Fantastic food, incredibly attentive staff and very popular as every table was taken except one! We had the barbecue beef and other dishes. Quality was excellent and tasty. Went for my daughter’s birthday and her wedding anniversary. Couldn’t fault food or service

The food was good, particularly the seafood pancake, which was crispy.

I went to this restaurant after checking the reviews. However I was very disappointed to see the atmosphere, especially that lady who works at the till has such an attitude problem. She was getting very angry and aggressive but failed to see what she had done wrong after the many incidents. While this was an alright restaurant, it was overshadowed by her attitude and her actions shown towards me. I could feel the passive aggressiveness of her and it was a disappointing situation.

I recently dined at the Korean BBQ restaurant where the food was quite good, and our server was polite and attentive. Unfortunately, my experience was overshadowed by the owner's behavior. While we were still cooking our BBQ, the owner abruptly came over and turned off the grill without asking or checking if we were finished. This rude action left a bad impression and ruined the experience. Despite the quality of the food and the great service from the gentleman who attended to us, I would not return to this restaurant due to the owner's disrespectful behavior.

Food was ok but we couldn’t enjoy our meal due to Poor Customer Service from this old lady. She got real bad attitude. This old lady is racist against other people than koreans. Sad to see such people in England who themself are immigrants but got such attitudes against fellow humans. Zero Hospitality, Never again.

The amount of food is very small

Well, it's very tasty, friendly staff and a very nice atmosphere. It's very pleasant and cozy, it was the first time, but now it's our favorites❤️❤️❤️I recommend you visit

I have ordered 5 dishes - beef jabche, soft tofu soup, fried squid & pork with rice (Osam bulgogie), spicy fried prok (Je youk), and fish soup (Saengtae tang). Portion is too small and they put too much chillie power! With fish & meat dish, I could only see vegetable- lots of sliced onions, not enough meat and fish - so small and so little, I could count them. Service was good, the restaurant was clean but terrible food :( Very disappointing so I even didn't take pictures.

A mix of japanese and korean. Seafood pancake was quite oily. Spicy squid quite okay. Overall, no frills. Could be better.

Recommend this Korean restaurant to you all! Food is good and the staff are nice. Original Korean taste, feels like you are located in Korea! I will definitely have it again next time!

The food was fine, it was hot but the carnifornia rolls didn’t look like the menu photo and was very basic.

Had a wonderful evening feasting on the BBQ and many other things. Really loved the different food on offer and the overall service that we had. They were so friendly and kind. Great atmosphere and highly recommend eating here.

Food was fine, but we were served octopus balls with hard, frozen lumps of octopus in them. We sent them back. We were then patronised by the owner who came over and told us we should expect octopus in octopus balls (completely missing the point that we’d been served lumps of badly cooked frozen seafood…). We then really didn’t enjoy the other food knowing items weren’t fresh and might not be properly cooked. We won’t return.

Good service and delicious food. Had spicy pork, it was full of flavour and veggies were fresh and crisp.

We ordered bucn of food for a group of five. All food was very good and the staff was friendly. All food was served in a timely manner. Will recommend Bossam with kimchi dish. Very authentic dish 😋

We came here to try Korean bbq for the first time and we couldn’t have picked a better place :) The staff were so nice and helpful and the food was delicious. We recommend the beef brisket Korean bbq with ssamjang! (Sorry, we didn’t realise tipping may be inappropriate :’))

Good taste, little expensive but worth

The best thing is the big table and very clean environment. The waitresses had a condescending attitude to their customers for nothing - not caring, not bothered and lack of empathy. Someone had chilli soup splashed in their eyes while packing the food, the waitresses didn’t ask about it, not even once. The pancake is way too oily and not even taste that good. Korean Fried Chicken has way too much sauce and it’s just so so. Beef Bulgogi was very good, tasty and healthy. Kimchi Soup was a disappointment. not flavourful, just spicy pasta taste.

I came here to visit the UK while attending civil service training. All the food was neat, tidy, and very tasty. I plan to visit again before I go to Korea. The owner and all the workers are kind and seem to be sincere about the food.

