TJ's Bar & Grill in Corby

So much potential, but sadly no where near reaching it. We visited with friends after a show at the Cube. The service is appallingly slow, lacking knowledge on the menu or availability. On two occasions the waitress had to come back to tell one of the party the food she’d chosen was not available, the first one wasn’t even stocked anymore but was still on the menu but no one told the service staff. Ordered drinks and it took the best part of 30 minutes for them to arrive. Ordered a large bottle of Proseccoto be told they only had small, then they found a large bottle, went to order a second one but they couldn’t find another one, they did still have it on the bill (was removed once requested). There is a good selection of food on the menu, all pretty much beige but we were expecting that. The food is basic, and was a bit overdone. There’s an interactive darts game, the lads added it to our bill but within minutes it stopped working. Apparently there was an interactive golf room there too which is now just used as a storage cupboard, again so much potential. If the team had a senior member of staff who takes pride in their work to improve standards and learn the hospitality trade from this place could do well. Hospitality is not easy but when done well, it can still thrive, especially in a prime location. Based on the service we had I’m not surprised there were very few people there at what should be the busiest time. I am usually a fairly generous tipper but we didn’t leave one at all, and that says a lot! We won’t be back which is a shame as we wanted to support an independent restaurant instead of Nando’s next door.

Far too long a wait for food, considering the place was almost empty. When it finally arrived the food was ok, but nothing special. Staff were friendly, but I don't think we'll be back.

Where do I start with this awful experience. We had to wait over half an hour for our starters to be served despite the restaurant being completely empty. As if that wasn’t bad enough the quality of the food served was absolutely abysmal, a complete insult! We tried to complain about the inedible meal to the manager but he became very hostile (you’ve only got to look at the replies to the 1 star reviews to see for yourself). Avoid at all costs!!!

The food took absolutely ages and it definitely wasn’t worth the wait. Really poor quality food which was inedible. Treated very badly by the manager when we complained. He was extremely hostile. Avoid at all costs. No wonder the restaurant was empty.

Fabulous service, we were shown straight to our table and our drinks order taken. The food arrived in good time and the food presentation was lovely. Lovely atmosphere and brilliant service

Food was tasty, however the milkshake was room temperature and the waitress brought the milkshake dripping from the glasses. Didn't bother cleaning them before serving it too us. The waitress was very slap happy. She needs more oomph. No wonder they never busy with her attitude. Manager was friendly. The waitress really needs to be more customer friendly. I used most of tissues to clean our glasses as she brought one maybe two at the most.

There were 30 members of our party and we arrive late evening (we had pre booked), the food was delicious, staff were amazing, organised and pleasant and we couldn’t fault a single thing. I would personally recommend TJs to anyone and I’m sure as a group, we will be back again in the future. Thank you

The main problem with this place is not the silly opening hours, the awful food quality and taste, or even the untrained young staff that are likely only hired so that they can pay the lowest wage possible. Nope. The main problem is the hostile, argumentative management who make it impossible to even engage in a friendly conversation about any of the former issues and reach a sensible compromise when poor service has been received. Whomever the general manager is, they should rethink having any involvement in the hospitality industry as they have no respect for their customers' time, opinions or money. Although, reading through the previous Tripadvisor reviews, I'd dare say that they do it for the thrill of an argument, as they only seem to respond to their negative reviews. I'd rate 0/5 if I could!

Daughters choice on her 12th birthday. Waitress was friendly and warned us about waiting times on some dishes but in all honesty didn't think we waited that long. Food was very nice and portions good. Couldn't eat it all. All came out hot. Was lunchtime so not sure how it would be when busier, only about five tables sat at when we where there which was a shame as nice restaurant and atmosphere. Would like to experience it in the evening but overall a nice venue. Had been before a while back and thought the food and menu had improved.

Party of 10 for my twin girls birthday. I had previously had a delivery from just eat and food was lovely. 1st time actually eating in and my daughters decided on it because there is alot of selection for vegan/vegetarian. Service we received was 10/10 ( sorry i forgot the young girls name but she was brilliant) all came home with full bellys. We will defo be back again soon. 10 meals and not 1 complaint all served together without to much of a wait well done and thanku for making my daughters birthday meal enjoyable. Also have to mention the yummy cocktails 😁

Once again, we had a family meet up, the restaurant was buzzing, rugby was playing and the atmosphere was fab. As a group of 13, we were given a great long table. As the food arrived, the noise softened as we tucked in. So much variety around the table and as I’ve been many times, I decided to try the Asian Bowl along with popcorn chicken. Yum yum! The Asian bowl set my tastebuds alive, fresh, tasty and very filling. All around me the family were enjoying their meals and drinks. Staff were great, helpful and friendly. Prices are very reasonable and boxes of excess food went home. Thanks all at TJ’s - you never let us down.

