Lovely brunch, lots of fab choices and friendly staff

Visited for afternoon tea and morning coffee several times. Cinnamon buns are to die for! Afternoon tea selection delicious and fresh. Service friendly and helpful. Lovely!

We went for Sunday lunch. We thought it was satisfactory. The food was okay. Our main waiter was good. The soup was very salty. The roasts were fine with nice vegetables especially the carrots. It would have been nicer to have the gravy in a separate jug so you could put on the amount you like. Bizarrely, the brie and cranberry sauce starter came with what was clearly strawberry jam . A waitress took it away and then returned to say the chef said it was cranberry sauce. That says something about that particular chef's attitude or ability or both. We were given another without any sauce. After we left they phoned to say a sweater had been left and was it ours, it wasn't, but I thought that was good service. December 31 2024 Over Christmas we discovered a kind of cranberry sauce - Ocean Spray - which is like the one we were served and thought was strawberry jam. It is totally different to the homemade cranberry sauce we're familiar with but, nonetheless, it must be the one you served. So The chef was right and I apologise for questioning his ability and attitude. Best wishes.

The menu choices are very good and the quality of produce used makes for a very good meal. Presentation of food was good and the service very good. Atmosphere is just a little noisy in the main eating area. Would recommend.

Every time we visit we are never disappointed. The staff are always lovely and to food amazing.

Lovely place, parking was a little busy but it was on the run up to Christmas and there’s lots of shops that use the car park. Lovely relaxing vibe, staff were very lovely, service was fast I.e being seated with menus and took drinks order, took our food order when coffees were brought out but once food had been served was difficult to flag down a waiter to re order coffees (not sure if this was because we were placed in the back corner). Coffees were lovely, food was great! a lovely place to go, will definitely visit again!

Great service, Boxing Day sandwich was a revelation. Garlic mayo ??,GARLIC MAYO?? It made a fantastic combination. I’m definitely having that again, pity it won’t be available in the new year.

I celebrated my 50th birthday here with 17 friends and family and we had the brunch. I submitted our order the week before. I was impressed that everyone's food came almost at the same time, especially as the whole place was busy. Staff were lovely and friendly. Everyone loved the food they had and were impressed that the menu was so varied. I'd been here before a couple times and had lovely lunches and I would totally recommend it. It's also very reasonably priced for such lovely food.

It's a 4.5 star review really. Food was delicious and the customer service was very good. We had great time and will return. I would suggest the size of slices of bread could be re-considered. One thin slice of toasted (a little dry) bread is not enough for a dish containing mainly a sauce. And £3 charge for another 2 thin slices of dry bread (toasted) feels a little unfair. Sourdough bread was tasty and good quality. It's just not enough for this type of dishes.

We had a party of 12 and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. A* service and great food

I’ve visited Thyme Kitchen regularly over the past few years. However a couple of visits a few months ago put me off after the service was poor and one of the staff was clearly having a bad day and came across very badly. I decided to try again two weeks ago and the standards were back to their best. I therefore took the family yesterday and I have to say given how busy it was the service was outstanding and the food excellent. So glad I decided to go back and I will be returning soon.

Food was lovely and spot on for approx 18 people! Atmosphere is always pleasant at Thyme due to the cosiness of place.

Had the three course Sunday lunch. Starters, main & desserts were all extremely good and very tasty. Only slight criticism is that the mains could have been a bit hotter.

Had difficulty finding a place to book around Lichfield for a group of 12 for Sunday lunch. Thyme Kitchen took the booking. And it was great for parking, the food, drinks selection, wonderful young staff and atmosphere

Young girls and lads working are polite and attentive to customer needs. Frequently checked on etc. been a few times now and it’s now my go to Lichfield restaurant

We have been here many times but unfortunately this visit disappointed. It was for my daughters 16th birthday which the waitress mentioned when we arrived which was nice, the table was booked for 13.30, our drinks order was taken straight away but didn't arrive for 20 minutes, our food order of 4 X breakfast type meals was taken after another 20 minutes, we were told it would be around 20 minutes to arrive, our food finally turned up after another 50 minutes from taking the order, all in it took just under 2 hours to get our food!

Hi, I brought my Mom along for a spot of brunch and we had a very nice creamy mushroom on sourdough. Service was attentive and the decor and ambience was warming. Just a bit of feedback - we found the crusts on the sourdough bread very hard to cut with standard knives, my Mom reverting to picking it up to pull apart with her hands. I suggest you serve this with a knife with a razer edge like a steak knife. Many thanks.

