Whenever I visit Kent I always make a trip to tom bells. Best rock n chips ever

How long is this place going to be closed for refurbishment, it has been a while...It's been my go to place for years for high quality fish and chips...open quickly please...

Cod and chips twice with drinks £30. Lovely food but very pricy!!!

Waited 15 minutes just for drinks after asking twice the waitress came and slammed them down on table no apology. Waited over 40 minutes for our cod n chips still didn't come so paid for drinks and left. No apology from anyone. Diabolical service

My first visit today. Very impressed. Clean and hygienic. Lovely smelling food. Well cooked and prepared. Fair prices for the high quality and service I received. Lovely staff. Tasty ample portions of chips. Highly recommended

STAFF WERE AWFUL!!! From start to finish of being in this restaurant, the staff was rude throughout. When they gave us our food, they didn’t even look at us. How disappointing as by the looks of it on the rest of the reviews it has just been taking over by new management. Normally they would want to leave a good impression as new owners and to treat customers like that says it all about the character of these people. If your reading this, don’t bother going, just go to mcdonalds opposite this shop.

Never Again. Paid 26pounds on 2 cod +chips,one was oap discount meal! I couldn't eat mine because it was horrible and the chips were cold and looked disgusting 😫. I wasn't asked if " everything OK with your meal" when obviously there was something wrong!! Tea like dishwater! Just an unpleasant experience. Staff not very hospitable and very unfriendly. All the good reviews were obviously before revamp!!! And new owner.

Fantastic fish and chips tasted absolutely delicious. But for the first time in years I left the restaurant still feeling very hungry.

Very rude service the employees scowled at us for just asking for simple things like water and ketchup and they wouldn’t let us drink our own bottled water because we didn’t buy it here.

I had forgotten how good the freshly cooked fish and chips were from this shop, we called in whilst shopping in the Broadway and had not used this shop since last year. Very good old fashioned fish and chips. The seating is adequate but a bit Spartan there is a toilet at the back, the staff are very quick and pleasant . Overall very good

staff need to smile and be polite and the place is empty ...... Don't think I'll be coming back... and just left the fish it's swimming in grease not good...

Realised that there was a difference when we received the food. Smallest portion of cod and chips ever, even with cost of living, so expensive. Left feeling hungry. Fish was greasy. Now heard the old owners have gone. Doubtful we will return.

Best cod and haddock we have had ever. Beautifully cooked. Lovely people who are keen to help were ever possible. We had an 80 plus order on Good Friday and there wasn't anything left by the end. Thoroughly recommend them.

I have wanted to try since it’s refurbishment and I have to say that I wasn’t massively impressed. It was a very small, albeit tasty Cod with, if barely a handful of chips for over £10!! Portion sizes need a refurb too. Doubt I’ll return, shame.

Now has been taken over by new Management. The layout of the restaurant is still the same the waitresses are very slap dash and don't seem to know what they are doing. Food is still the same apart from burnt baked beans that my husband had even another customer complained about the food being too greasy miss the old staff who used to run this place pity they had to give up this place. Waited ages for the food to arrive. Have a feeling these people won't be in business for too long.

Used to be the best Fish n chip shop for miles. In fact I would travel miles to get there. The quality has gone down hill sadly. I ordered a large piece of Rock & chips. When it came it looked fresh and big. BUT, it was all batter, very little fish in the middle. Just a slither of fish either side of the long bone! I won't bother travelling so far to eat there anymore. Not worth the money, time or effort!

I meet my daughter for lunch sometimes and we meet here for fish and chips. The owner is lovely and the staff is very plesent. The food is fresh and lovely, never left here disappointed.

Been in the area and fancy a fish and chips and this one was the bears one. Service 1A lovely and good communication. The dining in well it take you back to the family time at 80s stiles so that is a point- tidy well no so. Food wise well honestly didn’t enjoy I didn’t find any special receipt and was a bit oily the fish and not golden as others. So that reason I give the 2 stars Do I recommend well I see no point as it have its customers already but if you are a bit pickiest honestly not Do I will return I guess no but I did have a good experience

The Covid precautions were taken very seriously and meticulously. The staff were friendly, welcoming and accommodating, the portions were great, the prices fair and the food YUMMY!

went there today used to be good my wife asked for cod salad only had large cod so she had chicken that was dry salad covered in salad cream to cover up brown lettuce told cook he said take it back to counter then told no salad only chips so tried serving salad that looked like it was from before the xmas period chips had a lot of black in them and were not cooked in the middle in actual fact 3 people including our son more or less left there meal gone right down hill place looks grubby and in need of a referb sad a once great institute has gone this way felt sorry for girls serving and making appologys £22 of crap never again such a shame

A very good fish and chip shop to eat in. They also do take away. We have been here twice and found the service and fish and chips very good, cooked fresh as we ordered. They also do other foods which we have not tried yet. The prices are reasonable, we had a small Rock and Chips, a large Haddock with a roll, a Pepsi and a Coffee, we had change from £20. There are toilets at the back.

