Vero Caffe in Barnet

Used to go every day upto covid. It was very good, but I have not been since. But when I pass by its always busy.

Great food - so hard to choose, you just want to order everything on the menu! They do breakfast all day as well. One thing I did find a little odd was instead of the usual clearing up the plates at the end once everyone has finished eating, the servers/waitresses would clear up individual plates as soon as you had stopped eating. The only other places I’ve ever experienced this have been in the US. Not really a negative, but just a bit strange and a little disruptive. The only real negative was the front door kept getting left open, making the whole of the inside of the cafe very draughty and cold. It was very busy, so there was a bit of a wait, and no room to wait inside so we had to stand outside in the cold. It was also very noisy inside, but I will definitely be back though due to the fantastic food!

Although the food and service are still excellent there was a tension in the air and hovering waitresses. In the past there was a bustling vitality behind the serving counter. Price was top end for a salmon bagel and tea and mocha and Panini at £21. I know prices are going up but still! Also they have erected a pop up tent outside with sides which obscured the view. Although it was raining, it's also February! So who sits outside?

Really nice food with a great outdoor seating area. In inclement weather they have covers over the outside area as well so is all year. Recommended

I've always loved this place, apart from the service, which is weirdly OTT. They don't leave you for more than a few moments before sweeping in. Different staff members bother you every 2 minutes, literally. But the food's always been nice, and we've always laughed at that. But this week I ordered a caesar salad and it arrived without caesar sauce, which came separately in a Sainsbury's bottle! I've moved my next meeting to Michael's opposite, which is far nicer.

Charged £4.50 for a takeaway iced americano is extortionate.. can't help but think they pluck numbers out of thin air. Disgusting

We ordered breakfast, poached eggs were made in a silicone mould, and 5 tiny pieces of mushroom were an extra £2.50. Not impressed on quality or value but service was quick.

Came here on a Tuesday morning with my baby and met two other Mums with their small baby/toddler. I got the impression that we were not welcome as I asked where I should sit as we would be 3 with baby buggies. They directed me to a table but as soon as the other Mums arrived they made a fuss about there not being room for the buggies and actually made one of the mums leave the buggy outside saying they would soon fill up. Again, this was a weekday morning and not even at lunchtime. It just was not a pleasant atmosphere for Mums with babies. Also the wait staff just weren't friendly, they did not smile or anything when they served us. The food and drink was ok, nothing special just typical cafe food, but I read not a pleasant atmosphere with a baby so I don't think I'll be back any time soon. Keep in mind if thinking of coming here with small children.

Unfortunately, today we had another bad experience from this coffee shop. The food was off. The staff didn’t respond professionally. The owner was not respectful. My family and I will not go to this place as it seems this is their attitude not a one off experience!

I had a bad experience at this cafe today. A waitress accidentally spilled a whole cup of coffee on me. I didn’t get mad at her because I used to be a waiter myself and I understood how she felt. However, I was disappointed by the lack of apology from the owner or the manager of the cafe. They only asked me once if I was okay and they didn’t offer any assistance to clean my pants. I think they could have been more courteous and sincere in expressing their regret, and also helped me to clean my pants.

I had so many times a sandwich with chicken, but it was a sintetic chicken. When I eat, I fill all the elastic meat. This is inaccetabile. I feel very bad. 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎 be careful people all food Industry is. F.u.c.k.t

brilliant food chicken is halal which is a bonus i highly recommend the ice latte its more like a coffee milkshake smooth not too bitter. portions are big and filling

I used to love coming here regularly to meet my friends however the customer service has really deteriorated in recent months. The tall gentleman is very welcoming as are a couple members of staff. However the owner is downright rude, never smiles and does not seem to care about the customers. The coffee and the food are great but we just don’t feel welcomed anymore and have all started coming less regularly. We are locals . It is a great shame because Veros used to be such a great place to come too and have spent a lot of money there in the past …..

This is great place to meet friends for lunch or a coffee. Parking is easy and good food and service make Vero well worth visiting. The staff are friendly and welcoming. You can find me here three or four times a week. 10 out of 10

Next to a park, good place for a break.

We ate Alfresco- very noisy cars honking horns. Food fell way short of expectations and the prices are way high. Ordered Eggs benedict on a brioche - the eggs were hard, not soft and runny and the hollandaise sauce was sweet, it didn't make sense and tasted horrible. My husband got a dry egg sandwich with double meat- had no flavor. The orange juice was freshly squeezed and the clear winner.

I have been meaning to visit here for a while now and finally got the opportunity yesterday. I was so impressed by the range of the food and was offered to try any I wanted to. In the end I decided on eating eggs Benedic alongside the pasta was too tasty to be for which was a wonderful combination easily the best coffee in the area, and at an affordable price. I will be back!

I went for breakfast at around 8.30. The food was okay but the service was indifferent. The waitress just seemed as though she didn't want to be there and couldn't be bothered. I've heard so much about this place and I do want to like it. I will go back and try again.

Lovely place for brunch particularly in a sunny day. It was nice of them to accommodate customers’ preferences. I ordered English breakfast and asked to swap backed beans with mushroom which they happily did. Cumberland sausage was ok. Overall a decent breakfast . My friend also had salmon with scrambled eggs. Salmon was fresh and tasty and the sour dough bread was toasted nicely. We also had strawberry sunshine which was very fresh and delicious.

