Always good food, good drink, great atmosphere, and wonderful host and hostess. Susan, Tony and all the staff provide a welcoming place to gather in the village. They open their rooms for small business/social groups to meet. They are always ready to pitch in and help support local and national charities through onsite and offsite events. They are a valued gem in our community. My Wife is from Texas and she agrees, they welcome all with a big HOWDY!

If I could put a 0 I would, one of the regular drinkers in the pub started to be verbally abusive towards me, and then started using sexual language towards me. Then I attempted to phone the pub to let them know and was told there’s nothing they can do. Not a not a very good way to get return customer from someone telling me “it’s not there problem” as it happened directly at the door you walk in and out of. Women was very rude on the phone about it also. When I asked are you not going to do anything about it she started laughing saying “what are you going to do about it”, I said is that your attitude towards it when someone is spoken to using vulgar sexual language to a woman by herself. NOT HELPFUL AT ALL!!! disgusting behaviour

We recently moved to Lochwinnoch and believe in shopping and spending our hard earned money in our local community as much as possible. Thank goodness Lochwinnoch has 3 EXCELLENT pubs. Three Churches for food and fun charitable events, The Brown Bull for fantastic ales, and The Corner Bar for local farm, Scottish and workman atmosphere. Any one of these pubs are a 5 * experience depending on what you are looking for.

Shocking really… I asked the bar staff if we could order food and was told “it’s closed” so I asked “alright, can we bring ourselves a chippy then?” (because if kitchens closed this has usually been allowed, me my family and friends have seen people with takeaways from other places before if the kitchens been closed) and the bar girl was like “no” and I responded “no?”, and just being a bit defensive/rude about it too just all round got met with a bad attitude for asking a simple question. Then I said “so I can’t order food and I can’t bring food?”, and she was just like “no you can’t” and I was obviously confused as if kitchen is ‘closed’ I’ve witnessed it usually being allowed? If I hadn’t seen people with outside food before I probably wouldn’t have asked in the first place… Then my mate explained that it’s just fully booked/busy not actually closed and then the girl changed her attitude slightly about it but not by much probably because she’s realised I wasn’t actually there when she’d explained it properly to my mate. Once explained that the kitchen was actually open but too busy that helped with the confusion and I thought that was the end of that! Me and my mate both in agreement that there was No big deal, no nasty words etc etc. i could of complained about her attitude but it was a busy day and they were probably stressed so understood that and not one to make a mountain out of a molehill. When I go back outside I obviously say to the guys we’re with what happened & how there’ll be no food and think either I’ve gone on to be the topic of conversation amongst the staff in at the bar and/or one of the other waitresses had gone in and b****** about me because I was saying to the guys about what had happened. Because I get a bar girl coming out and blatantly ‘pointing me out’ at the other staff whilst I’m with my partner and baby which seemed aggressive & totally no need for. Next thing that evening after leaving I get this inappropriate and quite condescending message from the owners PERSONAL Facebook page (who didn’t even see/hear the conversation between me and her bar girl, which to be honest didn’t even come to anything, was no rudeness just taken aback due to miscommunication of information and obviously having seen members of the public in before with outside food thought no harm in asking, no abuse, no big scene or any altercation of sorts at all, but she’s obviously been so ruffled by a simple question (which she didn’t explain to me properly in the first instance I was just met with a bad attitude, defensive & abrupt “no”s) enough to search for me on Facebook which is ridiculous and even more so to message me through it! I was sent their ‘policy’ on food from other places being taken into the pub. Which was unnecessary as it stated whilst kitchen is open outside food not allowed etc but i had initially been told ‘closed’. But when I went onto explain to the owner (which I shouldn’t have had to have done in the first place as she should not have messaged me as it wasn’t a big deal and wasn’t appropriate) about what actually had happened she clearly took offence to me stating how the bar girl was actually being quite rude and she hadn’t explained in the first instance that the kitchen was open but too busy and how it was obviously a misunderstanding but I did not take kindly to being made aware that I’d been clearly b****** about afterwards as it was now being MADE into a big deal when it wasn’t a big deal… It was gone on to say “there has been various times now you have responded on previous visits abruptly which I haven’t made an issue of, if you feel you will avoid the pub for a while that’s your choice. My team were far too busy today to ‘been b******’ chat being part of their shift, there is plenty of choice in the village for all customers to visit hospitality venues” So either more false conversation took place about my character as I’ve barely been in and whenever I have it’s usually in a big group. I don’t think I’ve ever even spoken to those particular members of staff before or I’ve also been topic of conversation in the past. But it seems odd as I barely ever go to the pub maybe only like 3 times this year alone, which made me wonder if they maybe had a mistaken identity or just trying a little bit of ‘gaslighting’ to try and make me question myself and/or get away with the staff being rude. I barely even go up to the bar to order my own drink, even then it’s barely ever alcoholic, even if I was ‘abrupt’ which they're probably getting mixed up with me being confused because at first it seemed like 1 rule for 1 and a different rule for others but then turned out to be miscommunication, there are plenty folk who go there who act unruly, drunk, people who probably have outdated attitudes & voice them etc. so I do wonder how the staff cope when they are there but as I’m not exactly a ‘regular’ as I don’t drink much and get anxious when I’m in places that are quite busy maybe I wasn’t worth treating better. Extremely unprofessional on the managements part and a real shame because out of all of the pubs in the village this is the one I would usually have gone to especially as I know people in the sponsored football team and would usually make the effort to attend their fundraising nights etc but now don’t feel welcome and wonder what they say about other customers who are unaware they have some sort of problem with them… In addition I also got a special Facebook post on their business page aimed specifically at me but without naming me which was very passive aggressive and could potentially be seen as bullying. Because I’d also been TOLD by the owner I’ve been bad before it made me question myself and I asked my family and friends as I never go here alone and they all agree that sounded fabricated again as I barely ever go and when I do I don’t usually order my own drinks or get the opportunity to speak much to staff. The whole thing literally started because of a confusion/miscommunication and never even came to any big deal at all but was made to by the staffs & managers actions afterwards. I never expect things like apologies & usually keep my head down etc. and I didn’t expect an apology from the bar staff or anything because ‘s*** happens’ people get stressed etc. but to have been contacted by the owner in this way and even be given an assessment of my personality this way and try to turn it into like I’m some sort of ‘problem’ customer is completely & utterly ridiculous and she should quite frankly be giving me an apology. Will not be back… They should take their own advice & #bekind…