Three of us went to this restaurant for dinner. While the food was average, the service was exceptionally poor. From the beginning to the end, the staff were rude. Our server had a negative attitude throughout, from taking our order to checking the bill. When she brought the wrong order, she blamed us and refused to correct it. This level of service is unacceptable, and we will not be returning

There was a great choice of food on the menu; the ingredients were of good quality; the service was very helpful and pleasant; and the prices were reasonable. I don't want to use the cliche word "delicious," as taste is a very subjective matter. However, I could tell that the staff in this restaurant makes top efforts. I will definitely come again.

I haven't tried all the menu items, but the fish dishes are especially delicious. Today I ate salted fish soup, chicken, and seafood and green onion pancakes, but the raw fish stew and fried fish here are also good.

The food was great, it has a lot of options, and the sashimi was great.

We were dinning at Kumkang two times so far. Both times food was amazingly delicious but service horrible! The older looking lady who was working that night in restaurant was literally shouting at us, as a family was so embarrassing to wait there to be served. Restaurant was so busy with only 2 people working and serving, our food arrived very late.

Food were very hot delivered, especially when it’s cold outside, I was very impressed. 1) Spicy squid was an excellent dish, yum yum 2) Fish roe soup was on seasonal menu, we were lucky to have a try but I can only taste the spicy favours, quite disappointed. 3) Sweet and spicy fried chicken, it was another disappointing dish, they were not crispy, sweet and spicy sauce was like just a ready-to-use sauce and add on top. Besides, I paid like 20% £ more in this restaurant compare to others.

Fantastic food and lovely service. Food is delivered quickly and it's as fresh as can be. Highly recommend the spicy quid the sauce is amazing! And their kimchi pancakes are fire! You will not regret coming to this place.

Food was good but they rushed us out telling us we only got the table for 10 more minutes and was very rude when paying, kicking up a fuss and giving us attitude so this ruined the whole experience. Won’t be coming here again.

This is a lovely new restaurant. Clean and comfortable seating. We had 3 mains… fried chicken, eel and japchae. It was all quite tasty. I’ll definitely come back soon….

This restaurant was recommended by my friend. Its location used to be hidden behind a supermarket 1 year ago? Moved? Anyways, we came here at 6pm and was lucky to get a table with no reservations! Busy restaurant, a little cramped, but service was friendly. We sat on a table where we didn’t have the stove, so the waiter offered to do the barbecue for us in the kitchen. My partner felt the ox tongue was a little overcooked, nevertheless I still like the beef and the eel! We also ordered seafood pancake for takeaway, that was good too! Highly recommended if you happen to stop by New Malden!

We were really excited to visit KumKang again after our first experience. We came back to celebrate my birthday and were made to feel so welcome. They sat us down really quickly even though we hadn't made a booking on a bank holiday! We enjoyed the boneless honey mustard chicken (which was crispy and delicious - not like some of the other stuff we've tried elsewhere that can be a little soggy), kimchi pancake (my no.1 favourite), chicken ramen, a spicy kimchi and salmon sushi roll, and of course some soju and beer 😉 kimchi comes as standard and there's also the option of non-judgemental cutlery if you're not a chopsticks whizz. The super friendly owner came to chat to us and told us all about his journey to opening the restaurant, and remembered us from our first visit. We can't wait to come back again soon. 감사합니다! I've been here several times and the food was delicious and the atmosphere was nice. The sushi is delicious and fresh, the barbecue, beef, and pork belly are delicious, soonduboo jjige, meuntang, al tang are delicious, and I also recommend the fried chicken wings.

I would have given 0 rating to this restaurant if it would have been an option. The waitress denied us entry to the restaurant just by looking at us, even though talking other guests in.

Good food with good portion unlike some other Korean restautant with really small bowl. Clean and bright environment. Recommemded.

Better than wagamamas at slightly cheaper prices, real authentic Korean food. Got the chicken teppanyaki which tasted like a proper grill. Will be back to try some of the more exotic options like the steak. Will be back.