This was our first time visiting and unfortunately we won't return. This has to be one of the worst meals we've eaten out. My husband ordered fish and chips and the fish was of low quality and overcooked making it exceptionally hard. The fajitas were almost inedible. 2 flour tortillas with 3 cheap, and what appeared to be, long life cream, salsa etc. The chicken and vegetables lacked in flavour and we're so soggy, they actually came in their own bath of juices. We didn't think to take pics and maybe we just got an off night as others have posted positive feedback. Other than the poor food (which was reasonably priced) there were no issues with staff, service was quick and its a nice atmosphere.

Staffed with teenagers with no training. Overpriced pre made packet food. Portion sizes where good but food was bad. Won’t visit again. I can go to Iceland & get the same tripe to reheat at home.

Ordered a chicken burger without cheese, but with bacon (paying extra for the bacon). Recieved a plain chicken burger with chips covered in cheese and bacon bits, being allergic to cheese, my dinner was ruined. Never ordering from here again, as a basic intellectual ability seems to be a luxury, not a guarantee.

Visited the restaurant recently with friends and had a lovely night. Waitress , Amy , was absolutely brilliant and asked us if we needed any more drinks and made sure that our meal was comfortable for us and we were well catered to. Thanks tjs :)

Group of 9 had a meal and drinks… service was excellent, staff couldn’t have done more for us, wide variety of food and good vegan/vegetarian selection. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered. Definitely recommend, will definitely visit again!!

Ordered via Just-Eat this evening, get a message saying it had been delivered, which it hadnt as doors had not been chapped and cameras showed no action. Phoned TJ's who advised us nothing to do with them and to phone just eat which i did. They advise it would need to be investigated and we would need to order and pay again for our order (possibility of refund at later date).Phone TJ's back to discuss and straight away advised it was not their problem; as the supplier kind of is your issue. Attempt to discuss and customer service was shocking. Had the person on the phone been more understanding or explanatory I wouldn't have felt the need to leave a review but following seeing numerous people unhappy with their orders on social media I felt the need to leave a review. It is a real shame as when open I have always supported and enjoyed the food and hate to leave a negative review but dont want anyone else out of pocket like we are.

We have eaten from Tjs many times. We enjoy it and we are amidst the lockdown and what better take out to get than pub grub at home! The burgers beef, chicken etc always packed, but more the reason why is because they provide a fantastic service for gluten free. My Daughter has not been affected in any way after eating from here. So for many reasons but mainly this one alone stands out for us! I would go to TJs any day of the week if you’re looking for pub grub at a good price and good portion sizes...! But the one thing that lets them down is a different type of service, separate to their business, but used by them is Uber..!!! It took them almost an hour to collect my food after it was cooked and then brought it to me in the most horrendous state! They are literally picking up so many jobs the can’t keep up! So if I am going to order from this fantastic food joint in the future (which I most definitely plan to) I will simply jump in my car (even if I do have a rubbish and most tiresome day) and go and collect it... remove any middle men. Highly recommend!! I used to come tjs quite a lot but found it went down hill BUT since it’s been reopened/renovated it’s back to its former glory!! The restaurant is now warm and welcoming & the booths are so private! The young girls working were really attentive and polite. Food was back to being amazing!! I’m glad we decided to give it another try! We will be back!! :) :)

Such a lovely place with amazing staff and atmosphere. Brilliant variety of vegetarian food and delicious cocktails. It has beautiful decor and all in all is just a great place that never fails to please me and my guests. Definitely my favourite restaurant in Corby.

The service was extremely slow, you can see the chefs cooking and one was on their phone constantly while preparing food. The halloumi was cold and barely cooked. They forgot part of our order. Would not recommend. Won’t be going back.

