Excellent staff, fantastic service and the food is amazing. Highly recommended and we will definitely return, especially for the Welsh steak and beef pie!

I have used this public house for evening meals and Sunday lunch over 30 times now. On every occasion, the food and service have been excellent. I would strongly recommend this location for a meal. Sunday lunch is amazing, but book early to avoid disappointment. Well done, Christine and the team.

First visit, went on reviews. I can see why it is reviewed so very highly! Lovely place, staff are wonderful and the food (all 3 of us had a beef Sunday roast) was absolutely fantastic. The best one I've had that's not been done in a family kitchen. Miracle on the quality and taste of the food in what was a very busy Sunday service. If you're in or around Shrewsbury, you simply have to go and experience this place and the food. Value for money is ridiculously good, as the food is SO good. Thank you to all involved in the place who were working today.

Rang today hoping to get a table and we did ,we were out and about getting our flu jabs,I didn't fancy cooking so we took a chance,the meal was perfect as always and always made to feel welcome 🤗.

The Pub is very nice, the staff were all very friendly and attentive. They are dog and child friendly. We all had Sunday roasts which were delicious!

We have eaten here regularly and will continue to do so. The food is delicious and the specials menu is changed frequently. All the staff are very friendly and I feel fortunate to have it as a local pub.

A really lovely venue with a warm atmosphere. My partner and I had a beef Sunday Roast each and we couldn't fault it. Along with 7 types of veg (including a beautiful cauliflower cheese), there was a huge, homemade yorkshire and the beef was cooked perfectly. Great job and we shall return.

We went for Sunday Lunch and had three courses meals. Love the Tempura Squid coated in thin crispy batter. The Chicken Liver § Brandy Parfait was creamy. Absolutely delicious. Roasted beef was tender and juicy and perfect with Yorkshire pudding. Banoffee pie was fantastic too. Thumbs up 👍 What we order: {3 courses lunch - £26} There are: 1 course- £16 and 2 courses- £21 STARTERS: Tempura Squid Chicken Liver § Brandy Parfait MAIN: Roasted Beef Roasted Pork with Crackling DESSERTS: Cheesecake Banoffee pie (Reservation recommended-We went for dinner without reservation and it’s fully booked)

An absolutely top-notch country pub, just outside Shrewsbury, specialising in Sunday Lunches and special nights. Before we go inside, it offers unbundant car-parking spaces and a picturesque outside easting area with picnic-style tables. Just inside the entrance is a glass-covered ancient well feature which fascinates children and adults alike. The food is of the highest quality and the attention that goes into the vegetables on your main plate is exceptional, let alone the additional table-shared vegatables that accompany the main dishes. Staff at The Yockleton Arms are overwhelmingly polite, sincere and will everything possible to find you a table even during their busiest of times. Absolutely perfect for special occasins like Mother's Day, Father's Day or anniversaries.

What a gem! We ordered the lamb Sunday roast, and it was delicious. The lamb was cooked ro perfectly. The cauliflower and broccoli cheese was scrummy! Great service. I'd book a table in advance as this place gets very busy!

We stayed here in our campervan using Britstops during our travels. We called the owner, who was so lovely on the phone telling us to arrive when we were ready. We parked up and went into the pub for a few drinks. Pub is gorgeous, and the atmosphere is very cosy with a country feel. Although we didn't eat here to food being served looked delicious. Later in the evening once the pub was closed we were struggling with signal in our van to watch the Fury fight, we went to their beer garden where the landlady and a couple of friends were enjoying a drink for the evening who said for us to make ourselves at home, get out drinks and relax for the night. Very very friendly would highly recommend a visit here.

Brilliant pub 🍻 we are visiting tomorrow and I will enjoy my 70th there too.

Great meal on 29th dec 2023 had the set Christmas dinner . We all loved it and staff very nice . Next year is a must go again and try Sunday lunch . Also going to book for next year Christmas dinner . Thanks to all .

An amazing pub loved every minute

We walked to this pub for a Sunday lunch whilst staying at Cartref camping.l a few miles away. Quite a tricky walk as not many paths. The food was delicious and served quickly (piping hot) Inside it’s very traditional - we will def go back

A lovely relaxed evening at the Yockleton Arms. The staff were friendly, polite & helpful. The ambiance was relaxed & cosy. The food was extremely good & piping hot. Scampi, chips & fabulous mushy peas for me & a thai curry for the other half. All delicious! I think we've found our new local!

