We stayed (again) in an apartment as we had dogs. The standard of accommodation was excellent, as was attention to detail re facilities and equipment. Really comfy beds and fantastic views from lounge and kitchen. Excellent location for exploring all the fantastic beaches and coastal paths that Gower has to offer. When we needed to speak to staff regarding anything, they were extremely helpful and friendly - nothing was too much trouble. Looking forward to staying again next year.

Possibly the worst Sunday roast I’ve ever had. Being in Wales I decided to have the lamb which came Luke warm and thinly sliced and tasteless. It reminded me of bad School dinners. The roast potatoes were not roasted properly and also just about warm, the crackling on the pork my partner ordered was rubbery beyond measure, the gravy oily and bland, the cauliflower burnt at the edges and the side order of veg contained a few potatoes, some awful looking cabbage that had been thrown in on top of some peas. Truly truly awful

We visited King Arthur Hotel during our stay in Swansea over Christmas, specifically for their lunchtime menu. The building and rooms are traditional cottage themes and feels very homely. From the menu, some of our favourites were the Cockerels, Laverbread and Bacon starter. It was packed with flavour and I found it to be quite a unique dish. The rack of lamb was also delicious, but the meat was quite tough. The desserts were spectacular however. The brownie was rich in flavour and the ginger pudding was very generous. All dishes were a decent portion size and well worth the cost. I highly recommend stopping by King Arthur Hotel when you're visiting Swansea and Gower, if not for the hotel then for the food alone.

(Not pre booked bedrooms) room 2 was lovely with a pretty view overlooking the gardens, double bed and a single made the room small for entry but didn't take away the comfort or cleanliness of the room. Staff were so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable - nothing was too much trouble. The organisation on the day we excellent, the food and service excellent - couldn't fault anything from start to finish. The venue was amazing - the from the room for the ceremony, reception and evening event, to the beautiful grounds and outside seatings areas. We were fortunate enough to have great weather so were able to use all the facilities. The cottage itself certainly deserved a 5 star rating. We met our friends and their family who were staying at one of the King Arthur’s cottages in Reynoldston. The cottage was absolutely beautiful and overlooked the back of the King Arthur. After drinks we decided to eat at the King Arthur and we were unable to find an inside table so we ate on the picnic tables on the front piece of land. Luckily it was just about warm enough at 7pm to do this. There were 8 of us but two picnic tables together were big enough for us all. The food came out in good time and everyone seemed happy with what they had. Typical pub fare. I had the vegetarian curry, a very unusual choice for me as I would not normally order a curry in a pub but I wanted something vegetarian and that was the only option I fancied. The burgers looked really good. The cheese wasn’t on one of the cheeseburgers orders for the only child with us so this had to be rectified by the staff. It was extremely busy as there was a post funeral gathering going on and the roads around the pub were jammed with funeral goers looking for somewhere to park - the pub had put a sign up stopping more cars entering the car park so we did struggle to park the car. There is only one space available when renting the cottage. I actually prefer the King Arthur in winter when it is less crowded and there are fewer tourists but I suppose it is testament to the pub’s popularity that it gets so busy, combined with the lack of other places to eat and drink in that area. If you’re going to eat there during holiday time in any season then do book ahead for the restaurant. The bar, which is far nicer than the restaurant, doesn’t take bookings unfortunately so it’s pot luck!

We spent a couple of nights in the self-catering cottage annex of the hotel called Guinevere's Cottage. At first glance the cottage is very nice but we were told when checking in that we were not allowed to park next to it to unload our luggage. Instead we had to park in the main car park and do several trips from there. Not ideal as there was room for us to park right outside the cottage entrance had we been allowed to. The cottage is located close to the hotel kitchen which has a huge and noisy extractor fan which runs from around 7am. We were hoping that it would be turned off after they finish serving food at 9pm, but they keep it running until almost 11pm when they finish cleaning down the kitchen. The cottage has a central heating system with the boiler in a cupboard on the landing, close to the bedroom. The system obviously needs a service as the radiators never really get hot despite the fact that the boiler seems to be on constantly. If you're struggling to get to sleep after the extractor fan goes off, the boiler can be heard firing up every few minutes during the night. When we tried to clean our teeth before going to bed we found that the cold water tap of the bathroom sink didn't work. It was too late to report it to reception. The next morning we were disturbed very early by someone jet-washing the pavement outside our cottage. Shortly after this someone else was cleaning the area with a leaf-blower and a load of debris was blown under the door and into the cottage. The cottage was not particularly clean. Obviously It had been cleaned regularly but you could easily see the areas that were regularly missed due to the accumulated dust build up under the electric fire and the TV stand. There was also a fair amount of dusty cobwebs on show, particularly above the curtain rails. There was only one tiny mirror upstairs which was fitted too high above the hair-dryer point to be of any use to anyone under 6' tall. My wife needed to dry her hair so we had to carry the mirror from above the hearth and a chair from downstairs to stand it on, up to the bedroom. The car park had 2 EV charging points they were constantly blocked by non-EVs. Although I complained to reception I was told this was a regular occurrence. We were unable to charge our EV during our stay. On the positive side. All of the staff were lovely and very accommodating and the breakfasts were excellent!

