Just love the King Arthur. Went for lunch yesterday. We had our favourite seat and the food as always, was outstanding, topped only by the service. Our young waitress was so friendly and efficient and the south African young barman as accommodating as ever. Thank you all. We will be back soon. John and Annette Chappell.

Amazing place to stay. Beautiful buildings, well furnished, exceptionally clean and well decorated. All staff committed to ensuring our comfort. I was made to feel as welcome as others despite my disabilities with staff going above and beyond to assist me in any way possible. Our stay was only for 2 nights for an extremely well planned and delivered wedding, so we will be returning next year. A long 8 hour journey to get there, but worth every mile. Food was very well cooked with personal preferences or dietary needs catered for. The location was superb in the hills with the added bonus of the sheep roaming in the car park trying to get to the well kept gardens. Definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Everything was absolutely fab. The staff were so polite and friendly and couldn't do enough. Very accommodating to older family members allowing earlier entry to rooms to get out of the cold. (Not pre booked bedrooms) room 2 was lovely with a pretty view overlooking the gardens, double bed and a single made the room small for entry but didn't take away the comfort or cleanliness of the room. I would happily stay there again and intend on doing so in the future. Can't speak for the breakfast as I missed that, totally my fault for enjoying the wedding too much :)

Attended a family wedding end of August, but also stayed for a week in one of the attached cottages. Firstly, the wedding was fantastic! Staff were so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable - nothing was too much trouble. The organisation on the day we excellent, the food and service excellent - couldn't fault anything from start to finish. The venue was amazing - the from the room for the ceremony, reception and evening event, to the beautiful grounds and outside seatings areas. We were fortunate enough to have great weather so were able to use all the facilities. The cottage itself certainly deserved a 5 star rating. It was fantastically well equipped and stunning views from the main bedroom, complimented by the lovely balcony with table and chairs accessed via fence doors from the bedroom. Have already booked to stay again in January.

We came to the King Arthur Hotel for our honeymoon meal and we were not disappointed. The hotel/restaurant is absolutely stunning and in such a beautiful setting. The staff in the restaurant in particular a young lady who served us for the evening were so friendly, happy, attentive. The young lady gave that personalised touch and really is a member of staff to value. Our food was absolutely delicious. The taste was incredible, and the portion sizes were great. We can't wait to come back again. Already looking at special occasions ahead to book. Thank you so much for making our honeymoon so special.

We met our friends and their family who were staying at one of the King Arthur’s cottages in Reynoldston. The cottage was absolutely beautiful and overlooked the back of the King Arthur. After drinks we decided to eat at the King Arthur and we were unable to find an inside table so we ate on the picnic tables on the front piece of land. Luckily it was just about warm enough at 7pm to do this. There were 8 of us but two picnic tables together were big enough for us all. The food came out in good time and everyone seemed happy with what they had. Typical pub fare. I had the vegetarian curry, a very unusual choice for me as I would not normally order a curry in a pub but I wanted something vegetarian and that was the only option I fancied. The burgers looked really good. The cheese wasn’t on one of the cheeseburgers orders for the only child with us so this had to be rectified by the staff. It was extremely busy as there was a post funeral gathering going on and the roads around the pub were jammed with funeral goers looking for somewhere to park - the pub had put a sign up stopping more cars entering the car park so we did struggle to park the car. There is only one space available when renting the cottage. I actually prefer the King Arthur in winter when it is less crowded and there are fewer tourists but I suppose it is testament to the pub’s popularity that it gets so busy, combined with the lack of other places to eat and drink in that area. If you’re going to eat there during holiday time in any season then do book ahead for the restaurant. The bar, which is far nicer than the restaurant, doesn’t take bookings unfortunately so it’s pot luck!

We spent a couple of nights in the self-catering cottage annex of the hotel called Guinevere's Cottage. At first glance the cottage is very nice but we were told when checking in that we were not allowed to park next to it to unload our luggage. Instead we had to park in the main car park and do several trips from there. Not ideal as there was room for us to park right outside the cottage entrance had we been allowed to. The cottage is located close to the hotel kitchen which has a huge and noisy extractor fan which runs from around 7am. We were hoping that it would be turned off after they finish serving food at 9pm, but they keep it running until almost 11pm when they finish cleaning down the kitchen. The cottage has a central heating system with the boiler in a cupboard on the landing, close to the bedroom. The system obviously needs a service as the radiators never really get hot despite the fact that the boiler seems to be on constantly. If you're struggling to get to sleep after the extractor fan goes off, the boiler can be heard firing up every few minutes during the night. When we tried to clean our teeth before going to bed we found that the cold water tap of the bathroom sink didn't work. It was too late to report it to reception. The next morning we were disturbed very early by someone jet-washing the pavement outside our cottage. Shortly after this someone else was cleaning the area with a leaf-blower and a load of debris was blown under the door and into the cottage. The cottage was not particularly clean. Obviously It had been cleaned regularly but you could easily see the areas that were regularly missed due to the accumulated dust build up under the electric fire and the TV stand. There was also a fair amount of dusty cobwebs on show, particularly above the curtain rails. There was only one tiny mirror upstairs which was fitted too high above the hair-dryer point to be of any use to anyone under 6' tall. My wife needed to dry her hair so we had to carry the mirror from above the hearth and a chair from downstairs to stand it on, up to the bedroom. The car park had 2 EV charging points they were constantly blocked by non-EVs. Although I complained to reception I was told this was a regular occurrence. We were unable to charge our EV during our stay. On the positive side. All of the staff were lovely and very accommodating and the breakfasts were excellent!