We went for dinner at KumKang last night and I have to say this is the best Korean restaurant in the New Malden area! The food is absolutely delicious and I’ve tried the other Korean restaurants there and have also travelled to Seoul. I can’t stop talking about how tasty the food was! It is very popular so make a booking before you go as groups of people were being turned away as it was that busy! The lady who served us(owner?) was very funny and the man was so polite to us thanking us for coming to the restaurant. Service was quick and efficient. This is going to be my new go to Korean from now on!

One of the best Kimchi-jjigae! Mouthwatering when I see the picture :D Beef bulgogi is my favourite it is savoury and delightful. Those beef are so matching with the sesame oil.

I would like to go back to eat at this restaurant! ! The boss and staff are all Korean and very friendly. The store is also very clean. You feel a sense of intimacy when you walk in. The food is even better. 🍴Korean fried chicken: After trying some Korean fried chicken in London, I feel that this one is closer to orthodox Korean fried chicken! The dough sauce is relatively close! 🍴Spicy fried squid rice: Very delicious, I really like the aroma of the pot, I can’t stop eating it! 🍴Tofu and fish roe hot pot (seasonal only): The portion of the pot is sufficient, the fish eggs are fresh and have no fishy smell, the soup is fresh and sweet, and the overall seasoning is great. I want to eat it again and again! Authentic Korean restaurant, have friendly and lovely staffs, and the interior is clean, would definitely love to revisit. 🍴The korean fried chicken is the most authentic one I've tried in London, and the price is reasonable too. 🍴Spicy squid rice was wonderful, could taste the wok aroma that coming from stir-frying ingredients over extreme heat with fire and will a complex smoky flavor, love it! 🍴Spicy fish roe soup was nice, satisfied with the soup and the ingredients were fresh especially the fish roe, made me keep eating.

I want to eat stir-fried squid again. ^^ The taste of Korean food was brought to life well. Because it was raining, I ate seafood and green onion pancakes. The stir-fried pork was delicious and the bulgogi was also good^^ It's friendly and clean, so I recommend this place to go again.

Highly recommended. I tried their braised pork and Kimchi, sweet and spicy chicken and their vegetarian pancake and I can say they were all so delicious. The vegetarian pancake in particular have been the star of the night. I will definitely be back.

I don’t recommend this place to anyone who have kids, the food was expensive and I can’t enjoy my food because they don’t provide haichair so the kids were playing and the waitress was rude, she came to us and ask us to just carry the kids and don’t let the kids go down, so l have to carry my kids while eating. And for sure will never come back

The food here was great however was not impressed by the service and were quite annoyed by the end of our meal. When we entered they sat us near the door even though there was plenty of space and when we asked to sit a little further away they said no. We ordered and everything was fine but halfway during our meal one of the staff came and opened the door and left it open, when we closed it she tried to open it again and when I asked her not to she was like 'oh but the smoke'. I had to explain that we were sat next to the door so not only are we cold bit our food is also getting cold, which is ridiculous She then left it alone but the attitude was unnecessary. It was an atmosphere of if you weren't korean you were sat closer to the door. Everyone that walked and was korean sat further in the restaurant where the door opening wouldn't be a problem. But everyone else was sat near the door even though there was space. Honestly disappointing and won't be coming back.

Delicious gyoza,kimchi pancake,teriyaki tofu and bulgogi .Sizzling hot,served with fresh kimchi and beansprouts. Friendly,fast service and lovely decor and atmosphere .lovely lunch and will be back soon, thank you !

We went for lunch few days after Christmas. We heard great things and they did not disappoint! Everything we had was fantastic! Can’t wait to go back and try more!