This restuarant is simply wonderful! Decor is lovely and modern, the food is always fresh and we have enjoyed every dish we have tried. I have eaten here with family and friends quite a few times now and we have never been disappointed. The staff cannot do enough for you, welcoming people in wheelchairs and with dogs. Thyme Kitchen is a real find and a reason to travel to Lichfield!

Three of us went for brunch and were surprised how busy Thyme was at 10.15am on a Sunday morning but everything seemed to be running like clockwork. We had made a reservation and were shown to our table quickly but given plenty of time to make our choices from the extensive menu. We selected shakshuka eggs, welsh rarebit (with added sausage) and the breakfast burrito in addition to our tea and coffee. The food was lovely and tasty and presented well and we all agreed we'd made good choices. We were served by very friendly staff who checked if we required anything further and my daughter bought a 'cruffin' to takeaway to enjoy at home later. If you are looking for somewhere that offers good food in pleasant surroundings then it is definitely worth giving Thyme Kitchen a try

Fabulous brunch for our first visit to the Thyme Kitchen. The staff were friendly, welcoming and efficient, and the food…? Simply delicious! Possibly the widest-ranging brunch menu I have ever seen, and excellent quality too. We’ll definitely be back!

We left hungry and broke. I had pancakes and my wife had Persian eggs. I got 3 very small pancakes the width of my fist. The food was cold and expensive for what you get. The conservatory area was freezing everyone had there coats on. Really gone down hill in the last year

Service and food at this place is terrific.

We were kept waiting for our teas because of a till error, but otherwise a lovely brunch.

Had no idea that the kitchen finishes serving at 3pm when I made the online booking for 3pm so when we arrived we were sat down and then waited a while to order a drink, we had to go up to the bar to ask. They then began to turn off lights in the areas surrounding our table which made it feel as though we needed to rush. The food was excellent and they bought us extra items as they were closing but again no check in to make sure everything was ok and no further drinks orders, no clearing of plates. We then had to go up to the bar to ask to pay. I’ve visited here a couple of times and had great experiences but it wasn’t the best on Sunday due to the service which is a shame as the food was so good.

Lovely place, friendly staff and food very good. The menu was extensive and although we didn't try, the fresh cakes on the counter looked very nice. Well worth visiting. Do consider booking if visiting at a busy time

Second time back in 3 weeks after discovering this gem. Have tried food I never normally would and thought about it so much I had to take my friends for breakfast within 3 weeks of going for the first time. Fabulous food and lovely staff aswell.

I am a regular at Thyme kitchen and recently went for brunch with my husband and two young children. Our waitress, Gaby, was so friendly and accommodating. When our little girl spilled her babycino, she replaced it even though I said it wasn’t necessary. The food was delicious - both the vegetarian breakfast and the kids pancakes. I can’t recommended enough!

First visit here today after being recommended it by a friend. Was not disappointed! Lovely setting amongst other small outlets to visit. Really liked the warm cosy atmosphere of the dining room. Helpful friendly staff and the food was fantastic. Will definitely be making a return visit!

Our first time here and an excellent experience. Atmosphere very calm and warm, dining room felt nice and spacious. The menu is huge and every item on there seems to be of very high quality. Service was outstanding. We were really impressed and will definitely be back

My wife and I found this little Gem and often go there for Breakfast. My wife is a vegetarian and always has the mushrooms which she loves. The staff are very attentive and friendly and cannot do enough for you. Especially the new manager Katie and staff member Kate. Lovely people, we keep returning and recommend them to all our clients and friends. If I could give you 6 stars for customer service I would !!!! Definitely recommend especially for service and vegetarians !

The service was very poor. We had booked a table in the conservatory and were told it might be chilly, but assured that our table would be next to the fire. However, when we arrived, someone else was seated at our reserved table with no explanation as to why it wasn’t held for us. The coffees were cold, as was the food, which took an incredibly long time to arrive. Overall, it wasn’t worth the visit or the price.

Great staff, very understanding when the friend who I was meeting was very late. Coffee it’s usual high standard and apparently the cake was delicious too.

Food was very good. We arrived 5 minutes early for our 13:15 booking and ordered straight away, but received our meals at 13:50 which we felt was too long a wait (we didn't order starters). The waiting staff were very friendly and polite, but we felt the lighting was a little harsh. Overall though, based mainly on the quality of the food, I would definitely recommend Thyme Kitchen

Discovered this little gem a few weeks ago. Will definitely return!

