Quay House in Salford

My hubby and I visited for our dinner before the Ed Byrne performance at The Lowry Having read some of the reviews I was a little concerned but needn't have been. The staff were very friendly and professional, the restaurant was spotlessly clean and the service excellent. We ordered starters which came out in a reasonable time and we both opted for steak for main courser. The fillet my husband had was a beautiful cut, cooked to perfection served with lovey sides. My ribeye was delicious, well seasoned and cooked again with delicious sides. I honestly can't fault this restaurant and wouldn't hesitate in going back if in the area again. Thanks

Beefeater at the Quays In Salford on Thur., 3/10/2024 around 6:30pm: I took my wife to have a meal at Beefeater Quay House In Salford. I asked the young lady for this offer (please see below comments taken from Beefeater website), but she said this £20 for two are for residents at the Premier Inn only! We had no choice but to order two mains with drinks & ended up with two desserts. The total cost was just below £50!! I have my MasterCard credit receipts, in case you need them. Great location not to far from Manchester airport all you can eat and drink breakfast for less than £12 you can't go wrong and brilliant service from staff.

Last visted October 2024. Well, the restaurant and bar? It was a quiet night. Serviced once there was someone at the bar. Few people came and went as there was no one servicing downside. Food? Take a look at the pic.... safe to say it looks better than it looks and that's saying something.

We had breakfast here every morning. The location is attractive, the staff is friendly and attentive, and the food is both good and inexpensive.

One star for the barman who offered us free desserts because our burgers were inedible. He agreed when he saw them. The unsmiling waitress had brought them after a very long wait and they were like tough,grey cardboard and stone cold. The replacements came within 8 mins and were warm and much better. Won't be back.

Toilets and outside area totally filthy - will NOT be going there again.

Had dinner with friends. They were going to a show, and we couldn't get the staff on, attention to pay. My friends left & I got a staff member to get a bill & she couldn't take payment. I went to walk out & pay In the premier Inn. The staff took the payment then. She wasn't very friendly about the issues. I'd think twice about eating there on a Saturday night.

I ate a steak but the music made me feel sad

Great food, quick service lovely atmosphere, my waitress (Tracy) was lovely and very accommodating can’t fault my visit at all!

Had a really good mixed grill, but the burger was nothing like shown on the menu, not good.

We found this restaurant during our walk in Manchester, we ate really well and the bar boy is really adorable, we don't speak any English and he took the time to help us as much as possible with our order, thanks to him ...

We used to love it here but the place has changed massively! Called in a couple of weeks ago and the two lads behind the bar were great. We went in last night for food in the "restaurant" upstairs, I had booked a table online, got to the top of the stairs and waited five minutes before someone came to us, I didn't mind that what did annoy me was the three waitresses that walked past us and didn't even acknowledge we were there, I found it a little rude. When we did get seated I had to wipe food off the seat, the table was sticky, menus sticky. The toilets were a disgrace. The food wasn't great, over cooked chicken and overpriced for what it was. Service wasn't great, our waitress looked like she just didn't want to be there and wasn't very helpful. We just didn't like the vibe of the place at all. Went downstairs to get a drink, same waitress behind the bar, ordered and paid for drinks, they didn't have what I wanted (but they did upstairs) so I had a cheaper drink but had to mention a refund myself as we had already paid for a spirit they didn't have. We won't be back. Such a shame it used to be a great place.

Good buffet breakfast selection with added bonus of take away cups for a coffee/tea afterwards. Kids eat free

After a Utd game, we came here for some food. We had visited before and found the food etc. very good. But not this time. The whole place seemed to have a patina of stickiness on tables, toilets, bar counter, doors. It strongly suggested the place needed a proper cleaning and not just a wiping down. As for the food.... My burger was probably over-cooked for a customer three hours earlier and returned. I should have returned it too rather than attempt to eat it. Dry, singed and lacking any worthwhile accompaniments. My partners ribs seemed of similar vintage and were incinerated. No brownie points for the bar staff either, though one of the kitchen staff was very pleasant. Pity. With some good management this place could be very nice, given its location and space.