If I could give zero stars then i would do. I am a regular customer and I usually order from Uber eats. I usually order the haystack burger which is a halloumi with mushroom and pickle/chutney. When I usually order I request to have a tomato instead of mushroom as I cannot eat mushroom and also I request it without the pickle sauce. I have a hiatus hernia and gastritis so I have to be strict with what I eat. The last time I ordered it came with all the pickle on when I requested without and the halloumi was extremely thin. (More bread compares to halloumi). When I ordered this evening I wrote in the comments without sauce and also asked for better halloumi as last time I didn’t get much. I placed the order on Uber eats and shortly after I received an email saying TJ grill had rejected my order. I rang them up as I was confused. I was passed onto the manger who spoke to me disgustingly. He was clearly hurt by my comments stating I didn’t get much halloumi last time. He then proceeded to say I was asking for more on my comments. This is not the case. I simply requested can I actually get some halloumi on the burger. Also the previous time I ordered before we didn’t receive an apology for the order being wrong. They did remake it and send it out again but that seemed like a hassle for them and as customer you should not be made to feel like this. So on tonight’s delivery I was told by the manager they cannot fulfil my order because “I had requested too many changes” I don’t feel that asking for my burger without pickle and a tomato instead of a mushroom is too much to ask for. Especially if it’s due to my health issues. He then began to get aggregated and annoyed that I commented on the little halloumi and said “Suzanne what do you expect me to do?! It’s hard times right now” I responded and said I can’t believe you are talking to me like this as your customer the way he raised his voice. I also said I would expect a phone call to explain why my order had been rejected rather than an email. I then said are you the manager which he replied yes. His tone of voice was raised and the way he manages is honestly shocking. I came off the phone upset being spoken to in that manner. Would they have declined my order if I wasn’t a walk in customer and asked for it without sauce and without mushroom and reject me from sitting in and raise their voice to me. He was clearly hurt that they had gotten the order wrong last time and I then commented on the little halloumi. As a manager rather than speaking to your customers in this was maybe take feedback from your customers to improve. Very unprofessional. I feel sorry for the people you manage because if you can speak to your customers in this way god knows what you speak to you staff like. You will probably reply back an arsey response the same as the way you spoke to me on the phone. But from other people’s reviews it looks like I’m not the only person who’s been spoken to like that from you. You will be losing customers. Maybe you need more managerial training. Or better still a course in good manners.

We were a table of 2. The staff were polite and professional but very busy. Nothing was too much trouble for them but we did have to ask for condiments, a side dish we'd ordered and another round of drinks. Normally you're asked if there is anything else when your brought your meal but I appreciate things are a little hectic in the current times. Food was amazing, good sized portions and lots to choose from on the menu. Very quick to clear the table though we had to explain we were having a few minutes rest before attempting to finish our meals. Weve been before and it's not usually so busy, I'm sure the staff are just adjusting to the new way of 'normal'

Had drinks while we ordered and despite how busy everyone seemed we were able to to take our time and soak up the atmosphere. We had three courses all of which were excellent. My son took me for a meal with his little brother aged 8....was very apprehensive as I hadn't eaten here before but let me tell you I will be back the food was amazing and the service fabulous... people need to try this restaurant as it's the best in town by a long shot.

Went to get a nice bit of food with a couple of beers and left after 2 minutes very annoyed. Ordered the beers to be told they didn't have what we wanted. When we complained that this had happened on previous occasions the owner came over aggressive and started having a go about us complaining. As we left we were subjected to more abuse and name calling. Great way to run a business. Needless to say we left and went elsewhere. Won't be going back ever

Went last night, didnt realise it was government scheme night. We had to wait for a table as we had not booked. Waitress was very helpful and food was good.

Wasnt very busy but still took 20 mins to take our drinks/food order. Ended up taking an hour from sitting down to get our food. Was very hard as we had children with us. Also as we were bigger family group than 6 we were spread over to tables, which was fine, but the children were talking over the booths to each other and someone came out and barked at us not to let them climb, they weren't they were just talking. Also one of us had ordered quorn but was given chicken, but no one came back to ask if ok, and with waiting so long we just left it. The food overall was average. Not major issues just a build up small issues. Wouldnt go back.

Little busy restaurant and small, inside the small place is full, but outside have some free table, if the weather is good pleasant, but is england so big surprise is not rainy or windy . The stuff is friendly and fast. I eat beaconator burger is very delicious . Have lots of desserts.

We ordered a take away via Uber eats during lockdown and again tonight.. We really enjoyed our meals both times. Lovely and hot, cannot complain! I added onion rings ( I thought it was a side but it was supposed to be in the burger) but even so they weren’t.. I rang asked the question and they sent me out a side of onion rings of about 10 minutes of ringing. They were really great about it and had no issues. Overall a really good experience ! Look forward to actually sitting down and enjoying our burgers soon enough. Brilll !

