Las hamburguesas eran buenas pero una pena que hayan eliminado las pizzas, desde que estaban bajo nueva propiedad. La comida y las bebidas parecen a un precio razonable.

Tuvimos una hermosa Nochebuena y bebidas del día de boxeo, temprano por la tarde / noche. Personal muy amable, buena cerveza y perro agradable. Nos gusta el ambiente y sentarnos fuera es acogedor.

Habría dado un 5 porque las patatas fritas de sal y pimienta eran irreales. Mi prometido y mis amigos no están de acuerdo, aparentemente la falta de pan rallado en un mac y queso te costó todo un punto. Nos vemos de nuevo para la próxima hamburguesa con papas fritas, pero no olvides las migas de pan

Regularmente almorzamos los domingos en The Woods. Es tan bueno con un montón de carne de res, un enorme pudín Yorkshire, patatas asadas y un montón de verduras de lado. También hacen un queso de coliflor medio y el rábano picante tiene un buen bocado. Bien vale la pena el dinero y así ahorra en el lavado.

Fui aquí con amigos a tomar bebidas y comida. Todos pensamos que el personal era genial, así como la comida. Fue difícil culpar

We hired out the function room for my partners graduation celebrations and could not be more thrilled with our evening! The pizza was delicious and a hit with everyone, staff were so helpful and friendly and the venue was spacious and perfect for us. We are so grateful to the team at The Woods for giving us such a fantastic and memorable evening.

Excellent venue for our wedding celebration! The room is really spacious and great having the veranda area too. The food was delicious and excellent customer service. Highly recommend.

Hire their top floor event space for a party and it was great! Sunny weather and having the terrace was perfect! Really accommodating staff! Good pizzas too! Great for a private function!

Hired the events room upstairs for a party. Great space, loved the room and outdoor area. Highly recommend for an occasion! We had about 60 people and it was perfect and quite full!

The food has gone down hill. The new addition of pie is poor, and pizza has taken a turn for the worse. I’ve let the fact that the the staff complete the toilet cleanliness thing once a day pass over me because they’re actually clean. The beer selection is good with a regular rotation. The staff are nice and helpfull. All in all, slightly overpriced but a good night out.

Served by Alice, she was really lovely! Great outdoor seating, food can cater for vegans also. Will be back :D

Went on Sat 8th of may at 2.15pm. Everyone was really friendly, the door host was excellent and super attentive. The waiter serving drinks was funny and really professional! Food was really good, drinks were great too. Had a lovley time and wish we could’ve stayed longer. Can’t wait for everything to get back to normal so we can have a proper day out there. The outside area was amazing and really well designed and thought out. Thanks guys.

Phoebe took care of our compliant very well, initially I didn’t want to come back but she sorted thing very well and I shall return!!

Me and a work friend visited. Honestly had low expectations but was pleasantly surprised. We got a really nice rooftop table, nice wine, delicious pizza and friendly service. I don’t normally give reviews but apparently if we gave a review and name dropped, Alice would get a free drink. This is for you Al !

We went for a Sunday roast at the weekend. Service was excellent- really friendly staff. The roast was delicious- will definitely be going back again soon.

It was the first visit since Covid-19, happy to say the food and service is just as good as it was proir to covid restrictions.

Love it here, service is fab and we had a great table on the ground floor but when our time was up we wanted to stay so we asked if they had any tables and they were so kind and helped us to find a free table on the terrace which was amazing. The heat lamps were great and although we didn’t eat the pizzas that people were ordering looked incredible! Thanks team

Starting with the positives - the pizzas were lovely and hot and very tasty.Negatives:- I rang the day before to change the table reservation from 3 to 4 and got told someone would ring me back - they never did.- when we arrived they couldn’t find our table booking despite my friend paying a £30 deposit and having the confirmation email - luckily they found our table but it was dirty with dried food from the previous guests which isn’t good in covid times...- it took them nearly 50 minutes to take our order - Another 40 minutes for the food to come (we only had the table until 8.30 and by this point it was 8.10pm luckily they didn’t ask for the table back)- my friend who ordered a gluten free pizza was given a normal pizza and then had to swap it (very dangerous if you’re coeliac)- we asked for cutlery 3 times and never received any - I asked for another drink 3 times and never got it - when we came to pay the waitress typed in 17p instead of £17 - I queried it and she shouted “f*ck” - none of us were bothered but not very professional to swear in front of customers. Overall they looked completely out of their depth, after this year you’d think they’d be trying to get as much money in the till as possible - we’d have ordered at least another 2 rounds of drinks but the service was just terrible and we’d have waited too long for them - if they came at all!

