First class best wc I've been in great food and service

A fab well stocked garden centre that has plants not forced into growth. Staff that are very knowledgeable, polite and helpful. The cafe is clean with a varied menu and homemade cakes, again with lovely staff. Definitely worth more than 5 stars around.

The food was fine but not over stimulating and 3.50 seemed excessive for chips in a plant pot

Very busy cafe but did get seated, hot food stops being served at 3pm. Nice cheese & ham panini (£9.45) along with cheese quiche, salad and chips (£10.95) cuppa was £2.65, very nice meals, dog friendly too.

Love this garden centre although can be pricey. Good choice of plants and some nice items inside. Cafe is a good find too...reasonably priced nice food.

Waited 45 minutes for breakfast when it arrived it was overcooked and the plate was swimming oil...

1st visit & it won't be the last! Cafe was excellent, food choices, plenty, served beautifully! Looked around the garden centre, looked very good!

Beautiful garden centre and excellent food in the stove café, it was a very hot day when we visited so if you struggle with heat it would be a problem ,they did have a large floor fan . I would recommend the owners to install Aircon in the cafe . We had a coronation chicken salad bowl , the chicken was the best I have tasted and beautiful presentation. The staff very professional and friendly. Highly recommend.

Called in for some breakfast on the way to Scarborough. Had a fantastic bacon muffin. The staff were all very friendly and happy, the cafe very clean and cosy (huge wood burner, lovely).

The garden centre is well stocked with healthy, well cared for plants. Staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Prices are as expected or good value. There is a good selection of bird feeders and food and a lovely gift section. The cafe is excellent. It has a range of gluten free products, although due to the small kitchen it isn't suitable for coeliacs. The products are homemade and good quality. The staff are friendly and very welcoming. They take a pride in what they do. Food is cooked fresh so when busy there can be a wait but it is worth it. Dogs are always welcome and there is plenty of space to be spread out.

Really like this garden centre, we've been into the cafe 3 or 4 times over this summer, always have roughly the same order, 2 rounds of sandwiches, jacket potato and a panini, with a small plant pot of chips.I appreciate costs have gone up but £37.50 is shocking, really disappointed and sorry to say we will not be coming back which is a shame.

What a superb afternoon ! Cranswick Garden Centre didn’t disappoint !!! We were thrilled with Cranswick . Managed to buy some smashing plants for the garden to get us through winter ! In fact too many to chose from.! Chose some super gifts for Christmas, some to send to San Francisco ! In fact we were spoilt for choice ! And even got four beers to ‘ cheer ourselves up ‘ ! . Followed by a most delicious lunch in The Stove ‘ . Food , cleanliness, staff are absolutely outstanding ! Will definitely return !

Took daughter for lunch as she's not been before. She said best lunch in a garden centre, couldn't have agreed with her more. Food first class very reasonably priced, staff friendly. Her as well as us will return. Looked round garden centre after, very surprised at very reasonable price for plant. This is definitely a come back to place for both cafe and plants. Can't wait to see new extension of garden centre.

Like most garden centres, some of the items for sale were very expensive for what they were, the café was excellent

Excellent customer service. Rang in advance to see if they had required plants, gentleman very polite on phone and checked with staff if stock was available . Went over and purchased plants staff in the shop polite and friendly too. Would recommend to others. Prices very competitive too. Thanks to you all. Will be back again in the future.

Visited the beautiful spacious layout of the cafe had a nice meal beautiful day rounded off by the pleasant ambience will try homemade quiche looks great.

Really lovely garden centre, had lunch there which was good,my only advice would be to make the area around the cafe more inviting with plants and pots it is a little drab otherwise I would have given it 5 stars..

Improving all the time as a destination venue. Lovely plants, and all very well-maintained and tidy. The cafe is super - great coffee and cake and a warm welcome for dogs. The wood burner is very welcoming on a cold day.

Garden centre is full of healthy well cared for plants The Stoves cafe is very good with a nice menu from breakfast s to lunches all the food looked tasty although on the occasion I visited it was just coffee and scones very good too.

Really nice relaxed stroll round today,had our breakfast in the cafe.The food really is top quality and the staff are all very polite and helpful. Were already looking forward to a return visit.

Always a great experience visiting this garden centre. Really well stocked with an abundance of plants, shrubs and trees. Inside everything you need for your garden , pets and wildlife. Also the cafe is wonderful with excellent food. The staff in the garden centre are so helpful and knowledgeable.

Food OK....but too many dogs. Being allergic to dog hair is a profound nuisance....but so many places now allow them. Food and dogs should not mix.

Toasty and warm sat close to the wood burner on a wet chilly Saturday afternoon. Really friendly welcome and service, food was fresh and tasty, wish I was eating cakes as they looked fantastic, lunchtime recommendation.

Love this place. The plants always look so healthy, the indoor shop is fab and the Stove Bistro well worth a visit.