On my own for work. Looked after very well by Tracy, who made me feel welcomed and comfortable. I'm on a low carb diet and it was easy to find a suitable meal. Great Beefeater.

Came here for a family dinner but was informed the upstairs restaurant was closed due to short staff. Had to dine downstairs in the pub area and order yourself from the bar. Ordered a steak to be cooked medium but was cooked well done. Not a great restaurant experience. That said, I’ve been here before when the restaurant was open and food and service was excellent.

Advertised as dog friendly. Having booked a dog friendly table, I was greeted with "you can't bring that in here". I tried to explain that I was just informing them (staff behind the bar, no one on meet & greet) that I'd arrived for my booking, but was over ridden with "you can't bring that in here". Again tried to explain, "you'll have to sit outside". Fair enough, we cleaned the table. Food average. Service average. On the whole disappointed. The rest of Manchester was amazingly dog friendly.

Did not stay in hotel but went yesterday to the restaurant but tables dirty and unwiped. Staff were hardly about the place.

A sedate and calm environment. Service by Oliver, who is pretty much the ultimate in terms of being a virtually Premier League Barperson. An absolute asset!

Well cooked meals, steaks were perfectly cooked, came here couple of years ago and much improved.

On arrival for lunch we were told we could only sit downstairs as the restaurant upstairs was closed. Which was not mentioned on the website when we booked. The disappointment continued the tables were sticky and in need of a good wipe, the chairs were dirty and stained. As the kitchen is upstairs the waitress had to carry a tray containing 5 meals down the flight of stairs. Food was average. Won’t be visiting again.

Waitresses we're great couldn't do enough for us. Food was lovely, personal wouldn't got the the tomato soup again, was too tangy for my liking. If you get to sit upstairs ask for a window seat to see the lovly view of the lakes

On Sunday 28th July I went with my family and the service and the food was delicious. Big portion, tasty and quick. Today, Sunday 4th we came back and the waitress said that the chefs usually know what have gluten and what dont have it when I asked why is gravy and stuffing on the gluten free Sunday roast. It tooks 40mins until the food came and they had to make again the gluten free meal. Was 2 mini small pieces of meat on the Sunday roast when last week was 4 and very small portionin general. The chefs, specially the young one was eating, drinking, singing laud and dancing on the kitchen. I don't care if at least they know what are they doing and they make a nice food but you can notice the difference of staff from one week to another

Stayed in Manchester this weekend and was just across from our hotel. It was empty downstairs we sat down and ordered. The chairs were disgusting and stained. We went up stairs, more lively, only 2 waitresses, who manged to drop my food on the floor, so had to wait even longer. Place is dirty, food rip off, wipe your shoes on the way out.

Fabulous service especially from Naim Food always lovely

Came to visit today after a Manchester United Stadium Tour for dinner with my 2 sons and was greeted by Naim, he was so lovely and helpful. Food was delicious and all the staff were just so kind. Thanks Naim and staff at beefeater for a great experience:)

Shockingly slow service. Food was average at best. Waited nearly an hour for a pudding!

Location is fine. We wanted to eat here, but had almost nothing left on the menu. We finished our beer and left. Staff was horrible.

Great location. Meals and breakfasts are above average. Staff are friendly, polite, and efficient.

We went for a meal here whilst up in Manchester. Food, service and atmosphere was fab. Staff were lovely, friendly and assertive.

It was an okay experience. No signage to tell us to wait or order at the bar, which was staffed by only one person (strange for it being the semi finals!). Eventually after waiting for a minute we approached the bar and were told to order food at the bar when we were ready. Sat at a table that was sticky, eventually saw some staff coming downstairs and helping the person at the bar by clearing tables. Food was lovely, but no check back, felt a little disappointed by the experience, but it did the minimum of feeding and watering us.

