Booked over the phone to the lovely lady who i could hear confirming time with the owner for 4 people . On arrival the owner stated that he had no knowledge of my call basically calling me a liar. I showed him the call on my phone and told him that we have eaten numerous times here which he acknowledged but even still he smirked and told us there were no tables. No sorry or trying to explain just smirked when I said his customer service was terrible that he was quick to take our money but not quick to resolve problems which was caused by them. The owner was so rude,very unprofessional a side which we had never seen before. Needless to say we will not be returning. Terrible attitude and customer service.

Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant, double booked us and was so rude about it, no apologies nothing so we went to the Alegria Italian which was Soo nice 👍 made our night

Everything was truly amazing! We ordered a platter of deluxe zen starters which was good. The Prawns with Coconut and cream was AMAZING! The staff was wonderful and served the sizzling chicken in quite a fashion. The dessert was filling and was just a perfect end. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone who loves Asian food.

Nice service but most of the food was poor quality or poorly executed. The crispy duck wasn’t crispy and didn’t shred. The Thai green curry was dreadful with swishy washy sauce and overcooked chicken. Sea bass with ginger and spring onion was average. For a restaurant with the reputation. It has incredibly poor.

We had pre booked (on the day) as we needed wheelchair access and accessible toilet …which the restaurant has. They have a folding ramp to get chair into restaurant but this was quickly provided and did the job. The food was tasty and there was a good choice of Thai and Chinese food. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Good value and busy for a Tuesday night!

I ordered a takeaway on a Sunday evening. The food was bland and poor value. I won’t recommend and won’t be going back. From the reviews here, it sounds like the eat-in customers fare much better.

Easy to see why it is voted one of the best restaurants in the North West. Food is excellent.

Amazing as usual! Come here a lot and never disappoints. Menu is very well labelled as I am vegan and have a nut allergy. Very clear what I can have. And super tasty as ever.

We went this evening for tea, very Salty soup , tasteless overpriced food, miserable staff. The worst meal ever, colourless tasteless warm food, We had set menu. When I told the waiter it was the worst meal I ever had he laughed out of embarrassment.

Fillet steak sizzler - supposedly. Couldn't eat one piece of it, all too fatty for fillet. Only when the plates were removed did the waiter ask if all ok. I told him and he agreed he didn't like fatty meat either. Still charged for it. Service terrible, paid bill and whilst waiting for a printed receipt, another waiter came and put the bill amount in his machine to pay again. They also sat us at one table then moved us to another, and 2 different waiters brought the same drink order. Shabby.

After reading all of the reviews thought this place needed a visit… absolutely the worst experience of Chinese food I ever experienced.

Have been here a couple of times and wasn't let down. For the main I had a mixed meat with chilli sauce dish and egg fried rice, but the sauce was a bit watery. I notice the menu says they don't use MSG which perhaps explains it, but excuse me, that's a bit like a chip shop saying they don't provide salt and vinegar. It could be a worse condemnation but the flavour of that and the starter were great. I would return definitely but I do also enjoy the more proletarian variety of E. Asian food. The staff were very attentive and polite hence the 5 stars.

This was extremely disappointing, for the money we paid £70..We are on a wks holiday and had, been out for the day and decided, too get a takeaway frm Zen's, it was absolutely disgusting, the salt and pepper pieces were raw and the colour of the batter was white,instead of brown. The chips were disgusting they weren't cooked and the curry sauce was like water. I feel like we've been completely ripped off and will never eat or advise anyone too go. It was such a disappointment on our holidays. Will definitely not be back.

Great Thai / Chinese if unusually high quality and refinement for a very correct price. Id you are not bound by habit, don't hesitate to try the chef's specialties.

Been here a couple of years ago when staying at St Anne’s so as we were staying again booked in and we wasn’t disappointment. Food and service were both excellent and we extremely enjoyed our night.

Awful not much not cooked fine soup noodles warm, soaked in soy sauce reformed chicken cabbage stalks. Like a starter, meal only looked good on the menu, very inadequate. Needs gordon ramsay to uncover wot using instead of real meat. Totally unacceptable very disappointed. Ruined my birthday.....very upsetting..... so over priced .....wont go again

Lovely meal at this Thai Chinese restaurant. Had the red and masaman curries for mains. Both enjoyable. The masaman one is mild if you can't stand the heat. The red was spicy and cooled a little further, as per her request, for my partner but still spicy enough. Starters were salt and pepper prawns, delicious and pork sui mai (dumplings) nice.

We love coming here, most wonderful staff, who go the extra 'smile' to make sure you are having the best meal and dining experience. They helped to make our 25th wedding anniversary meal out that little bit more special. Menu is sensibly priced, really good value, and everything we tried tasted superb.

Me and my wife yesterday went to Zen . It was very busy I have read some of the disappointed reviews. If it so bad why is it so busy we have been meny times we can not fault it at all service good food very tasty we have never seen eny one complain about everything

An amazing restaurant that is beautifully decorated. The food is always amazing and the staff are super lovely.

