The Yellow Deli in East Devon

Fantastic. Great food. Great service. Lovely cozy bright and sunny restaurant. Thank you for a great wholesome home cooked meal!

After a long workshop on a Sunday finding somewhere open that offered gf food and looked like it might be edible was a gift. To go in and be warmly welcomed, fed delicious cauliflower soup with a gf sandwich packed with sprouts, salad and hummus accompanied by good tea and a pickle was beyond my wildest dreams. I loved every mouthful. It was the perfect food - and just what I would made myself but better! Highly recommend this lovely place.

The Yellow Deli appears to be a Kosher Part-Vegetarian Restaurant in disguise! They were handing out Menus in the High Street so we took one intending to walk up there for Breakfast. Unfortunately, on further inspection of their Menu a Traditional Full English Breakfast is not possible at the Yellow Deli as Bacon and Sausages, in our opinion the Food of the Gods, are completely absent from the Menu, as is Ham. They do list some dishes containing Beef so they are not wholly Veggie. But for us it was back to the drawing board, a sharp about turn, and a quick visit to Zest for lots of lovely Bacon!

Great place. Fantastic fresh food and very friendly staff. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and every meal was first class!

We were looking for somewhere for lunch on our way from Essex to Cornwall on Boxing Day and Honiton is a good stopping point - delighted to find the Yellow Deli was open on a bank holiday. This quirky cafe is staffed by the friendliest group of people. Downstairs is cosy but upstairs is amazing with a light-filled gallery room. I had a delicious pastrami and sauerkraut rye sandwich. Coffee is really good. Do visit to support these guys!

What an amazing find. The décor is delightfully interesting, the staff are amazingly informative and interested in you from the beginning. The menu quirky and unusual and you can definitely see the American routes in within it. I had the Cranberry and cashew salad and my brother had a burger. Followed by the Deluxe Honey Bun. Fabulous and an amazing story behind the origins of the first Yellow Deli. Highly to be recommended. Till next time.

We are a group of friend who regularly meet up at the Yellow Deli every month. They never disappoint. Although the menu is a little limited, the food is always fresh and delicious and the service, outstanding. I love the decor, which was definitely done as a labour of love, and I'm sure we will happily continue to lunch there in the months to come.

Graet food and drinks and service and super value for money . The building has been lovingly and carefully renovated. The snag is being served by delightful but obviously cult like folk. There was not much recruiting going on but the whole place is an advert for the twelve tribes. I had to look them up when I got home but my religious cult alert went off at the point I walked in. I’m very wary but it wouldn’t put me off going back just good to be aware.

At first sight the menu is a little confusing and there are some obvious options missing from it. In hindsight this is presumably because the religious views of the group that runs it preclude any pork or shellfish. That said, what we did get was delicious and the service was very pleasant.

This restaurant is owned and managed by a cult called the 12 Tribes. Delicious fresh food, grown and prepared by children who are beaten!? Please google The Yellow Delhis (and the 12 tribes) before you consider giving this place your business. Good food, friendly staff and a very pretty place to eat but we made a decision never to return, out of principal, after reading about who they are and their values. Please, if you have any conscience whatsoever, read about who these people are before you consider eating here ever again.

Amazing! Welcoming, polite, endearing staff, spotlessly clean and great, wholesome menu. If only other places to eat could be like this one! Good value for money too. A pleasure to eat here.The sign above the door says "Please call again" and we most definitely will - THANKYOU! We didn't even mind that it is alcohol-free!

We went here today and had such a fantastic time! I got to use some of my (limited) Portuguese and it was a really lovely welcome! We sat upstairs in the beautiful sun room, we ordered a warm apple drink, a yellow submarine sandwich and a vegy burger, all absolutely delicious and very filling! Would love to have tried the cinnamon roll and the muffin but I’ll try those next time. Such a beautiful building, with very calm and friendly staff, really can’t wait to return!
