Over the past few years i have given a few reviews on this place. The first visit a few years ago was great 5 stars. The next visit had a few problems but they were sorted out quickly. This time. They have a new ordering system for takeaways with time slots you can collect your food at. When we arrived FIVE MINS EARLY than our slot it was already ready for us to collect. We drove round the corner, less than 2 mins away. Opened the food to find a few problems. 1. Some items were slightly warm, some items had gone cold, nothing was hot. 2. Lettuce used was not fresh slimy and manky and was picked off and binned. 3. We paid for a chicken and hollumi gyro and there was only 1 piece of hollumi on there. We were hungry so ate what we could salvage and binned the rest. We would have taken it back but had made plans so hadn't got time. We are dissapointed how downhill the food has got from when we first started coming here. Its a shame.

Great food, friendly staff and wonderful atmosphere. We visited Litchfield over a weekend, and actually stopped in here twice! The first late on a weekday - apart from one other table, we were the only ones in there. Not sure if there weren’t enough staff in the kitchen, as our mains took quite some time to come out (about 30 mins+), but the food was worth the wait. The drinks on tap were also warm for some reason? Nethertheless, we enjoyed ourselves and the food was delicious. We came back a few days later with family, and due to it being busy in the restaurant we sat in the outside area - a shame we missed out on the music but we still had a good time. Food was wonderful once again, staff were attentive and friendly. Lots of variety for everyone, a huge menu of vegetarian options (roasted veg, or jackfruit options). We would highly recommend and would visit again in future!

Lovely food, nice atmosphere x service was great until after main meal we were asked to do a review to get free churros after that services went down hill no one asked if we wanted a drink or a pudding x loads of staff there but more interested in getting the dj set up for 8 people who were left ! Eventually after about 45 mins of waiting we got our bill !

Night out with the girls, easy booking online, menu available online to consider before, menu. Lots of choice, picked the chicken fajitas, great sized portion, couldn't eat it all, fajitas yummy. Mates food also delish, service was great till we received our food. After that we were asked write a review for a free churros. Then we were ignored for over an hour, not offered dessert, or further drinks which we would have bought. We had to search out the churros and it took ages to get the bill. DJ started at 10pm most customers had left. Mid price food and drinks. Food good, service pretty awful after receiving food. Looked like plenty of staff around

We've been looking for a Mexican restaurant for a while and came across this place while out In Lichfield. The service is excellent, very attentive and friendly. Great selection of starters and mains. All the classics you'd expect in a Mexican restaurant. Really tasty and filling. We especially liked the spicy sauce with the fajitas. Will definitely return and recommend to all our friends and family.

Amazing meal out, the food portions are well worth the price and the taste to match. 100% recommend and we will be returning for sure. Riya our server deserves a shout out too for being so attentive to our needs, thank you for the incredible service.

Food vastly overpriced. Our chilli nachos were cold, the dressing on my sons salad was so overloaded with vinegar (or what ever they used) it was inedible. Tacos were so so. Would have been better off getting some food from the street vendors. I now have a very upset stomach from eating at this restaurant and that's not just from the bill at £77 for 4 people.

I almost don't want to rate this restaurant as 5 stars because I don't want everyone else to go there and then I struggle to find seating! It's just wonderful! The food tastes like the most Mexican food I have experienced in Britain and the staff are friendly and efficient. Please go visit!

Average food dripping in oil. Inexperienced waitresses. Live music which was so loud we couldn't hear each other speak. We won't be returning.

OK, first off the food was very good. Delicious. However, the atmosphere and ambience is completely absent. Very cold space. Dark and slightly depressed staff. No smiles, no welcome. Just going through the motions. We were so cold, air-conditioning blasting even though we are in an enclosed shopping arcade. Just no need. It's not hot. Anyway, we love Mexican food but not enough to return. A sad Saturday experience for us.☹️

Honestly some of the best food I have had in a very long time! We had chilli nachos to start which was a big portion and really tasty. For main, I had the Mexican Gyro and this was absolutely gorgeous! I couldn’t stop saying to my partner how good it was. Service was quick and friendly. There were only 2 other tables when we ate. Will definitely be returning and recommending!

Attended with group of friends . Food came out very slow which meant we couldn’t all eat together . Service definetely needs improvement, had to keep asking for sauces , bill etc .