Got a takeaway Friday. One of the loveliest burgers I’ve ever had, would highly recommend. Try it for yourself, don’t listen to others.

I've not been inside yet but since I've been in quarantine I've ordered from here twice. The burgers from here are second to none I've tried, absolutely lovely. The second time I got an order in with friends and they were as impressed as I was. Hopefully I'll get in once the lock down lifts, I'll never order from anywhere else again in corby though after trying TJS, 10/10.

Good food, small portions, poor service when busy, the waitress cleared our plates, but didn’t ask us if we wanted anything else, we asked her for two more drinks, she said she would get them after she dealt with another customer, she came back about 10 minutes later, and said she would get the drinks soon, but we decided to pay and leave as it looked like we would be waiting a while as she was the only one working, while the rest if the waiting staff were standing behind the bar talking, this was my first visit and sadly will be my last.

I went yesterday with my mate for a drink. All because Paletto was full. Anyway, the place is nicely decorated inside. The seats were made out of aluminum, I think, but they were quite comfy. It's a nice place to stay in. I ordered a latte and my friend a beer. The waitress brought the drinks and placed them on the dirty wooden table. And here is when it went downhill. Not only because the table still had bread crumbs on it but also because I was only brought the glass of latte and that's it. No sugar on the table. No spoon. No saucer to place the spoon on after stirring the latte. I had to ask for all of these items. Simple stuff but how do you f**k it up ? Of course the waitress didn't take the empty glass when I finished drinking. It seems like a trend here in the UK. You have to ask for the table to be cleaned. I also couldn't find the breakfast on the food menu. Only on the blackboard outside. Maybe my eyes ran too fast. The food smelled nice and seemed delicious however I decided not to order anything because God knows how else I was going to be surprised.

Popped by for lunch yesterday, Can say I was very impressed with the friendly welcome, it was busy and “Teri’s” service was still exceptional despite running around catering for others. Very quick service and we all enjoyed our well cooked food, very large portions and well presented. Excellent value for money, thank you :)

We decided to try TJs for first time had very warm welcome staff so polite and very helpful had a stack burger that was the best burger I ever tasted full of flavours well be coming back well definitely recommend people to go there just wow well done team TJs Corby.

Visited here today (7th September) before watching a movie next door. We walked in, was greeted by a lovely waitress and said we can sit anywhere we like. We chose a booth for three of us. After a few minutes of perusing the menu, the waitress came over and asked for drinks, we ordered and they arrived promptly after ordering. We ordered a nachos starter, arrived in a plastic basket with a wax type napkin inside. The nachos were plenty for three to share. They came with cheese, salsa, sour cream, guacamole and jalapeños. Maybe the nachos could of been warm but they did taste lovely. My husband and his best mate both ordered burgers. These burgers looked delicious when bought to the table. They had plenty of cheese, bacon and salad in (both of them took the salad out) and a surprise of frazzles crisps in them too! Never seen a burger with crisps in, nice surprise. They came with skin on fries.I had the Piri Piri Chicken Pita, very nice indeed. I did take the chicken breasts out to cut them into slices to fit in the pita better. They had salad and cheese in also. Skin on fries came with them. Delicious meal and filling. All three meals came on a tray each with a wax type napkin underneath. The meals were scrummy and will very much be back. This restaurant also offers defence and blue light card discount. We will be back, it was great food, great service and clean.

Visited here on Saturday morning with my son. It was empty apart from two other customers so we choose to sit in a booth. However the table was sticky so we moved to a clean table. We both ordered a full English breakfast which should had included grilled tomatoes and baked beans, however the waitress returned say theses two item were missing and we could choose an extra sausage or bacon in their place. When the breakfast the mushroom was deep fried and dripping in oil, also the bacon was deep fried and inedible. The waitress asked how was our meal and I said about my disappointment concerning how it was cooked and served, she was complacent and walked away, we paid out full bill and left.

we had a great time here. the food was lovely. also was playing great music as we were singing to every song lol. one slight criticism, we met tj and he told us that we could pay separately however the waiter didn't let us so there was a lack of communication but we are willing to overlook this and come again. Mr TJ was welcoming and so were the staff. nice and clean toilets :p

First time we had visited since it had become TJ's Bar & Grill. We weren't disappointed either! Food was really good, we will definitely be back. Love the cocktails as well. Imaginative and tasty 😋

The host was amazing 'Terri' she was the most accommodating and refreshing person I have had the pleasure to meet in a long time.. AND I eat out often. She was just brilliant and had amazing communication skills absolutely made our night. Food was okay but Terri made the night.

