Tides Cafe - Highcliffe in Christchurch

Lovely, clean basic room for the night. Tea & Coffee making facilities, TV and our own bathroom. Made the mistake of showering with the bathroom door open, which made the room steam up everywhere. Window only opened about an inch too!!

A quick message about a lovely member of staff call Caz. Her telephone many was charming and professional and very welcoming. Me met face to face on check in and she was just as good on the front desk. A credit to the hotel she really is. Cliff Holland

A great base for the surrounding area and easy reach of the coastal walks and beach .

Was unfortunate enough to book 2 rooms on 28th September. We ended up in basement rooms at the furtherest end of the hotel. Corridors are freezing and there was a general dank and musty smell in both the corridor and rooms. Multiple key failures resulted in several trips to reception to get replacements multiple times. Staff were ok. The beds were comfy enough although some of the pillows were lumpy and below what we expected from the Premier Inn. Decor was very tired with paint peeling on skirting boards and lots of marks on walls. Thankfully we were staying for just one night. I could forgive the pretty dire state of things if it was not so very overpriced. Won’t be staying there again and first Premier Inn in a long while that we have found to definitely not be “Premier”!

Great cafe with amazing food. Possibly the best breakfast I’ve ever had in a cafe. Very welcoming staff who love dogs and spoiled our pup with sausages as we arrived. This helped to settle her. Thank you. Food was fresh and very tasty and a nice diverse menu. Highly recommend and definitely worth the detour.

Very friendly, great service, amazing food and nice decor 👌 We were staying close and looked at the reviews for my birthday breakfast. Definitely not disappointed, probably the best breakfast I have ever eaten and at 58yrs that’s a compliment. My wife’s breakfast was also as good.

We went with family for brunch and it was excellent. The food was freshly cooked and served on hot plates (I hate hot food being served on cold plates). The staff were all really friendly and it's a great place for breakfast/brunch. If you're in the area, it's well worth a visit.

Been many years since entering this bar, after a short wait was seated, ordered food and was happy with the meal, the waitress was very pleasant throughout my visit and when over hearing a complaint she was courteous and apologetic delivering a new meal to the customer.

This cafe is easily the best breakfast/brunch spot I’ve ever been too! They always have an incredible range of specials and the normal menu is also phenomenal. The service is brilliant and the chef, Nadine, is super friendly. I would highly recommend coming here.

Everything you'd expect from a Premier Inn - clean, quiet, no frills.

What a place! This cafe seems to be at the heart of a lovely village. It's an independent cafe which is clearly working hard to stand out. The owner and staff are so friendly, professional and very helpful. The food is lovingly prepared with fresh ingredients and lovely flavours. There's a friendly buzz and you feel welcome from the outset. This was my first visit but my mum's third that week .. it's that good! I will be back to sample something from the specials board soon! Keep up the great work.

Since finding Tides it’s become our favourite place to stop off for lunch. Staff always polite and helpful. The menu is amazing and every dish we have tried has been lovely. Today the lovely owner went out of her way to accommodate us as the cafe was extremely busy. Each dish is freshly cooked and the ingredients used are good quality. Well worth a visit.

Such a friendly welcoming cafe. The food was incredible, We had the best brunch, my husband had the special of croissant with maple syrup bacon, asparagus, poached eggs & hollandaise and I had the garlic mushrooms on sourdough with spinach and pine nuts. Just delicious, we would definitely return

Another lovely breakfast yesterday. Omg the honeymoon eggs.. it’s a must to try on the specials board this week was so yummy & the flavours worked so good together. Crispy Maple bacon, poached eggs, and asparagus drizzled with hollandaise sauce all on a croissant. Fab-u-lous!!! Staff are always so warm & welcoming. Doggy friendly too. See you soon Nadine xx

Visited Tides as for once we both had a day off and were out and about in the village. A lovely inviting atmosphere and we were greeted by very friendly staff and the owner. Shown to a table and wow the menu was just up our street. All of the dishes coming out looked amazing and it was quite clear they had a good returning clientele as customers were ordering their favourites again. I went for the pancakes. Lovely and fluffy, very nice quality bacon and just heaven. Husband went for a new addition, Honeymoon Eggs, again good quality ingredients used and it just seemed elevated from the usuals on offer in other establishments. Tides seem to have got the mix right. If you are looking for dishes made with good quality ingredients Tides have is your place.

We were staying nearby and were looking for somewhere for breakfast and stumbled across Tides, so glad we did! Lovely atmosphere inside, with a really friendly greeting from all the staff as we walked in. Between us we had the Tides Breakfast and the Avocado on Sourdough Toast, both of which were fantastic. Portion sizes were very generous and the service was speedy too. They were even really accommodating when I asked for more toast to replace what I already had, as I totally forgot to ask for it with no butter on it. They were lovely about it and it was hugely appreciated as it was my mistake entirely. The food itself was delicious, the avocado toast had a really nice balance between cool and spicy, which worked really well and it was both tasty and filling. The Tides breakfast was a really lovely dish as well, with a great ratio of all its components. Sadly we don't live in the area otherwise we'd be in all the time!

Absolutely fantastic cafe. Visited today as a family + dog. Service was friendly and quick (not too quick!). We all had brunch. I had Tides Miners (I think it was called) - poached eggs, hollandaise, bacon, black pudding. It went into my no 1 best breakfast spot. My husband and daughter loved theirs too. Also had best smoothie ever. The lady owner was so friendly, even offered to show me how to make hollandaise 😂.