Have eaten here before and came back as enjoyed last time. Had the roast dinner, leg of lamb, as did my wife, wasn’t sure what meat it was to be honest, very bland, this however is not the reason for writing the review. I found a hard sharp piece of plastic in my food, luckily I didn’t eat it and put it to the side. I mentioned this to the waitress and she informed the managers, who both said they couldn’t understand how it had gotten into my food as they don’t use plastic in the kitchen. I felt they were implying it couldn’t be from the kitchen so maybe I had put it there. I wasn’t looking for compensation as I had already eaten most of my dinner, just wanted them to be aware as the outcome could have been worse if a child or older patron were to accidentally have swallowed.. I feel it was badly handled by the management and needless to say I won’t be returning, which is a shame as I was potentially looking at booking for NY and staying in their accommodation.

What makes the King Arthur stand out amongst the others is that every wedding looks entirely different , its not a mirror image of someone else's. They go above and beyond to make sure the day is yours. As a retired wedding photographer, I've attended many weddings, this venue and its staff go above and beyond to make each wedding unique. The new outdoor wedding area is beautiful, and so photogenic. Food, drinks and guest accommodation were all 5 star excellent. The bridal suite is classy! We stayed in Guinevere’s Cottage, it did not disappoint. Had basic amenities we needed where we spent the day and night during my sisters wedding. The staff were great, polite and Jo the wedding planner couldn’t have done a better job. The venue is a great place, looking forward to visiting again soon.

Excellent food and service , there were nine of us all together and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Well I had the chicken curry half rice and chips and it was one of the best curries I've had in a long time,( my compliments to the chef) and the others had steaks also other dishes which they all enjoyed .

We have been going to the King Arthur for about 15 years when on holiday in the Gower. The garden outside and the setting is stunning and we have always had good food. But not yesterday. We were really disappointed with the food. We had four meals and all were very poor. I had a pie and am pretty sure the meat and gravy were from a tin. None of us finished our meals and didn't feel great afterwards. It's always a disappointment when spending money for meal out but particularly here when we have had such great food over the years. We would very sadly be reluctant to return for our pre-journey meal next year.

Amazing food again here. Considering they had a wedding in the back and a full dining room of people in the restaurant, you wouldn't have known. Staff were so attentive, a real credit to the King Auther. The food was amazing, very tasty and great portions overall a lovely pub with nice ales on. We walked here from Three Cliffs campsite and it was a brilliant day out.

I recently had a baby shower here at The Cwtch and it was perfect in every way! The Afternoon Tea package was phenomenal value for money and everyone that attended said how beautiful it all tasted (the presentation was fantastic too!) Thank you to everyone at The Cwtch for being so kind, accommodating and chirpy!

Great place for a sunny afternoon, beautiful seating down by the ford. We suffered two punctures so stopped off to find an inner tube at the bike shop. We were disappointed to find the bike shop was closed so we instead bought some of the fantastic ciders and set about with a puncture repair kit instead. The cider made it worth the stop!

I had visited a number of times but sadly not again. Had to decline my friends invitation to meet there on Wednesday. I was half an hour early and my friend was a little late. I was asked to move tables twice which was fine however Sadly customer service for me was not so positive, my meal was late even though I'd ordered before my friend and when I went to pay for my meal as I was told bluntly that next time I shouldn't be early. There won't be a next time!
