Shared another amazing birthday lunch in the Thomas restaurant inside Future Inns Cardiff. Thank you to all the staff who couldn’t do enough to help make it such a special occasion. Food, service and atmosphere were perfect. Special mention to Diane, Mathew and their manager Nolito as they were all amazing. Thank you

I was one of many celebrating n 18th birthday recently with a Sunday lunch at the Cardiff Bay branch. I have to say the service, especially from Diane, Mathew and Nico (manager) was excellent! Both quick and efficient. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble and the quality food was excellent as usual and the prices provided very good value for money. Highly recommended.

Experienced the Festive lunch at Thomas Restaurant at the Future Inn Hotel today.What a treat.For starters,not those on the festive menu,the Hotel/Restaurant has gone the extra mile to decorate,creating a very impressive light show!.The Restaurant Manager and staff run a tight ship-service impeccable!.The Festive menu,short and to the point…..Soup starter perfect.The Roast Turkey main course was excellent.Roast potatoes outstanding!(hard to find in Cardiff).Christmas pudding/custard also top drawer.For atmosphere service and top class food 10/10.

This is a lovely restaurant situated in the Fortune hotel Cardiff Bay. The staff and service are 5*. It serves lovely food and I recommend the Sunday roast. Breakfast is self service buffet with plenty of choices. The bar is also served by the restaurant with plenty of choice of lagers.

Rubbish expected fine dining received a badly cooked burger.

The meals advertised are nothing like the menu.. the food they serve is worse than I have ever had.. fine dining !!!!!!

We walked in without a reservation, and they accommodated us. Carlos attended to us - great service!!!

We are here for Easter weekend break. I ordered one penini, skin fries and beers. I loved the presentation and preparation The prices are reasonable and the staff are friendly

Had the Welsh afternoon tea today. The staff were really friendly and helpful, making sure we had enough tea/coffee regularly. They were also very welcoming to the child we were with, even bringing them a hot chocolate. They also gave us some containers to take away some of the cake as we could not eat it all. They were very relaxed, as we arrived late and we were not rushed out either. Well done, an amazing service and experience. Would definitely recommend.

I wanted to try authentic Welsh cuisine, and this restaurant popped up during a search. It had good reviews, so I thought I'd pay a visit. First impressions weren't entirely positive. It wasn't busy at all, and the manager just appeared to ignore me. A waiter from the bar turned up a short while later and seated me. Then I had to wait a while for the same waiter to take my order for the drinks and since I had already waited a while, I ordered the food at the same time. This is where the restaurant really shined. Every meal was well seasoned and cooked. I absolutely adorned the Lamb Cawl, it was bursting with flavour. Though I wasn't too big a fan of the starter and pudding, that was more to do with my tastes than the quality of the food. The menu is fairly small, which is usually a good thing in my experience but something to bear in mind for those who you who like a more extensive choice.

Had a really nice meal in the hotel as the weather was too awful to go out! The food was really good but service was a bit slow.

I brought my Mum here for yet another afternoon tea but this time the service failed to impress us. The older waiter who has been there each previous visit, greeted us, served our food and then it went downhill from there. He obviously had finished his shift as he was always very attentive and friendly. I had to go to the bar twice to ask for more tea. I also requested some butter but more cream was brought to our table instead. Nobody came to us and asked if everything was OK as is usual. We were left to our own devices which is not the norm. When I went to pay the boy said he was new but that is no excuse as he should have been trained. Admittedly a few couples came into the lounge area after we sat in the restaurant but it wasn't that busy. I don't think we will rush back which is a shame as i have been several times with different groups in the past and always recommend your afternoon tea.

Had the bottom less prosecco afternoon tea and it was fabulous, great to see that gluten free was catered for and was just as delicious as the other dishes. The service was fantastic, I was a little concerned that we may have felt rushed, or that the staff were clock watching that we didn't go over our time, like I have experienced in other places, but absolutely not the case. It was lovely and relaxed but professional and polite. would definitely go back

The food is amazing. The staff are all so polite and professional. Reasonable prices for the quality of food and service. It's definitely worth trying.

Only ever had a drink at the bar area here. Nice quiet environment, little pricey for a beer. I guess that’s hotel prices for you

I had an absolutely lovely lunch here on Sunday . Can’t fault a thing

The food is good enough. The staff are undertrained and don't really know what they're doing... Most of them are friendly enough but not all.

The food was tasty. We opted for the set menu, but my partner wished there was a little more choice on the menu. The waiter had started doing our drinks, then showed us to our table but appeared to forget our drinks and went on to serve others. They took our cutlery when they cleared our starters and forget to give us some for our main course. The waitress was friendly. Overal, the experience was good and the food tasted fresh. Forget to get pictures of our desserts, we were just keen to eat them.

Relaxed atmosphere, bar attached to the Future Inn. Good prices and easy atmosphere. Bottle of wine around the 20 pound mark. Was a good spot to wait for a taxi. Food looked nice but we didn't try it. Recommended if you are staying in the hotel

Nice restaurant decor - Very limited menu at the moment, food slow and pretty average. Didn't hate it but wouldn't go again, wasn't wowed by anything.

Lovely meal, bar staff a little slow but we eventually got there😉 no southern comfort 😲😲 not a good start!!

Very comfortable and modern restaurant and bar. Staff very helpful and friendly. We did not get the chance to taste the cuisine but hopefully next time 😀

Warm, welcoming staff and delicious food. Children's options weren't as good as I'd hoped but no different to most restaurants really.

My sister and I booked afternoon tea as a gift for Father’s Day. While booking a traditional tea it popped up asking did we want to upgrade to a gentleman’s afternoon tea which included an alcoholic drink. I decided to go for the upgrade. It asked were there any dietary requirements I asked for no fish as we weren’t that fussed on fish. Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly staff and asked what drink we would like. The afternoon tea was brought to us and to say I was disappointed was an understatement. There were no sandwiches, we were greeted with 3 glasses which were a fish cocktail, salmon blinis and beef sliders that were the size of a 10 pence piece!! We called over the waiter and told him that we specifically asked for no fish to which he replied he hadn’t read the message!! He said I’ll bring something out to compensate . 10 minutes later he brought out 4 more sliders and it didn’t even look like the beef inside had been cooked!! The restaurant had our contact details but never advised us that it was mainly fish on the menu even though we’d asked for no fish!! Very very poor afternoon tea,, the worst we’d ever had and for an extra pint for my dad we left £57.00 lighter and very hungry!!! Would not recommend this place to anyone.

Nice tasty food made to a very good standard, decent atmosphere and friendly, well-informed staff.

Very good restaurant and if you have food allergies the chef will happily cater to your dietary requirements.
