Recently moved to the area and myself and my partner wanted a date night . Woodside is so wonderful staff are amazing and make you feel at home would definitely recommend this place Will definitely be coming again

Lovely pub! Maddie is one of my favourite waitresses. Always so lovely and friendly. Sunday dinners are gorgeous. All the staff made a fuss of our puppy Margaret, very wholesome :).

Had a lovely evening with a couple of drinks in the bar followed by a really nice meal in the restaurant area. Lovely feeling in here and it accepts dogs in some areas. Highly recommended and the staff are great.

The food was absolutely delicious - came really quick, hot, fresh and the homemade pie was one of the best I’ve ever eaten. Sue served us and was friendly, helpful and just genuinely nice. Highly recommend 5*

We ate at the Woodside Thursday night and were very impressed with the decor and atmosphere. It isn’t the first time we’ve been but it has been a while. The starters were average but the mains (fish and chips and the lamb) were very nice, especially the lamb which was cooked to perfection and presented nicely. We ended with sticky toffee pudding which finished the meal off nicely. We were served by Maizey who was very polite and friendly, she made us feel welcome and was very accommodating. We can’t fault the service whatsoever so a big thank you to her, and we will be going back again in the future.

Booked for a 60th Wedding Anniversary. Waitress Kate was so lovely, nothing was too much trouble for her, so helpful. Food was to it's usual great standard. No complaints from any of the party. Had a really nice evening

Drinks ok food not to my taste its just a little lacking for the price.bthe coffee is terrible. Weak insipid cold with a layer of grease. We cancelled our breakfast order as there was not all available then coffee came and put us off.

Visited the Woodside today. The 3for £10 lite bites were excellent. Such good value. The Estrella beer is the best pint in the area. Worth a visit bar staff excellent food beer excellent.

Booked online which was very easy to do. When we arrived the weather was lovely so decided to sit outside (the outside seating were first come first serve). Easy booking via QR, really quick service. Dog friendly. Just such a lovely place for Sunday roast/gentle pub vibes with friends.

We visited as a large group as were served by Maizey. Lovely, friendly and professional service and Maizey couldn’t do enough for us to make our time at The Woodside perfect. All starters and mains were served hot and the wide range of dishes ordered are all recommended.

Lovely pub, excellently placed close to RHS Bridgewater. Decent pub food, generous portions, attentive staff. Lunch menu with good selection including vegan/vegetarian options. Would visit again.

Visited yesterday for a late lunch. Seated at a lovely table near an open window as it was very warm outside and the breeze was welcome. Waiting staff lovely and attentive, decor nice. Was a touch disappointed with the roast dinner. Roast potatoes not as descried and rubbery as though they had been waiting around for some time. Turkey was ok but I expected better. My partner had the three meats Sunday dinner and said the roast beef was lovely. Pudding took a while and had to be chased up. I had the banoffe choux bun which was nice but nothing special. My partner had coffee with the small pudding, he choose apple and blackberry crumble which as the perfect size. Would I come back? Probably not can't put my finger on why, perhaps because the meal was average I would say.

Honestly it was “bloody gorgeous” we really enjoyed our Sunday lunch. Thank you to Maizey and her team.

The menu and food quality is excellent. Great decor and atmosphere. Only down side is the vegetable side dish options, which we found quite limited.

Really disappointed for the second time unfortunately. The food is really overpriced for the quality that you get. Nothing is fresh or home made and you’re paying on average £16/£17.

Our favourite pub/place to eat locally. Faultless every time and the staff are so relaxed and friendly, it's like being with friends not staff. Highly recommend, and Janet has the loveliest and friendliest character....I only wish we could ask her to join us for a tipple!

Lovely place to enjoy in groups or couples. Food menu has something for everyone, timely service and tasty starters, mains and puds. I have been a couple of times now and sure we'll be back soon. Great efficient staff ensuring everyone gets their food to enjoy together.

From being greeted at the door to leaving, a very nice dining experience. I will say booking isn't always necessary but I would definitely advise it. The layout is cosy and intimate in a large place with nice decor, tables etc. Friendly staff took orders timely and food served promptly. Nice menu with something for all tastes. Not a typical menu but everything we had was very nicely presented and tasted fresh. Three cask ales on (Timothy Taylor's Landlord, Wainwrights, Doom bar) should you want good ale. It's not a cheap eats place but it is a quality place. The dessert menu offers mini desserts with coffee. Certainly after a starter and main it's a nice sweet finisher. We went in March '23 but with the extensive outdoor areas I can imagine it's a great summer pub where you can enjoy food and drinks outside Al fresco. Will definitely return

We booked online last minute and arrived at The Woodside within 25 minutes. We were taken to our table straight away and served promptly. Drinks order taken very quickly and food then ordered when drinks arrived. Food was delicious, thank you.