We are locals and we have been twice to have dinner and no matter how delicious the food is, I sadly have to say that due to the loud and buzzy music, I wouldn’t want to return :( Good food and good music merge well together and the loud music it just kills the atmosphere of enjoying the food and having a relaxed dinner etc. In my opinion it is not just about how good the food is, but also how pleasant the atmosphere is, created by good music and good customer service. Im not sure how others feel but for me if I want to try Korean and Japanese cuisine, I’d be much grateful to listen to some chilled Korean or Japanese music. That’s just a suggestion😊 Nevertheless the food was one of the best I’ve had in a long time 👌🏼

Excellent food but very rude service

Don't ask for more kimchi. I asked for more kimchi that was provided for free, but the lady boss was very upset and even asked for my money. I guess kimchi is a waste. There are no oysters in the cave.

The food is average and the attitude is passive aggressive. They served kimchi without us ordering which indicates it’s free. The kimchi is tasty so we asked for a refill, and the female owner immediately looks annoyed. We ordered refill one more time and she looked very reluctant. At the end on the bill they charged 3 pounds for kimchi. We are happy to pay, however it’s unacceptable that 1) they don’t inform us when we are asking for refill that kimchi is charged 2) if they are charging it why we have to accept her attitude. Wish them a good business given that people don’t feel welcomed.

We choose here to meet friends out of many other options in New Malden on a Saturday. We ordered the tasty soup and free rice provided which was nice. The atmosphere was cosy and great for gathering. The only thing that stopped me giving more stars was the lady (older aunty) who served us refused to provide us extra hot water for my friend's tea top up request. She showed us her annoyed face and eventually she provided half a cup of the hot water. Come on, half cup?? Not sure where the customer service stands at that scenario? Guess she just wants to get rid of us as we have paid. Sorry, thumb down for that customer service lady ....

hello. I visited Geumgang Restaurant for my friend's birthday. The atmosphere is great from the moment you open the door. It was great to see smiles on the faces of the people serving us as soon as we ordered our food. And the taste of the food I ate was clean and light, which was great. So many of my friends told me about this place. thank you

Recently, my family and I visited the restaurant to celebrate my wife's birthday. As someone familiar with Korean cuisine, I was left disappointed with both the service and the quality of the food. Despite being a party of six with children, the absence of suitable seats for kids was an unexpected inconvenience, which I regret not checking in advance. To my disappointment, four dishes I wished to order were unavailable, prompting us to opt for alternative choices. Following our order, we received only two small servings of kimchi, contrary to the norm at other Korean restaurants where a variety of three to four dishes is usually provided. The seafood pancake we ordered was notably small, the tteokbokki dish seemed excessively watery, and the kimchi jjigae had an unusual taste that didn't resemble the traditional flavor I've experienced before – it felt like there was an odd addition of tomato purée. Despite the appealing decor, regrettably, the food did not live up to our expectations. Overall, the lack of authenticity in the food was disappointing and impacted our dining experience.

Amaizing place and every plate of food was perfect. The kimchi rice and kimchi stew were heavenly. The mixed BBQ meat quality was great and cooked perfectly. Really enjoyed my time here and looking forward to coming back again 😁

Overall it was okay. Ecological steamed rice? I wanted to try it, but I couldn't because it was sold out because it was so popular. Unfortunately, ecological soup? I ate it and it was spicy and good. The sushi was okay too.

This restaurant really stands out when you’re driving down the main high street. Maybe because it is quite new, it’s well lit and clear to see inside in comparison to other Korean restaurants. The portions were generous, we did not finish our food! I went for dinner with my friend and we both spent approx. £30pp, drink each/ 2 starters to share / main dish each. For a quick easy choice, I’d definitely come back again.

Owner has been present for all but one of the times I've visited, and he always creates a super lovely experience. Incredible food, and always fresh. Truly a man who cares for his craft.

Came to KumKang because another local Korean restaurant had cancelled my reservation. And boy am I glad they did. Almost everything about KumKang is perfect. The food was exceptional, light, balanced and full of flavour, the staff were charming be friendly. The atmosphere was lively and family oriented. I will undoubtedly be back as this is genuinely too-rate food served by people who care about what they’re doing.

This is the restaurant provided Japan and Korean food . The food quality here, both taste and outlook, arr really good. It is always full of customers during dinner time. I should come back again.
