Sangria in South Lanarkshire

Had a fabulous night, the staff are amazing, the tapas is to die for, never mind the cheesecake! Great Sangria and Spanish beer too! Definitely be back soon!

Got a voucher via itison as a Christmas present. Used it today and wished we hadn’t bothered. Food was mediocre and the salt cod in particular was tasteless and grey. Other than one member of staff (young girl with long black ponytail) the rest were monosyllabic and appeared utterly disinterested. Was it because we were using a voucher? No atmosphere whatsoever and the table would have benefitted from a good scrub (sticky in many places). Will not be returning.

Absolutely superb from food to service. Very wide-ranging selection of dishes and the 6 tapas dishes we chose, were delicious . Staff very friendly and helpful. Will def be back

We went for the tapas Tuesday. We got four dishes each and I can only describe it like a party in my mouth. It was delicious and the girls were lovely. Even have some glasses to read the menu as I forgot mine. Will def be back

Lovely food great service nice atmosphere

We were gifted an itison voucher for Xmas for Sangria in Hamilton. We are always a bit dubious re vouchers that we get a lesser menu and choice but not in sangria. Cheese and meat platter to start with olives. All lovely and I don’t usually like the cured meats etc. the any 5 tapes from first 2 pages. We opted for chicken paella, gambas pil pil, garlic mushrooms, grilled goats cheese and chicken with Serrano ham in white wine sauce. Everything was absolutely delicious so tasty and most of all piping hot! The portions were also plenty between two. We ordered more bread so we could enjoy the delicious sauces. The house red wine was also lovely. Then for dessert again choice from the menu. Opted for strawberry cheesecake and Creme Catalan. Again beautiful having a place in Spain we know what authentic Spanish food is like and this was right up there! The cheesecake and the base was the best we have had in a while. Place was busy but service was great, quick and with a wee break in between each. We will definitely be back and recommending to others. Possibly be back to try a full paella as that was up there with the best outside of Spain we have tasted.

Decided to try this place out with an itison deal, based on based on feedback from friends. We were not disappointed! Lovely staff - honestly couldn't have done more for us - and fab selection of tapas dishes, all of then so tasty. We will definitely be back!

Waited hours for this burnt food. Part of the order was missing, however the absence of more burnt food that cost £48 was the least of our disappointment. One star is too forgiving.

Visited using a voucher, friendly welcome from waitress. Once sat the table was sticky and seemed dirty. Our bread/meat sharing platter was nice to start. We ordered 7 tapas and the quality of food was very disappointing. The sliders meat was a poor quality hamburger cut to fit the small stale bun. Greasy food and calamari was the poorest I have ever had. Also ordered the lasagne which was just mush. We ate only a small amount and fed back to the waitress who said she would go and speak to the chef but never came back with their feedback. I ordered churros for dessert which were nice. Overall very disappointing and won’t be returning.

Brilliant! Went here for lunch mid week. We ordered 9 dishes. All were outstanding. Blown away by the excellent service, tasty dishes, fresh food, great portion sizes, interesting ingredients and plenty of vegetable with each dish. Highly recommended.

We have been here before and it never disappoints. We went for the lunch deal which is 3 Tapas for £10. This is a great deal and the 6 Tapas plus bread filled both of us up. All dishes were excellent and the beer and wine is top notch. Staff are friendly and helpful. Definitely coming back

Had the Groupon deal for the 2nd time because the 1st time we went was awesome. Lovely staff and the food was outstanding. From the platter starter to the main tapas, every bit was flavoursome and cooked to perfection. Going back tonite for my birthday😉😀

What a lovely warm welcome my friend and I got on arrival. We were promptly taken to our table and the deal explained to us. Ordered arrived quickly and all food was very tasty and portions sizes excellent. The atmosphere was light and friendly the staff were so helpful, my friend and I go as often as we can now, due to the continuing good experiences we have there. Thank you for your delicious food and being so kind and helpful and friendly to us when we visit.

