I had a thoroughly enjoyable visit to the restaurant. The establishment was impeccably clean and welcoming, and the service was outstanding. Tika, the gentleman who attended to us, was exceptionally polite and accommodating, significantly enhancing our experience. The food was superb, particularly the peshwari naan, which was the finest I have ever tasted. I look forward to returning in the future.

Needs cleaning, sticky tables and needs a update, food is just about acceptable.

We hadn't visited in a while but it didn't disappoint. The food was delicious as always.

The place was dim, dirty, with dust all over the chandeliers and sticky, unpleasant tables. I specifically requested that the food be made very mild, but it came out extra spicy. The quality of the meat and chicken was poor, likely mixed with leftovers from the previous night. While the staff were polite, the overall experience was disappointing. We won’t be coming back.

Worst ever eating experience,,,,be careful all tandoori dishes are pre made,,,,,,I ordered mixed grill it was on my table in less than ten minutes SERVED COLD BARBECUE

First thing first the food here was 10/10 delicious, really filling and good portions, the menu needs upgrading as half of the items weren’t available. The restaurant was so dark inside it felt like you were in a different country, the tables were sticky and half cleaned. The service was terrible the guy was rude and pushy, he also got our order wrong twice, like make it make sense. Overall, 20 minutes late if busy / Food was great / service was terrible / total made sense / don’t go when it’s hot outside as they have no Air Con unless you like to sweat and eat!

We ordered a takeaway £90 in total it was cold and not nice and very very greasy would I go here again no. Normally use tipu Moseley but this was nearer.

We went to Shere Khan in a big group of 37 people without any reservations. We were not expecting much considering that we had not pre-booked and it was almost 10:00pm (their kitchen closes at 10:30pm. However it was a great relief that they could accommodate our big group on such short notice and were very helpful with processing our huge order quickly. We tried their combo platter with chips, maghaz, chickens karahi, daal and kerala gosh along with salad and mango lassi. We were very impressed with how quick their service was. The food came promptly and it was all freshly prepared and very tasty. All of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal and we had no issues at all with our order. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We will definitely be going back again.

I have been coming here for nearly 20 years and it is one of the best restaurants when they get it right ✅️. It's conveniently located in Star City in Nechells, Brum. I have seen many staff come and go. I have met the owner on several occasions, and when I have the managers, they suddenly become more attentive, which is amusing. Saj was one the best managers, but he moved to pastures new. However, despite the shortcomings, it is still a lovely place to dine, especially with one's family. We love the peri chicken, lamb biryani, mutton chops with mint sauce, karahi with plain naan. The chutney trays are nice too. The prices, although, higher than they used to be, are still reasonable compares with others. The toilets can do with more attention as it lets it down somewhat. I love sitting in one of the 6 booths. The desserts are slightly above average. I do like the old school classic, cornflake tart with custard. When they get everything right it is simply the best! When they get it wrong they don't want to admit there is a problem. Overall I would wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to all!

I ordered a pick up take away to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. However the way the take away was packed that when my other daughter picked up the box, it left oil marks on her clothing because the take away rubs were not sealed correctly. My daughter had oil marks on her jacket, jeans and jacket.

Great curry house, no fuss, basic but food good, lamb chops are tasty, mains good but i dint like the rice it tastes like microwaved rather than freshly made, otherwise staff offer good service, would return again

Worst place to visit. The staff took the wrong order at our table. My husband, being a nice and polite person, started eating the food. Then a staff member returned to say, “This is not your order,” and grabbed the plate off the table while my husband was holding his spoon. Not only that, but he also rolled his eyes so far up that if he had stayed in that pose for another minute, I was afraid his eyes would never come down.

Went for a meal with my friend, the staff was professional and engaging and had a genuine interest in learning different cultures.

Never Ever disappoints, neighbouring restaurants always have a queue but this is very underrated, quality food and very distinct flavour in all different things we ordered, highly recommend if u haven't tried it already

The achari boneless lamb was full of excess amounts of fat, which was hugely disappointing. I found myself grappling with stripping away numerous pieces of fat, which significantly marred the dining experience. When I fed this back to the manager, he dismissed my concerns, stating it was only two pieces of meat and that I should have raised the issue earlier. His response was unhelpful and he was indifferent to the matter. Considering it was a special day for us, his lack of sympathy and refusal to address the problem was deeply frustrating. Even when the waitress approached him again to see if he could speak with us, he refused, and we were charged in full for the meal. A word of warning to potential diners: PLEASE INSPECT THE QUALITY OF MEAT BEFORE CONSUMPTION. This was such a disappointing experience after a wonderful Eid day, and I hope no other family has to go through the same. Overall, Shere Khan failed to meet the standards one would expect, especially on such a special occasion. I would recommend looking elsewhere for a better dining experience.