I cannot recommend this lovely pub enough. Nothing is too much trouble for the licence's and the staff are super friendly, and helpful. The food is outstanding every time we have eaten here. I literally can’t find a single fault. I just wish we lived closer so we could come more often. We bring our motorhome over to meet friends and stay the night on the car park. It’s -3 tonight so I called ahead to see if there was any chance of an electric hookup. They happily plugged us in so that we had a cosy night sleep after our fabulous evening. Thank you Yockleton Arms, you’ve outdone yourselves again. Can’t wait for our next outing 🥂👏

Booked in for a Saturday night while up here for the weekend. Loveliest pub we’ve been to in ages. Fish tacos and parfait for starter and then both had chicken, ham and chorizo pie which was delicious. Very well looked after and food was lovely and hot

WOW to the new menu! The food, the service and the atmosphere was exquisite (and the all the synonyms and more)! Every member of staff was attentive. Being vegan the choices from starters, mains and puddings was sublime. I wish I took more photos but I couldn’t wait… We will be back!

Visited on Friday lunchtime with my two daughters, Aberdeen Angus burger, Katsu Chickn Burger, soup of the day and Crispy Chicken Ciabatta, absolutely delish! Great eighties music in tbe background, great friendly service. Highly recommend a visit.

Such a beautiful pub. We always eat outside, they have a massive field/beer garden so the kids take a ball and run around the entire time we're there. There is a patio area too. Inside is very cosy and always quite warm so if you go, I would dress for summer, hence why we sit outside. Food is gorgeous, service is excellent, the atmosphere is fantastic and theres plenty of parking. 👌 its definitely a place we feel comfortable going with the children as they can be free without annoying anyone. Definitely recommend.

Amazing portions, (also happy to do smaller on request for older people) plenty of vegetables - and extra gravy without needing to ask for it - just as my whole family likes it. Service was attentive but not overly. Nice selection of desserts and family friendly. Nice, comfy chairs!

Visited for Sunday lunch, as we were staying a short distance away. Excellent service from start to finish and a really good quality Sunday roast at a fair price. Would definitely return if we stay locally again. Decent beer and a quality wine list too. Definitely recommended.

Had our first ever proper English Sunday Roast. Very good food and a good price as well. They have traditional beef, pork and Turkey. We had the beef and the pork. Both were very good but the beef was better.

If I could give no stars I would I came in with 2 of my work colleagues and as soon as I walked in I could smell a very strong smell of damp witch may be coming from the well located in the entrance walkway we was only local and found this to be the first place that had popped up highly regret this choice the young lady behind the bar was very unprofessional talking away to a friend on her phone once she had finished on her phone she then proceeded to ask us what we would like to drink we received our drinks and sat down ready to order our food , the food came out and looked lovely at first glance but once I had tucked in it was clear to see the steak was very under cooked as I asked for it to be well done so I asked the lady if I could have it put back on the grill for a bit longer , 5 minutes later it came back out and again under cooked so i said I would not be eating the steak and would like a refund as I didn’t touch the food the staff was very very rude and gave me some very unwanted attitude I then said could I speak with a manager her reply was I am the manager if you don’t like the outcome then leave I have never been spoken to like this and I will not be returning and I suggest you avoid this place at all costs the photos do the place some serious justice this place needs shutting down I’ve seen cleaner skips the staff care more about there own looks then the restaurants presents please don’t waste your time !!!!!!! I’m sure I will receive a very unprofessional response along with a pack of lies please avoid !!!!!