Really friendly pub with marvellous traditional food at great prices. We visited during the period of COVID restrictions and whilst they were very careful with cleaning, distancing etc, everything still felt relaxed and very well organised. On one particular occasion we went, they were clearly heavily booked but really made an effort to get us in. My wife particularly enjoyed the haggis Bon Bons. Unfortunately our effort to drink them out of Heavilee was not successful. We really hope to visit Lochwinnoch again and will definitely return if we do.

I visited this restaurant with my 2 children for lunch and was so disappointed, the WORSE FOOD and WORSE SERVICE Ive experienced in a very long time. Staff have a TERRIBLE ATTITUDE. I ordered lentil soup, which wasn't lentil soup atall as it had lots of ham all through it, the waitress told me it was lentil? My 3 year olds meal came out quickly which was chicken nuggets then myself and my 12 year old's food arrived 35 minutes later!!! When I asked the waitress why it was taking so long she had a really negative, awful attitude, (despite us still waiting for our food and my 3 year old had already eaten) argued that I asked for the soup with the children's meal, this does not mean I want us all to eat at different times??? It beggers belief why my two children's meals didn't come out at the same time . This was a very painful experience. Not once were we asked how our food was and not once given an apology. Also, please note that this restaurant does not participate in the government initiative of 50% off during August due to Covid. I would suggest AVOIDING THIS RESTAURANT at all costs unless you want awful food and terrible food.

Choices made. Steak Pie with chips. Scampi with chips and a scampi with new potatoes. Childs portion of freshly cooked battered chicken nuggets and chips (this was a huge portion for a child). Everything piping hot and good portion sizes. Sticky toffee pudding, one with ice cream and one with custard, a kids ice cream. Our first visit here for lunch and it won't be our last.

We had a fantastic lunch here. Food was fresh & hot and Samantha is lovely. Only criticism is the portion sizes. The pub chips are AMAZING but maybe a quarter of what we each got would be plenty as all of us only managed half of what was on our plates. So portion size does need a rethink. What a complaint to have though. Prices are great as well £8.50 for a gut busting main.

