Tinto Tapas - Hamilton in South Lanarkshire

I would not recommend this place. We had booked, arrived 3 minutes before the time the table was booked for, got told we have to wait for when we have booked, waited 25 minutes, didn't even get an apology. We stood in the entrance like idiots, weren't even offered a drink, so when I ordered drinks I got told "not now". Honestly, I rarely felt less welcome. Food was okay, but nothing special, a bit underwhelming if you expect Spanish food. The orders were all wrong, we didn't get most things we ordered, but got other things we didn't want. And no apologies again. The waitresses were just totally impartial, didn't seem to care about anything, no smile, nothing. And the tables are way too close, we saw people crawling out under the tables to get out.

Good food and staff but wouldn't honour out of date gift vouchers, because of Covid, only extended 6 months but was told 12!.....☹☹

First time tapas experience, first class service and food. Staff were very helpful and attentive explaining menu giving u the best time.

This is probably my favourite restaurant in Hamilton and visit it fairly regularly. The food, service and value are always great. Been many times and never been disappointed.

The restaurant is now called “Sangria” which we visited tonight for the first time and would recommend you try. The food was excellent with a vast choice of tapas dishes but the service was the winner and was absolutely first class.

Visited on Sunday for lunch we were actually going to the Uddingston branch but ended up going to this branch on arrival waitress was very nice, food was very good enjoyed all tapas dishes we ordered, but service was slow , over two hours for lunch and the restaurant wasn't busy, We took the special of three tapas for fixed price which was good value but we each took a dish with a supplement which was an extra five pounds each no supplement prices on menu that we could see,also at home checking the website they were offering a sunday lunch menu which we were not offered, overall enjoyed the food but service and menu/pricing could be better,would probably return or even try another branch.

I recently visited with my friend mid week and had a great tome. Lovely restaurant, staff and great food. Vegan options available. Nice atmosphere.

What a little gem of a place the man on couldn't have been more pleasant and the food was amazing. You must try the desserts they are to die for.

We always enjoy visiting Tapas Tinto. Welcoming, friendly staff, comfortable seating, tables - just the correct size. Excellent selection of tapas & other foods. I know people who'd crawl over broken glass for their churros. You could easily think you were in Espana... They make a reasonable barraquito. Which, we invariably have there. Thanks guys! My family are big tapas fans and decided to try Tinto for the first time to celebrate my mum's birthday on a week night and I am so glad we did- it was a brilliant experience. The service was lovely with very friendly and accommodating staff. The menu was great value, and it was extensive too: I'm a fussy vegetarian and struggled to settle on three tapas, so I will definitely be back again to further investigate.Thank you Tinto for a fab meal!

Went out for dinner on Saturday night with my boyfriend. It was his first time at tapas and he wasn’t disappointed . Service was amazing and staff so friendly. The food was served quickly and piping hot! Food was amazing! We will defo be back.

This is a lovely little restaurant in the middle of Hamilton ! It's £2.50 tapas tuesdays are a real it and you would need to book to get a seat ! We have been twice now and it's been great service and quality food ! Would recommend to anyone

Had issues booking table. Booked through there website. Booking went through but didn't get a email to confirm. You can only pay cash here which I found out once we got there and had to go find a bank. Food was nice and staff were really friendly. Really nice atmosphere. 4 of us had 13 dishes between us and drinks and bill only came to £60 so very good value. Would go back

Very disappointing , have visited over the past few years , but this visit was not up to passed standard , all new staff and new chef also £7.95 for a large glass of wine thought that was a bit steep won’t be back .

I was not at all impressed with the good served up,the portions were small and tasted bland,the tortilla we sent back to th kitchen as it was at least 2 day's old and should never have been served.

Had lunch with my wife, we were looking for somewhere to go that was easy going, friendly and not expensive. The welcome was very friendlly, we were in sharp when it opened so it was quiet.

We visited Tinto on Saturday evening. After reading mixed reviews I was unsure what to expect, but we were not disappointed.

I went with friends and it really hit the spot. It's quite informal inside and Spanish style. I am fussy but we all ordered 3 dishes each and shared.

This restaurant doesn't look much from the outside but is very "Iberian" inside in terms of decor. The food is also very good and very traditional. I've certainly eaten a whole lot worse in Spain.

The food was amazing and the cocktails were lovely. The staff were very friendly and the service was great. Would definitely go back.

Awful - do not order the omelette (from yesterday and cold), or the prawns (all four of the them), the chicken (poorly seasoned, clearly overheated in microwave - rubbery), the cheese (off) with four olives and four slices of really cheap chorizo. You can’t buy these ingredients in the supermarket, because they’d have put them in the bin the day before or would have decided not to stock them as it tastes like dog food.

