takes a while to find the parking here. Not easy to find. Maybe I need to take a walk⋯⋯

I had seasoned chicken, and it really brought out the taste of what I used to eat in Korea, especially at old chicken restaurants. It was quite satisfactory.

The rose tteokbokki was so delicious. The fried food was also good. We missed the lunch time and all the other places were closed, so we were thankful that they took our order and allowed us to eat in the store. But cheese snowing? I was told that the chicken would taste better if I ordered boneless chicken, so I asked for that and the chicken was cold. I was surprised... Seeing that it was warm in some places and cold in Woody's, I could only assume that it had been microwaved rather than fried right away. I thought about telling the owner right away, but since we were visiting at odd hours and with our kids, we didn't want to cause any trouble, so we just packed our bags and left. I don't know if it was because I was clearly a visitor to London, but I was very disappointed on my first day in London.

Went in for lunch, ordered Soya Garlic, Yangnyeom Chicken and Sweet Potato fries. Tasted great! They provided plastic gloves which was nice. The only downside of eating here is that there are no restrooms. Other than that the food and service is great!

I came back after a few days after being sick because I missed Rose Tteokbokki.. ✨ Spicy and light.. Cheese Snow Wing Chicken is also really delicious. Recognized as the best restaurant in New Malden ✨ The best chicken restaurant in London other than New Malden!!! The draft beer is also delicious,, I went to a pub after going here, but I missed the beer here 🥹 The owner really knows the taste and is very meticulous, helped us choose the menu, remembered our return visit, and served us this time as well., I was surprised at how delicious the shrimp dumplings we got as a service were so delicious. Long live the gravy. Next. I'm going to buy it again ✨🫶🫶 The portion size was really, really big, I felt like my stomach was going to explode, but it was so delicious that I ate it all up 🤭🤭 I'm touched that I found this place even though I don't have this kind of hospitality in London. It's a restaurant that only I want to know about, but I'll just follow the owner's path. I need to spread it widely. Boss, please keep doing business for a long time. Each chicken's different tastes were so nice and very yummy. Ordered by phonecall and recommend collection at the shop. That's quicker to have them.

i am really really sad this shop closed down, this was hands down the absolute best Korean fried chicken place in london (having tried countless other places!!!) we used to be regulars and took our almost weekly order of fried original and garlic soy, and now it’s gone 🥲 we love u tongdak please come back !!

Been here for a few times. Absolutely adore the Korean fried chicken here. I chose the (boneless) fried chicken coated with sticky, spicy and sweet sauce and the other one were not spicy(forgot the name). -Flavours were on point, very addictive. -Chicken was freshly made and being fired to perfection. It’s juicy! 10/10 to me. Highly recommended :)

I have just returned from Seoul last month and I have tried the kfc at BHC in Myeongdong.Tongdak kfc is far by miles better than BHC. I can't believe it's fried as it's not greasy at all, the batter is just enough to coat the chicken and the chicken is so fresh and juicy! Certainly worth the one and half hours drive to visit this hidden gem.

Succulent Korean Chicken cooked with a variety of spices or just plain and crispy perfection . Try the spicy hot Yangnyeom, my favourite, with their spicy potato chips. Enjoy their Craft beers while you’re there.

Tongdak has the best korean fried chicken we have ever eaten. From speaking to the owner we could tell instantly that he is passionate about cooking and has pride in what he serves. This positive energy shines through in the taste and quality of the food. We tried the honey butter, yeongyeom, original fried chicken and garlic and soya. We are huge fans of the yeongyeom. We have now become regulars.

Their fired chickens are really tasty with rich flavours, the owner shared with us how he invented the recipe by combining different type of worldwide spices. Very creative and unique style of Korean fired chicken, we could feel his passion and proud of his creation ( food ). It’s abit pricey but worth of trying such delicious Korean chicken from time to time. What surprised me was the original flavour chicken still taste juicy after few hours when we back home. The fried chicken is some of the best around. It's great it's awesome, you have to try it.....but this definitely isn't fast food. I've had food here a few times now and I've never had food come out before 30 minutes. 40 minutes plus each time.