Celebrated my 50th with friends here. We were served by Bethany who really looked after us for the evening. The food was amazing, excellent value for money. We also had cocktails which were on a special offer. There was a live singer which created a great atmosphere. It was very busy all evening I’d definitely go back. I ate here with friends and it was very quiet. The food was okay, but the service was extremely slow and poor so I dread to think how they'd cope if it was busy! I love Mexican food normally but I would neither return nor recommend this restaurant unfortunately.

Went in over the weekend to grab a couple of tacos. £4 for a taco bread with some meat is not only a rip-off, but also anti-Mexican. There was no flavour, nothing else in the taco but the meat, and oil dripping out as you go to eat it. Unbelievable.

We ate at Toluca last night and the food was a big disappointment. We had birria beef quesadillas and chicken enchiladas. The birria beef was so salty I couldn’t finish it and actually started to make me feel sick with the sheer amount of salt. The enchilada was dry and both hot and cold, the cheese on the inside was cold, no flavour just very dry so didn’t finish that either. The spiced onion rings were amazing but after the amount of salt I consumed from the beef I couldn’t finish them either. The lady singing was really good just abit loud for the space we couldn’t hear eachother talk. Shame because I’ve been wanting to come here for awhile and a lot of good reviews. Maybe we will go back and try some other food next time but a very disappointing first meal ☹️

We celebrated a Birthday at Toluca, fantastic service by our waitress Bethany, nothing was too much trouble and very attentive. The best atmosphere, Live music from one man and a guitar playing some brilliant accoustic hits, we could of stayed all night. The food was top notch, cocktails 1st class. I would thoroughly recommend visiting Toluca. Thank you for such a fabulous night 🥂 Cheers Phil, Ange, Donna and Jason.

The food here is amazing and always of a high standard. I’m vegetarian and coeliac, and spoilt for choice when choosing from the menu. Gluten free tortillas are available for all your traditional Mexican dishes, my favourite being the roast vegetable enchiladas. They’ve recently added gluten free buns so the burger options are available for coeliacs too. Whenever we visit, we always order a side of dirty rice as it’s so delicious. There are lots of new items on the updated menu, so I’ll be back again very soon to try something different. My favourite restaurant in Staffordshire!!

We, went a month ago and we went yesterday 23rd June. Easy to book a table online, we took our grandson and he loved the hats and had a photo of it. He had Childs menu but when he seen our food, he wanted to try it 🤣🤣 so we shared it with him. It was a great price for us & him, sadly we live to far away for home delivery. Highly recommend it to families great value.

We have thought about this place for a while and o my we are glad we came, the service from start to finish was impeccable and the food was just superb, Tasty fresh and great The mocktail for my pregnant wife made her feel she was still part of the atmosphere Thank you we will be back

The food here was delicious and clearly freshly made and very filling! Value for money. The service was good however once we had been offered our first drink we weren’t asked if we’d like to order more which I thought they were missing out on sales from this as it wasn’t just our table but others surrounding ours. However we all said that we enjoyed the experience and as I say the food is fab!!

Great food, lovely service. We ate in high profile city Mexican restaurant a couple of weeks earlier and it was no where near the standard of Toluca,Lichfield. We'll definitely be back.

Had an amazing experience here! Will definitely be returning. Had the chilli nachos to start which was a perfect size and delicious. For main had prawn tacos which were outstanding, and the tex mex mixer plate. Had a live singer in house while we were there who was fantastic. Drinks we had cocktails and processco. The team just blew us away with how everything tasted and how the experience of the night! We will definitely be telling our friends about this place and bringing them soon!

I have to be honest - I’ve ordered from Toluca tonight. Half the order didn’t show up. They didn’t pick up the phone when I called. They randomly called back said sorry ask for a refund but they weren’t interested in delivering the food. That’s all we wanted. Never ordering again!

Cool little bar and restaurant in the centre of Lichfield. Outshines everywhere else in the area in my opinion. Great food, drinks and service. Nice decor, no pub games, good music - a chilled and relaxing experience. I’ve been here many times at varying times of day and night. Always satisfied.

Food was overpriced and the beef burrito dry as the desert toilets are about the best thing there although have to walk up a mountain to get to them

2 hours for delivery absolute joke my food was cold when it arrived and the delivery driver was extremely rude trying to tell me my postcode was wrong!! Never ordering again

Fantastic experience, we popped in for a couple of cocktails, but once we saw the value of the menu we decided to eat too, great value for money and Bethany made the most amazing cocktails. Great tequila shots, the mint Baileys Cocktail is highly recommended, really enjoyed our experience and the food is top mexican quality, will definitely revisit.