Decided to do something different for Mother’s Day and booked a table for me and my wife and 21 month old daughter I won’t be doing that again for the following reasons

We stopped for lunch here for a change, I love tapas after living in the Canary Islands for Eight years. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. We ordered six dishes between two of us with a jug of Strawberry Daiquiri and Sangria. The dishes consisted of Patatas Bravas, Serrano Ham stuffed Fig, Gambas Pil Pil, Salted Bacalao, Hamburger Sliders and the Albondigas. Most of the food was brought cold and one of the garnishes were so wilted, we brought this to the attention of the waitress to which she said it was because it was under a heat lamp. Heat lamp couldn’t have been hot enough as every dish was cold! The sliders were dry. The bread and Alioli I asked for came as cold sliced bread which is a massive no no, and the Alioli was out of a bottle. It doesn’t take much even to stick a bit of garlic in some mayo! Plus we left hungry. We usually have Four tapas between us elsewhere and were more than satisfied. Will not be back here but the drinks were good.

Didn’t make a reservation but pleased we were able to get a table for an hour on a Friday evening.

Had an great evening out at Tinto in Hamilton, the food was perfect, wine was wonderful (thanks to the recommendation from the manager) and the service great from the waitresses to the manager, it’s the small gestures that make the difference. Highly recommended

Walking into a restaurant with the chef smoking a fag outside is never a good start to the evening - get your act together Tintos - this is not rocket science!!

We visited this restaurant in the summer and unfortunately it left us a little underwhelmed. The choices were okay but the portion sizes were on the small side even for tapas. The best bit was the sangria so would be happy to go back for a drink but I would think twice before eating there again. The restaurant could do with a good clean as the tables were sticky and I think the whole place could do with a little spruce up.

Attended this afternoon for a work lunch and couldn’t have been better. Service was excellent and speedy, the food was absolute delicious, unbelievable value for money. Really recommend the chicken croquettes and the black pudding in particular but we all licked our plates. 10 tapas dishes and 3 drinks for £31 - bargain! Can’t wait to go back soon :)

Really good extensive menu, 2.50 for each tapas on a Tuesday which is very hard to beat. Everyone enjoyed everything they had. Nice friendly staff would return again.

Had a great time last night in tinto Hamilton the food and the service was first class not been in for a long time trying out some of the new restaurants in Hamilton but keep going back to tinto a warm and friendly welcome makes all the difference

We had to ask the waitress where our food was an hour and 15mins after ordering it!

The worst "tapas" I've ever tasted. Couldn't even slice through the Calamares it was that rubbery - not fit for consumption. "King prawns" tasted defrosted and overcooked - watery and chewy, would put you off prawns forever! Let's not forget the fact I was served 1 king prawn and two deep fried pieces of Calamares to bulk up the dish - sneaky! Chicken croquettes were big deep fried balls of chicken mush - disgusting! We ordered a dish with black pudding, small potatoes and a duck's egg. What we got was ASDA frozen wedges, black pudding and a fried egg on top.

We attend this place regularly and are never dissapointed. The Tapas are really good quality and value (if you go at the half price times). We also just go in for a few drinks with no food. Very nice comfortable atmosphere and staff are friendly.

Hamilton is full of Italian and Indian restaurants so we were pleased to find this Spanish venue for our wedding anniversary. Daily deals on tapas plates and we visited weekday and it was 3 tapas for £9 or £10. Very nice food and a good selection. Service was quick.

Visited Tinto Tapas on Friday 27th July 2018. We'd booked a table for 4 in advance which was ready for us arriving. The service was punctual and friendly despite the restaurant being very busy on the night in question. It was quite apparent that the waitresses on duty that night were kept very preoccupied, but not once did any of them let their friendly and calm demeanor slip, nor did they complain. Top marks for service.

Lovely restaurant with fantastic service. There were seven of us with a good choice of dishes which were all excellent. Great value and will definitely return.

We visited on a Saturday afternoon it was pretty quiet but the service was great and the food was amazing! We had 8 tapas to share and each one was fresh vibrant and full of flavour! Reasonably priced and a lovely setting cannot wait to visit again!

Went here for the first time tonight using an itison voucher for 5 tapas ad a bottle of wine. Very authentic tapas place,rustique and friendly. Waiter friendly and polite. We ordered 2 fish dishes, 2 chicken dishes and 1 meat tapas....all excellent taste and presentation. The dishes were warm, not hot, which annoys me a lot. I struggled to get salt out of the salt and pepper pots. What disappointed me most was that the deal stated 5 tapas and a Bottle of house wine....there was no bottle, only carafes, which are not unopened bottles! I shall go back here if they remedy my 3 negatives points.

Heres is good, especially £2.50 a tapas. come here often. food amazing especially the little burgers. highly recommend it, theres some thing for everybody.

My husband and I really enjoy Tapas so gave Tinto Tapas in Hamilton a try. Safe to say we won't be rushing back.