Visited this lovely restaurant on Tuesday lunchtime with a friend. Tapas at amazing price of £2.95 each. Really big portions and absolutely delicious. Congratulations to the chef, and not to forget the very pleasant and efficient lady who served us. This is now officially my favourite Tapas restaurant!

Bought a 5pm deal ..for the third time !! Food was delicious .One waitress recommended the courgette fritters..they where lovely .Highly recommend .

This place is just amazing! The food is really something else with so many choices. Great sized portions also and the staff always very friendly. The female staff member ( who is always on shift when we go in 🫣) is excellent and nomatter how busy things get seems to manage everything with ease. In general the food and staff are amazing! A must try if you love REALLY good tapas. Prices are also fantastic value and quality is top class.

Food was good,the place is a bit dreary

Opted for 6 tapas dishes. We ordered the breaded mushrooms, but the creamy ones came out instead and the patatas chilli were just frozen, cooked chips with the skins on, served in a bowl with chilli's. We were a bit surprised about that, as we had previously enjoyed patatas bravas on our last visit. We ate everything though. The staff were nice enough. I wouldn't say there was much of an atmosphere , but the restaurant is quaint.

Came across this place 5 years ago while passing through Hamilton and it was absolutely amazing. Went down as the best tapas bar we've ever had. Was in Edinburgh this weekend and made a detour to call in again. Did not disapoint. Delicious food, freshly cooked and very reasonably priced pleasant staff. Can't recommend it enough.

Great food, very generous portions for tapas dishes. Tuesday night is and should be very popular since each tapas dish is only £2.95. Very good restaurant, if you like Tinto or Cafe Valencia, then you'll much prefer here! We had a Groupon/wowcher or similar (I'm not sure of the cost but very affordable) which came with a meat, cheese and olive platter as well as 3 lots of patatas bravas - which we couldn't even finish as there was so much - as well as 15 incredible portions of tapas and a litre of sangria. Best dishes to look out for would be 'patatas y queso' - cheesy potatoes, 'albondigas' - meatballs in passata, and the prawns are incredible. Well recommended, try it on a Tuesday and you'll find yourself there any other night of the week.

Once again food was great here, we love to come here for Tapas. But this time we were very disappointed with the service. The waitress was grumpy, couldn’t make eye contact and we waited nearly half an hour to even place an order even though she wasn’t busy at all. We were served our dishes by another lovely young waiter then, but one dish was wrong, we didn’t order the meetballs. So he tool them back to the kitchen, after which she stormed to our table and said inappropriately unfriendly “ so you didn’t order the meetballs??” as if we had committed a crime. This was maybe the worst service we had ever experienced, usually the place is very friendly and welcoming. This time the restaurant manager wasn’t there, so sadly without his presence this waitress clearly didn’t care. ☹️

Excellent choice. Food lovely. Restaurant has a good ambience and decor. House wine was excellent. Only issue is the toilets. The floor is broken and sagging. Nearly fell, good also do with a makeover. We had a group on deal- brilliant value for money

We are still absolutely stunned, the food here was unbelievably good, AND authentically Spanish! We had Tapas in so many places, they were all rubbish compared to this place. Plus the waitress was so friendly, everything was really perfect. This really is a hidden gem!

Been here a few times with the wife and in-laws. Have to say, faultless food. The tastiest tapas about. Every single dish was packed with flavour. Can't even pick a favourite as they were all fantastic. Don't ever change. This wee place is a gem.

We visited 2 years ago and the food was OK. The restaurant looks spanish but the food is not. Its a kind of fusion restaurant as the owner is not spanish. Service was good. Dishes were too big to be tapas.

