Tipu Sultan MaJestic Dining in Birmingham

Came here last night for Eid with my wife and daughter. Very busy however the excellent waiters got us a nice table with plenty of space for the little one. Food came very quick piping hot loads of flavour. Butter chicken was made CORRECT! Not with coconut sauce so stupidly sweet but a mild dish. The gosht sultani was amazing. So were the naans. Great service not too pricey. Just under £50 for everything with drinks. Thank you for not changing your recipes! I am sick of going to restaurants and they make sweet curries

What dreadful food. Ordered the palak chicken and it came loaded with methi. Asked them to take it back and make it with spinach only and they admitted they can't as they don't make the food fresh they just heat up ready made food. Got achari chicken instead and it was boiled chicken drowned in oil no masalla or Achar taste at all. But very salty. Hyderabadi lamb slightly better but again old ready made food heated up and as a result too dry and no masala. Used to come here a lot when I lived in uk but won't ever come back again On top of that when I complained to the manager his response was "we are serving hundreds of people so we don't care about your complaint" Dreadful

Heard so much about it , but really disappointed 😞 ,everything was just below average, we prefer Leicester one , only good thing we're the waiters, they were very polite and efficient.

Their food is very tasty and fresh. They can get extremely busy at times but I felt they cope well. My children loves going there. Their lamb chops are amazing My second visit from London to Birmingham again within 5 months with family. The photos don't do justice to the quality and taste of the food. surely will be going back again.

We made a reservation through Google which was accepted and confirmed by the restaurant, but on arrival we found that no table had been reserved. Unsure if this is the standard at Tipu but they seemed to operate on a fully walk in basis - staff noted down the name and group size and then you simply had to wait until a table of your party size was cleared. We were eventually seated 40 minutes after our 'reservation'. Extremely disappointing given our reservation was accepted by the restaurant and we had booked this time in advance to align with when our fast opened (month of Ramadan). Once seated service was also really slow. They refused to bring starters with mains so we had to wait even longer before those who did not order a starter could eat (now 1.5 hours after fast has opened).

Poor service .. poor food quality

They need to go easy on the chillis you say mild and get a really hot curry not matter what. Humanly not possible to eat their biryani due to the amount of chillis shame really could be really great. I do like the food but I don’t want to pay the price two or three days later. Iftari time food arrived 20 minutes too early. Was cold when we opened fast with no acknowledgment that it would cold. Asked them to keep warm but they couldn’t and the restaurant was not busy..

I called the restaurant to order some food to collection, food was ready when we arrived, we ordered a selection of grilled starters which fed around 7/8 of us with salad etc, the food was fresh and really nice! Service was also really good…

Avoid in Ramadan. We were served 15-20mins before iftar so the food had gone stone cold.

Two hours stil the food not delivered from the sufi shaitaan that worship the graves and keep idols statues in the shop. WARNING PLEASE BE AWARE DON'T ORDER FOR RAMADAN TWO HOURS LATE ALREADY, ALSO NOT SURE HALAAL OR HARAAM HAVE STATUES IN SHOP.

Had a family party booked spent over 25 people spent good amount of money the waiter was very abrupt and rude food took forever to arrive order was mixed up TIPU no longe has the service or quality will not be going there again sorry

Went to Tipu Sultan on Saturday 9th March was absolutely appalled my service. It seemed every request was too much trouble. Could we have cutlery, could we have the right number of chairs? I was asked to pack all the plates after the starter. I wanted the starter and main to come together that was also not possible. Some of the food came out cold, will not visiting again!

We were a large group sat over 2 tables and 1 tables order was taken, their food had arrived before the other tables order was even taken! We had to call a member or staff over to take the order for table 2. After this issue was resolved staff were attentive and did look after us. The food arrived and was nice and hot so you could tell it was freshly cooked. However, some of the food was heavily spiced. My mouth was on fire from the spices so couldn’t really finish it.

I haven't been here since before COVID. A group of colleagues from work went, and it was a very nice experience. The food was good, the attentiveness of the start was spot on. As went at 5:30pm, we pretty much had the place to ourselves.Have to bring the family again next time.

Food has improved quite a lot. Curry was nice and if you like spicy food then this is the place to visit. Bryani was not how it used to be, lacking a bit of flavour but if you add gravy it does the trick. Drinks are nice and cool at the same time. Very busy after 7, had a great atmosphere, was excellent for families, and the service was good.