We’ve been a few times since the end of this lockdown and I have to say that the staff there are so nice and helpful. Probably the most welcoming in Leeds! Thank you

It started out great but ended up feeling uncomfortable! We went tonight as a group of 6! As soon as we got there 4 of us ordered Gin and Lemonades! They all tuned up Gin and sodas, the lemonade had clearly gone from the post mix system which is absolutely understandable it happens! All drinks were replaced and we where happy! Later comes the issues! I myself ordered another gin and lemonade an hour later and yet again it arrived a gin soda, we actually all work in hospitality and understand how a post mix system works and that this was not how it happens, we brought the drink straight back downstairs and a replacement was sent a couple minutes later happy days!! THEN my friend was still waiting for their gin and lemonade, so she asked the same waiter that we returned the pervious drink to for soda issues to just to double check where her actually was. This is as when we where made to feel extremely uncomfortable they brought the manager up with another member of staff to question us why we had asked for our order. The manager asked to see the drinks receipts to our orders to make sure we weren’t just obviously trying to get a free drink. This made us SO upset and uncomfortable because clearly we where asking for REPLACEMENT drinks because we where not getting the drinks we where ordering through the app, this is so disappointing all coming from hospitality backgrounds that we where made to feel this way by a fellow venue!First time for us visiting here and probably the last - the staff and servers btw where absolutely lovely!!! An absolute dream for us but just getting blamed for issues that where not our fault made us feel uncomfortable and upset!

We arrived at 17.30 to be asked to return in an hour for a table (no issue with this given the current situation). In that time we went to the pub across the road for a drink, and I wish we had stayed there!!!The worst £17 I’ve ever spent. “Rare” beef looked and tasted cremated and microwaved simultaneously and the horseradish cream was more like a dry hummus. Anyone can make their mind up about the “roast potatoes” just by looking at them.We were placed on the outer bar area as there were no tables, although they state 60% walk ins and 40% bookings, all of the tables we saw were reserved. I asked the waitress if we could sit on the table behind us as the family had left (easier to eat on a table than on a bar stool?) the waitress stated she would ask her manager. She never got back to us and 10 minutes later a couple were sat there and I overheard they had had a cancellation, which is why they were able to have it.Had anyone actually come over and asked how the food was, I may have been able to save myself writing this review. However if one person sees this and saves their money, it is time well spent!There are surrounding places which are 1000x nicer. I don’t know why anyone would choose to come here except ignorance (like me). I could not get out of there soon enough and certainly won’t be returning.

The woods have transformed their outdoor space to make it even better than it was before. The downstairs terrace is fab, with loads of heaters and comfy seating and an outdoor indoor feel. The staff are all exceptional and service is great. You can tell that every detail has been thought through and they even had fresh flowers inside, despite the inside being closed. We had pizzas which were all lovely and the espresso martinis were great. We’ve all been starved of social interaction recently so I’m sure that added to the buzz, but these guys have clearly invested heavily to make drinking in the current climate an experience rather than just dust off a few outdoor tables and chairs. All the staff worked tirelessly throughout, always had a smile (under their mask) and couldn’t do enough to please. Thanks for an awesome evening.