It's OK 👌 visit and then you can do it again

First time visiting with family, very good experience. Polite staff and served very quickly. Price fore food are reasonable. Ahtisham the waiter was very helpful, will definitely visit again.

Shere Khan's Star City......... more like Tiger King's Shigellosis Factory, where food is prepared with Shigella dysenteriae or bad strains of E. Coli bacteria relaxing in it. Some of the food and drink seemed enjoyable taste-wise but as soon as I finished my meal, I rapidly felt very ill at the table, getting dizzy, drowsy and nauseated. It must be that lamb briyani that one of my pals said had a questionable taste and disagreeable smell but it also looked like the staff added a lot of spices to try and cover those up. I only tried a tiny portion of the briyani, about 1/4 of a spoon. But my body's immunity reacted adversely to the point where I was bound to throw up over the table. Had to scarper to the Shere Khan Star's lavatory, to vomit a bit of saliva in the toilet to try and clear the sickness caused by that bad lamb briyani. About ten hours later, I started experiencing, repeated, gut-wrenching discomfort in my abdomen as aùwas coming back down the Welsh mountains, followed by a nasty earthquake in men's toilets in the car park facility. Then at around midnight when me and the lads were in a different restaurant in Manchester, the horrible remains of that rotten lamb briyani caused two aftershocks of dysentery accompanied with more gastrointestinal discomfort. The bad bacteria from the lamb briyani interrupted my meal twice with two more secret trips to the loo. I sure won't be eating in Shere Khan's Star City again. Seems like the kitchen staff want their customers to eat "past the use-by-date", old, stale food with Shigella bacteria playing "hide and seek" in the spices so that we can have a gut-wrenching diarrhoea experience. I also suspect there was cross-contamination with how they store the lamb, i.e. cooked lamb together with rotten raw lamb where germs spread from, hence the foul smell of lamb briyani. At least the drinks and chapatti were good and delivered satisfactorily.

Would give zero stars. Stay away unless you want food poisoning. Biryani was off, had bad small, tasted off. Told the waiter who told chef. Chef didn't even try it and sent waiter back. Told the waiter to try it which he didn't. I only had half a spoonful. Next had had major upset stomach and you can imagine what happened next.

Our lamb byrani was off. Sent it back but the manager came out and said the byrani was fine but if we want he will change it. Apparently its the spices they use. This was untrue as we had an executive Chef with us, who had to explain to the manager why it's off. They changed the byrani and didn't charge us but the fact that the manager could misslead us like that means they have done it before. Not nice

The food here is really nice. The service is carried out quickly, efficiently and with care- from entering to giving your order, recieving your food and paying the bill. Have been here a number of times and always been impressed. The lamb chops and achari gohst are particularly nice

The food was well cooked. I enjoyed the butter naan with the mix shere khan grilled platter. The butter chicken handi was beautifully made. They have praying area as well mashallah. My only issue was that the restaurant was a bit 🥵. So if they sorted out the temperature control it would be a 5 star experience. The waitress was very attentive and professional.

Ordered there samosa chaat in starters and it was really good. The best I’ve had in a long time! Also ordered bhunna, and if you’re visiting this place for the first time and are not sure, order the bhuna! It tastes amazing, it’s very flavourful. Their nans were very soft and fresh. A very lovely place! The waiters and staff are amazing, be sure to leave them a nice tip. ❤️

Food quality has gone down a lot in recent years. We had butter chicken it had way too much tomato in it. And generally my whole family that were there said food was not good

Very thankful ND beautiful place

Very disappointing, the food did not taste nice, I have made tastier chaat at home. The mocktails tasted like cheap juice out of a carton. To top it off the staff seemed very confused and did not provide good service. Massive let down.

I would highly recommend this place for Indian/Pakistani food in Birmingham specially their Dhal Makhani is the best♥️👌🏽 Also, we were warmly welcomed by Amna and she was very excellent at her service!!!

Absolutely horrible experience. The place was shabby and not clean, and was lacking any tablecloths; the food was salty, indigestible and had very little resemblance to any decent curry. Moreover, it felt it came straight out of fridge or freezer, quickly microwaved, bush-bash-bosh it came as a stodgy turd in a bowl. There was no soul, no passion in that so called curry house, just three hustling waiters who clearly knew how bad the food was, yet they had the audacity to ask if we enjoyed it. Absolutely appalling experience! The place should be either revamp and have a new chef, waiters and tablecloths, or simply just shut down!