Lovely garden centre, we didn't stop, but the cafe looked busy and popular. I'd say this is a small to mid sized garden centre, if you're looking for unusual and specific plants you might struggle, but they had a good variety. Bedding plants and bulbs in particular are good value and very competitively priced, and the plants all look well cared for and very healthy. Staff were professional, friendly and polite.

Super smallish garden centre with lovely cafe which sells homemade and delicious lunches and cakes. Great service in the cafe. Good mix of items in the shop but not an extensive range. Plants, shrubs etc seemed reasonably priced. Would definitely go again if I'm in the area.

Cafe experience wasn't great I'm afraid, in fact it was dreadful on the day. Food was "ok" when it finally arrived. (Full English, sausages were bland and uninspiring). The service was friendly but chaotic. Young staff tried hard, but repeatedly delivered orders to the wrong tables, despite them being numbered. Cafe was less than half full yet some customers had waited for nearly an hour. Some customers arriving later got served first. There was a lot of negativity being aired between tables regarding the performance of the cafe as a whole. Very frustrating as it has been brilliant in the past. Suggestions: Cafe needs an experienced manager and the meat should be sourced elsewhere (The master butcher isn't great).

Finding shelter from the relentless rain we stopped for a quick coffee at the coffee shop. Received a very warm welcome. The cakes on display were too tempting to resist as well as the sandwiches and freshly cooked specials. So glad we dropped in... the beautifully stocked shop did ok out of us too on the way out! Definitely worth a recommendation. Well be back anyway.

This garden centre was smaller than we thought it would be, however the lady on the till was very friendly, and when we explained that we did not have a lot of time she said we would be welcomed anytime which I thought was nice.

Nice place if a little quiet couldn't find anyone for help and didn't get the impression from certain staff they where willing to help! Found the cafe which was dog friendly but didn't stay in as we didn't see the sign to say it was OK for dogs, the sign is on a window on your way out and not near the entrance of cafe. The afternoon tea I collected was OK not the best ive had, but for the price was satisfactory,suggestion to lose the rock cake! Staff in the cafe where very polite and helpful. Would visit again now I know its dog friendly!

Complete nightmare this morning visiting the cafe for a cooked breakfast. We were the third order of the morning after a group of three and another couple were in before us. Drinks came quickly but food still hadn't arrived after 45 minutes, I was just about to ask for a refund when my wife's breakfast arrived. Unfortunately, it was wrong with the sloppy loose scrambled egg on the plate rather than the well done fried egg ordered. Mine followed and was correct. My wife insisted I started and ten minutes later I was finished eating with no sign of my wife's breakfast. By this time three other parties had complained and the waitress was looking upset. She came to clear my plate and we asked the waitress for a refund on my wife's breakfast, which was still none existent. She said she would speak to the manager Ray and moments later came back to our table with the card machine for the refund. She was very apologetic. On leaving I spotted a guy who was stood by the exit of the garden centre and looked like a manager, it was indeed Ray. I spoke to him about our experience and he wasn't that bothered and at first, seemed surprised someone should be complaining. He then remarked that it's a new team since covid and he knew this morning had been a disaster and that needed attention. I asked why he hadn't jumped in to help the poor staff who were struggling rather than being stood by the door, where we found him, and he responded that he was a garden centre manager and nothing to do with the cafe, even though he had to authorise our refund. Very disappointed and my wife had a bowl of Alpen when we arrived home!

Help full staff good with covid. If you go in the cafe it is slow service but when food comes it ok.

Update, recent visit September 2020 Enjoyed my revisit Covid - mainly one way system and customer limit (32), I assume when full, a staff member will be stationed at the entrance. Labelling - has improved, but not all priced. Good quality Plants! Enjoyed my visit, I would have given 5 stars, but the plants needed clearer pricing (faded labels) and more information. Plants looked clean and healthy. Cafe - recently upgraded, roaring fire in the stove. The menu in the entrance looks interesting, could do with larger and clearer print. We'd already eaten, but will try on a return visit. Accessibility - fine, toilet partially suitable for disabled needs upgrading (loo too low, no side bars, no emergency cord, tad awkward access for some wheelchair users). Car Park - free and close to the garden centre. Staff - very friendly, funny and helpful. Toilets - off the car park. Toilet partially suited for disabled needs an upgrade (see accessibility above).

Nice enough, 'bistro' (cafe) service a bit steady but a decent cup of coffee and some nice looking cakes. Garden centre nicely stocked.

Fab service and beautiful afternoon tea

Firstly to get to the eatery you must walk through the whole shop it's like exiting a theme park ride, to tempt you to buy something. The group of five stopped on route from Cycling. We ordered five coffees and five bacon sandwiches four with egg. It cost £40.40p. I would consider this very expensive and not acceptable....no sevetts. The person that served us was put out because we did not have the exact money. The coffees arrived having been knocked by the server with coffee in the saucers. We will not be returning ever. I will be also posting this review on our website.....

A lovely little Garden Centre. Got lots for the avid gardener. Even happy amateurs like myself won't feel overwhelmed. Picked up a couple of bargains too. I'd highly recommend visiting if you can.
