Tingley Bar Fisheries in Leeds

The newly opened shop has very friendly staff, well cooked food in a nice clean environment. The special fish and chips was probably enough for 2 👌

My partner is from Morley originally, so we always go to Tingley Bar whenever we go to visit her family. We always get fish butty's as they're amazing! If you're passing by, don't pass up the chance to eat from here!

Fish cooked fresh upon order, chips were great thos last time too.

Good fish and chips only open a few days a week. Fish was amongst the best I've tasted. Pleasant ladies serving and cooking

Over priced, shocking portions. A regular portion of chips was no more than a handful so I dread to think what a small is. £8 for a fish sandwich and a portion of chips, never again!

The peas and sausage we're nice but the chips could do with a extra minute to add colour.

I had a particular request to obtain a decent number of fishcakes which were to be delivered by myself to the north of Scotland. Tingley Bar Fisheries accommodated my request perfectly and had everything prepared and packed for me when I came to pick them up. They were well received up North. Great food and great service.

3 people in shop so waited outside for 5 minutes and gave up. Went to mermaid. They should have asked people waiting inside to wait outside.

Only been a couple of times but nice fish and chips.

Paid 4.20 for two regulars and this is what I receive......... Absolutely shocking portion size!!!! Never going back here again.

The fish was good, but the batter was very heavy & the fish cake was hard as a rock, mushy peas were average. 3⭐

I had a fish butty here the other day and it was very nice. Thick flaky white fish and nice batter.

New management, can't vouch for everyone's taste, but I thought it was really lovely. Fish & chips. Give it a whirl guys. They have a selection of cold sandwiches. Go take a look and glance at the different menus. Polite ladies serving.

The baked Potato was still rock hard in the middle, the chicken wrap was exactly what we asked for a chicken wrap, 3 pieces of chicken with a wrap put around it, no salad or sauce. I asked for fish and chips with scraps and salt and vinegar and the assistant was too busy chatting to notice she hadnt put it on even though she asked me twice. I'm not sure what potatoes they use but the chips are "chewy" I've visited 3 times since they've opened, I was a regular at the last one but I'm sorry to say it doesn't even scratch the surface of the old Tingley bar and for that reason my 3rd visit was my last. RIP Tingley Bar. Just one last point too, it's not good when the staff are all stood outside their establishment smoking in full view of passing customers, and it stinks when they come back into shop to take your order.

Potentially the best batter on any fish I've ever had. Beautiful colour and crispy from tip to tail, at no point did it go soggy while I savoured every mouthful instead of furiously shovelling it in like a little piggy. The curry sauce is a delectable work of art which left me searching for more things to dip in it; fish, chips, scallop, a slice of bread, my fingers. The chips were.... fine 🤷🏻‍♂️. The only drawback was the scallop which had the girth of three stacked up on one another and might as well have been a whole potato, peeled and fried.

Still the best fish and chips in Morley for me. Used to work here back in the 90's, yes I'm old. But still my favourite. Not sure of the opening times, I keep trying to find out. Maybe if someone does find out. Please update the main page.

Only had take away but eaten straight away the chips are always greasy and bland. EDIT: It has been a while since i wrote this review and the place has changed so i decided to call in for some chips. Place was empty. I mean empty, no staff. Didn't get to try so rating stands for now.

Under new people. The fish and chips were great. Good to see a good local shop again. I will definitely be alocal customer again after a long time away.

It's been over 20 years since I last went to this fish shop and vowed to never go again. However the new look under the new management made me give it a go and so glad I did. The fish was chunky and batter was beautiful. Will certainly be going back

Simply delicious! Curry sauce is the nicest I've had.

Following the takeover, they've expanded the menu with a variety of foods such as toasties, baked potatoes and pizzas you wouldn't normally get at a chippy so I decided to try it out. The margherita was delicious and freshly prepared in the pizza oven in front of me. Staff are friendly and I'll be here again to try more from the new menu.

Went with wife as been taken over and thought would try fish cooked to order the haddock was chunky and tasty the batter was crunchy but way to thick white underneath however the chips were the worst chips I have ever had from a chip chop very thinly cut soggy and scrappy . Have to say would not return

Decent but depends who serves you on how good the portion size is. Also they keep putting their prices up! The daily special has been different the last 3 times I’ve been in their.

Great portions, great tasting at a great price. I asked for fish and chips and l got half a whale and 2 sacks of spuds all freshly cooked to perfection. MOT.

The chips and gravey individually are very nice but personally didn't think much of the fish, could be improved. Seemed to absorb the oil too much

We have lived in Suffolk for 30 years now, and we cannot get good fish and chips down there. So this is always our first stop when visiting family in Yorkshire. Always great fish and chips here.

I live in the midlands but work around the country, i drove through Leeds and noticed this place a while ago, gave them a try. BEST CHIP SHOP IN THE COUNTRY. Whenever I'm driving near or through now i always go in. I urge you to try. Everything cookes fresh for you and to order.

I havent had fish and chips in ages ,thought id treat my son and i to them , but i was very disappointed in them ,they were very greasy, the left a film in yr mouth after,had th through them in bin ,they were that bad , sorry to say i wont be going back there in any time soon .

Very nice chips and the staff are very friendly. Loved how they asked how we wanted our salt,vinegar, peas and gravy, unlike most chippys who just put it on a tray.

Really enjoyed the dinner time special

I use this shop regularly and the food is usually very nice but today the fish and chips were pretty bad...we went in just after 12 dinnertime, the fish and chips were hard and very fatty I suspect they were left over from the previous day...definitely re-fried...pretty gross and unfair to serve this to us when we expect fresh food!!

Tingley bar fisheries are brilliant. Gate if India on the other hand is another experience. The food is fine if you can wait over an hour but only 35 mins for a drink!!!!. needless to say wont be trying it twice

Tingley Bar fish restaurant has now closed and is now a Indian. The take away fish bar is still open and serving very good fish n chips highly recommended.

Hate to say it but for me it was the best chippy around once upon a time but it's slipped down to the worst for me dripping in grease will not be eating there again in a hurry

Typical fish restaurant.. But excellent quality well cooked..

Not impressed. Arrived at the doors at 7 and it was not open, all in darkness. I rang only to be told it closes at 7pm. Please update your website and your sign outside. Off to Queens Drive now, they'll be open as always.

Actually worked at these premises back in 1978 part time.The place has changed hands a couple of times since then.However i must say the place is an eyesore and needs a professional makeover. Hand written signs on hi viz paper stuck on windows look a mess as does the General decor and fasard The place is obviously struggling as trying to woo customers in for cooked breakfast. Food at takeaway ok no criticism

Quick and easy and fine fish and chips. Almost always get fish and chips from here when in the area. A busy place so always have hot fish and chips ready and waiting. A shame it is so small so you have to queue outside in the cold but food is good.