Had a nice breakfast, attentive but a little quick in taking plates away, I was still eating when my plate got whisked away, please just slow down a little, Good selection on menu, inside and outside seating, nice place

Very rude owner who doesn't like mums and buggies. Went in with my baby in the buggy and even though there were a lot of free tables at 3.30pm he wanted to give me one in the corner where I couldn't sit next to the buggy to see my baby. He said they were busy. Then opened the door to see me go. I asked if he was the owner and he shouted YES THANK YOU! Shame as I thought the owner would be an example of good customer service. Never going back to this place

Really great cafe that is popular with locals. The staff are very nice and very attentive and the food is decent value for money. The cafe has outside seating in summer.

Only 3 stars because they are always in a hurry to close for the day @ 4pm. Wanted to sit and chat longer but they clean the tables and put the chairs on top of the tables making us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome.

A pleasant place with a half decent coffee

The best coffee in the area! Balanced and sweet. No usual charcoal roasted nonsense. I also enjoyed their burger.

Decent place for breakfast, not amazing but normal good food, on a pricey side for what it is. You can visit with the dog and friendly enough staff. Locals visit often.

Their pancakes must be store bought and heated up on the plate! Utterly disgusting taste on their own which is probably why they were delivered on a bed of sticky chocolate sauce (the cheap kind that you get on top of ice cream sometimes) which we did not ask for and which they did not tell us it came with. I was then treated with disgust by the staff that stated "that's how we serve it". Seriously. £14 for pancakes I wouldn't dare serve a house guest let alone a paying customer. I'm at a loss as to why it appears a popular spot when the food and service is so lacking.

A nice cafe to go to when you are out with friends or family. It is unfortunate that it is located right beside a busy crossroad but it is far enough away from the road as to not be breathing in fumes. I personally had the tuna ciabatta and a cappuccino. Both were made very well and tasted just as good as it looked. I definitely recommend this place for a lunch meet up or just a bite to eat if in the area

Well, prices matched for the area -- bigger than on city center :). However, good coffee and breakfast. But the waitresses, oh my (except the nice guy and only a new girl, which are very friendly). Dress accordingly, be more nice and clean!, Don't wait all the time for a tip, you will get it when you are behaving nice with the clients...

Rude arigant staff & owners. Very poor quality food. Politely explained dissatisfaction to owners who shouted loudly that they dint care. Says it all. Too many good alternatives in the area to tolerate that.

Four of us plus a baby in a buggy came for brunch. Waited to be seated outside. Ignored by the owner/manager whilst waiting for a table. Eventually a waitress acknowledged us. Requested to put small tables to be pushed together as we intended to have a full brunch as there is insufficient space on a small table for four. She would not accommodate this so we went across the road to Michaels, who happily gave excellent customer service. I’m so pleased you can afford to turn down £80 plus tips.

He’s very temperamental and very angry. I don’t understand how he thinks it’s okay to teeat people like that. Awful awful awful… only go here if u want to have your day stained..

This is a lovely little cafe with a good variety of fresh-cooked food. The owner is very friendly and welcoming.

Had brunch with some friends and our baby boys. Unfortunately there are no baby changing facilities so we had nowhere we could clean up our babies after their meal or change nappies. Food was good, but they did get some of our order wrong which had to be sent back, but when the food was brought back out it was cold. Also, I felt we were rushed when ordering as the restaurant seems more interested in turning over the table than entertaining the guests they currently have.

Went here while walking, party of 3. What a gem, wonderful food and excellent friendly service. Tables are packed in inside would be my only gripe but would definitely return when next passing.

Vero Caffè is a cool secluded place with excellent staff approach and service. I love my morning latte and my sausage sandwich any time I visit. 👌

I tried to send my food back as the portion was so small but the manager was having absolutely none of it. If he had sent a side or apologised it would have made a real difference. The cafe has nice outdoor and indoor seating but I won’t rush back.

Very poor ,average hot chocolate dried up old Danish ,ordered 2 slices of toast with butter and marmalade got 1 slice marmalade no butter and 1 dry toast with neither Over priced and avoid

I meet friends or family here at least 3 times a week. Great for breakfast or lunch or just a coffee. The salads are well presented, the burgers are tasty and the homemade soups are delicious. Great atmosphere and it has breathed life into the area!

Cafeteria allergic and discriminatory to babies! Very rude manager who literally asked us to leave and put the bill on our table because we had two toddlers and I quote him word by word "you are KILLING me two tables with the buggies" The cafeteria was half empty and there was no justification to his appalling behaviours. Parents you have been warned!

I used to love this place, but recently each time I visit the waitresses are too busy. I ordered two egg royal and the eggs were fully boiled and solid inside. I attempted to tell the waitress, but she looked at me in disgust and proceeded to bite my head off telling me that is how poached egg is made here 🤬. Also got over charged but didn't realise until after. Not going back to spend over £50 a week on breakfast, however locals have no choice so they will keep making money on full English and basic latte coffee.

Very rude the manager in charge for the 12/09/2021 and very aggressive. He had a bad behaviour and aggressive way of speaking and behave with us ( 2 women and a kid) and in the moment that we want to complain about him he call the police lied that we treated him
