Tinto Tapas in South Lanarkshire

Food is excellent. Service is beyond excellent. Highly recommend the churros. Anything off the main is great. Rest of the review is filler.

We visited after an afternoon in the nearby pub. It was busy and had a good atmosphere . it looks to have a bar downstairs but we were seated in the upstairs area. Standard of the food was above average and we all ordered 3 tapas for £14 each. I think we were brought some extra dishes as the table was full , All dishes were hot and tasted great. Staff were all very nice and chatty there was a real buzz about the place . They did not have the first bottle of wine we ordered butt ended up with a very good Spanish Rioja, I think it was more expensive than our first choice . Glad we went and will make it again after a visit to the pub. Good value for money.

Absolutely love tintos. Service sometimes a bit slow but the food makes up for it. It's first class and so is the sangria.

I was extremely disappointed with the Tinto Tapas Restaurant in East Kilbride. We took my mother in law out for lunch on Mother’s Day hoping to have a nice Spanish meal. Me, being from Spanish descent, was excited to try flavours from my home country. Instead, none of the foods offered on the menu were Spanish. To say they were “Spanish-inspired” would have also been a stretch. I ordered mussels as the starter and pork loin as the main, with patatas bravas and roasted vegetables as my side. The mussels were noticeably not fresh, many having a white-ish colour and sticking to the shell. The garlic bread that came with the mussels was a thin slice of hard, toasted sliced white bread with some garlicky oil on it. They brought the mussels out about 10 minutes before the bread so our mussels had time to turn like warm….. lovely… The pork loin medallions were very thin and thus very very tough, the sauce was watery, and the mushrooms were cooked in that way that just makes them a bit slimy. The roasted vegetables were nice enough but cooked too long so they were all soft and mushy, no bite to them at all. The patatas bravas…. Well…. They were just chips, really. Just fried potatoes with salt as they did not have any sauce on they at all. When I tried to tell the waitress this as she brought the plates (thinking it had probably been a mistake) she just dismissed me saying there were more plates coming. Nope… our patatas bravas were never to be. The table beside us did get some potato chips with a puckish looking sauce on them which I can only assume was the “salsa brava”….. never have I seen salsa brava looking like that. The sangria we ordered was basically fruit juice. They didn’t even bother putting in the nice bits of fruit… just orange rind. What a disgrace. None of us went for dessert… not even a coffee. We were all just dying to get out of there. It was such a horrible experience, and really put a damper on Mother’s Day. Tinto Tapas Restaurant in East Kilbride is not only somewhere that I will never visits again, but I will also actively dissuade anyone who will listen from going to that unprofessional and overly priced venue.

To say we are regulars to Tinto is an understatement! We pretty much have a meal at least once a month and it is our favourite Eatery in East Kilbride. Unfortunately i never thought we would ever give a bad review, but here we are. We dropped in for Brunch and ordered 2 x Paprika Hand Cut Chips & a Spanish type Fry Up which has Chorizo Sausage instead of normal Sausage. Both plates of chips were overcooked, and were very translucent looking, which suggests to me, they were either reheated or were actually frozen chips, and neither of us finished them. The Fry Up was just as bad, the Chorizo Sausage was cold and seemed undercooked. The bread was toasted but was far to dry & crispy, and i would suggest you put some spread to soften it up. The grilled Tomato was cold and solid and was not grilled or fried for long enough imo! First time i had tried the fry up but wont be ordering again. I would still recommend Tintos if you want a different type of meal with the Tapas they offer, and i have had far more good experiences than this bad one. But if you go, id stay away from the fry up.

Came here on a Sunday mid afternoon, they kindly fitted us in without a reservation. Lovely decor and a warm welcome. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and was happy to suggest dishes we could try. We opted for the set 3 tapas for £15 (approx) each. Everything was fresh and hot when it arrived. The Fried wild seasonal mushrooms, garlic sherry cream & garlic croutons and the Tortilla were our favorites. Will definitely visit again when I am back in the area.

Love this place, great atmosphere, helpful staff and delicious food and if tou go on a Tuesday its even better as the specials mean you can try lots on the menu and not break the bank - heading there next week.

Best restaurant in East Kilbride. Best tapas ive been to in Glasgow or surrounding area. Staff very welcoming without hanging over you at tge same time. Great cosy atmosphere and with the decor and music you could be mistaken you where in spain itself. Toilets spotless also. Strawberry daiquiri superb. 3 tapas for £14.50 on a Saturday night i challange anyone to suggest anywhere with better value for money. Only bad point is i dont live local and was only visiting the area so i wont be able to visit as much as i would like to. 10/10 👍

First time here. Family of four. Had a selection of various tapas dishes and got a chance to sample a good chunk of the menu between us. Everything was really tasty and great value when you go for the three-tapas-dish deal. Service was prompt and friendly as well. Really could not fault it. Would definitely come back but have two very minor criticisms: 1. We sat near a window and it was pretty cold. The toilets were roasting so obviously the heating was on, but we felt a bit chilly where we were sat. 2. Could be doing with dimming the lighting a bit for a better atmosphere. Overall though a great experience and really good value.