Honestly, the best Korean Fried Chicken. The wings were flavoursome, cooked to perfection, tasted fresh and after two very generous portions I felt great. I ordered the Yangnyeom wings and Garlic Soya wings, which both had their own distinctive flavours. The flavours of the wings at Tongdak are powerful, not in a overbearing way either. They’re simply full of flavour. The sweet and slightly spicy taste of the Yangnyeom wings went so well with the more savoury and soy based garlic wings. Together they made a really enjoyable tasty meal. I loved the fact that gloves and a small pot for the bones was also supplied, which made the overall eating experience easier. Not only did I have a warm welcoming, I felt even more comfortable after being informed the differences in wings, which helped assure my choosing. The staff were very friendly and respectful, where I had the pleasure of enjoying the relaxing sounds of Jazz being played on this summer evening whilst eating some amazing wings. The chicken is truly tastier than Korea! It is said that the owner has worked hard to develop the sauce for over 10 years, and I think he has captured the picky tastes of Koreans well. I was surprised to see many British and foreigners as well. The atmosphere of the store and the service of the owner and staff are also top-notch. ^^

Best Korean style chicken in the UK

한국에서 맛하고는 조금 다른거 ఙ네요 It's not bad, just not authentic fried chicken. If you hope it will be like food in korea, you will be disappointed. . Unfortunately it doesn't taste as good as I thought so I wouldn't recommend it.

The fried chicken is the best in town. Tried the original and the Yangnyeom, both were excellent and finger licking. The portion of the Tteokbokki is too small and pricey (£12.9), not suggested. The fried sweet potato is also excellent, but adding £2 to change from potato to sweet potato is really too much, given the original is just £3.2. It’s a fast food setting so don’t expect any service. The atmosphere is good.

The best Korean Fried Chicken in South London! Must try!!! I found a fantastic Korean restaurant in New Malden, UK, right by H Mart Supermarket. After shopping, I enjoyed a mouthwatering lunch. The restaurant had a cozy ambiance and friendly staff. Their menu had a variety of options, and I couldn't resist trying their Korean Fried Chicken. The sauce that the owner developed himself over several years is excellent, and the high-quality, crispy, moist chicken fried in clean oil has no unpleasant smell. I've been to many places to try Korean chicken, but this is the best! Going around trying to break the seal means that I haven't found a place to settle down yet, but I'm finally putting an end to it 💓 I think it's better than the brand-name chicken restaurants I eat in Korea. This is the first time I, as a Chinese person, have experienced racial discrimination in the UK. There were three incidents that made me very unhappy: 1. When we sat down, we waved and softly signalled for the boss to come and take our order. At that moment, he was standing next to a table of group of western people, taking their order. He turned around and gestured to us to "keep quiet, he's busy." 2. So, we patiently waited for him to finish writing the order and go into the kitchen. When he came out, he stood at the counter. We waved again to indicate that we wanted to order, but he asked us to come to the counter and pointed to the printed sign next to it, indicating that orders were only accepted at the counter. However, he had just been at the table of the Westerners taking their order. 3. After we finished eating, we wanted to pack up the leftover food and asked the boss for a container. He gave us a very cheap-looking container box. Just 5 minutes later, the Westerners also wanted to pack up, and he gave them a completely different and nicer container. The food is general, not bad.

3 times I’ve ordered from here and they never fulfil customer requests. Such a shame, the service lets everything and the experience down

This is the best Korean Fired chicken in the UK, very authentic Korean food and the owner is a very nice and friendly guy. Every week we drive one hour here to order and eat in the restaurant, feeling like eating at home with an old friend, very warm and chill. We are originally from China, and the owner is from Korea, both speaking in English and making friends, feeling like he is our Korean brother in this country. The food is excellent, service is excellent, and the restaurant decorated nicely. Would highly recommend.

I ordered from this restaurant via Uber Eats on 11 June and the chicken was cold and tasted rancid. I had to throw it away. I've tried to complain twice through Uber Eats but have had no response. Awful

Ordered via uber eats and it arrived well packed. The honey butter was nice and relatively yummy but different to what I’m used to (powder version). The original flavour however was lacking in the spices and flavour I was expecting. Other places do a better original korean fried chicken, but overall this place was not bad.

The fried chicken is fresh and crispy and really like the flavours that they had! But I felt the service was super slow, I had to wait at least 40 minutes to receive my order and we also was not informed this.

I have to say that this is some of the best fried chicken that I’ve had in England!! Ordered it as a takeaway on UberEats and when it arrived it was still perfectly crispy . The yangnyeom boneless wings had such good flavour too , I highly recommend Tongdak for amazing fried chicken . I recommend boneless too, super juicy and flavoursome , it isn’t cheap but the portion size was great to make up for it .

Says it opens at 12 on Saturday. We were waiting outside until 12:15 while the person inside just stared at us like we were mad. Took our money elsewhere, I'd suggest you do too. There are many places in New Malden serving the same for less.