Sangria 19 is a really excellent wee restaurant. We've been 4 times now and the food has been great every time. It's always a little different each time and this makes it feel comfortingly home cooked. The service is great and the staff really helpful and friendly. When things go wrong (there was a faulty beer keg problem on our last visit) they just deal with it, let you know what's going on and get on with it. It's quickly becoming one of our favourite places. Update, we've been back and took a friend. Now he and his folks are also fans. Still one of our favourite places.

Visited Sangria on a Friday evening with the family. The food was not great in our opinion. Everything needed a little seasoning, which I guess could be to some people's taste as you can add a little as you go. All the dishes came out roasting hot, which indicated to me that they are cooked in the same dish, which is always a red flag to me. It means they are prepped in these ahead of time and then just heated up and therefore not very fresh. Everything was very very oily. I know it's Mediterranean food but this was taking the biscuit. A couple of us in our c ok company felt very bloated following the meal. The patatas Bravas where overcooked deep fried and unseasoned potatoes with a seperate cold tomato dip and no aioli or even simple mayo??? So disappointing. There was one person serving the food the whole restaurant using a fish slice to hand roasting hot dishes over the table to people? There was around 5 staff just doing drinks orders and showing people to their tables which resulted in us getting asked if we needed more drinks around 8 times throughout the meal as they obviously didn't communicate. Despite this they also got our initial drinks order wrong. The decor and vibe is fairly nice as it's got a low ceiling with browned wood and it creates a cosy feeling. However, they do have some curious looking decor hanging between the tables which are designed to add seperation but just look weird. They look like 3 plastic tiles that are secured together with cable ties and really look out of place in my opinion. Maybe others may like them.

Disappointing to see how one of our favourite restaurants in Hamilton has declined over the past year or two. The food used to be incredible in here and was always extremely good value for money but now it just isn't the same.

Noticed a definite change in the quality of food. Chicken was extremely dry and tasteless, mussels still had the beards. Not what you would expect from an established restaurant.

Nice atmosphere for a good meal and nice drinks with friends.

Have been to this restaurant on a few occasions however today was poor when the owner is about service and food is good however when he is not there food and service is pathetic we were served burnt food and when I complained was totally ignored by the waitress serving us needs either new staff or a bit more training on customer service when owner not there. I would love to go back but my husband says No way

Delishous food!! Been here a couple of times now. 1st went for my birthday dinner last year & they were running tapas for £2.50 deal on all dishes on a Tuesday. The food was so so tasty! The service was amazing, and improvised well when we forgot to give candles for the cake. From having authentic Spanish tapas, this is the best I've tried out with Spain. Amazing value for money. Will be back again (and again :) ).

Visited on Saturday for the 2nd time and was every bit satisfied as the first, we had too much to eat as we were tempted by every dish but settled on NINE tapas, 2 drinks each and all for £42, if you are in the area then don't miss on this little gem.

Hadn’t heard of this restaurant before but we were given a voucher for it so gave it a try. We ordered a mix of tapas (bread, salad, croquettes, chicken, prawns, paella & cheese). Thoroughly enjoyed it all and would not hesitate to go back.

This is a nice cosy Tapas restaurant. The staff are friendly and helpful and all of the food is cooked fresh. Most of the food was tasty but some was way too salty. The food is not bad value although some of the dishes are tiny.

Tuesday wrong night for a quiet meal. 4 x tapas at £2:50 each. Pre booked table not ready and over an hour wait for the tapas. Not a great experience and wrong tapas delivered. Waitress was very helpful and apologetic but at the end of the day it is difficult to recommend. Food was OK but not exceptional.

This is a must if you're in Hamilton. 3 of us went for a tapas afternoon. Opted for the special 4 small plates for £16.95 value for money. One of the party was vegetarian and was amazed with the choice and quality. My daughter never had tapas before but Thouroughly enjoyed it. Myself opted for Salt Cod Fries with choritso and duck egg. Braised lamb Spanish black pudding. Washed down with some refreshing cold Spanish beers. Brilliant service nice atmosphere good fair price. Get yourself there you won't regret it