My family and I recently visited Toluca Mexican Bar & Grill for the second time, and it was an absolute delight! From the moment we stepped in, we felt welcomed and at home. The flavors danced on our taste buds. Every dish was a celebration of authentic Mexican cuisine. The tacos, enchiladas, and guacamole were simply heavenly. And let’s not forget the amazing desserts—they were like a sweet symphony! Family-Friendly Atmosphere, Our kids were in their element. The vibrant decor and friendly ambiance made it a memorable outing for the whole family. The staff went above and beyond. Not only were they friendly, but they also helped us navigate the menu. Their recommendations were spot-on, and we appreciated their warm hospitality. All this goodness came at a pocket-friendly price. Toluca Mexican Bar & Grill has won our hearts. It’s a place where flavors collide, laughter echoes, and memories are made. We’ll be back for more!

Have to say my previous comment still stands but atmosphere downgraded as it was dead. Hopefully on different nights it has now going on. It's decent to be fair. Portions weren't overly generous and it's expensive for what it is which influenced my rating. An ok choice though if you fancy something different in Lichfield.

Hardly a Mexican resturant! "Tacos" were warmed up pre-bought 6" flour tortillas you buy from the supermarket, filled with dry shredded chicken, and some basic leafage and grated carrot on top, a side of the same leafage and carrot, and a portion of chips, for £17! Nah. Not a lime or avacado in sight. I'm not sure if any of the ingredients used would actually be found in a mexican resturant. Least Mexican resturant ever. Only positive thing was friendly staff, but I went for Mexican food.

Phones up a couple of days before to book a table for 5.30pm Saturday. When arrived gave my name and was told there wasn’t a booking. Her tone and response (Paige the supervisor) was as if we were lying (who lies about a 5.30pm booking??). Then rather than shown to a table in restaurant she offered us some bar seats but I was already done at this point as her attitude was poor to sat the least. Very disappointed as we came before and the lady manager that night was great. We were so looking forward to cocktails and nachos but spoiled by poor customer service

Visited on a weekend, food was good, service was very slow, lots of staff just standing around talking, waited ages for drinks and music was so loud I couldn't enjoy my evening, I won't be returning

This was the fourth time we have been to the Toluca but it will probably be the last, service was painfully slow and the food was very hit and miss, those amongst our party that had chicken based meals were ok but those that had beef found it dry and tasteless, we've been on a Saturday before and know that it will be busy (although we had pre-booked) but that isn't an excuse for the extremely slow service, also we've been before when they've had a musician playing but last night it was very loud making conversation impossible. Shame really as we've enjoyed our previous visits but we'll more than likely be looking for elsewhere to eat in future..... sorry but being busy is no excuse for slow service 😔

Wandering around looking for somewhere to eat my partner stumbled across this place and she said we should give it a go. We were greeted at the door by friendly staff and this theme remained with all the staff really friendly throughout the visit. Once sat I was so glad we did choose here, a great selection on the menu and so much I wanted to eat. We went for three starters, humous with avocado and nachos (home made), chicken wings and pork belly. Now I have had tapas before but the portions haven't been this big. There was a big bowl of humous and it was so tasty and we just dipped everything in it as well as the Nacho's. For mains we had Tacos, one with beef, the other king prawns. The beef came with fries the prawn with dirty fries and to be fair, really good size portions and the flavours again brilliant. Two milkshakes to drink on top, one Oreo and one strawberry and again just brilliant. I thought £67 for three starters, two mains and milkshakes is good value, you pay for what you get and you get quality

We ordered online for delivery. It was very speedy, very happy with that. When the food arrived, the chilli dog was plain, no toppings or cheese, nothing. It was also cold in patches, but not all the way through. The gyro wrap was filled with chips, with 2 slices of halloumi and 3 bits of chicken. The bbq wings were cold, the bbq pork belly was mush. But the Mexican mozzarella sticks were lovely. The delivery driver was lovely aswell. We ordered on uber eats and it doesn't let us review. This was NOT worth the £50 we paid for it. I feel scammed.