I can see how hard this man works and is very nice. I am sure this was just a one off day but sadly it was our first time and there were about 6 deliveries at the same time that I feel impacted our experience. Food: had half and half. Chicken came out room temperature. The rice was cold and he was very sweet and made it hot when we asked. Flavours ordered - the korean spices and honey garlic. Flavour was good and crisp on the batter was decent. Overall good flavour. Rose Taekbokki was delicious. The creaminess worked amazingly! Served hot. Service: we were served our food 35 minutes after ordering. The man is very sweet and nice. I wish him lots more success with his business. We're sorry we experienced these issues but am sure they are not usual because the place seemed to get lots of regulars.

If you want authentic korean fried chicken, this is the place to be! Yes I know the prices are not very cheap, but the quality of the food is worth it. This place is more than an hour drive away from my place, but we keep coming back for their garlic soy and spicy sauce 양념 chicken! Insanely good ❤️

According to gentleman they did not have tap water. Chicken was nice, Octopus balls was full of mash with one piece of meat roughly 10g.

Best fried chicken ever had ! When doing takeaway it best to just order Original Fried chicken. If you want order other chicken like spicy sauce ones then it is better to eat in the restaurant, it get soggy quickly on takeaway. Original fried one still get really hot and crispy on delivery

Small restaurant serving super tasty Korean fried chicken. They also have a couple of other side dishes but people come here for the chicken. You can have it in two ways, crispy with soy sauce for dipping or with the excellent slightly spicy Korean sauce. Both options are available on the bone or boneless. It's really tasty and excellently cooked. It's a small place, 4 tables inside and 2 outside. You might have to wait a bit because the chef does everything, taking orders, preparing food and serving to tables. This is part of the charm of this place. Everything is very clean and professionally managed. There are no toilets and no hand washing sink. They do have 3 types of beers on draft. We really enjoyed the fried chicken and also the side of shrimp dumplings. Highly recommended

Will give 10 out 5 omg this is the best gourmet Korean chicken shop in London (but not expensive expensive though) and I'm sure this has the most similiar taste to Korean local chicken in London, no honestly, much better!!!! Tiny place with limit seating. The guy told us it’s takeaway only, which I didn’t understand as people were sitting in. We ordered half portion of each spicy and soy garlic. Both were flavourful and juicy. We also ordered the ddukbokki. Flavour was good, but sauce was very watery and didn’t stick to the rice cakes. They wouldn’t give us tap water, even though they had glasses and served beer on tap and were supposedly take away only. So we had to buy bottle water, which is ridiculous. There’s no toilet available and it can get quit cold inside when you sit near the door as people don’t shut the door properly. The price is steep for the portion sizes and lack of service.

I went to this place in Central because I wanted to try Korean-style chicken and beer. The owner was so friendly and the chicken was so delicious! I tried Garlic Soya, Yangnyum, and Fried and all three were really delicious! I ate it with chicken and radish and it really reminded me a lot of Korea :-) I will definitely go back to try the chicken! Next time, I’m going to eat rose tteokbokki together!

Stoped on the way back to Birmingham, after hearing so much from the YouTuber Korean Englishman, wasn’t disappointed absolutely delicious had the spicy one but it wasn’t too spicy and the taste and texture is to die for, can’t wait till I’m that way again as will definitely drop in for more. The best Korean fried chicken in town, no doubt. Expect to wait because it's only a small shop and the food was made fresh. Food - Juicy and beautifully marinated chicken, you can tell the difference from the first bite. Ordered original KFC and white spice. For the sides we had the rose rice cake and their pickles, again, spot on. They ran out of sweet potato fries so we got normal fries, which was so good! Definitely worth the wait. Service - The male manager and his other female colleague were very helpful and attentive. Maybe 30 mins wait on a Friday night. We were turned down from the first restaurant we went so this wait was nothing and the food made the wait so worth it. They provided gloves! Totally the Asian way to wat KFC. Atmosphere - Chic decor. Reminds me of those random little fried chicken shops I went to in Seoul. We will be back again for sure!

The chicken is very crispy and juice. The chicken’s quality is very good. It’s a take away shop but serves with restaurants’s quality! The owner is very friendly as well. Everyone is very happy!

Food took a while but it was worth the wait as chicken is very good fresh

I felt like they paid a lot of attention to the chicken, but I felt like they didn't care about anything else. There is no bathroom. If you need chicken radish, £2.8. There is no tap water. Buy it or endure it. Chickens have fur. The fried food tastes 90% the same as KFC Wicked Wings. Just a little bit crispier. It's a decent amount for a reasonable price though. For a local business, the service is a bit rude(?), which is disappointing.