Earlier this week we took my daughter to the Thyme kitchen for a birthday afternoon tea. We were seated at a table in the lovely restaurant, which was beautifully decorated and had a lot of character. We were all extremely impressed with the amount and quality of food presented to us. The fresh sweet potato and coconut soup was delicious to start. It was followed by sweetcorn fritters with chilli jam and smashed avocado with feta slices. Allergies were catered for with our sandwich selection which were freshly made. The fruit scones with a generous dish of jam and clotted cream were warm and tasty. At this point we were full! However, we still had a plate with watermelon and pots of mixed berries, granola and yoghurt, as well as small slices of banana bread, chocolate brownies and lemon and rosemary cake! Thankfully, boxes were available to take the cake home. The service was great from friendly, helpful staff and unlimited tea or coffee was frequently replenished. We would highly recommend a visit to the Thyme kitchen for a very good value and delicious afternoon tea in lovely surroundings. We will be back again!

My first visit but it won’t be my last. Helpful, friendly staff and the most extensive breakfast menu I’ve ever seen. Food was delicious. Look forward to a return visit.

Disappointed with the Caesar Salad. All it consisted of was lots of lettuce and not much else. Should have had anchovies but not one found.

I really enjoyed the food and the young lady serving us was very pleasant and attentive. This was my first time at the Thyme Kitchen and I am sure it won't be my last. Would recommend.

Nice place to visit but unfortunately we waited 30-40 minutes for our tea/coffee and slices of cake. Fortunately, the younger server noticed something had gone wrong and tried her best to sort it quickly. The original server who took our order stated "the system sometimes glitches". After all that wait, the cake tasted somewhat stale! Not sure what went on there. No offer of a discount or anything of the kind...

Brilliant Sunday Roast, with lovely service and a good atmosphere.

A lovely situation, with good food and excellent staff.

Party of three, two of us had the Chicken & mushroom pie,which was excellent, but the dish was spoiled by the roast veggies, which were disappointing. Cauliflower, broccoli and sugar snap peas were all too 'al dente' - glazed carrots & parsnips on previous visits, which were much better. Because of the veggies, can only give 4 stars for the food. Excellent coffee, so much better than the chains!

Attended with family for my husband's birthday. We were sat inside. It was busy but at no point did we ever feel like we waited any length of time. The food was stunning!. What a lovely menu with plenty of choice. And really nice to get a good sized pot of tea!. Will definitely be coming back again soon.

Avoid - after a pleasant previous trip we decided to go again for breakfast this morning. Despite the big diversions in the area we felt it was worth it. I checked the website but you couldn’t book for the same day so off we went. We arrived about 10am, there were a good few people already there but we found a table and I spoke to a server who said she would come over. After a short wait she came over and said no food available if you hadn’t booked. No other explanation that was it. Totally unacceptable, nothing on your website to say this and like I said no other explanation. People have to travel a way to get to you and this treatment is very poor. DO NOT GO FOR FOOD UNLESS YOU HAVE A BOOKING!

Great place. We visited today (Saturday) and found it to be a bustling place, so would highly recommend booking ahead. We didn’t book, but were very grateful to be accommodated. Wonderful food, nice drinks and the team were friendly. Step free access much appreciated!

Lovely place, clean and well presented. Waitress was polite and courteous. Extensive selection on menu; however, we needed to enquire to where our food (sandwiches/snack) were, as considerably long wait and when they arrived, were cold. We mentioned this to the waitress, who took them back to 'warm them up' ....not acceptable and made for a disappointing lunch.

I had breakfast with my friend who was visiting from Canada. My friend picked the pancakes with bacon and Maple Syrup . We joked that we hoped it was authentic Maple Syrup and it was . I had the Veggie English Breakfast which was plentiful and delicious . Great food , great friendly staff and great service and location . Will definitely go back for another lovely breakfast , what a treat !

I felt under pressure to choose my cake,I just wanted make sure as they all looked delicious.sat outside for a a short time but there were a few mounds of dog mess not been cleaned up.put me right off visiting again.

We had a Bacon and egg cob for three, the egg was £1.20 extra!! for each, + tea and coffee the bill £34 But watch out for the donation of £1.23 towards a tree as they never asked us if we wanted to donate before paying the bill. Very pleasant staff and service and will no doubt return.

Lovely place and the staff were all lovely but the food portions are absolutely tiny and the prices are quite high for what you actually get. I had lunch here with two friends and we all had different dishes so was clear to see it’s an overall issue not specific dishes. I had to go out somewhere else afterwards as I was still hungry. Side note: who charges £1 extra for hollandaise sauce when it’s meant to be part of dish? 😂 Would visit again if I was there for other reasons and fancied a coffe/cake sit down but not for food, not worth it

Great food, a lovely local produce take on a rustic brunch, with great options for every palate. Booking is a good idea as it is popular. What made the day special was the fantastic service from Jack. Attentive, incredibly polite, very patient with our indecisiveness and helpful in an effortless way. If you dine here I hope you get Jack to serve your table!