Have eaten here before and came back as enjoyed last time. Had the roast dinner, leg of lamb, as did my wife, wasn’t sure what meat it was to be honest, very bland, this however is not the reason for writing the review. I found a hard sharp piece of plastic in my food, luckily I didn’t eat it and put it to the side. I mentioned this to the waitress and she informed the managers, who both said they couldn’t understand how it had gotten into my food as they don’t use plastic in the kitchen. I felt they were implying it couldn’t be from the kitchen so maybe I had put it there. I wasn’t looking for compensation as I had already eaten most of my dinner, just wanted them to be aware as the outcome could have been worse if a child or older patron were to accidentally have swallowed.. I feel it was badly handled by the management and needless to say I won’t be returning, which is a shame as I was potentially looking at booking for NY and staying in their accommodation.

The food was good but there was a limited menu and they would serve specials outside so we were limited to the main menu. We had the veggie burger which was nice and great chips. I would go back. My daughter and son-in-law, held their wedding here in June. What makes the King Arthur stand out amongst the others is that every wedding looks entirely different , its not a mirror image of someone else's. They go above and beyond to make sure the day is yours. As a retired wedding photographer, I've attended many weddings, this venue and its staff go above and beyond to make each wedding unique. The new outdoor wedding area is beautiful, and so photogenic. Food, drinks and guest accommodation were all 5 star excellent. The bridal suite is classy! We have been going to the King Arthur for about 15 years when on holiday in the Gower. The garden outside and the setting is stunning and we have always had good food. But not yesterday. We were really disappointed with the food. We had four meals and all were very poor. I had a pie and am pretty sure the meat and gravy were from a tin. None of us finished our meals and didn't feel great afterwards. It's always a disappointment when spending money for meal out but particularly here when we have had such great food over the years. We would very sadly be reluctant to return for our pre-journey meal next year.

After reading the reviews online and seeing the countless awards and nominations on your website I was very much looking forward to enjoying a Sunday roast last weekend for a friend’s birthday. First of all I cannot fault the feel of the bar and restaurant and the beautiful location in which the hotel is located. However unfortunately the roast did not meet expectations at all, 3 ordered lamb and one beef, if I’m honest you couldn’t tell which was which, all the meet was sliced wafer thin, the beef was really stringy as was the lamb was tough. As the Welsh can be know for their quality meat this was a disappointment considering being surrounded by sheep and cows all over the Gower, the dish of side vegetables could do with cheering up a bit as came to the table looking sad and dry, new potatoes need to be tossed in butter and seasoned at the very least. As three were having lamb we asked for mint sauce, (big mistake) unless you like water and vinegar with a few mint leaves chucked in. ( all in all it kinda felt very much school canteen quality). There were some good bits though; the staff were friendly and service was excellent, the deserts and starters were fantastic, although just a foot note it would be nice if the bread portions with the starters are bigger than the butter portion that accompanies them. If back in the area I would come back however probably try something off the other menus.

The food was delicious, the grounds stunning & bedrooms spotlessly clean. There is not one single thing we’d change about our wedding at King Arthur it was honestly the best day of our lives. Our lovely coordinator Zoe was fantastic and on the day she was incredible. It was raining and they had no indoor facility for taking dogs into, when we wanted to have a meal. I imagine at this time of year the pub is missing out on a lot of financial gain because they don't allow dogs into the premises. We left.

A great country hotel. Well located for many Gower attractions. The staff are extremely polite and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. My room was basic, but it was clean and well appointed. Breakfast was superb and set me up for the day. Will definitely return.

Wonderfully relaxing weekend at The King Arthur Hotel. Excellent food with ample portion sizes; our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable; Service was efficient and the staff very attentive. Will definitely be returning.

First ignore all the negative feedback. That’s their opinion. However, our experience was WOW. The staff are very pleasant and respectful on arrival parking was easy and free. The bar and the staff are great, and we felt relaxed. The room was spotless and very comfortable. The breakfast was amazing and the young lady that served us was a credit to king Arthur hotel. We fell in love with the king Arthur hotel. we are returning in April 2024. Big thank you to everyone. Thank you to Alex for the extension lead and fan! 😉 Mark and Layla.

We had a fantastic time at The Cwtch on Saturday for our Christmas event. There was a great selection of drinks, plenty of space to dance and sit, and everything was spotless. The staff were great, there were no long bar queues, and the photo booth was a lovely bonus! Thanks for a lovely night! X

Great place for a sunny afternoon, beautiful seating down by the ford. We suffered two punctures so stopped off to find an inner tube at the bike shop. We were disappointed to find the bike shop was closed so we instead bought some of the fantastic ciders and set about with a puncture repair kit instead. The cider made it worth the stop!