This is not the place for me, and I won't return The food was just mediocre, but hot, and the service indifferent. The surroundings were so depressing, right down to the " tacky " table top, which didn't improve after the desultory wipe by the waitress !! People drifted in and out, behind the bar and in front of the bar, we had no idea who was who ? This pub has recently hanged hands, and will have to seriously up their game if they want to be a success.

In total ,I had about 27 guests ,including some children and my 4 week old grand daughter. They called me in a few weeks in advance to discuss the menu and printed it off specially for me. On the day ,we couldn't have been made more welcome .I chose The Three Churches because I had lunch there 4 times in 2018 and all were good. My disabled nephew was also very well catered for -wheel chair access is available via the side door ,and his Dad was able to get his vehicle up close. Many thanks for making my day special !

Compared to our last visit there have been improvements but food still not quite hitting the mark. For what I got it was very overpriced. Gammon steak was more like a very thick piece if bacon but was tasty. Peas nice and fresh. Chips were not nice but this could be down to being between potato seasons. Fish mum had she enjoyed but greasy. She didn't touch her chips. Not as long a wait as it used to be though and current staff are just lovely. Will likely give it another try at some point.

Terrible experience. Waited 45 minutes to receive food and the restaurant had only 4 tables taken. On questioning the staff, they told us they were short staffed and a party of 12 had just arrived before us in the bar. When my chicken fajita wrap did arrive, the wrap was stone cold with luke warm chicken pieces. The staff did reheat it for me but it was inedible : the tortilla chips on the side were flavourless and of the cheapest variety. The chicken was over cooked and the dish very dry, with no sauce or vegetables inside the wrap. My cup of tea seemed to have been made from the cheapest budget brand tea bags. My husband ordered chicken with Stornaway black pudding in a whisky sauce. The portion of chicken was small and overcooked. The sauce was bland and flavourless. The staff asked if we enjoyed the meal and we told them of the issues , however we were charged the full amount for very poor quality food and service. Won't be back.

(It really was incredibly salty!!)The batter on my fish was soggy so I easily slid the oily fish from out of it and had that..My peas, chips and Daisy's garlic bread were ok, (surely 3 impossible things to mess up?)We were charged full price, albeit with an apology from the Waitress..Me and Daisy will not be back!Serious lack of decent places to eat in Lochwinnoch in the evening. The portions are very generous. The deserts were well presented with only one critism no custard available. Very sleepy and unspolied, didn't see any of the chains at all, just the way its always been I guess although I noted it might have had a railway once. Place to eat, saw the Three Churches, didn't know if it did lunch but yes it did, although coming up to Christmas only the regular menu on. The wife had the lasagne, lots, I had the steak'n'ale pie, both very good and served eifficiently if a tad slow. The staff are friendly and the food is excellent. I have been here a few times as my friend lives in the village. Last friday I was invited to the St Andrews day lunch that is organised by the Elderly Forum in the village. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The local butcher and a couple of his friends came along to entertain us. They played the fiddle, accordian and guitar and sang Scottish songs. Most people joined in and he organised this for nothing. The village sticks together. Majority of people had a great time. Unfortunately there is always someone you cant please. The staff were dancing behind the bar. They enjoyed themselves as well. We will be going there for our lunch in the run up to Christmas with friends. We went there last year and the meal was great. My wife is a vegetarian and generally has vegetable bhuna which she really likes. I would also recommend trying the fish cake starter. The service is good and generally very quick

We found this place by chance today while heading home, spotted the beer garden sign on this gloriously sunny Saturday and stopped to check out the menu since we were looking for some lunch. The menu was good and the beer garden was virtually empty and bathed in sun so it was an easy decision. I had the mushrooms in a creamy, garlic white wine sauce on garlic bread to start which was delicious, my partner had the haddock risotto - tasty and a massive portion. Some people would struggle with their mains after that. Both were reasonably priced aswell which was a real bonus. For my main I had the Haddock Mornay - the most enormous piece of fish I have ever been served was given to me on a pile of mashed potato with veg which wasn't overcooked on the side. It was quite salty as is always a risk with Smoked Haddock dishes but very tasty. My partner had the Roast Beef - it was a little on the dry side and he really disliked the gravy. We both enjoyed our visit as a whole though and will definitey be back to sample more of the menu.