The ambience was so good , the food was also good not bad but.. they don’t give water for free we need to buy a water bottle ok that is fine but we finish food and my Frd got stuck the food in the through we asked for glass of water cuz the bottle is to much to us but they haven’t given water for us but we spent 151£ there but they haven’t given single glass of water how humans are they from ..? I literally didnt like the way they did it

came on Saturday in the afternoon was busy for 2pm..we was sat down straight away when we got to reception..ordered mix grill and chips and smosa chaat..was disappointed the mix grill was so small and expensive for £26 like there was just 2 lamb chops and 2 sheekh kebabs rest 1 each..smosa chaat was nice..and mains we had nihari that was alright but didn't hit the mark overall.. water is bottled which they sell no jug water ..parking is available outside ..It is expensive for the food there are other restaurants who sell nicer food

Ruhul Amin was our waiter and we were very well looked after His suggestions and his attention was greatly appreciated Would ask to be sat in his ‘zone’ when you visit We had the chilli handi lamb, butter chicken, chicken Karahi, lamb chops… all were delicious Thank you team

I've been here a few times in the evenings now and a Sunday lunchtime. It's always a pleasure to eat here. The service is excellent and servings are plentiful. I love the decor, the purple chaise longue and the carved wooden swing seat -it all adds up to a wonderful ambience. I can't eat food that is very spicy so my choices were limited and I wish I had a higher tolerance of spice so that I could enjoy more options because it all looks delicious. However, I found a couple of less spicy choices which I could manage (like the Dahl Makhani, which even at one chilli rating is too hot for me to finish the whole serving but they always give me a doggy bag so I can finish it at home) and the mango lassi is superb and always helps to cool my mouth.

Absolutely awful food. After looking at the fantastic reviews I thought for sure we was going to really enjoy all the £75s worth of food but my gosh it was awful! Waited over 2 hours for delivery, food was cold, spicy and just horrible. Avoid at all costs!!

I really don't know where all these 5 and 4 stars come from.. I ordered from here Saturday 24th Feb. Had to ring 5 times in the space of 2hrs asking where the food was. Even though they had marked it down as delivered on the Just Eat app within the hour (Crafty). The food did eventually find it's way to my door, just over 2hrs it took, and luke warm to cold. The food was awful. It all went outside. Even the Seagulls left it the following morning. The mint sauce smelled off. Just avoid this place and ignore all the positive stars/comments.

Disappointing. Ordered a Chicken Murgh Biryani - the chicken was dry and the biryani itself wasn't flavourful or spicy enough

BEWARE - FOOD POISONING!!! Believe me or not, I came here the other day with my family, next day we all fell sick and constantly had to rush to the bathroom. It’s absolutely disgusting, food was not even fresh and sizzling hot. Felt stale and got cold immediately. We don’t even know what happens back in the kitchen. Absolutely rude stuff as well, please be aware!!! And please be extra cautious, if I could report this business I definitely would but me alone would not make any difference. Please be extra careful.

Starters, wow best lamb chops ive had to date and very tasty onion bhaji.mains had plenty of flavour to them beautiful cooked rice and mango and pineapple salad.will definitely be returning .

Environment was good but food wasn't special,we ordered Peshawari gusht it was bland so chops were good but not special. Staff was also good waiter was quite friendly.

Heard a lot about this place so came today as we were in the city, did not disappoint and food on point. Nice atmosphere and good attentive service, everything ordered was just perfect.

The entrance and the restaurant is nicely done up, food is amazing, and everything in the picture one or 2 more items came to £83.20 which was not bad for 2 people. They have a decent size car park with a gard.

I've been a devoted customer at Tipu Sultan for over 10 years, enjoying the delicious food and the ever-helpful staff. However, since the restaurant reopened post-COVID, there's been a noticeable surge in prices. What's more, the new policy of denying customers free tap water and instead replacing it with the purchase of pricey bottled brands is disheartening. This practice seems petty and contradicts the welcoming atmosphere I've appreciated in the past. As a steadfast patron, I implore Tipu Sultan to reconsider this policy, as it goes against the Islamic values that I have associated with the establishment for so long.

It was okay @ 50%. The atmosphere was nice, and the service was decent. Food Quality vs. Price & Taste needs an adjustment. This place is okay to visit once or twice annually.