I recently visited Toluca Lichfield with a group of friends and have to say, I was very impressed with this little place. I'm the only one from the group with dietary requirements due to having coeliac disease and being vegetarian. The menu had lots of gluten free options, many of which were vegetarian too. The staff were very helpful when ringing up prior to booking to explain their processes. The lady on the phone told my partner that they pride themselves on being inclusive to dietary needs, so we felt confident in going ahead and booking. Upon visiting, our server was very helpful with taking my order and explaining what was available for me. The portions were a good size and the food was lovely and flavoursome. My food came out with a little gluten free flag too so I feel the best care was taken when preparing my meal. Really enjoyed my food and felt safe as a coeliac here. Would visit again for sure and habe recommended to friends and my local coeliac group.

The service was good. The food wasn't the best the rice wasn't seasoned in the burrito the king prawn taco for £17.95 I would expect a few more prawns then 7. Potato bravas was good and so was the hummus

Food arrived cold, longer than expected and missed my drink from my order. Called up and was told I need to raise it with Just Eat as it’s out of their hands. This is the 2nd time something has been missing from my order.

No sour cream with the chilli. Good job I ordered one to go with my chicken wings. Which I now have used for my chilli. Which is bland.

Firstly let me start by complimenting the front of house girl and the cocktails girl. They were both superbly friendly and handled the situation very well. The food however was terrible! We were only having a few snacks very early afternoon ahead of an evening meal planned. So we ordered GF chicken wings, pork belly bites and a plate of nachos. Again, let’s be positive, the wings were edible…. But if someone came to my house and described the meal as “edible”, I’d know it was bad! These were adequate at best, but probably not to the standard as frozen ones from any leading supermarket! The nachos were a sight to behold. Clearly only a third of a family bag of nachos with 50g of frozen shredded beef and about the same or less of cheese. Somehow the cook, (I’ll not describe as chef) had managed to nuke the to within an inch of their life, and then still serve cold. The cheese was attached to a greaseproof paper and if we hadn’t have been hungry we would have left. The pork belly bites were served burnt and yet surprisingly cold in the middle! A very skilful art is that! We did ask for them warm, but they were returned hot, and now the carbon burnt taste was really brought out to such finesse! We chose to leave, and they did in fact credit us for those… so all in all, we had 6 wings, a Long Island tea, a Spanish draught beer and some nuclear nachos and were left with a £33 bill! Disgusting and will not return for more punishment!

Do you're drivers not have satnav! They appeared to got to the wrong side of Lichfield entirely. Extremely disappointed and no wonder the food was stone cold and awful!

Visited above some nights ago together with a mate. Having finished main course, around 8.55 p.m., ordered desert and a coffee, only to be told that coffee machine had been turned off!!! There were others in restaurant, finishing meals, some of whom no doubt would have wanted coffee also. Have tried to contact Toluca re. this on their webpage contact facility but, on send recive message "An error occurred". Something of disappointment and wouldn't use Toluca again.

I cannot express how much fun Toluca Mexican is! Every time my friends and family have been with me there has not been a bad word. Food always is absolutely delicious with great staff all around. Couldn’t recommend more, make sure to book for the weekends as they get very very busy! The live entertainment adds to the atmosphere, perfect variety of acts!

The order was placed to be delivered at 7pm, it arrived at 7.28pm. Not great, and good job the good was good.

The beef in the burrito was incredibly dry and chewy. The rest of the order was exceptional. Shame about the burrito.

The restaurant is lovely, was greeted at the door and the music/singers were fabulous and added to the atmosphere. The food was ok, we have been before and the food was nicer last time, maybe a different chef. Twice we had to go up to the bar for our drinks as we were all dry, we would have had more drinks and spent more money if the service had been there.

…atmosphere was a little dull unfortunately, no music, felt quite bland, had almost a ‘warehouse’ feel with pipes running along the ceiling & the football on at the back - however it was a quiet Monday night….? Service was also very slow - waited over an hour & a half for our mains (we were served a starter in this time) - I was nearly at the point of asking, when the waitress came with our meals. Dishes were mixed - nacho starter had a LOT of cheese - could be to some taste, but way to much for us. Oily & saturated. Tacos were ok, salad was a little shrivelled. …Chilli jam chicken & halloumi tacos were again very oily, small pieces of halloumi & no heat to the chilli…but sweet & tasty. Quesadillas were good. We had the Monday/Tuesday night ‘set menu’ - this consisted of a reduced menu; 2 courses for £17.50. I won’t be recommending, it lacked atmosphere & I wasn’t overly impressed with the food - having said this, if I was informed it had been pre-booked for another meal with friends I wouldn’t refuse…
