Top spot and just a 10 minute walk from the house. Good food, service and ambience. 5 stars.

Visited this hidden gem after a long walk on the Moncreiffe Hill. Dog friendly. Warm welcome and amazing staff! Great food as well, must try the smoked trout (farmed a few feet away) bagel.

Great food and coffee. Staff are very attentive and polite. Great vibe with lots of yoga classes going on upstairs. I go whenever I am in Scotland....not to the Yoga..

Just been there and I loved everything. The place was really pretty and even though we had to wait in a queue, the staff was very friendly and made sure we would get a table in a short time. The coffee was good and the food was amazing. They also had a lot of veggie/ vegan options. In sum a big recommendation from me :)

A nice out-of-the-way Cafe, would never have known this little gem existed unless I was invited by friends. Small menu, but good fresh tasty produce. Highly recommended. Small carpark with a path leading to Cafe past the Trout Ponds, Small outside seated area.

This is where we had the best breakfast of our entire stay in Scotland (Scottish breakfast, red fruit muesly, gingerbread, a mokka and a pineapple and ginger smoothie). The atmosphere is very pleasant thanks to the fireplace and the extremely friendly employees. Very good playlist too. Don't hesitate to come here if you want to have an unforgettable time 🥰

Everything was wonderful. Lovely staff who were absolutely exceptional. Very family friendly (I felt comfortable breastfeeding). Absolutely beautiful cafe and surrounding grounds. The only thing that was slightly disappointing was that you charge 50p for decaf. Other than that, the place is faultless!

The place and its surroundings are stunning. Great atmosphere and friendly service. However, the food was very basic and mediocre. This place is perfect for people who enjoy the environment more than the actual food. They also allow misbehaving, barking dogs which can be very bothersome if you want to relax or hold a conversation. If you're a foodie, avoid it. If food isn't your priority, then it's highly recommended.

Arrived for a late lunch. Although there were no free tables, we were made very welcome and only had to wait a short time for a table to become free. Lovely atmosphere, very friendly staff and a great choice on the menu. Soup and sandwich/bagel combos all round, which were all delicious and good value for money. The walk from the car park through the trout farm and seeing the water of the 'lade' flowing underneath the cafe building was a treat, too. We'll definitely be back!

We both had the soup combo with bagel Soup was ok, bagel was a bit tasteless but ok. The brownie was the smallest I have ever had but tasty. Over all cost was £40 for both of us which would have been fine If the portions were bigger and better presented. Too many better cafes around. 👍

We arrived at the tickled trout cafe after a walk near by. First time and the experience was ok but nothing special. We both had soup and bagel combo. No real presentation just a bowl of soup and a bagel on a wooden plate. Soup was again ok and the bagel was a bit tasteless. The warm brownie and ice cream was tasty enough but the smallest brownie I have ever received. Over all bill came to £40 which was a bit much for what we got. The only trout on menu was smoked trout! ( tastes like smoked salmon) why there is not other trout on the menu surprised me. Far better cafes around 👍

Such a lovely place, well worth a visit. We were delighted to find it for a coffee stop on our bike ride.

Had a lovely family brunch here. Options are all tasty with toasted sourdough roast veg my fave. Have a lovely local butchers breakfast on the menu which was super tempting. Car park is 3 mins away with an amazing water past the trout pools. We were lucky enough to do it on a perfectly sunny day. Had some nice high chairs and happy to move tables a bit to get people in.

WOW. This was AMAZING. I’m celiac and ordered the gluten free smashed avocado toast and it was so amazing that I ordered a second one too. So fresh. So delicious and flavorful. Then I got the toffee fudge gelato and it was really yummy. Also, we’re from out of town and they wrote us a list of things to do. TOP SERVICE. I really loved them. It was a good time.

We hadn’t got round to visiting before now, what with work at weekends and folks to visit elsewhere, but had heard so many good things. I’m so glad we have tried it now, and will definitely be making the effort to go back. Lovely food, amazing cakes, they’ve given the place such character too, and it’s dog friendly! We spoke to several staff and they were all so welcoming, and took such interest in their customers, it had a real homely feel. Pretty much perfect. Thanks for a lovely start to our weekend off!

What a beautiful place. It's now one of my go to in Perth. My niece took me and it ticked off the boxes of an enjoyable experience. Beautiful location with lots to look at. I had fantastic food and drinks. I also got to see some trout swimming. Just beautiful 😍

Brilliant place, the food the ambiance, the surroundings and especially the staff are just brilliant. It's doggy friendly and all the serving staff have wee treats in their pockets for our furry friends.

We popped in for lunch with our dog. It’s a busy little place so we waited for a table. Not long though and staff were coming to us constantly with updates. We got a lovely table and ordered our food. It came quickly and was delicious. The staff were all so very friendly. We will definitely be back again

A small but delicious menu in a strikingly individual space. Stone flagstones, woodburning stove and a river running through it. Dogs welcome and offered water.

Had a great visit here for lunch with the children. Had to wait a short while for a table but was worth it. Staff friendly and helpful. Soup was really tasty. Thoroughly enjoyed the brownie for dessert too. Nice, airy feel to the place. Now know where to park in future - hopefully on a sunnier day when the path isn’t as muddy with puddles.