Haven't been to this place in years but we weren't disappointed during our visit. The food was great and staff were attentive. The food was served relatively quickly despite it being a very busy night. The lamb chop starters... if you know, you know. The mains were well spiced and the flavours balanced. The only negatives: the decor seemed somewhat dated/tired and the restrooms seemed as if they weren't being kept clean during service.

Amazing food. Like literally. I am not a Pakistani myself and it was a great experience to try butter chicken one. For me it was a bit spicy but it’s alright. I also had passion fruit juice. Mmmmmmm looooove it. The prices were also okay.

I visited today. The waiter was just looking at us all the time we been there. Ive ordered lamb karahi it was uncooked i could feel that the curry was from previus day. Called manager and told him he was not bothered. I would never go again as i went all the way from nottingham just for dinner with family.

Aman Garu excellent waitress/work at Shere khan I would like to provide you with positive feedback Aman Garu at Shere Khan which I believe is the best waitress in Birmingham. Aman is brilliant in all aspects, his role, his approach, his listening, understanding and Aman response to the issues in finding best ways to address them. Aman is not judgemental nor bias. I full appreciate his time, his hardworking and effort. Although it is his job, he truly take that extra mile (goes above and beyond) to ensure that he provide efficient advice and service. I cannot thank Aman Garu enough.

We went recently. Dated toilets no loo rolls. Lamb chops were big and hard, taste like mutton. Apple crumble was a base of raw dough with apple slices placed on top with separate very thin watery custard.

We went in around half 2sh wasn't rush but waiters were slow, we ordered the sher khan combo which came out after 5 minutes of us ordering and was still cold, when we asked the waiter he had an attitude, anyway they bought it back hot, then our main came out and had a hair in it, they went on fully charging us for our meal until I stated I wasn't going to, its way to expensive, we had 1 mocktail, 2 kids meal and the combo which they charged us £45.00 and there attitude.. won't be going there ever again

The service and food wasn’t good at all

Disgusting, I ordered food today which i have to throw in the bin after one bit because too much salt was in it ,If someone had health issues like High Blood Pressure . They might get sick after having dinner here . Not only curry was full of salt ,Chapati was same too and One item was missing , When i called resturant for missing item .He said we can not do anything for you even though i told him my guests are here ,He said he can not do anything if anything is missing ,When you order next time then we will see . Bad customer service skills this resturants workers had i heard this before but after todays issues i believe people was right. 0 for everything.

This place has been the same for such a long time. The place is due a much needed revamp. You’re greeted well upon entering. Then it’s all a little downhill. The food was lacking that amazing taste that was once present. Our lamb dish was soo oily! Also lacked spice even though we asked for spice. The naan were excellent Dessert is pre-made and a little stale.

Awful. The food was greasy, the meat was dry even though it was cooked in a sauce. It was inappropriately hot (spicy) and lacked salt. No flavour. The staff were not accommodating and one of the lights was knocked out. The chairs were uncomfortable. The restaurant was cold.

Visited yesterday with work colleagues. The decor is very dated. We were the only customers to begin with. The starters were good. Ordered king prawns for main. They came over cooked, hard and chewy and they were not king prawns rather shrimps. When I told the waiter he called the manager. The manager told me that this was their king prawns and that that’s how they are cooked. After repeating myself a few times he offered to remake it. They then brought out UNDER cooked king prawns. The customer service was awful

Went here a few times 2 years ago with non Asian friends and the food was great and we'd always order loads of different dishes. Went yesterday Jan 2024 and had an absolutely awful experience, I want to give zero ratings for everything! The whole place has literally gone downhill. The place is full of rude arrogant managers and waiters with an attitude aswell as waiter staff who can't speak English. The toilets were vile, dirty and disgusting. I wanted to wash my hands before eating but there was NO hot water to wash my hands. As I came out of the toilet I told the female waitress about this and she just shrugged her shoulders and said 'what you want me to do, go talk to the manager', furthermore the toilet locks were broken. The restaurant is dishevelled and tired with outdated decor. Also the waiter staff totally ignore you when you ask for something. The food was utterly bland, asked for Apna style lamb karahi and it tasted as if it was cooked in loads of tomatoes separately from the meat and then thrown together with some chillies on top to make it taste spicy and 'authentic' but it totally lacked flavour. I told the waiter and he didn't have a clue as he couldn't understand English. The egotistical arrogant male managers were hovering around like a really bad smell but didn't have the decency to check up on customers and ask if everything was ok with their food. Shere Khan's lacks customer service in every sense of the word, they just want your money and that's it! Will never step foot in this place again, so embarrassing for me and my non Asian friends as this experience spoilt our whole evening. I am sure there are plenty more places to go to in Birmingham for authentic Pakistani food. Totally disappointed with Shere Khan's.

we ordered as a take out on uber eats we ordered the lamb karahi, we usually eat in and have no problem. So ordered the same as usual everything came good except the lamb karahi it was made super spicy to the point we had to throw it away. my husband can handle spicy spicy food but when i say this was a extra extra spicy i mean it. Not how it normally comes which was a shame and waste of money

Food quality is extremely poor. This use to be a place to go to, but now its gone down hill.