Was nicely surprised with tinto tapas, the food was lovely, there were a lot of drink options and nice cocktail menu. The place also has a lovely atmosphere and has a nice authentic Spanish feel to it. We will definitely be back!

Cant believe I have walked past this many times and said “must try that place” anyways I have now tried it and i wasnt disapointed! Yes it was a voucher deal however the service was exactly the same as every other table-as it should be, had five Tapas dishes and they were all so tasty, the house wine was also very nice along with our Larios Rose Gin afterwords, for me its one of Hamiltons best places to eat! Quirky and authentic like it has been lifted from Spain and placed in Hamilton! I would return again with a voucher or without as there is plenty to choose from.

Had purchased 2 vouchers for use at West End Glasgow. Used one recently & had a dreadful meal so contacted Hamilton restaurant to see if we could use it there. Slightly apprehensive after our first experience of Tinto but glad we did. Good food and happy serving staff. 5 tapas ordered were tasty and plenty for the two of us. The restaurant had a real buzz about it too.

Was given an itison voucher as a gift for two to tapas in Glasgow however, when I called to book it transpired that the restaurant was closing for refurb the next day!!! They said we could either use the voucher in Hamilton or have a £20 voucher for when the Glasgow one reopened - they couldn't say when this would be other than it would be a few months. We didn't want to travel over to Hamilton but we wouldn't get 5 tapas plates plus 2 glasses of wine for £20 So thought we would just need to go for it... Hamilton was booked. We arrived at 8pm and our table wasn't ready. We were told to take a seat which was fine but it would have been better if we were offered a drink. About 10 mins later we were taken to our table and given the menu. Drinks order took a while but eventually got drinks. We ordered 5 tapas and a seafood paella. The food took a ridiculous amount of time to arrive. Photo attached of the tapas - i am a terrible cook but even i could have put this together in an hour and ten mins!!! The tapas did taste okay to be fair but tapas is usually designed to share. The black pudding was one bit of black pudding and likewise, the chicken with cheese on top was one bit of chicken. Could they not even have brought out the hummus to speed things a long?! Who wants to wait until gone 9pm for dinner?! Anyway after the tapas was finished the plates were cleared and by this point most of the restaurant was cleared too. A further 25 mins later including chasing this up twice the paella finally arrived - that's 70mins after ordering!!! It was okay, too much rice compared to seafood but it could have been worse. Wanted a pudding but didn't want to sit in an empty restaurant. Food bang average at best and service was awful apart from the young girl with long hair which is lighter at the end who was trying her best. Won't be back.

Where do I start , on the waiter showing us to the table , we where quickly told , we are busy , well it is pay week and a Saturday night so I think that would be the normal . We did not get asked if we would like a drink or had we eaten there before to explain the menu , we did have to ask to place a Drinks order , which did arrive we also asked the waiter for a pen and paper which we then got told he could not give us any as again they were busy ,still empty tables around us . A young waitress came over whom seemed a lot more helpful we got the pen paper and another drink as the glasses had been sitting empty for over 10 minutes .

We went for dinner on Saturday for the first time and it was absolutely delicious. Each dish was tastier than the previous one. My favourite had to be the Mussels in Paprika Sauce but it wouldn’t matter what you chose, you will love it. We will definitely be returning again soon.

I visited yesterday afternoon and had a lovely lunch. The tapas were fresh and delicious and the prosecco was great! As we went at lunchtime all tapas were £2.50 each so a really reasonable lunch. We had the sharing churros for dessert which were freshly made and tasty! Will definitely be back!!

Myself and my partner visited here during the week when the deal is on for 3 tapas for £10. We ordered 6 tapas to share, some of them are very small tapas, only around a mouthful each. So we ordered another 3. However despite that, all the tapas were tasty and we didn’t have to wait too long to be served.

My friend had half a carafe of wine and I had a bottle of prosecco and the bill was 59.00 which is excellent .All our choices including chicken strips , paprika prawns and crab cakes were excellent . Wasn't so keen on the dessert but that was a personal choice . The staff were friendly and attentive . Will definitely be back

So when I entered the member of staff was very nice and friendly and polite, we got some drinks and ordered food it came in great time and the food was amazing this is my first time here and I will 100% be back also in learned that they do deliveries as well this will be my next night in take out.

Had amazing tapas with a friend. Can highly recommend food, drinks and deserts. Had a lovely Spanish feel to restaurant which I love in tapas/paella restaurants. So glad to have restaurant like this on my doorstep!

Came here on a Tuesday night with friends, place was empty...should have been a warning to us. The member of staff who seated us was friendly enough to begin with, but took a long time to actually take our order. When our order arrived, plates were missing and the patas Bravas never came with any sauce. Again, for us being the only people in the restaurant, the waiter never came to see if everything was alright with our meal, but spent his time near the kitchen talking to other members of staff.