We have stayed at several Premier Inn's in UK and find them to be excellent. Great staff...service and no surprises!

Firstly, the staff were very welcoming to my slow, old father. I’d leave 5 stars just based on that…. but …. They had burgers as one of their specials today, and it was THE BEST ! I believe it’s going to be added to their menu permanently, so there goes the diet. It was cooked to perfection and very tasty. And their potatoes, well, make sure you try those too. Did I mention the chocolate cake? Time for a nap….

Lovely warm welcome by staff, had the best coffee and bacon roll it was delicious. They were really helpful and let me work from their cafe.

Local hostelry - The Globe - good car parking but enter your number plate inside to avoid a fine. Special meal deals so look at the website. Very good for breakfast.

Visited Tides twice when staying at nearby Premier Inn and the food was amazing!! Lovely and kind staff too and would definitely recommend!!

This was one of the best breakfasts and strong coffee I’ve had in a v long time. The staff are also wonderful, and the cake!

Clean, comfortable and convenient, you know what to expect with a Premier inn. It won't win design awards but very good value for the price.

I come here every Wednesday with my sister and brother and I must say the service is excellent and the food absolutely delicious. Last week I had the corned beef hash and it was soooo good. The quality of the food is second to none and best breakfast in Christchurch A little gem

My brother was visiting from Canada and after attending mass he wanted to find somewhere that had breakfast with black pudding. As it was after 11.30 am. I thought it was going to be a lost cause as some places we went to were fully booked, but popped in no booking and were immediately accommodated. (it was Mothers' day!). The service, general atmosphere, and quality of food surpassed any expectations. Nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff even when he wanted extra black pudding. This is a gem, they have a great menu, all the ingredients were fresh and really tasty. Would probably advise booking, as we were extremely lucky to get a table for 2.

My Mum and I popped in for lunch today. Tides is a wonderful little place, Nadine and her team were so welcoming and friendly, the cafe has a lovely atmosphere and the food is absolutely amazing! (I highly recommend the crispy feta egg, it was delicious). If you’re in the area make sure you visit this hidden little gem - we will definitely be returning!

Our favourite place for brunch in all of Christchurch and Highcliffe. Food and drinks are always perfect, service is spot on, we don’t bother to go anywhere else now!

Excellent!! We were planning on visiting another cafe in Highcliffe but walked past Tides and saw how busy it was and the menu looked so good we headed on in. The team were so friendly and welcoming even though we had a big buggy which I know can be a pest. We sat at a lovely clean table and the waitress who looked after us (who said it was her first day making the coffee) made us 3 excellent coffees and we had the most delicious lunch. Large, hearty high quality portions. Can’t wait to come back. Thank you!

Walked past this place a few times & noted how busy it was so decided to visit for brunch with friends. It didn’t disappoint! Very friendly staff, buzzy atmosphere and most importantly, great coffee and excellent food. I had the corned beef hash which was lovely with perfectly cooked fried eggs, friends enjoyed the garlic mushrooms and avocado on toast. Best to book by the looks of it, we will be back!

Absolutely fabulous food and very reasonably priced. Nadine amazing chef and goes over and above to satisfy their customers. I have been about six times so far but its a definite place to return to.

Wow - what a gem with great service, fantastic food and a lovely menu. Dog friendly and a faultless experience that we all really enjoyed on our visit to the seaside nearby. Highly recommended to anyone and make the most of the fresh ingredients and fantastic atmosphere. We had one of the ‘specials’ and two dishes from the main brunch menu - can’t wait to go back.

First visit to Tides today, but won't be our last! We called ahead and reserved a table, which on a Saturday is clearly a good idea, as it was very busy. It's a small cafe and service was perhaps a little slow due to being so busy but was totally worth the wait, food was delicious, generous portions and piping hot. Me and hubby both had the Tides breakfast and our son had the pancakes, all of which was demolished! Can't wait to go back and try something else from the menu as it all sounds delicious. Tip: Make sure you look at the specials board as well, we didnt see it until we left as we were seated in the other side of the cafe and its not visible from those tables, so perhaps the cafe owners might consider either a duplicate board on both sides or hand out a print out of their daily specials to hand out with the menus? Looking forward to returning soon.

Lovely friendly cafe with excellent fresh food. Had a tasty lunch - my favourite meal of Avocado, feta with honey and egg on toast.

We've popped in a few times for a take away coffee but today was the first time we'd eaten at Tides. Firstly the owner and staff are super friendly and welcoming, it's dog friendly and our dog is treated like a king here but moreover the food we tried today was delicious. Super yummy and piping hot. Fabulous service. A friendly environment and my Grandsons were delighted with the Hot Chocolate topped with Marshmallows. Plan another visit with my husband for lunch and neighbours for Coffee and cake.

I had the Tides 'Eggs in Hell' and my wife had the Tides Breakfast. Both were excellent and the staff were wonderful. We are going back next week.

Lovely lunch at Tides yesterday. I enjoyed the crispy egg with avocado, tomato, onion & honey on toasted sourdough bread. Good to have something a little bit different with fresh & tasty ingredients. Very welcoming & excellent service.

As a resident of Highcliffe I was very pleased when Tides opened. The staff are well trained and very welcoming. There is a pleasant atmosphere echoed by the decor. Coffee very good and food choice varied and tasty. Just what Highcliffe needs!