Our first full day in Lochwinnoch as househunters and potential future residents. Exciting! Choosing a place to eat got off to a not-great start as we went into one posh place along the main street, immediately got a sexist comment from a drinker before literally through the door, so left. Ended up here a few minutes later; Lochwinnoch turns out to have a very physically small place. Anyway, our food was great, our waitress was friendly and gave lots of useful information (we were the couple scribbling notes), service was quick. The only downside was that the meals were large, necessitating some groaning, and our next house viewing was up a steep hill! Will be back.

I had not been in this pub for around 20 years because of its appearance, dismal interior, the type of clientele it attracted and it's general poorly held local reputation. What a surprise my wife and I got when we were invited there for lunch. All the issues which kept me away seem to have been addressed and it was an altogether enjoyable experience. The new owners have done a great job including a name change and I will be a regular visitor if they can maintain its new found reputation.

The three churches never disappoints. This was a first visit for my friends and I had no qualms to take them there. Always good value for money my only complaint is that the portion sizes are too big!

Just wanted to say what a pleasant surprise this was, I didn't know what to expect from the Three Churches but theor standard of food and service was first class, generous portions, attentive but not over-bearing staff and a lovely atmosphere, I couldn't recommend the Three Churches highly enough

Veg watery chicken evidently frozen from a bag of shaped pieces not fresh maybe if better ingredients and increase price would raise standards of potentially good resteraunt. Waiting time poor should maybe consider staggering booking at weekends.

Went out for dinner for Mother's Day here; food was ok but service was shockingly bad. Waited about 25 mins for our starters and then over half an hour between courses. Put a total dampner on our day ;-(

Worst experience I have ever had in any restaurant. Wasn't busy and yet waited well over 30 minutes for food to arrive. When it did it was completely unacceptable for one of us. Mine was fine and tasty but my friend's was completely substandard. Potatoes on plate were half black and the rest was swimming in cream. After complaining an alternative was ordered but was equally substandard- luke warm. To be fair that meal wasn't paid for and, while the chef did come to speak to us, he did not take full responsibility. Waiting staff extremely apologetic but it was noted that another customer was also unhappy but wasn't treated with the same compassion.

Found everything from soup to main bland. Service excellent, but had tastier food out a tin. Vegetables seriously overcooked and oozing water like sponges. Hard to differentiate pasta sauce from tinned macaroni

Grown very fond of this place, been eating in here since Garthland days, can't fault it. Decor inside is quaint and warm, service is always unexpectedly prompt and helpful, (even Trish) and for the variety of options on the menu available, the chefs pull them all off to a high standard. Never had a qualm or have had to send the food back. We usually share one of their signature platters which gets demolished, whilst im always tempted by the immaculate specials which last time was Venison in a homemade sauce.(?) Definitely adequately priced, even drinks wise, and once in a blue moon they host local talent! Only downside - its obvious that some of the accompanying sauces or dips are packet-bought.

As a villager I was very disappointed in the service received today! I often visit the three churches with my family and extended family and have spent a substantial amount of money in this restaurant and bar. However today I questioned one of the offers on the menu as on the facebook page it is very misleading. The member of staff I spoke with had a major attitude (slamming books down and doors when I asked to speak to the manager). The manager had an equally unpleasant attitude when I asked her about it and was confrontational in her approach. I simply mentioned that after checking the menu on the facebook page I was slightly confused as I had chosen my meal as I did in order to get the offer I had looked at. To this the managers response was "well you've been in here a lot and the offers have been the same each time you've been here" I hadn't actually been in on a Saturday at this time before which is when this offer applied. Anyway not very good customer service. I would have only saved £4 but to me it's the principle. Five years of giving them my custom and a lot of money and for £4 they have lost my custom forever and a lot more money!! Not a very good business attitude and no attempt to please the customer! So basically as long as you don't complain in the three churches you'll probably be OK!!