Absolutely terrible service and food. The food was low quality cheap bits of meat, no flavour that was remotely authentic. The service was even worse. The waiter was so rude and practically threw the plates at us. Had to pay for bottled water as they refused to give us tap water. If you don't know about good Indian food, this place will probably do but if you want authentic Indian food and great service stay far away from this place, it was a complete waste of time and money!!!!

During my recent visit to the restaurant Tipu Sultan Majestic Dining for a milestone birthday party with over thirty guests. I was very disappointed with the overall dining experience. The service, in particular, left much to be desired as there were noticeable delays in both food and drinks (it took over 90 mins to receive our 1st course). The waitstaff's attitude further compounded the issue, creating an atmosphere that fell short of expectations. It was a rather disheartening experience that detracted from what could have otherwise been an enjoyable meal. I will never return and waste my well earned money and time!!!

17 of us visited for a family birthday. This place was always recommended so was really pleased to be visiting. What a disappointment! The service was absolutely awful. The waiter was rude, unhelpful and obnoxious. I had to gather the starter plates myself as he started to hand out the main course. He tried to hand my meal to me but clearly I couldn’t take it as I had a pile of dirty plates in front of me. He then proceeded to shout at family members to remember what they had ordered. We had to ask three times for cutlery to eat with, it didn’t arrive so I had to go and ask someone else. When the cutlery arrived it was just a knife - no fork or spoon. My starter was ok, the main was terrible! When we left I was assisting my Dad into the car as he has Parkinson’s Disease. The car park attendant shouted at me to hurry up and move. Finally to top off this disastrous night out, the meal made me ill. We certainly won’t be visiting here again and I recommend others don’t either!

Very much disappointed with the service of this restaurant. We had a party of 40+ and had one waiter on our table. This obviously meant that the service was extremely slow. We waited for over an hour and a half just to have our starters and when our main course arrived it came in parts which meant that we couldn’t eat the food when it was served. Overall, I would definitely not go back to this restaurant again, because I think it’s very unorganised, not very good value for money and overall bad service.

Went in at lunchtime, not too busy, so service was good, traditional Pakistani food with bags of flavour and all well cooked.

Nice interior and the curry's are nice. It would be great if the restaurant replaced Coke, Sprite and Fanta with alternatives to stop supporting companies that support the genocide in Palestine. This would help their commitment to social responsibility.

Food is nothing spectacular just another simple curry house. Main dishes are good average portion size not too generous. Sides are a let down. Had pilau as side it was lacking flavour salt basic pilau ingredients. Paneer makkani is tasty compared to other places and the mix grill was cooked well. I order and eat in. Staff are polite.

Very average experience, wasnt even busy yet had to wait a while for food, and had to call waiters on multiple occasions before getting food. At end waited 10 mins to order dessert before giving up. Do not serve tap water, instead £2.50 for a bottle which probably gives you 3 glasses

We had a family wedding event at the Tippu sultan restaurant, moseley. From the beginning we were given the right advise in selecting the menu, advising us to use the venue hall rather the hotel sit and eat spot. I think it was the best advise as this venue hall was well lit, spacious, decorated as per our desire, with the clean toilets and well kept prayer area, our guests were overwhelmed with joy. The manager even co operated with the extra parking space we requested and the request for more tables as we had more guests than expected at the last minute. Coming to the food, the canopies and drinks were beautifully arranged on the welcome desk, the starter choice of ours was lamb seek kabab, fish pakora and chicken tikka. They were so delicious with the right spices and the tasty chutney. The mains was pilauv rice, tadka dhal, palak chicken( the best palak chicken I have ever eaten and my family agreed on this too),kadai khosh . The desert was kajar ka halwa ( the best kajar halwa) with fresh ice cream. The food and tea was served hot and the service was so wonderful , timely and courteous. We have all praises for this restaurant and it is a nice place to hold events and the cost is also not much. My best wishes and thanks to the whole team who handled the event today. Spicy food requires less spice top class food

Honestly a massive let down, we've been here before and it was great, but now its horrible we ordered the family platter which was enough for three if not four people but it barely was enough for 2 people, it contained the toughest mutton chops I have ever had, I literally chewed for a minute until my children complained that it was too chewy and tough, we simply thought that it'd be a bad start but when we got our mains the portions were great but it was as if they had swapped the salt in the food for sugar. Apart from that what we were given wasn't even worth the price. I wouldn't even come back.

Came to visit with colleagues after work, who had recommended this restaurant. The decor was beautiful and the food was delicious!