For our party, this was sort of the battle of the breakfasts. We had breakfasted at the Harvester Salford Quays a few weeks ago and decided to try the Beefeater this time round. As far as value for money is concerned, the £10.99 for cooked breakfast as well as various continental breakfast is admirable as is the unlimited drinks however the tea bags were terrible and would not make a brew properly without resorting to using 2 bags. I should point out that neither my wife nor I like particularly strong tea as we both take it black. We found most of the food was well cooked but we found it all a little tasteless. Last but not least the poached eggs I had were hard! This is an issue I also had at Harvester so maybe everyone in Salford likes hard poached eggs. Personally I do not and I'm sure that neither Greg Wallace nor John Torode (masterchef judges) would find that acceptable. All things considered, I think Harvester won the battle.

Location and staff very good but was unfortunately let down by cleanliness husband had miss fortune to us toilet sike over floor toilet was dirty and no toilet roll. Females weren't much better dated hot water was boiling and no signs to indicate this I burnt my hand hate to think about a child. Outside seating was dirty with cigarette butt's and rubbish wouldn't take much to go out and brush up a bit

hands down the worst sunday dinner i've ever had 😂 chicken was slimey n all frozen veg/roasties. 14.00 too which i find expensive for poor quality. food is usually nice but this was awful

Poor customer service our server is very rude,her name is Melanie not to sure but we have a breakfast this morning on this place with my friends but she is so rude. We working on hospital also her attitude is so bad she ask for what we having for breakfast she Taking orders for hot good I think she get confused because some of my friends doesn't want any egg and bake beans and we can say to her face that she is not happy to serve us,she has a really bad attitude.

Perfectly cooked steak by chef Sam- hard to find that for similar when Aussie $$ double. Gravey beautiful, not too thick or too runny... Need to make thier own mayo from scratch- i know their chef could nail it....Service ok, considering we popped up late on a Sunday. Can't comment on rooms as we didn't stay here.

Very disappointed with the beefeater as despite making a booking for my parents birthday we were not allowed to eat in the restaurant as we were told not enough staff

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Beefeater Salford Quays, and I must say it was an outstanding experience. The ambiance was warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxed meal with family or friends.The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the exceptional service provided by Jess, the manager. She was attentive, professional, and went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was perfect. Jess's friendly demeanor and attention to detail truly made us feel welcomed and valued.The food was delicious, with a great variety of options to choose from. The steaks were cooked to perfection, and the sides were flavorful and fresh. The menu caters to all tastes, and the quality of the ingredients was evident in every bite.Overall, Beefeater Salford Quays exceeded our expectations. With excellent service led by Jess and a fantastic menu, it's a place we will definitely return to and highly recommend to others. Visited yesterday. Tired shabby decor .Ladies toilets in need of revamp, door would not lock. Food overpriced given the quality was so poor. Fish was grey , pie crusts very hard , salad swimming in dressing and the tomatoes were soft and well past their best. No avocado in the salad . The only positive was the waitress who was cheerful and pleasant. Of all the places to eat at Salford Quays we made a poor choice . Restaurants in Manchester are definitely far better than this ! Not one of the best ! Would definitely not return.

Shambles of a service, waitress had no life in her walking around like a zombie… speaking of, my zombie cocktail was missing grenadine. Food gave me food poisoning, don’t recommed.

We visited the Beefeater Quarry House twice during our stay in Manchester. Nice place to eat with friends. Suitable for both breakfast and dinner. It is also suitable to drink a few beers with friends. The food is delicious. Portions are generous. The prices are normal, acceptable. The view from the second floor is great.

Called in one lunchtime, excellent meals, and a quick service. Would recommend.

We had breakfast and dinner for the 3 days we were staying at the Premier Inn next door to the Beefeater. All the staff were so very helpful and polite, friendly and with excellent customer service skills. Great choices on the menus, with good vegetarian options. Felt really welcomed and valued and never rushed.

I was here for my birthday, the lovely Lucy O served us and brought out a brownie with a candle for my celebration and has been nothing but absolutely welcoming every single time we have been in. The food is always great, no complaints at all.

Beautiful food and friendly service. The only thing I've dropped a star for is the seating was stained. The upholstery needs cleaning.