I thought Chaple Allerton had grown out of places like this , but I see that there are still people who are impressed by the rag tag New York concept of the early part of this century. I know People want to hear about food and beverage, but that's not the priority of this place. This is all about living the ego of design and concept of someone heavily influenced on cashing in on a 2nd rate friends central perks vibe. Once your over the nostalgia, the discomfort of the furniture is both physical and mental . That's the reason I frequent this establishment , the nostalgia of my friends in their third year of Uni in Leeds almost 20 years ago. Certainly if I want to pay silly prices for my beer and average food, then CA has better to offer. A shame the same interesting imagination laboured to design was not applied to the menu. The staff are mostly pleasant but I always wonder what happens behind the scenes when not only is there quite a high turn over , but staff that survive more than six month are rare and noticeable by the energy being sucked out of them. I do have a soft spot for the log burning stove. Wish I could afford such a statement piece. But that's all it is , another overpriced attempt to make some sort of statement that at the time of "concept" failed to consider basic health and safety and now sports a fire guard that I expect to see my granny's nighty and knickers hung out to dry. Not the class the designer was desperately grasping at. Now on my little flirtation of H&S this is quite a strong point in my life and I recognise the difference between confident and competent control measures and paper exercises. Once again this place is all about creating an illusion then delivering substance. In order create " the space" and design, there is compromise in actually providing space in our post covid world. A number of pinch points exsist especially at busy periods. Doors that could and should be open to allow air flow and remove touch contamination sites are closed so as not to mess with the fen shui. Even the face masks worn by staff are about style and concept rather than the welfare and safety of staff and customers. If this place was a film character, it would be Sic Boy from Trainspotting. Desperate to be stylish with a lack of panache, an element of risk and once encountered your wallet will be lighter.

Popped into the woods to enjoy some beers and pizza. The food was lovely and Mike who served us was wonderful. Polite and knowledgeable about the beers on offer. I think they could have done with some more staff on as they seemed very busy but luckily for us we were well taken care of. The dog had the best time!

Experiencia fantástica, de principio a fin. . El portero fue muy profesional y amable, nos sentamos en nuestra mesa rápidamente y nuestro servidor JASMINE fue absolutamente increíble. Ella estaba en la pelota y siguió las reglas de COVID 19 a fondo. . Fue profesional y rápida en traer nuestras bebidas y se veía feliz en su trabajo. . Entré a tomar unas cervezas con un compañero y me senté abajo junto al fuego. Tenían una buena selección de barril y en la nevera. Por dentro es realmente extraño y maravilloso. Nunca he estado en un bar como este, obras de arte geniales y uso del espacio. El personal fue amable. Terminamos obteniendo pizzas que son de un tamaño decente y muchas coberturas interesantes disponibles. Toda una experiencia genial y se sintió muy seguro. Gana, gana.

I have been going to the woods consistently since it had opened but recently my experiences are getting worse. Tonight has caused me to write a review but it could have been any of the previous 3 times. The staff were rude and unhelpful and ‘the manager’ would not allow me to explain our issues she continued to talk over me and accused one of our parties are swearing at her which was completely untrue. For the first time in my life we were asked to leave a bar, when I kindly told the barman he didn’t need to make our drinks I was greeted with a ‘see ya’. I was shocked and deeply disappointed. I very supportive of local businesses but this is not the way to treat customers.

Llamé para almorzar con un amigo. El personal fue amable y educado. Mi amigo comió un pastel de carne y verduras que se veía muy bien y lo disfrutaron. Tuve el pollo jerk que consistía en dos muslos de pollo muy pequeños con arroz y guisantes. La ensalada no parecía muy apetecible, un poco de lechuga iceberg picada y cebolla morada.No recomendaría este plato porque el tamaño de la porción es muy decepcionante.