This is possibly the best Chinese/Thai restaurant on the Fylde. The food was excellent and plentiful plus the service was impeccable. We went for our anniversary and had 3 courses plus a drink. If you are looking for a top quality place to eat then I recommend here.

Really nice food and friendly service. Would highly recommend eating here if you like Chinese / Thai cuisine. Can recommend the fried rice dishes and also the curries. My partner is vegan and vegan selection is very tasty great mock duck 🦆 The food was so nice we had to get a follow up takeaway whilst in St Anne's. The quality of the takeaway food was just as nice. Can't wait to go back and enjoy the food again, definitely eat here if you can :)

An Excellent Evening. Was a little worried as this was our first visit to Zen and the last few reviews haven't been good. We arrived and were promptly taken to our table and drink orders given. These arrived soon after along with menus. I ordered Dim Sum for one and there was plenty of choice, all delivered hot and beautifully cooked. My wife had vegetarian skewers and she really enjoyed these. Main course for me was Chinese Special Curry which was a little on the spicy side and my wife had Vegetarian Pad Thai which was a healthy portion. We also shared Egg Fried Rice and Salt & Pepper Chips. Even though we were slightly full we were enjoying the food so much we opted to order a dessert. Both of us enjoyed a nice slice of Honeycomb Cheesecake washed down with a Cappuccino and Americano with Hot Milk. Everything we ordered was delicious, service was excellent and the atmosphere was such that everyone was enjoying their evening with excellent choices of food. Upon leaving we noticed a large framed photograph of Samuel L Jackson enjoying the hospitality of Zen. If its good enough for Hollywood stars then it's definitely good enough for us.

I went to Zen with 2 friends to celebrate Christmas. We ordered the set menu and the soup was ok. The duck was served on a plate that looked like it had been thrown at the wall before serving. I ordered the sizzling steak with an extra £4.90 supplement charge. It was honestly disgusting i took one mouth full and left it, it was like chopped up dog food. My friend had seafood and she left most of it which is not like her. When the lady came to collect the plates i told her how bad the steak was and she just took the plate and went away. when i asked for the bill, the man came over and took payment and i stated again i didn’t eat any of my main cos it was so bad, to which he rudely came back to me saying why did you not say before! Which i did to his colleague but she didn’t do anything. I would have brought this to a waiters attention earlier if we could get any attention from the staff we had one drink the whole time we was in there because they were no where to be seen. Bad food and even worse customer service will not be returning g

Very disappointed after an excellent first visit in April. Duck starter arrived at the table luke warm and our king prawn main course vegetables were raw (not Aldente) !! Our Satay main course was tasteless and the Chicken was tough/overcooked. Generally the food served was below standard and on bringing it to the attention of the management our concerns were dismissed. What a shame, won’t be back !!!

The Zen has always been one of our favourite restaurants we have been going for a few years. We have recommended this restraunt to lots of friends and family absolutely loved it. We went 3 weeks ago and wow what a disappointment, we always have the banquet we compared the pictures tp our last visit, the soup was half full and watery, the starter platter the chicken has shrunk, the mains the prawns are not as big as they used to be and the rice used to come with nuts raisins etc and this time it came plain in a small bowl. We left still hungry. I understand everything has risen in price but maybe put your price up rather than reduce the quality. I asked the waitress and she said we should of told them what rice we wanted...why would we when it's always been the same. Honestly we was not impressed and will not be returning, very disappointed.

Went on the excellent reviews, a party of 4,unfortunately left very disappointed with the whole experience, service very rushed, some of our food was over spicy, Definitely won't be going again to Zen.

My husband and I have really enjoyed meals here some years ago and I wanted to go again to celebrate my birthday. We got a nice table as requested but , apart from one lady who we assumed was in charge,staff were disinterested and just going through the motions - clearly more interested with ‘regulars’. We didn’t feel welcome despite our efforts to engage with staff and the service was almost off hand. We selected from ‘a la carte’ menu and had a good starter and whilst I enjoyed steamed seabass my husband’s chicken was almost rubbery and he couldn’t eat it. When the server collected the plates and asked in an automated fashion how food was there was no reaction when he mentioned the chicken. We had ice cream for desert and paid bill but whilst waiting for taxi owner asked how meal was just laughed when my husband explained we’d had lovely experience previously but the chicken was rubbery this time. Very disappointed and we won’t be visiting there again.

We had checked in at a nearby hotel and decided to venture out for a wander, and were about to settle on Wetherspoon's when we spotted this little place. Always a good sign when a place is busy at 6pm on a Wednesday in the off season, and they although we hadn't booked, they were happy to fit the two of us in. Led to a quieter table up towards the back, no problem. Went for the two course option at 16 quid or so. Good selection on there, but the BBQ pork with Thai chilli and spices was terrific. Very quick and attentive service and we'll chilled beer, everyone very friendly-- if we were locals, this would be a go to. Thank you very much!