The food was so tasty as always, however we won't be back as the service was atrocious - right down to the waitress not understanding allergies - despite us checking when we booked, and as we ordered - we still received items that we couldn't eat and in this day and age there's no excuse, it could've ruined the whole festive period !

Service was terrible. Over 1jr to get starters then one forgotten. Tapas serves to party at different times. One member waited over 1hr 30mins for meal. We asked to cancel and leave £66 for tapas and 2 drinks and food that was not great. Have been several times before and never had this standard off food or service. Dreadful.

Very disappointed in our latest visit today, called ahead and wasn't busy so we're able to go down straight away. Arrived just after 4pm, table for 4, ordered drinks n they all came aside from water for 1 of us..which we had to ask for when it still hadn't arrived a gd 15 mins in. Ordered from festive menu and ala carte.. 2 out of 3 starters were brought out, we had to ask for the 3rd which obviously hadn't been made, mistakes happen so we waited and it came within 5 minutes. Main courses was a complete shambles.. 9 tapas plates were ordered and a meat platter.. not only did we wait at least 40 minutes for food to begin to arrive but it was brought out in partial orders! Some of them were luke warm also, other lovely but 3 of us were eating at different times and the kicker was 1 person didn't eat at all as we left, tired of waiting, after 1 hr 20 mins, their food having never been served. I don't know what happened but food not being served together defeats the purpose of a meal together. Really disappointed and left a sour note of our evening out for Panto.

Tintos is fantastic. You will wait slightly longer for food than other places but this is because they have to make like 12 different dishes for you which are always fantastic.

The food in this place was absolutely incredible...really, really high quality stuff, beautifully presented. We all had three different main dishes and two desserts each. Honestly, there are so many wonderful sounding dishes you'll have trouble choosing but every single one we tried resulted in totally clean plates. I can't wait to go back here.

Went on a Monday night so it was pretty quiet. We didn't catch the waiter's name, but he was so friendly and helpful. He really made us feel welcome and was able to help us navigate through the tapas menu. We stuck to the vegetarian tapas and 4 between the 2 of us was fine. The food was excellent. Very authentic and great value. We'll definitely return.

Love going here everything about Tinto is lovely and a relaxing place to eat food is delicious we've been a few times now and would reccomend it to anyone

On vacation from Canada and this tapas bar was the best meal of our entire vacation. Highly recommend.

Myself and my husband have been visiting this establishment for many many years. But I must say it is one of our favourite places to go to when we come to East Kilbride. All the staff are very knowledgeable, very polite and what a great laugh we have. Josh, the owner is amazing. The food thats produced is great value for money, and what a variety to choose from! It’s almost like being in a Tapas bar in Barcelona. Thank you, Josh and your team. You never fail to amaze us. See you soon next time we are in East Kilbride.

Here on business with a colleague and we’re recommended this for dinner. Has it was a Tuesday majority of tapas dishes were only £2.50 each. Although they were busy and we hadn’t booked they found us a table and promised food would be delivered quickly as table was needed. Well they did not disappoint food arrived promptly and was delicious, and a bargain due to the deal. Service was also exceptional. Would revisit and recommend but advisable to book. Churros which we had to take away were worth a mention, define and chocolate sauce was amazing.

Lovely atmosphere inside and great sangria with friendly staff, but overall food was average - patatas weren’t seasoned and calamari wasn’t very fresh. More fresh ingredients needed in all the dishes

Had booked movie Oppenheimer in East Kilbride for 8pm. Booked a table for 4 for 6.15pm. We arrived a bit earlier at around 6.05pm. This was my first experience of Tapas anywhere. Ordered food and took the advice of some of the others. By 7.05pm our soft drinks were drunk and we still hadn't received our order. It's not as though the place was particularly busy. I complained to who I assumed was the owner and was given an apology. Soon after that, the food arrived. My friend and I had ordered what I think was sea bass - if he got the daddy sea bass, then I got the baby. Not the best start. We got 2 free battered chicken goujon-type items for free, presumably to make up for the late service. My companions felt that the Uddingston branch was far better, and said some items were over-cooked. I wouldn't know, never having been before. As I said, this was my first experience of Tapas. I have a feeling it will be my last. We made it in time for the movie. Just.

