A nice little coffee shop in a church in mumbles. Always liked it here but a bit pricey now and was overcharged for 2 large Americanos which should have come to 7.20 but was charged 7.90 which is the price for cappuccino and latte but even that is pricey compared to other coffee shops.

Pate on toast is ok. But the side salad (bagged lettuce) it is served with has been very disappointing on three occasions, with wilted brown tasteless lettuce. It would be so much more appealing to have a small side salad with a piece of tomato to add colour and some cucumber for extra crunch with a little balsamic glaze drizzled over.

Why eat at home when you can enjoy first class food, reasonably priced, served by lovely staff and surrounded by the warm glow of a great atmosphere. The whole enterprise at Mumbles Methodist Church is to be greatly admired and is so worthy of support from residents and visitors to Mumbles. Dropped in a for a coffee and ordered 2 cappuccinos. When they arrived they were so weak that I too them straight back ( another customer was doing exactly the same) and they were replaced with two more equally weak coffee's. At this point the owner or person in charge intervened and tried to explain to me that it was Italian coffee ( implying I had never had Italian coffee - big mistake) and it had come from that established capital of Italian coffee - Cardiff ( hysterical laughter was suppressed). She then provided a further shot of coffee each which mad it passable. At £2.60 for small cup this is quite frankly a rip-off. Will never return or recommend.

We wanted somewhere for a coffee and a cake, this place looked fairly quiet. Ordered 2 scones with jam and cream, cake and coffees. When they arrived, firstly there was no knife to cut the scone in half and no jam or cream. Ok I’m not fussy about the knife that’s no problem but...When I went back to the till I asked a lady (different from the first, possibly a manager in her 60s short hair) for the jam and cream, the woman abruptly said that it’s extra and only comes with the tea special?! I told her that I specifically asked for jam and cream when I ordered. Didn’t offer an alternative or even butter. When I took the scones back she looked at me in absolute disgust, Very poor customer service and in fact my mother has been here before and the service wasn’t great! Definitely won’t call again!! You may want to focus on getting your staff trained better in customer care! You have a great location but it’s a shame your staff leave you down!

Spending the afternoon in Mumbles we decided to stop for tea in Theo’s café. Tucked away on the ground floor of Mumbles Methodist church, the café is modern but decorated in keeping with the 1877 building that houses it. You enter through an elaborately carved stone archway, and as well as the café there’s a gift shop and second hand book shop on the premises. The church has been re-located upstairs. The café has plenty of seating, and a wide choice of food on the menu, ranging from soups, salads and sandwiches to homemade cakes. I had a pot of tea and a slice of coffee and walnut cake. There was enough tea for two cups, and the cake was a generous size and delicious. The total bill was £3.10, which I thought was excellent value. The staff were pleasant and helpful and, after choosing your food at the counter, they deliver it to your table. Glad we found it.

On a recent visit to Theo's we had the worst service we've ever had in any cafe. The young waitress at the till took my order and gave me the impression that she didn't want my custom and quite frankly, wanted to go home. The second young waitress who was twice as miserable as the first brought our order over on a tray, put the tray on the table and simply walked off, the ordered scone was still wrapped in cling film. Secondly, when I used the public services there, there was no soap, no dryer, no paper towels and no toilet paper :( I did overhear that the customer who left in-front of us had brought up this problem (toilets) to the waitresses attention but nothing was done about it. When I went to use the toilet, I knew exactly what the previous customer was complaining about. You need to improve service and the maintenance of your facilities, with new developments coming to mumbles I would think that this would surely jeopardise your survival. Please step up your game. I will not be visiting Theo's again.
