Gardiner's Fish & Chips in Shropshire

We were staying near by and called in for Fish and Chips, The foodwas really good, very tasty and the portion size was enormous. 3 people so fish and chips x 3 and the was enough for 5 people. also had a potato fritter, so nice I'm still thinking of it 2 weeks later I'd be back again but we were just visiting the area so don't know if we'll get the chance but if I'm passing anywhere near I'd make a detour. The staff were super friendly, chatting whilst we waited for the food to be freshly cooked. Proper fish and chip shop and totally recommend.

Best fish and chips 100% recommend. We were staying at Hadley Park campsite and went to get a big order for our group. The staff couldn’t do enough for me. They gave me paper and pen and helped me write down my order and prices so I could work out who owed what. They kept it all warm for me and gave me a big cardboard box to carry it all in. The portions were really big and delicious and well priced. Will definitely be visiting again.

Great fish and chips and no issue waiting for it with the dog. Had the extra spicy curry sauce but won’t do that again. Not too hot but best stick with the less hot one with fish and chips

The best Chippy in North Shropshire. Chips are absoloutley delicious. Gary and his staff are lovely and super helpful. The portions are decent, and the food is always nice and hot. The place is nice and clean and has a great local family atmosphere. 10/10 Parking, no problem. Benno.

Great fish and chips, very fresh fish, crispy batter, tasted great, it was as good as I have had anywhere. Very Friendly and quick service The shop was immaculately clean. Definitely recommend.

Whilst visiting family in the area we decided on a takeaway and we were not disappointed. One Haddock, one Cod with chips and mushy peas were the best we have had in a long time. The queue speaks volumes of the quality and quantity of the portions and the efficiency and friendliness of the staff. If we lived locally this would be our go to takeaway. Great little chippy. Friendly guy, big portions, reasonable prices. Lots know the menu, even a battered chocolate bar for dessert 😜 no parking but there is space outside plenty of people were stopping and parking on the yellow line. Quick service, fish cooked fresh to order

As the town centre was blocked off I diverted and found this chippy. Very welcoming staff and food freshly cooked. I had one of the lunchtime specials , Fish Chips mushy peas with a sausage Tremendous! Now a regular !

We moved to the area recently and discovered this hidden gem in Whitchurch. The quality of the fish here is one of the best in the area and always at a reasonable price. The owners work really hard and are very friendly with their customers. Show up early because a queue can start quick!

The chips were very greasy, I mean, very greasy. Nice fish and sausage, though.

long time regulars of Gardiner's, but after last weekend, we are never returning. We both had the same meal shared between us and we both started to suffer the worst food poisoning you could imagine a day later. This is the ONLY food that we BOTH shared so our doctor is saying it must be that as we both started symptoms at exactly the same time. It has put us off ever going back there now.

Having been placed on an enforced 6 week gluten-free diet I was so pleased to discover Gary cooks fish in gluten-free batter to order. The batter was so light and crispy (tempura-like) and wasn't in the slightest bit soggy even when I got it home. Delicious meal of fish and chips and cheerful friendly staff even on a gloomy cold November evening - thank you!

We don't eat fish & chips often, but when we do, we want to eat something worthwhile - this is that! Everything's really tasty and cooked well with very reasonable portion sizes. It's the only chip shop we go to, simple!

We were visiting Whitchurch for a day out and they threw in a free potato scallop for my vegetarian daughter - absolutely lovely staff and delicious food! I’ll be back!

Delicious fish and chips. I'm coeliac and you could tell straight away they had a good understanding of allergens separate fryers ect. We definitely did finish the large portion between us enjoyed them too much to provide photographic evidence 😅 Will definitely be back soon!!

They catered for coeliac disease really very well, all chips are gluten free and then separate fryers for other products either with or without gluten. They didn’t have any gluten free vinegar, but actually although the fish batter was heavy and mine was really greasy, the food tasted amazing and I didn’t feel like I was missing out too much.

I order 3 lots of fish and chips and everyone ate it all up it was delicious. My little boy had chicken nuggets and chips and he ate it all up as well I was high recommend you try it. The staff are very friendly

They advertise that they are open until 9.30pm, we walked across town and found them closed at 8.30pm. A long walk home with no food

I walked in after a long day at work (I travel a lot for work all over the country), the first thing that got my attention was the jovial and extremely characteristic and charming employee behind the counter. The quantity of food I received was pure brilliance and definitely worth the trip. When I got back to the place I was staying I was expecting the quality to a little less as the quantity was so high… Oh how I was wrong and I could never be any more wrong, I ended up over eating just to ensure nothing was wasted. (I couldn’t move for a good hour after) When I am next in the area again I am 100% hoping to pop in to enjoy the conversation and quality of the food provided.

Imo it’s the best chip shop in town, we travel from Wem to get ours. Lovely cooked food, always perfect with the most delicious fish. Very friendly service. Highly recommend 😁

By Far the Best, yes The Best Fish and Chips in Whitchurch! My only constructive feedback would be being open more and longer. Staff were fantastic attentive and interactive, the younger one would benefit from being more punctual and also being more polite but other than that Highly recommended.