I wish to preface this review by stating that I currently work in the hospitality industry and have done so for many years - due to this I am sympathetic to servers as I understand precisely how challenging this industry is - particularly if there is short-staffing or other challenging circumstances. I do acknowledge as well that there was only one server and this does create understandable delays and set-backs with service. With this being acknowledged I witnessed poor task prioritisation tonight by the server and this led to a glass and spillage hazard beside two tables (one of which had a young child) being blatantly ignored. A child had accidentally dropped a glass filled with liquid on the way to the toilet and the server immediately seen that this happened. At this point, and I say this as someone with experience, tasks such as making cocktails, cleaning vacant tables and singing happy birthday to a customer are NOT a priority. The main priority is safely and effectively cleaning up the spillage and removing the glass debris in a timely manner. The father of the child had to go down on his knees to pick up the glass and could have easily injured himself and even after saying to the server about the spillage the spillage was not prioritised - in fact the glass was still broken sitting on the table where the father had placed it even by the time the family had went up to the counter to pay and leave. I cannot emphasis enough how irresponsible it was of the server to not prioritise the safety of customers. I am all for giving hospitality workers the benefit of the doubt it is a difficult industry and it can be challenging to manage various competing priorities at once - but this blatant ignorance to hazard safety is dangerous and problematic and should be addressed. With all respect, please take this matter seriously and learn from it. Food safety and customers safety is of the upmost importance. Also, food was really late and not very warm so that added to the whole bad experience. In addition food was delivered by the chef who seemed confused and struggled to find the tables - he also seemed frustrated at the server. Honestly, it has put me off going back.

Closest to Spanish food you can get here. Very good and friendly service. Came again to this restaurant and I can confirm that it is still excellent. The waiter is Spanish too!

Been here a few times but have to say this time was my favourite. Food was fab, as usual, but the difference this time was the absolutely fantastic service by server Mark. He was by himself yet still managed to give us a great experience. Wished us a happy anniversary on arrival (which we put in our booking comments) which made the experience great from the get go due to the attention to detail. Lovely night!

Went on Tuesday evening with my daughters. We had three tapas each and all had different things, and thoroughly enjoyed each of them. Menu is extensive, with so many delicious options, it makes it difficult to choose. My daughters had two cocktails, one in the restraunt and one in the bar, which they both loved. These were proper cocktails. What I wasn't expecting was how cheap it was as I wasn't aware we were there on an evening they do a deal. Could not believe what we got for our money. I would have been happy to pay full price, so this was very much appreciated.

Definitely worth the travel out to EK this a little gem 💎 Tapas is amazing 🤩 and very reasonably priced they also do a taster Tuesday with selected tapas At £2.75 we will be back again very good service and very good food AMAZING 🤩

Great atmosphere, great drinks, good prices for what you get would highly recommend

The food was mediocre at best and there was no soap in the ladies toilets, which we were told would be sorted but wasn’t. There are many other restaurants in the area with a much higher standard of food. I won’t waste my money here again. On a positive note the staff were very friendly.

Absolutely the best restaurant in The Village. We love visiting Tinto any time we can. It's perfect for family, friends, a date or just a, "lets not cook" night. I've been through most of the dishes at this point and they are all excellent. I've never been even slightly disappointed with an evening here. Service is attentive without being intrusive or pushy and the prices are very reasonable. Recommended

Visited with my partner and her cousin on day 1 of our holiday and tried loads of different tapas and some wine! Very impressed with the variety, flavour combinations and staff! Highly recommend for anyone visiting East Kilbride

Been here numerous times before, and it just continues to get better. The food is always fresh, delicious and there is a varied selection. Waiting staff are attentive, friendly and can’t do enough for you. I would highly recommend for any special occasion or even for a casual meal. ps all their tapas are 2.50 on a Tuesday... your welcome.

My wife and I enjoyed a lovely meal together on Saturday night. The place has a relaxed atmosphere and a quirky layout with great informal style service. We both enjoyed our tapas and wine and will definitely return. Price was just right.

Great wee place. Resto upstairs provides brilliant food and a fun welcoming experience from staff! Happy to have came here with mates. The bar downstairs provides entertainment at the weekend, bar staff served us quickly & had a laugh with us at the bar. Would 100% eat & drink here again. Brilliant.

Great atmosphere. Great music. Best office in EK. Reb bands are a great addition to the once already great tinto's bar. Can cause an absolute breach out the back with as many snout as you want and sit care free while downing the finest Venom...

Tintos hosted a rebel irish band today which sing about things like the IRA i am affronted as a regular customer of tintos but will never be back now.

Food was good. service reasonable - in view of the variety of dishes ordered. Waiter was not pleased at our asking for a better table. The restaurant was almost empty but he wanted to sit us immediately next to the only other occupied table, with very little space between us. There was a larger round table but he would not allocat that. Instead we were given a side table. the round table was never used while we were there.

Unfortunately I have to disagree with the positive comments that have been given, as the experience that I had was completely different . Yesterday I decided to treat my sister to lunch at Tintos for her birthday. A decision that was later regretted.