Great family meal at the Woodside today with lovely, friendly service from Janet, Sue and Matt. Food was delicious, so much to choose from on the menu. Can recommend the pie of the day, garlic lamb skewer, the ultimate beef burger and the bacon chop. All food was cooked to perfection and portion sizes are more than adequate. Thanks to Liam, Liam and Adele in the kitchen for cooking for us today

Had late lunch (2-3pm) here with my mum. We ordered a main and dessert with drinks. Service by Janet was wonderful and couldn’t fault. It was quiet due to the late afternoon but that just meant it was more of a relaxed atmosphere. I have a gluten allergy that I made known and browsed my food online. I chose the fish and chips for main and mango and passionfruit pavlova for pudding. I enjoyed both but the fish needed a bit more flavour and the pudding seemed to be missing the passionfruit element. I still very much enjoyed my meal though! Would recommend and definitely will be back ☺️

I used to eat here on a regular basis. Today we booked a table for my mum birthday. The service was slow which we didn’t mind up until desserts where is felt we were waiting a long time to even get a menu. I got up and found the menus myself and the waiter eventually came back to take our order. The desserts (my favourite part) were below standard. I had a pavlova which was Just a big meringue with a blob of cream on top and some mango pieces and white chocolate buttons scattered around the side of the plate. After the cream had gone it was just dry. My mother had the honey comb desert but left half of it and said it tasted awful. After we put our spoons down we were immediately told we needed to leave the table, which my partner said we’d just finish our drinks and then going anyway. But we were told again we needed to leave the table. My partner told the waiter he was out of order to which he responded he didn’t need to be spoke to like that. Very disappointing considering the slow service. I was also disappointed with the menu selection - nothing special and lacking in my opinion. Won’t be coming again will stick to the old hall or some others in Worsley.

My friends and I meet up about four times a year and always visit The Woodside. It's our happy place.

Oh dear, 8 family members dining on 16/7/2024 starters ok, only 3 out of our party of 8 could eat their meals. My meal of gammon egg chips peas and pineapple, gammon tough ,egg rock hard, chips ok, peas cold, pineapple looked nothing like pineapple, difficult to cut .Never again I had been warned about the food so it was my own fault . Did not want to complain as it was a family celebration. We did not pay the £26 service charge (which was automatically added on) though left a tip for the waitresses.

Came up to visit my friend and she took me here for lunch. Lovely environment and atmosphere. The food arrived pretty quickly and was tasty. The portion size was good and the service was attentive and friendly. I had the ham and chicken pie with a side of extra veg (veg was overcooked but never mind) and my friend had the chicken burger. Both nicely presented. Our waitress was Janet, who was really lovely and helpful. It was nice to see a bit of age diversity and I thought Janet brought something that your average young person doesn't, so that was nice. There was a genuineness and calmness to her approach which enhanced the experience. Would definitely go again - very pleasant dining experience 😊

I spent nearly £50 on 2 Sunday roasts which arrived with no gravy also the parsnips were undercooked. I tried to call the restaurant but it went to answerphone left my details with no response. Was not worth the money!!

The food is very overpriced but the staff are all extremely friendly.

Would have been 5 star on food but some veg slightly undercooked for our taste. Will definitely be back!

We’re regulars at The Woodside. It’s always a pleasure coming down seeing Clare and the team. Todays roast was lovely and I’m so full I’m having to take my put home for later.

Must go. The only down side I can think of about this great restaurant is the need for more outdoor seats for a wonderful summer Sunday afternoon. The rest are just perfect, including the staff are very kind and patient, full of tolerance for our long lunch and slightly loud laughters, never hesitate to refill water for us, superb food quality, very clean including the toilets, quick response time. Would definitely visit again later. Must go

I went for a family meal on a Tuesday evening in June 2024. The service in the bar area was fine, but the restaurant was a disappointment. This was despite the dining area being mostly empty. The food order came out wrong (which was later compensated) however, the food was of a poor quality overall and for the prices charged, it was not what I have come to expect. It's a shame that this establishment cannot compete with its high standards from past.

We recieved great service from Maizey. She remembered what we like and where we like to sit, so we felt really welcomed. She's a credit to the company.

The food was good, but what really made the difference was the service from our waitress Maizey. She was cheerful and attentive, but without being over familiar, making the whole experience relaxed and enjoyable. The prices are a bit more expensive than other pubs, but in my opinion, it is worth paying extra for the ambiance, quality and service that you don't get elsewhere. If you want a meal in a relaxed quality 'country pub atmosphere', I would suggest it's definitely worth a visit.

Six of us visited Monday evening without a reservation. Had a drink at the bar then went to dine. Was attended to by Lottie who looked after us, she was polite, efficient and welcoming. Food was excellent. Not the first time we have visited/eaten and will be back again for sure. A really good experience.

Had a family brunch with my daughters & grandchildren. The food was fantastic. I have got to mention Maddie our waitress who went above & beyond for us. She is an absolute asset to the business. Thanks for everything!! xx

The food at the Woodside is always delicious when we visit. They have a wide selection to cater to different dietary requirements. The staff are friendly. Some of the drinks are rather pricey so check before ordering.