Whilst the food was good and of reasonable value the service sadly was extremely poor. The plates of food when served up were nearly thrown at you, from a waitress who never smiled or interacted with the customers. Not once did a waitress come to our table to ask if anymore drinks were required and we had to wait an hour for a dessert menu. Very disappointed. Would certainly put me off visiting the restaurant again.

Dropped in on a Tuesday where all dishes are £2.50. Not sure whether you get smaller ones than usual but it was good for the price. Had a fair selection with the standouts being the Bacalao and oddly the mini burgers.

So many tapas to choose from and have tried the majority of them. Visit at least twice a month usually evenings and have never been disappointed

Poor service. Staff not very happy at their work. Food was good. But the Staff let it down. Been a few times although it was last year & the Staff were so much friendlier. Order two drinks & the other never arrived. Paid the bill and left. It looked to be the bar manager that missed the drink. The staff were also talking about some customers that were in and they were not being very discreet. I found this very unprofessional. Won't be back !!

Out first visit . Friendly staff, extensive menu and reasonably priced wine list . Good pre theatre menu. Best for me was the calamari, spare ribs and the .fig dish. Chicken skewers and meat balls over cooked for my taste. Well worth a visit great atmosphere and friendly helpful staff

Been in a number of Tinto's before so though we would try here.

Visited on Friday night for the pre theatre deal - good value. The food was excellent and there was a large choice to choose from. The service from the waitresses was very friendly and extremely helpful. Will be back soon.

Been here a couple of times and cannot fault the food. Would recommend visiting mid-week as they have some great deals on. Only thing I would fault would be the length of time you have to wait on your food and that's when it's quiet! Won't stop me going back though.

Visited with my partner and son on Saturday about 12.30pm.The menu is great and everything for £2.50 per tapas, my son had mussels and it was £2.50! what's not to like.

Had an superb lunch this week at Tinto's in Hamilton. They have a very good tapas selection, available at special offer prices.

We've visited here three times now in the last six months and have never been disappointed.

Visited Tinto Tapas last night and all I can say from start to finish it was fantastic. This isn't the first time we have eaten here and it certainly won't be the last!!

I can't really rate this more than one being fair. We visited at lunch time mid week and aside from one party of around 8 which had already ate...it was empty. We were given our menus and told that people order 3 dishes and find that enough. We were then left alone after being served drinks for around 20 minutes. When the waitress took our order we ordered 6 items and she then said ok thanks that is 6 and took my partner's menu away.....we hadn't finished ordering and I'm pretty glad about that. We wanted to sample the menu and ordered 9.

5th visit to restaurant, very disappointed. Ordered 3 tapas one of which was hummus, it had the taste and consistency of semi -set concrete, the accompaniments were 4 thin slivers of yellow pepper and half a stale pitta. We then ordered one of the specials and pan fried sardines, special was off and the sardines consisted of a deep fried LUMP. I could have done with a fossil hunter's hammer to see what was inside the carbonised lump.

Picked this restaurant as it had been recommended.

Enjoyed a nice glass of Sangria with a few tapas. Seafood stew was the best. For me the patatas bravas was disappointment as sauce was separate and obviously not authentic but this is a chain . I recommend this place as the staff are friendly and quick.

Been looking forward to visiting this new addition to Hamilton. First impressions are very good. It's got a little bar area to the front, and I'm sure it's says cava bar somewhere. We got seated straight away, and all our waters and waitresses were really nice. And then it all fell apart. I ordered goat. No goat. Pork? No pork. Good grief. Well, I'm in a tapas bar. I'll take the sardines. No sardines. In a tapas bar? Come on.

Nice restaurant. Nice food. We did the three tapas for £9.50 good value. Staff was nice on entrance. Very rushed to order. Just in the door and within five minutes we got asked to order but I will give them their dues they got busy once we sat down. The house wine was really good along with the food. Would go again.

We decided to start the diets another day so went out for an evening meal. We have seen this in passing but had never thought to go in until today. We were pleasantly surprised by the choice particularly of vegetarian options. The food was delicious, the wine was amazing and the service was excellent. We will be back when we put the diets on hold again.

Have been to this restaurant for lunch and dinner several times over the past 6 months. Had not tried tapas before and found the experience pleasurable as the food is very tasty with great choice reasonable price and although I am fussy have always loved every dish I had had. Have taken friends and neighbours with us and they were also impressed and enjoyed the food

Excellent selection. Fresh hot serving food. Great bar & cocktail area too. Service excellent. One thing desert wasn't the descriptionb on menu called tinto ice cream with tablet & hot fudge sauce. No tablet but when asking for hot fudge sauce waitress brought some. Cool music beautiful decor.