After Nando’s next door ignored us and kept letting customers jump the queue for a table, we came here with a very short amount of time before our screening of End Game began. Should have come here first!

Visited Friday night, we were seen straight away, food and drink orders were taken quickly. Food came out quickly considering it was busy and was very tasty! The portion sizes were perfect, bottomless drinks were great. Desserts were amazing and the staff were all very polite and helpful. Facilities were clean, will definitely be visiting again :)

I visit the USA quite a lot and I like the theme of this type of American diner/sports bar. Starter was topped nachos with salsa, cheese etc and it was really, really nice. Mains were the chicken fajita and this is why I didn’t give 5 out of 5. The chicken wasn’t a breast of chicken sliced on top of the peppers and onions as you would expect. The chicken (and there was a lot of it) was the cheaper, mis shaped chicken that probably comes in a massive bag and a large scoop is probably then fried up. I wouldn’t have that meal again because I do like to see one nice breast of chicken and not lots of funny shaped pieces of chicken. I would however visit again but pick a different main.

First visit loved the food service was good staff very helpful and welcoming really enjoyed it will come again

Just left TJs bar and Grill, the place on arrival was fairly quiet, but shy of waiting to be seated for roughly 3 or 4 minutes.

After giving this place a fab review from earlier last year, I revisit in Nov 18, this time with 7 family members, including my parents, who I had sung it's prases to! It was disappointing, the food was no where near as good as the first time I visited, my dad said it was definitely nothing special and my daughter's burger had a large chunk of crispy dry cheese on it. I wasn't impressed with my food either, below average.

I visited TJ's at lunchtime and the tasty food and lovely service exceeded my expectations. Demi the waitress was friendly and efficient. Food arrived quickly and I was surprised at the huge size of portions - I only had a starter and 2 sides (cost less than £10 in total) and that felt like plenty of food, not a little lunch that I'd planned :-)

Arrived quite excited to try this place. Left VERY disappointed.

8 of us came to eat, they had one sirloin on a Sunday at 6pm (we found this out after two people ordered it then 25 minutes later, they came and said there was only one). The drink selection was shocking. The food took ages to come out, even though the place was dead. 3 of the 8 people sent their food back, a devout Muslim asked for no pork and they put a sausage and gammon on the middle on the plate. The steak had zero flavour on it and portion size was terrible. Actually couldn’t think of anything worse, than coming here to eat.

Just before Christmas...decided to have a break from cooking and cleaning. Had enough to treat the family. Tied it in with the Christmas Carnival...had a great time...plenty of young Christmas workers in there but the enthusiasm was tangible and the orders were correct...enjoyed the whole experience. Everyone made an effort...the Chef did an excellent job of the steak, and the Salad was crisp with freshly cut onion...a good sign. As they say in parts of Corby when there is potential for complaint...I can assure all 'Nae Bother' here...really enjoyed the break from cooking and cleaning.

Me and my 21 year old son went to watch the football and it was awful..no cider on tap no good lager and it wasn’t even 6pm but the barrels weren’t getting changed..it’s not a sports bar but not good enough to be anything else..could be good but if it doesn’t show any effort it will be shut soon..crazy that I’ve said to a few people that I was in there last night and no one knew where I was talking about !!.I wanted to rate it zero but don’t think I can do it gets a low one.

Had a meal with my husband, nephew and niece. Have to say the staff were amazing and couldn’t do enough for us. Very friendly. Food was amazing, delicious and filling. This has new management since June 2018 so any reviews before them are not relevant to the quality of food and service. Manager was so accommodating and friendly. Would highly recommend eating here.

I came here with my friends and we were disappointed with the service, the food and the drinks. It took us about 20 minutes to be seen to, no one checked up on the table, and once someone complained about their food, the member of staff was rude in response. We also had to wait for our plates to be cleared for around 15 minutes. The only positive was the cocktails.

Went here with my son and thoroughly enjoyed it. The lady that greeted us had a welcoming smile and gave us a choice of seats and took our drink order. The food was fantastic as well and pretty quick, which I would expect as it wasn't busy when we arrived, it soon started filling up though. We will definitely be back.

I ate here a few weeks ago on a friends work night out - I had steak fajitas. The steak was a little dry, like it had been sitting waiting on the rest of the food. It was nice enough, but I wouldn't rush back. There's much nicer places in town.
