Thyme at Premier Inn in Edinburgh, City of

Food was awful, bland, no taste and didn't feel like a full meal. No side salad. When i complained, I was told because I ate chips and almost half the burger, they were unable to refund me and told me to go through their website. The other party in the group had breakfast and the bacon and blackpudding were like charcoal. Weatherspoons used to be a good place to go to get a decent meal. Awful and will not be a customer going forward. Cheap crap.

We arrived without booking and the restaurant was relatively quiet. The member of staff taking bookings told us that it would be ten minutes for a table which was fine although a little weird considering it was so quiet. We weren't offered to get a drink at the bar, which was offered to the couple coming after us. The female member of staff then proceeded to go and stand behind the bar for 20 minutes doing pretty much nothing. We waited in the waiting area and then just as we were about to leave another member of staff came along and asked colleagues why our room number hadn't been offered a table. The original lady was still standing at the bar. We felt very unwelcome by that one individual, possibly because we had children with us in the evening sitting. The other staff were absolutely fine once seated

Had fish and chips but it was a bit greasy and chips were crunchy. Suspect that the cooking oil could have been a bit old as had a strange taste. Friendly and helpful staff.

The food is very bad, the meats are already charcoal, also the fries, bad salad dressing, I can't recommend it to eat. I'm sorry. Very British breakfast for those of us who are not from the island. They don't serve cheese or ham. Only jam and then beans, blood sausages, etc... too local for a Latin tourist

Beware, stopped here for breakfast after dropping our daughter at the airport and was hit with an £85 parking fine. Seems now you can not just park up at a restaurant and park for free.

Only had to wait 30 minutes for my table . Had the mixed grill and it was lovely . The staff were very friendly too

Standard pub grub. Decent breakfast buffet. Very efficient staff, some who maybe need to soften their attitude a little

Wow the calamari was so over cook. Mixed grill for main course, the chips and eggs are cooked perfectly, the gammon is a nice thick cut and very tasty My servers are top notch, friendly a chap called Mark and dark hair lass. both doing a Great job. They are ageist in a way in the form they don’t give the same food choices to kids. They also don’t offer mash and I don’t like chips or any of the sides they offer. I only recommend for the drinks and a quiet atmosphere.

Travelled all day and then when I arrived at the hotel they didn't have any tables available. Very abrupt attitude from front of house. When I asked if there were any other restaurants nearby I was told no. Walked to the supermarket and saw actually there was a KFC. Not helpful at all.

Good place to eat if you're staying at Premier Inn. Average food but it's good when you're looking for something quick.

Great breakfasts with excellent quality food and coffee. Had an evening meal as well. Good range of food, cooked well and presented in a simple way.

Staying at the hotel and they couldn't get me a table for just me for another hour and a half. Restaurant looked practically empty.

As the eat-in option for the budget hotel chain it's OK but not my favourite of the different restaurant guises for Premier Inn. Food is reasonably priced but mass catered pre-prepared fare. Steaks are not bad but pricey for what they are. Limited drinks selection based on Whitbread interests. Staff are helpful, polite & friendly as always.

Restaurant du premier Inn de Edinburgh airport, voir mon avis sur l'hôtel. Très bon rapport qualité prix, on peut manger vers 21h max ce qui est appréciable pour un français qui ne mange pas à 18h 😜. Le meal deal tout compris est parfait et sur 4 soirée nous avons changé tous les soirs donc choix suffisant. Le personnel accueillant et serviable, vous demande si vous avez des allergies et ce tous les soirs pour ne pas faire d'impair. J'y retournerai sans hésiter.

Excellent service from every member of staff, delicious food, good choice and nothing was any bother for anyone.

It's about what you'd expect for a Premier Inn restaurant. Breakfast has a decent selection, though I only go for continental. Dinner isn't bad either. Service is a bit chaotic but friendly. Not a bad option given there's not much else around if you're staying overnight. Definitely make a booking for dinner as I saw several people turned away.

Breakfast was great lots to choose from and fab coffee. Lovely staff very helpful. One thing I was surprised about was a sign telling you "how to show kindness" its a sad world to live in when people don't know how to do this. But from what staff said its normal now for clients to be rude all the time.

As ever, the food and service were up to the high standards that I have become used to see. There is a good variety on the menu to allow for how you feel on the day.... be adventurous or secure.....your choice. After a "tricky" day's travel by train, the food is the "answer to your prayers" (or mine, at least).

Friendly helpful and enough staff on show

Staff nice and restaurant clean. Catered for my dietary requirements (Gluten Free). Thought it was a wee bit pricey for 3 people only eating a main and some soft drinks but food was nice. Took quite a while to receive food even though restaurant was quiet.

The service was very slow and the staff were not very welcoming I'm sorry to say, food was ok

Not sure if the food is good or not as we were astounded that the car park cost £10 regardless of length of stay! Needless to say we didn't bother.

Booked in as a resident in the hotel (10 Jan 2022), went down for a meal at 1830 hrs. Could not give me a seat until 2000 hrs, restaurant not even full. Asked to book a meal for my room - again they said I have an hour and a half wait. Will spend my meal allowance elsewhere, not a good way for paying guests to expect to wait and pre determine when they want to eat. Come on Premier Inn, sort this out.

Great staff, but food always warm, never hot. Stayed here many times and always only ever warm so tend to eat elsewhere in evening.

Modern hotel next to South Gyle Park Train Station has a Costa Coffee shop; right across the station you find Hermiston Gait shopping centre with a big Tesco, TK max, Decathlon, Halford.
