The Yew Tree, Ormskirk in West Lancashire

We absolutely love this place as a family.. child friendly, dog friendly, food is great and the beer is even better!!! The staff are so friendly and welcoming we couldn’t recommend this place enough. Live music nights are not to be missed!!!!

All food was great, no issues. Particularly enjoyed beef burger. Good selection of drafts. Would recommend.

It's a shame the new owners and chef are selling up. The food is amazing and the staff are really friendly and always meet you with a smile. I will miss this place if the new staff don't keep up with what the staff at the moment have got.

Not a bad place on the outside but run by a great family team, warm and friendly. Fantastic food, the mixed grill was cooked to perfection and presentation spot on a chef the landlord should be proud of, hopefully the brewery will spend some money on the place this place can go far with an investment.

I have fond memories of the yew tree from when I was a kid, we used to go with our nan and grandad almost every Saturday afternoon. You could not beat the quality of the food for the price back then, and they kept it the same for decades. Imagine my horror when I pulled up and saw a sign saying under new management. Unfortunately the yew tree has changed into a mid priced pub style restaurant, and it is no longer worth the money, such a shame

Excellent food. Had roast beef dinner. Beautifully cooked beef & great selection of vegetables. Competitively priced too. Also friendly welcome by staff.

Great meal and good proper beer, and...one of the best full rack of ribs for a long time. Good, no great pub food.

i whent in for a drink after work. 3 drinks later i was off, So late getting home lol bar staf are so nice i would of stayed but i had to get off. hope you all pop in x

We went to the Yew Tree for refreshments after a funeral and it turned into a wake. Good buffet, good drink, good staff. Made a sad day a memorable one, with friends and able to relax in a very friendly atmosphere.

Visited the Yew Tree today, what a treat. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the very relaxed atmosphere. Prices are amazing, as are the staff. Can't wait to go back.

Usually it's closed but when you eventually get in you'll find out that their "home cooked" food is actually tinned or microwaved food that they've boosted the prices up on. When you go in it has the same atmosphere as a carehome with the staff choosing to just stay behind the bar chatting to each other than serving customers. All in all the Yew Tree is somewhere to go if you want to buy something you can do at home in a minute and have food poisoning for dessert.

Lovely place. Massive portions of family friendly, pub classic food. This is not fine dining, but wholesome home cooking with huge portions for a ridiculously cheap price. Only thing to remember is it's a cash only place

Came here for tea which was lovely as ever and then were entertained by Ormskirk Ukulele band. Fab evening.

Inexpensive meal good quality for the price I had ham egg and chips.My husband had a mixed grill which he enjoyed.

Home made steak and kidney pie to die for

Food was lovely. Was a lovely experience until who I'm guessing was the manager took the salt and pepper of the table with out speaking to us, then when leaving said good bye and thank you to her and was completely ignored. Very rude

Like walking back in time this pub! Nice clean pub with a beautiful beer garden. The food is very cheap but it is not bad for the price.

The food is extremely good value for the money (a Mini grill being only £5.65). It's not 5* but for the money its excellent.

My wife and I went for a lunchtime meal and a drink. Great variety of guest beers along with a good menu. Excellent value for money on all counts including lovely 'home cooking' style tasty meals. Will call in again.

Like someone owns a time machine and went back to 1976 and retrieved all that was good from a simpler time and collated it within the walls of this establishment

Great food all made fresh to order ,all local produce used . Well worth the price. The manager put a great buffet on for new years eve with champagne to bring in the New year .all with no charge .Not many licences would do that.

While many pubs are becoming one of those chain ones, The Yew Tree remains independent and proudly local. It's a solid pub.

Very nice public house run in the ' old fashioned way ' but great value for money and quality home cooked food.

Excellent value (main & dessert or starter for the price of a just main meal elsewhere). Generous portions of quality home made food and beverages served by pleasantly friendly staff in a relaxing comfortable atmosphere. It's the only place we go to eat out when we stay at the Windmill Caravan Site in Lydiate, because we haven't had a bad meal in well over a 100 visits.
