Well situated, nicely decorated, and pleasant surroundings. The food was good. The food was in generous helpings, at least for the starter and main courses. The ice-cream, however, one scoop of pistachio for £6, I think, I can't remember, was grossly overpriced for not very good quality. The worst thing about the ice-cream, however, is that it wasn't a scoop. It was a curl, just a circle scraped out of the tub, and totally hollow. Just a couple of teaspoons of ice-cream. After a pleasant meal, that spoiled the dining experience. What a pity!

Love this place. Real good service and great food. Always consistant with their food on the menu. Prawn starters and lamb chops were probably the best I have ever had.

Very awful experience. One of the dishes tasted very unpleasant, the staff was informed about this. Owner rudely insisted that there is something wrong with my personal taste. Eventually, I paid for the bad food and received rude attitude.

What a lively restaurant, never been before but after a recommendation from a friend, we went. We were bit disappointed. Lively food, fairly priced , friendly service and a great ambience. Will be going again!

Food wasn’t too bad however, the starter was not the best calamari with tartar sauce. The waiter was great as there were only 4 people in the restaurant at the time we came. At one point some ladies hair caught on fire, after leaning backwards into another table.

I thought the food was not up to "restaurant" quality. The prawns weren’t deveined. With the Calamari, the squid rings were lacking. Underneath the breading, the squid rings were only a few millimetres in diameter. So basically breading for around £8. Service wise, I felt we were an inconvenience, for example; service was short of brusk, we were given table for our group with a chair at both ends and no mention of specials until a fellow diner spotted a blackboard across the room which was after we’d ordered.

Absolutely delicious food and brilliant service! Just spent the best part of three hours here for a lovely leisurely big family lunch. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the food (all my favourite Italian classics) was perfect in every way. My first time here as I’m not local any more, but definitely will be coming back again. Thank you so much!

Always offering the friendliest of welcomes, this longstanding restaurant conveniently situated in the heart of Surbiton opposite the railway station, has a standard menu with a good variety of international dishes giving the feeling of home cooking. The daily specials are always interesting and everything remains competitively priced. They have a decent selection of wines and their house wines are always good.

Spur of the moment decision for a meal out and always like to choose an Italian... not disappointed... lovely fresh hot and tasty food ... I will be back.. highly recommend the pork loin filet with cheesey leek sauce.. Great value perfect flavour.

Horrible experience - terrible service, food was cold and came 1 hour late, no apology and instead an aggressive waiter. Drinks never arrived and yet the restaurant still tried to charge

Disgusting food. 0 hygiene. Had the pasta here and was sick for a week. Owner is an old bald guy that seems to think he's running the ritz. To pretend he's busy ( total of 2 seats taken at 7pm on a Saturday) he pretended he was fully booked but would make an exception. I so wish he hadn't. The food was so bad that I'm still recovering. The place stinks of fish and the bald guys attitude means he will regret his actions for a while to come now

Visited this resturant twice. It was recommended and didn't disappoint. Service was always friendly and welcoming. The menu is Italian based with a large selection of pasta and pizzas. First visit I had a seafood pasta which was delicious and second visit we shared calamari and pitta starter, both presented nicely and both fresh. I choose a vegetarian pasta dish for mains which was delicious. Partner had steak ehich was cooked to his performance (rare) which he enjoyed. Daughter had margarita pizza, and she enjoyed. Each visit was at lunch, restaurant was quite. Toilets cleaned and maintained. I would highly recommend and definitely will return.

This is my favorite Italian restaurant in all of Surbiton and Kingston. The food is fresh and delicious, service always excellent, and all at reasonable prices. They have the best sticky toffee pudding I’ve ever tasted. Anywhere. Ever.

Seafood salad might be a healthy choice, but I just wanted to try pasta during my rare visit to this part of the city. Not disappointed. The seafood in Spaghetti Marinara is quite fresh. The sauce is not too strong in flavor and goes harmoniously with the pasta, but it also tastes good enough on its own to make me wipe it all with my bread. Pasta doesn’t seem to be handmade though. Very warm and friendly service. The restaurant looked so dark from outside at 3:30 pm. Glad we had the courage to go in ;)

Had a wonderful meal at this restaurant tonight with my Brother and Niece. All three courses were superb and the service excellent. This was not my first visit to this Restaurant and the food and service has always been good. Would recommend a visit. Very varied menu to suit all tastes.

Trendy local alternatives have come and gone over the years, but Allegro prevails. There's always a warm welcome and the food is reliably good. Prices are reasonable for both food and drinks. Warmly recommended.

The food was tasty. It would have been nice to be offered a finger bowl with the mussels. The gentleman who served us was pleasant but not particularly attentive. We kept having to get his attention to get more drinks and we weren't even offered a dessert menu or coffee so we left. Despite that, it was nice and the restaurant has a relaxing feel to it and is reasonably priced

Very friendly welcome. Good food, well cooked. Good value. Perfectly acceptable house wine. Simple decor. Alongside the typical Italian pizza and pasta there are international dishes (I had duck breast) and English dishes (we visited on a Sunday evening and my wife had one of the two specials: roast lamb, roast potatoes and vegetables). I am used to being asked how I want my meat cooked, and I wasn't asked. My duck was cooked to an English standard, rather overdone for me.

Had a beautiful home made dinner here, not sure how iv never been before its wonderful, and the owner is a nice friendly chap too. All kinds of food to suit all and really well priced.

I visited this restaurant with a group of friends towards the end of 2021. The Manager/owner was obviously struggling due to staff shortages post lockdown, but he is an amazing man and made us feel very welcome. I have to say the food was absolutely wonderful and the best Italian food I have ever eaten and I cannot wait to visit again. Planning to take my family there very soon.

Allegros is simply one of the best places I have ever visited. I used to live in Surbiton and would go for breakfast every Saturday morning without fail. I now live in Sunbury but still make the journey to eat at Allegros if I can. The food is great as is the owner and his family. Truly recommended.

Don’t be fooled by positive reviews! Awful food. The risotto was over-seasoned. with the worst mussels and prawns I ever have. it got some inflated description on the menu as well. Were those really tiger prawns? The answer was obvious.