Very disappointed, we were welcomed with the overpowering smell of damp and mould and we were the only customers there for 45 minutes. There also wasn’t much on the menu at all. My father and his family came to visit me after 5 years of not seeing him, the waiter had come to ask us how our food was after 2 minutes of it being on the table, which doesn’t really give anyone enough time to give judgement on our food. A few portions of chips were undercooked to which we told the manger at the end of the meal, the manager rudely said “you had your opportunity when asked how food was” which my partner didn’t even hear because the waiter was very quiet and clearly didn’t get a response from everyone on how food was. The manager then rudely took £1 off for 4 portions of chips, which definitely doesn’t add up then my partner was reluctant to only have £1 taken off as 4 portions doesn’t add up to the poor excuse of undercooked food. The manager then very rudely said “well how much do you want me to take off” which my partner was shocked by as we eat our most days and don’t get this sort of response from anyone which we found dreadful. She then only ended up taking £3 off which we aren’t bothered about the money but the principal. She then started acting really horribly towards paying customers and made us feel really unwelcome to the point we left and would’ve rather spent our money else where. We spent £155 all together and the atmosphere was dreadful. When I said I would leave a review on our experience, she just smiled rudely and went “you do that then” and walked off like we were dirt on the floor. My father went to the bathroom, and when he returned his half drunken beer was taken away which is rude in it self. The couple sat next to us also didn’t eat their chips because they were undercooked, which seems to be a regular occurrence. Definitely would not recommend, and would not waste my money here again. Also to add to this we had a baby with us who still isn’t really meant to sit in a high chair, but when I booked the restaurant was adamant that we could not take our pram in there with us, but instead that we had to put the baby in a high chair where there was more than enough room for a pram to go in the spot we were put in.

We had one of the best Sunday lunches we have had in a long time. The staff were amazing, really friendly and attentive. Overall a very good experience. Thoroughly recommend. We will be back, thank you.

Four of us went without booking and even though they were fully booked, they courteously offered us a seat at the bar. We accepted and had food at the bar. Food was fantastic. Service brilliant and staff accommodating. Prices great too. I very rarely leave reviews but felt this was deserving. Thank you.

Great find, middle of nowhere, went after googling, best decision. Really friendly and helpful staff, food amazing. Had goats cheese and beetroot panna cotta wow!! Lamb kofta, fish and chips out of this world. Definitely worth a visit 👍👍👍

Visited for Sunday lunch. Food was very good including the vegetarian choice. No vegan options on the menu. No children's menu available, but they did do smaller portions from the main menu. Only negative was when the waitresses cleared our plates without asking if we were finished (which we weren't) and then we felt rushed to leave. Would visit again however.

Formerly a pub, now hollowed out, extended and spacious with a big car park and plenty of outside tables. Fish and chips excellent and Hobsons ale in great nick.

Called in for Sunday lunch after seeing the reviews on Google. So pleased the girl behind the counter managed to squeeze us in,even if it was on a table outside. The food was absolutely fantastic and probably the best Sunday lunch we have ever eaten. Top quality food and plenty of it. A special mention for all the staff too,very attentive and super polite,my only regret is we don't live closer.

Stopped in for lunch, 5 adults, on our way into Wales. VERY recommended. Good food (all 5 dishes were polished off, high quality), good service, lovely relaxed vibe and setting.

An absolute gem!!! We happened across the pub on a Thursday night, which is when they do their Meal Deal- £12.95 for two courses, £16.95 for three. Tried the calamari, a roasted mushroom soup, the fish and chips, and the burger, all of which were absolutely delicious and very homemade !!! Loved the batter on the fish, which was light and flavourful, with top quality fish inside. Also tried the lemon posset, which was just ok. Friendly staff, great service, delicious food, fantastic prices- would absolutely recommend !!

Had a great meal here - everything cooked and presented fine.

Had an excellent lunch here, easily the best of the 4 local pubs we've eaten at this week. Freshly prepared tuna ciabatta with lovely homemade mushroom soup. Delicious homemade burger and fries, finished off with a Biscotti cheesecake. Good beers, nice decor and dog friendly, what more could you want?

We are staying locally at a campsite and wanted somewhere nice to go for a pub meal. We saw the reviews on here so decided to book for a midweek meal, so glad we did book as it was really busy. What a beautiful place in a lovely village, looks very new inside. Staff were excellent and the midweek special menu is amazing value. Definitely one to visit if you are in the area

On going away for a birthday weekend we decided to spend one of the evenings dining here and we are so glad that we did - the food was great and the staff were great, attentive without being overbearing with some great recommendations for food (and drinks). It really sold the area to us and should we be back I’m sure we would visit again!

Been here a few times but last night we celebrated my hubby's birthday, the staff were fab and very helpful as always. Food was top notch. Everyone enjoyed even the people who hadn't previously been all said food and staff were lovely.