Great Chinese among the best I've had! Lovely waitresses and thank you for choosing a table to make my mobility issues easier for me on Friday night last. Patron parking possible on their forecourt. Will definitely visit again if in Lytham.

Not our first visit to Zen and it won't be the last I hope. The staff are friendly and welcoming from the start. Of course the food is the star here. I have had the rendang a couple of times and can heartily recommend it if you like flavour with a kick. The starters are just the right amount to set you up. My colleagues had other dishes including the massuman curry and there were no complaints. The fresh vegetables dish was crisp and flavoursome. If it's good enough for Samuel L Jackson is good enough for me.

Really pleasant meal - went on a Friday night. It wasn’t too busy and the service was very prompt. Main dish of sambal was good - not as spicy as the menu suggested, and the sticky rice was over cooked but still quite tasty. The starters were good but chicken satay was light on the sauce and the pork nori rolls were tiny and not really worth the cost. Overall we had great service and it mostly tasted nice but perhaps a little bit pricey for what it was.

An amazing place and right in the centre of town near the hotels. Excellent food and service in comfortable and stylish surroundings. Easily accessible for those with mobility issues, a great selection of wines and beers to accompany the gorgeous food. Visit if you’re staying locally, you won’t be disappointed.

We had a takeaway, we had a portion of chicken wings, which consisted of three wings, poor value, we then had a chicken curry which was paltry to say the least, this cost £19.80 we were done

Beautifully decorated and the food was fast to arrive and delicious. Reasonably priced, we will be back next time we holiday up that way.

Good Service, nice food, exciting flavours,no Grumbles

Went on a Friday night , service I thought was slow 20 minute wait fir drying to come & 30 minutes to take food order. Once it was ordered , food came no problem, food was nice.

Best Chinese and Thai I've had for a long time. Everything tasted fresh and wasn't oily like some places. A little pricey (compared to my local) but was worth it and the staff were great and banter was on point. Highly recommend if you're in the area.

We've been a few times, and it has always been marvellous. I suffer from an unusual serious allergy (chicken). The staff have always been very lovely about it, checking with the kitchen and trying to accommodate me. Absolutely lovely service from the boss at our last visit ( we tried to have a few different items from the menu), he must have been back and forth to the kitchen five times to ask about my allergy! Yet he never stopped smiling. no impatience at all (it turns out most of the menu items have some form of chicken/stock incorporated). We ended up joking with him about me being still alive (just my sort of humour). The food we did end up ordering was great, spiced to perfection. A big shout-out to the Zen! I just wish I could taste all of your menu items, here's to pork stock in the future ;) Thanks guys!

Weather not great but glad love Zen best Chinese in St Annes. Had the Salt & Pepper Squid which was so good really tasty June had the Pork Balls which she enjoyed & had the Sizzler of Fillet Steak with Mushroom & Garlic which was tasty & I had Filet Steak Sizzler in Spicy Black Pepper Sauce & boiled rice which was fantastic washed down with a bottle of Magners & a Calypso Coffee excellent meal with fantastic friendly staff

Love this restaurant we always visit when in town. I had sizzling beef in black pepper sauce which was fantastic, my other half had prawns to start and teriyaki beef fillet for main. Cannot fault it, lovely family restaurant.

Called here one evening for dinner. Whilst the service was decent enough, I couldn't really see what all the hype was about. Food was tasty enough, but was nothing to write home about. Starters were great, but the mains less so. Might visit again and give it a second try.

Authentic delicious food served with professionalism in comfortable surroundings. We have eaten there twice and each time it was exceptionally good on all aspects.

We ordered a takeaway of spring rolls, prawn toast, chicken fried rice and soft noodles at a cost of over £26 collection only. Although the food was very good, the rice and noodles were very very meagre / small portions, not good vale for money at all, hence the 1 star review.

We reserved a table online and had the confirmation. However, on arrival, there seemed to be an issue. We eventually got escorted to the back, which is fine. We then order the mixed starter for 1 to share Thai crackers and 2 beers. The Fishcakes were awful. We then ordered the massaman, which is a rich, sweet coconut creamy, dish with a power pack mix of flavours, like liquorice,cinnamon,star of anise, etc OMG 😲 what we got was beef stew and rice. Where is the flavour? What a massive disappointment, and we paid a whopping £53 for this.... If you are like us and love a good massaman, then look elsewhere. As the Zen restaurant in lythem St Annes is NOT a good place to pick.

This was my first visit to the Zen Restaurant for a takeaway meal. I ordered King Prawn with egg fied rice and Chicken Curry with chips. Took 3 minutes to drive home and chicken curry is luke warm the chicken is cold in parts, the onions are not cooked and crunchy and there are no chips. Instead they've given me rice. Tiny portions I definitely will not buy food from here again