Came for breakfast with 8 members of my family Customer service could be a lot better. There was no hand wash in the toilet Food ordered took a long time before we were served. Never coming here again

We were staying at the Premier Inn next door and decided to eat here for ease as the weather was terrible. Upon arriving we were told by the lady behind the bar to go upstairs to the restaurant, only when we got upstairs the staff there told us they couldn’t seat us as they were expecting a couple of bookings (the restaurant was empty!) so we went back downstairs to the bar area. They were clearly under staffed as tables weren't cleared or wiped/cleaned. We put 2 tables together for our family of 4 and found bitten finger nails on the carpet, food stains on the wall, the light above the table had no lightbulb in and there were cobwebs in the corners of the walls. The food arrived and it wasn’t fresh. There were no staff around at this point to mention it to, so we ended up leaving without finishing our meals and without waiting for the desserts we’d ordered (for the kids off the kids menu) and definitely won’t be returning.

Fantastic food, best in Manchester. We ordered the four starter special and it was absolutely delicious and filling. The sauces are such a nice touch to each dishes.

Was super busy today and clearly understaffed but Jack Eva and Lucy did the best they could with the amount of people inside. Happy with the food everything came out hot and fresh perfect!! Would definitely recommend!

Had a brilliant breakfast over the bank holiday weekend. It’s a busy place but nothing faulted, no waiting and service was brill.

Shocking. We booked this restaurant in advance to use the taste card app. When we arrived the place looked dirty . As we say down we mentioned the discount card at which point 3 members of staff all had opinions of whether they accepted the card but eventually we were told no. I think you need some at taff training and organisation as this is really poor management.

Recently on this weekend, our server Jacqué was very friendly and made our experience very enjoyable! 1000% recommend.

So I’m actually shocked to have to write this review, I used to go to beefeaters quite regularly and was very satisfied every time, but recently the food and service has been horrendous. I went to this beefeaters with my partner last night and I was actually shocked at the level of service and food standard that was provided. The mains came out and the fish was inedible, the batter on the fish was like dough, the chicken was dry, the nachos were stale, and portions were minimal for what you pay, we don’t usually like to complain in hospitality as we know it can be hard but the place was empty so we asked if the fish could be taken off the bill as it’s not going to be eaten, however was happy to have the rest of the food. the server which has already been complained about multiple times before was rude and arrogant, no apology for being dissatisfied with the food and walked off with an attitude towards the kitchen “it’s inedible apparently” it’s an open kitchen so we can hear that we are being spoken about, the atmosphere put me off my food and I was appalled by the service so asked for a manager, the same server proceeded to laugh in the kitchen with the kitchen staff because we asked for a manager, she was highly disrespectful and made the whole experience shocking, the manager on shift at the time did apologise and clear the bill. You clearly have a problem with this waitress and I think you need to think long and hard about your staff! She was even rude as we proceeded to walk down the stairs out of the building. Beefeater has been contacted directly about this as it was one of the worst experiences in hospitality I’ve ever had to experience. I think a certain someone needs to rethink her job choice as this isn’t the first time judging by the recent reviews

I feel today is the day I need to provide a review. The Location and the food you provide is great. The value is fantastic and the service from you all is also very good. However today’s visit wasn’t the best, I respect all the staff there which is why I will keep the issue I had private but I still want to make people aware that I could of easily given you a terrible review and named the member of staff and how they spoke to us. The issue however was handled very quickly and professionally. I am not disheartened and I will continue to eat here. I’d like to not have that waiter be our waiter again just to avoid any issues going forward and how you deal with complaints are your business. However if this person has a reputation of giving poor service like I received today then this could very easily affect your success and reputation. Everyone else are lovely and nice people and I hope my review doesn’t come across to negative, as overall I love coming here, not just for the value but the service and location.

Was very busy - very few staff and limited menu

The service is an absolute shambles. Food wasn't what we ordered. Some was under cooked and some over cooked. Potatoes were still hard. Service was slow. Had to wait half an hour to be served. Then 20-30 mins for a drink. Certain staff had bad attitudes. Waiter couldn't get the bill right. We had to wait an hour for our bill to come. Over all we was there over 3 hours resulting in our parking times going over. Which will result in a parking fine I'm sure.