Absolutely amazing breakfast. Me and my partner do a ranking of breakfasts and only ever had one that is as good so this is in our top 2, highly recommend. we were travelling back from the Scottish highlands and decided to stop off. They also posted my coat back to me which was so lovely of them.

Lovely place. For anyone interested in vegan options - there's nothing marked on the menu but staff were helpful. We had a roast veg and hummus panini (with crisps and salad) and soup. My son had a baked potato with beans and vegan butter. All really nice. It would be great to see a vegan-friendly cake, and for options to be labelled on the menu so make things easier for customers and staff. Overall really lovely place after a nice walk.

what a find brilliant food and coffee staff are fantastic

My wife and I went 21 December 2023. We were very disappointed. We waited at the door for 15 minutes and after being shown our table waited another 15 minutes or so but still had not been served. The staff were frenetic and nobody seemed interested in taking our order. The cafe is badly understaffed at lunchtime and there is no system in place to determine who should be served first. We were ghosted. We are also locals and won't return.

Food was lovely and home cooked. Great environment with the river running through the actual building.

This was a delightful spot for lunch. The place is large and spacious, yet with the log fire going it was cosy on this chilly December day. The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful and welcoming to our wee pup who was on her first visit. We had soup and sandwiches, which was excellent value for money and served promptly. We enjoyed our visit very much and will definitely be back and recommend it to friends and family.

A lovely spacious cafe in a beautiful old building in a village setting. It was cosy & welcoming with a log burner. A varied menu and a great selection of cakes, everything looked delicious. Service was friendly & professional. Dogs are welcome too. We’ll definitely visit again & will recommend to family & friends.

Really nice cafe which is dog friendly. Nice varied menu. Cakes very nice. It's nice to see a seating area with plenty of room round each table, makes for a much nicer experience. Staff were very attentive, but not overbearing.

We visited the Tickled Trout today for a light lunch and really enjoyed it. There was a good selection of fresh and tasty food and our son was pleased to find that breakfast was served all day. We sat outside because it was a bright and warm autumn day and the cafe is a proper sun trap on a nice day. The cafe was busy, but service was quick and efficient. The ice cream milk shakes are highly recommended! We will definitely be back!

My wife has been a customer but this was my first time - what a brilliant place to eat and relax. The food was freshly cooked and excellent. The staff were incredibly professional, helpful and friendly. Two other points to note: 1. They space their tables out very generously. I suspect they could easily get 50% more in without a problem but the way they have it is great for privacy and relaxation. 2. They sell a variety of Jams and Chutneys at a fair price. I’ve just sampled one and it is fantastic. All in all a great time & would thoroughly recommend. Slowly we are getting more places like this in Scotland and this is a perfect example, without charging extortionate prices that some others do. Thank you & hope to come back soon. 👍🙏

Yummiest food, we ate bacon, brie and cramberrie jam panini. Ham and cheese panini. Pineapple smoothie, and deluxe hot chocolate with marshmallow. Super dog friendly. Gorgeous inside and outdoor. Service the sweetest people, my kids drops the drinks but the waitress were extra caring and patient.

Food was delish, service was impeccable. Donna was our waitress and she was fabulous. Had my little boy with me who wanted to see the fish and the went out there way to let him see the fish being loaded into the tank he was loving life. Thank you so much. Great place to stop for food and coffee. Not a huge parking but is ok.

No! No! I’m local and they now serve black pudding (have been asking for months). They’ve changed the menu and now offer an all day Breakfast using local produce and it is delicious. Can’t recommend this highly enough. Cakes/ scones/ coffee/ sandwiches, are all delicious.

First visit. Staff very helpful and friendly. We had bacon rolls, felt they lacked a little bit of butter and another slice of bacon....but they were OK. Relatives had home baked cakes which were lovely.

Always a warm and friendly welcome! I keep coming back here with family and my partner as it’s so consistently good and the atmosphere is lovely. The soups are delicious, great coffee and amazing, moist homemade cakes. You can’t beat simple food done really well. The avocado toast with bacon and a fried egg is just lush. All the staff are lovely and if you get one of the squishy sofas you’ll never want to leave!

This cafe is situated in Almondbank and after a leisurely walk with the dog along the River Tay is a great wee place to sit and have a coffee and the dog is welcome too. It has tables outside so would be nice to sit on in the summer months.

Absolutely beautiful wee cafe..food was delicious and well presented. Trout pate was amazing. The staff were lovely and attentive. The part of the The fishery inside the cafe was very well done and added to the atmosphere. We even got the story of how the cafe was started. Clearly a lot of hard work, dedication and pure love has been put into this lovely business ❤️

Lovely atmosphere, staff friendly, coffee and cake very good. Sadly the menu is basic and limited. I had a panini recently with cream cheese and smoked trout but it had crumbs of trout, rather than slices. Disappointing but I will return, as a good setting.

First time visit. A really good coffee, we had cake and a traybake which were both superb in flavour and quality. Very interesting building with quirky features.

Been here a few times for breakfast and lunch. Staff very pleasant and welcoming. Good variety on menu and everything freshly made. Reasonably priced and service not long. Also they welcome dogs.
