Tintico in Barnet

Stopped by for a quick latte late morning. Nice welcoming atmosphere. Lots of other people were there like me typing away at their laptops. Overall good ambience and experience. It makes a nice change to finchley to not always have the same chain coffee shops.

Lucky East Finchleyers who can stop by every day. Perfectly made coffee, a very nice shop, beans from independent farmers, support to an organisation bringing clean water to growers' communities. A must when in the area.

... so we won't be coming again. Came here for breakfast/brunch, the server did not smile nor show any form of friendliness. He actively scoffed at me when I changed my order before paying. The food was quite nice but wasn't served with all the trimmings that were on the menu. The toilets looked like they needed a good clean. We still said thank you as we were leaving and were just plain ignored. It wasn't even busy. It's just not very nice to visit a place where you are made to feel like you don't fit in.

Excellent breakfast place, over the road from the Travelodge we were staying in. The staff were friendly, the food tasted amazing and presentation incredible. We will definitely visit again.

Tintico is a fantastic cafe in Finchley Central with many, many positive elements to it, about from one thing - the toilet (more on that later). Tintico Finchley Central has awesome coffee (arguably the best in London); the food is delicious; great selection of cakes; the cafe has lots of seating; it is really light and airy with big wide windows; and the service is quick and friendly. This is why it is such a great shame that the toilet is such a disgrace. The toilet is dirty, has crumbling paint work (colour is way too dark) and the baby changing platform is filthy. So to change Tintico from an average/ bog standard cafe to a great one - all the owner needs to do is the following. Invest a small amount of money to tile the entire bathroom in big wide white tiles (dark grey grouting) from ceiling to floor and then put much lighter grey tiles on the floor. I would also suggest de cluttering the entire room and putting in a new baby changing platform with a dirty beige cloth. The outside of the white door to the toilet is also filthy and looks awful - so suggest painting it a light grey colour so it doesn’t show every hand/ finger mark over recent years. I want Tintinco to do well so I would happily delete this post once a bit of money has been spent on that toilet. For 21st century toilets check out Bluebelles across the road. Until the toilet is modernised at Tintico I will not return . Suspect other customers particularly those with kids feel the same.

I found Tintico quite by chance. I needed a coffee and a small something to eat before I visited my next customer with an electric car that I was due to demonstrate. From the outside it looked inviting, so I quickly found a space to park and walked in. It’s small but bright and felt fresh, I had a short wait to be served, but as this would usually put me off, I found I didn’t mind and also had the time. I’m glad my patience brain was in charge, because I had a nice seat and enjoyed a great coffee with sourdough toast and honey. It was perfect and nicely presented too. The cost didn’t hurt either! Which was a nice surprise. Well done Tintico, you have very nice staff too.

A perfect start to the day. Eggs Benedict and a double espresso in this sleek open plan cafe before a foray into Barnet Family Court for the start of a 2-day case.

Food and coffee always very nice. Never met a more miserable bunch of staff in my life. Love the lunch and coffee but try and smile staff members.

I visited Tintico for breakfast and ordered black americano and egg royale with no sauce. The coffee I have been given was lukewarm and extremely sour with orange crème on top, which tasted bitter. I pointed this out to the barista that made it and he was trying to tell me this is the normal crème, but after told me that in fact the water heater in the machine has been playing up and replaced my coffee. The next one he brought surprisingly had no orange foam and was at acceptable temperature. The coffee taste and strength overall was not enjoyable, not sure if it’s due to bad coffee or being brewed incorrectly. The poached eggs were definitely overcooked. To top it all off I ordered a cappuccino to go for my sister and received a cup the size of double espresso and was so light when I looked inside the actual coffee was hardly at 50% and the rest was just foam. I paid £3.20 for that coffee, an absolute joke. Probably the only positive aspect of that visit was the handsome tall blonde man behind the counter, which I can only guess is the owner. Really disappointing visit, definitely not coming back, especially not for a coffee. ;-D

Will never return. Rude, miserable staff and inconsistent coffee, served by 3 people that think they're too cool for school. They never smile, they never engage in conversation. They have zero understanding and respect for hospitality. They don't appreciate they have a job. Just awful.

My good friend used to work as a barista here. This place serves high quality Espresso Coffee. I also enjoy their Mocha and Cappuccino as well.

I came in here for food a few weeks ago but before I ordered the server told me the wait would be 40 minutes which I didn't have so I went elsewhere. Today I gave it a go for coffee and my flat white was very well made. I had to wait a while though as the girl behind the counter seemed to be doing everything herself and could have done with some assistance. Also rather than bringing your coffee to your table the lady called out 'flat white: which could cause confusion if several customers were waiting for the same order.