Went here for an evening meal before going to a show.The place, when we got there, looked tired and run down.The food was very poor. The service was awful. The table was not cleared after each course. We even had to search for somebody to bring our deserts,as they did not appear after over half an hour.When they did bring the apple pie it was inedible,the pastry was soggy.The drinks where expensive. Not a good visit. We did speak to the "manager", which was a waste of time.She did not even apologise for our experience or tried to rectify the issues. She did say that "she would tell the chef to warm up apple pie in an oven and not microwave it in the future".

Staff don't like to work, always refuse serving food after 8PM and shut off upstairs early.

My wife and I stayed here for 1 night ,the room staff and breakfast was spot on will return thankyou 10 out of 10

Arrived for breakfast to find that the lift wasn't working. Both me and my friend have mobility problems so found it difficult to climb and come back down several flights of stairs. No staff member on the ground floor to offer any alternative or help. Whilst the breakfast and customer service were very good, the general restaurant area is in need of some TLC. Torn cover on seats, broken furniture.

Miserable staff, empty tables and told there was no room for food as we had not booked online ????? I suppose glad as it looked such a depressing place

It was quiet, we shared our meal dishes which was definitely enough for us both and gave us a good selection. We also had a cappuccino which was okay.

Beefeatwr/Premier Inn hotel... 2nd unpleasant experience, so found elsewhere for breakfast. Don't mind paying if the food is nice. Or for a room if it's comfortable. The experience was neither.

Went for a meal, the food was good. The bar staff seemed to be very rushed which seemed to cause delays at the bar and causing the bar staff to be overwhelmed and grumpy.

Good food in a great environment with good service. Ample parking.

No atmosphere and empty. Probably the time I went in and weather, but service was appalling, miserable to say the least.

With this below average level of food and service, it won't last long with places like 11Central opening in Salford Quays. Not only was this the worst roast I've ever paid for (small portions, poor cuts of meat, overcooked veg), the customer service was abysmal. Eva, if this isn't the job for you, leave and let someone else have a crack. Eva clearly did not want to be there; didn't say hello, made no eye contact when speaking, no apology for food not available, didn't check if food was okay, didn't bring the bill when asked (we waited ten minutes then had to stand at the bar in our coats), didn't apply a discount code we'd asked for. Eva was clearly not having a good night, but when working in customer service it's all about fake it until you make it. If you're looking for a place with good service, tasty food and decent beer, go to 11Central, Kargo, CraftBrew, Lime bar - literally anywhere but here.

Nice rooms, a lovely breakfast and pleasant staff

We were directed to go " next door" to the Beefeater for our breakfast which was served up the (many) stairs, no lift but dining area very pleasant with view across the river Breakfast self service for fresh fruit salad croissants cereals yoghurt fresh fruit etc plus tea coffee and orange juice. There was table service for cooked breakfast, to order -- all very good and service excellent + well set up for the day ahead !!

Soup luke warm not very nice Christmas Dinner sprouts rock hard not a lot of turkey one very small Yorkshire pudding parsnips rock hard carrots rock hard bit of gravy the smallest ball of stuffing I have ever seen OMG pudding half a dozen profiteroles stacked up with a bit of cream inside them this Christmas 🎄 dinner was not worth the £62 95 I will never go again quay house beefeater absolutely no Christmas atmosphere whatsoever well disappointed

1st time visit to a Beefeater for years, chose this one due to location of the Quays. We went for the set meal Festive menu, a good variety and plenty to choose from. We had 2 starters, a chicken burger and roast dinner main then 2 desserts. The food was hot, very nice and good portions. The service was a let down, quite slow... this wasn't the waitresses fault, I think more of the place being under staffed. I've given 4 stars but would have opted for 3.5 if poss.

Staff member Mark was serving on the bar down stairs. He was very polite , friendly and worked very well under pressure serving us and other customers considering how short staffed it was with the restaurant upstairs being fully booked . I’m afraid to say we had to wait almost an hour and half for our food and even had to cancel our desserts .