Met up with a friend for lunch... thought we might go to the nearby pub but was happy to give this chippy a try. Don't let the slightly basic interior fool you...the food is very up to scratch! Lovely freshly cooked fish..chunky chips..big mug of tea.. It hut the spot! Will definitely return.

I have always had good food here. Great saveloy and chips. In an era when traditional fish and chips shops are rapidly being replaced by fried chicken shops I hope that Bell's survives.

We chose to sit in every time we have our fish and chip. We always have haddock and chips. This is always cooked fresh and tastes delicious. The service is always good young girls serving with a smile. Yes the place looks old fashioned it's never changed and yes that is the charm of the place. Don't yet know the chefs name but he always greets us with a smile. We will continue to go back there.

It's a nice place to go for a simple but tasty meal, service was OK although have been before and it's been better, but the food is lovely fish is cooked fresh, and the wait is worth it. It's suitable for family's and couples. It's old fashion but that's part of its charm

This place is very tatty could definitely do with a refurb, the food isn't bad I'd say it's very oily but I've had a few meals here and some of which are very nice. Very overpriced but the portion sizes are worth it so that's good, staff are lovely very friendly and this is convenient for location hense 3 stars.

Tom Bells has been in Bexleyheath as long as I can remember (over 30 years)It has always been consistent and high quality Never had a bad food experience The fish tastes very fresh with a light crispy batter They also serve all the normal favourites You can also ‘Eat in’ at the bench style booths Would highly recommend

Decent fish and chips,friendly staff,very busy but you get served fairly quick so it isn't a problem,the chips are always nice and hot and you get a fair sized portion.My son loves their saveloys and also their cheeseburgers but they are on the small size so I don't think the burgers are worth the price asked for them .In all though it's a good chippy with lovely staff so will always recommend.

Nice food but not too comfortable.

I have been eating in tom bells for many years now and have enjoyed great food on every visit. My personal favourite is steak pie, chips and beans. You just can't beat the chips at Tom Bells. Efficient and friendly service. The children love eating here as much as I do. Top marks

Decent fish and chips for fair price

had a nice lunch today with the misses. friendly staff with big smiles especially the manageress. you can tell the fish is fresh and the chips are the best tasting. if your in the area it’s a must.

Travelled to Tom Bells on a reccomendation of a friend; fantastic food, quick service & the staff were lovely especially the manager who was extremely friendly & welcoming. The cod & chips were sublime, the portion was very large, probably could have fed two. Definitely will go back when we are in the area again!

Great fish and chip shop it's the best around for miles highly recommend it I'm a regular the chips are fried so lovely in groundnut oil fish is great in crispy batter, nice choice on the menu .

While in Dartford my brother in-law took us to Tom Bells for lunch, hope your hungry we got asked by him, I know why now. this is the best Fish and chips I had ever had, cooked fresh for you and the portions were large. There was nothing to fault this place. Would recommend to anyone going to Bexleyheath try this place you wont be disappointed.

I don't like the place like I used to, it doesn't look clean anymore, that explains why I had a upset stomach after eating fish & chips from here.

Food is always perfectly cooked and tasty and the staff always friendly and welcoming. I don't think you will find another fish and chip shop as good as Bells!

As a rule I use the take away option, the fish, pies and chips are well cooked and the fish is never dry, the cost is ideal for my pocket.

we sat and ordered our fish and chips plus one tea one hot chocolate waited about 10 mins for fish and chips my fish had more batter than fish and chips were quite a small potion tea was very weak hot chocolate dident taste like hot chocolate I had to ask for more chocolate in it qute expensive for fish and chips would only visit here rarelynot the best fish and chips in that area room for improvement

Fast and friendly service and good portion size, and importantly great tasting fish and chips. I was not disappointed and even went twice during my short visit from Australia.

As you walk in a big part of the layout is in booths all along the left hand side seating 4 comfortably, the counter is in front and to the right. I would guess that they can seat 100 or more. They have quite a comprehensive menu, not just fish and chips, burgers, sausage, breakfasts,desserts and more plus soft drinks. There is waitress service. We were here for fish and chips (Haddock/Rock) which was of good quality and served quickly( there was only two others eating in there at the time) it was well presented and the prices were comparable to others in the area. Overall very good we will come again.

My family and I are regular visitors to Tom Bells. We are always greeted by the friendly owner and receive great service with a smile from their team of fantastic staff. To top is all their fish and chips are the best we have tasted. Well worth a visit