Hands down the worst takeaway in Birmingham. We’ve just had a takeaway delivered, absolutely tasteless Balti. And microwavable rice! Never order from here again! I have eaten inside, and it was fine, but do not order a takeaway from here.

Brilliant place beautiful curry and nice drinks.

Customer service is poor, had to change the drink as was not nice and they called the manager to ask whats wrong with the drink, making me feel its my fault and embarass me infront of others. They are very stingy in how they work. However food was adequate, good portion size, lamb samosas were nice but very greasy and wet in oil.

Love coming here but feels like it could do with a refresh now in terms of decor. Food is great but I would personally like the waiter to check on us more for extra naan or drinks etc... due to us being a group of 12.

Visited Shere Khan 1/12/23 with a friend. We both love a butter chicken. So disappointed with the food. The chutney tray with Poppadums was watered down. The mint sauce tasted like mint aero. Definitely was not yogurt. The mango chutney was watery and tasteless. And it just got worse. The butter chicken tasted like a sweet dish not curry. The place was buzzing with people. Some people walked off having to wait so long for their mains. I know we are facing cost of living crisis but the place was freezing. I warmed my hands on the butter chicken dish. Overall left disappointed and don't plan to go again. Shame really as it was a good place to eat

This place has gone so down hill where do i start! When we came in we didnt get very good seats so we asked if we could move to a better stop. The waitress said let me ask my manager came back and said sorry we cant. We then got another waiter to take our order my partner tried her look and asked again, he said the same thing let me ask my manager came back and astonishingly said yes lol. We then moved and waited to order. The manager said are you waiting we said yes. I thought then he would get someone, he didnt bother at all and completely ignored us after. Finally someone came we ordered the mix grill. The food was a mixed back seek kebabs were good and the chicken wings. The chops were over cooked very chewy but the fish pakora was the worst! Like it was 2 weeks old so dark and looked awful. After we ate the waitress asked was everything ok i told her that the fish pakora was awful that was not fresh it was weeks old. She nodded and just came back with the bill. I wasnt offered any slight discount or apology or anything. As i paid for it i got up but the manager looked at me and completely disappeared as he thought i may ask him something. I didnt get a goodbye or thanks come again. Once id payed everything disappeared. This used to be a great place but not now. I will never come back again after this poor service from them. Oh and one more thing if you get a bottle of drink like we did, a j20 and get a straw dont bother with the straw as its not long enough and sits in the middle. Things like this which just makes this place a terrible place now im sorry but im a truthful person. Please guys go try something else as they really have declined. Once an amazing place such a shame.

As far as food goes, this is one of the best indian food restaurants I have been. Decor is not the best but that's a personal test thing. The service was okay. Would go again cause of the food.

I like starters, main course is not great, I ordered 2 curries very hot, they are too sweet, the worst of all is biryani, all it's is boiled basmati rice topped with red colour tikka boiled chicken, no flavour.

DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU HAVE A SENSITIVE STOMACH !! Me and my friend had butter chicken and samosa chaat trying to play it safe as we had never been here before. The service was OK I even gave the waitress a tip because she looked after us well. The food wasn't amazing but it wasn't too bad tasting either. Now I've been up the day after every hour from 3am to sit on the toilet and so has my friend with recurring stomach cramps. I don't know how they cooked their food but I will never be going there again..

Love dining here, food great 👍 The keema nann ..... which was always a cut above the rest .... no longer has the chopped chillies etc blended it and although it tasted ok last week it definitely was not has it used to be ...., it simply does not have the constantancy of flavours as before...... wondered if they had changed the chef as we went in on a week day so went back on the Sunday (normally our curry date ) and no it was definitely different.... no chillies etc blended in ..... shame as the keema was the best we had ever tasted 😕

Came from London just to try out Shere Khan, we have wasted our money food was frozen, cold and the chicken wings that came were burnt and soo salty. Food was not good at all. We all had a pleasant experience at Shere Khan. Our table consisted of 18 people and Usman catered to all 18 of us and was polite and attentive.