My family and I used Lochwinnoch as a holiday base for a week and ate at the Three Churches on our first evening. We enjoyed the food so much we ate there twice more in the same week. We tried the curry night on the Thursday and between the four of us tried nine different meals over the course of our three visits. None of the meals let us down. The food was fantastic with great portions, the beer is very well-kept and the prices are very reasonable. All of the staff, including our waitress, were very friendly and helpful too. I would recommend the Three Churches to anybody close to Lochwinnoch.

Went for dinner as new kitchen was being installed. Pleasantly surprised. Usual pub grub, but it was freshly made. I had scampi and chips, both were crisply fried and not greasy. The staff were friendly. Sat out in the beer garden, which was nice. The inside area also seemed fine. Recommend it for plain and well cooked food.

We are getting a new kitchen. These words will probably strike at the heart of anyone who prefers home cooked food for most of the time. Essentially, apart from a barbecue, a halogen oven and a combi oven, we are stuck. Now, you might think that the combination I have just described would allow us to cook just about anything but we don't have enough surface or ventilation to use all of these at once. So what can we do? Well; I can cook simple meals; we can eat salads; I could always buy ready meals (I would sooner nail my scalp to a wall with my own teeth!). Or - we can go out for dinner. Pressures of the day were such that we could not travel far so we walked to The Three Churches. We got a warm welcome and bought some iffy (but popular in the U.K.) lager. - It was a hot day. My wife had trafitional scampi and chips. The portion was huge and cooked perfectly. I had an Aberdeen Angus burger. It was not quite from the furry boot counties but tasted great anyway. The accompaniments were basic and predictable but none the worse for that. I have to say that we will go back, lots of times, for some of the more imaginative items on their menu. Well done, chaps and chapesses. But, please, would you consider getting in at least one real ale -please, again?

This place has a surprisingly good menu for what seems like a plain village pub from the outside. Special themed nights for different clientèle such as "Kids eat free" on Mondays, "Curry for a Fiver Night" on Thursdays, "Steak Night" on Fridays all make for an interesting offering. Lunchtime menu also has Chef's Specials to watch for and some special prices for lunch for two diners. Worth making the trip to Lochwinnoch for a change of scenery. Open every day for food, so a good option Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday when some other local hostelries have at least one day when the kitchen or whole place is closed.

4 of us went for lunch and were not disappointed. Does look like a pub from the outside but the dining area is nice and the staff were great. Good choice on the menu and the portions were huge and very very tasty. As some one else mentioned the chefs were kind enough to box up my mums sunday roast she was full up after the amazing brushetta. Geat value for money, friendly service and lovely food. Got fed up with the deep fried menu at the hotel so thought we would check out this place. It didn't look like a family friendly place from the outside (looked like a pub) but it definitely was. Clean modern surroundings, plenty of choice on the menu and cheap beer! I had the mushroom stroganoff and it was delicious, other half had the scampi and even he was struggling to finish it (unheard of), steak pie was scorching hot and sooo tasty and the kids fish fingers was demolished quickly. The dessert choices were really good too. We won't be eating in our hotel again as its cheaper and nicer here. A nice wee find in Lochwinnoch :-D

We were regulars for a while in this Restaurant just after it opened a few years back, food was top class, but it had quite a limited menu I remember, excellent for the village though I thought, but it seemed to fall away a bit and don't know the reason for that. During this period the Restaurant clientele seemed to desert the place, and I thought at one stage that it might shut. We decided to try it again a couple of weeks back, as I love the beer that is on tap there. What a pleasant surprise!! The small menu had turned into a huge one, with two blackboards of specials to mull over. The meals we had were just fantastic, better than we remembered before. We stayed behind later to watch the live band that performed in the Restaurant/ Lounge area later on in the evening, and had a bit of banter with the locals. All in all a great evening. I hope the public continue to frequent this Restaurant as I think thats the key to its continued success. Hope the word gets out about the lovely fresh food and the wide range of choices. It deserves to succeed, and the village needs it.

We just popped in for a drink before going to a gig round the corner. It has a nice feel to it inside like a wine bar. Modern decor. It was quite busy but still managed to get a seat. They have a function room upstairs that was heaving with people. They had a good DJ mixing tracks together. I could easily have settled in for the night. However, they do need to decorate the toilets to the same standard as the rest of the place. A few people were having food. It looked good but we didn't try.