No reservamos y, al llegar, el servidor 1 nos dijo que podíamos sentarnos en cualquier lugar y que era servicio de mesa. El servidor 1 nos siguió a nuestra mesa de elección y nos dio menús (no había un menú para bebidas calientes).Después de esperar 15 minutos, llamamos la atención del Servidor 2 y pedimos bebidas (un café y una lima y refresco), luego tuvimos que llamar después del Servidor 2 para regresar ya que se había ido de la mesa antes de preguntarnos si estábamos comiendo, lo cual éramos. Luego dimos nuestra orden de comida y el servidor tomó nuestros menús.Después de unos minutos más, el servidor 3 nos preguntó si podíamos cambiar de mesa ya que otra parte había reservado la mesa y el personal se había olvidado de poner un cartel de reserva. Respondimos que preferíamos no movernos dado que habíamos estado sentados durante algún tiempo y habíamos pedido comida, que fue aceptada y se pidió a otra mesa que se cambiara.Después de unos minutos más llamamos la atención del Servidor 1 y preguntamos por nuestras bebidas. El servidor 1 dijo que había una acumulación de pedidos (sorprendente dado que no estaba ocupado) y que nos los traerían.Después de unos minutos más, el servidor 1 trajo un pedido de bebidas con dos cafés, no nuestro pedido. Luego vimos al servidor 1 ofrecer esto a otra mesa, pero no era de ellos, luego regresar al bar para verificar el pedido, sacar un café y luego traernos el café restante (ahora tibio). Pedimos la lima y la soda.Unos minutos más tarde, el Servidor 2 trajo nuestra comida y volvimos a pedir la lima y la soda, que nos trajeron poco después.Habíamos pedido sándwiches de aguacate, hummus y tomate en pan de masa madre, y el menú decía que con los sándwiches venía un lado pequeño de tubérculos. El lado era muy pequeño, ya que teníamos una zanahoria, una chirivía y una rodaja de patata (todas tibias) cada una. El pan de masa madre tenía una corteza muy dura que dificultaba su ingestión. El relleno del sándwich fue generoso con una deliciosa mermelada de tomate ahumado al lado.Cuando terminamos de comer, los platos fueron retirados rápidamente y nos preguntaron si queríamos algo más, lo cual no hicimos en ese momento, ya que recién habíamos terminado nuestra comida.Tuvimos una buena charla, pero no hubo más controles sobre si queríamos algo más y no se ofrecieron menús de postres, lo que era de esperar dada la cantidad de tiempo que estuvimos allí.Pedimos la factura y nuevamente tuvimos que esperar varios minutos para que nos preguntaran cómo nos gustaría pagar, y unos minutos más tarde se proporcionó la máquina de tarjetas.En ningún momento recibimos disculpas por la lentitud o los errores durante el servicio y el personal no mostró calidez o amabilidad consistente con un buen servicio al cliente.Hemos estado en este lugar anteriormente y disfrutamos de un servicio rápido y una deliciosa pizza, por lo que esperábamos con ansias una comida después del cierre de la pandemia. Desafortunadamente, esto significó que estábamos particularmente decepcionados con el servicio de hoy.

The 3 of us including a toddler decided to give it a go. First thing we noticed was the lack of options for kids, when asked if they could do a smaller pizza we got "we don't do that", so after speaking to the manager they kindly obliged to go above and beyond and make a smaller pizza. We ordered from their "specials" menu.. so after browsing through the few culinery delights it had to offer we went for the avacado and grilled halloumi wrap which on the surface sounded delightful.. I did ask for the shwarma chicken to be added, which I was under the impression was a hot grilled chicken. Much to my amaze and disappointment it came like a poor man's Sainsbury's meal deal wrap (no offence Sainsbury's).. cold chicken to boot. Only because I hadn't eaten all day I tried to tackle what was put in front of me. I did leave the cold apricot and raisin couscous (yummy) and the dollop of humus I got in a strange pot on the side of the plate. Just to top off a very strange "restaurant" experience they also took my partner's food away whilst she was tending to the little one without her knowing. By this point I wanted the bill and the quickest route out of there. Given the shocking food they did in fairness give us a slight discount on the kids pizza that we didn't have any issues with.. it was more the 2 "specials" that were the disaster.You live and learn I guess... Just learn to not go to The Woods any time soon

The Woods is a very pleasant bar to sit out if the weather is good, particularly on the roof terrace. The staff are efficient & friendly which makes for a nice relaxing time. If you are peckish try the pizza’s which are really good & cooked in a Pizza oven. I have enjoyed my numerous visits to this bar at all different times of day & thoroughly recommend it.

Purely an advisory review and a little bit of feedback. I completely appreciate prams / babies are not accepted at all venues and that having said pram / baby doesn't automatically mean you can eat anywhere you like. That is completely understandable and this is not what's driven me to leave a 2* review.I went today to meet a group of friends, my friend called this morning to check if we needed to book and as we didn't need to book for the outside space we arrived around 1.30.I arrived ahead of the group and another lady was sat in the opposite side of the dining area with a pram having a meal, so I popped inside to ask for a table for 4. It didn't cross my mind to say 4 and 4 babies/prams - not intentional/deception just new baby brain fog. I already felt a little uncomfortable as I felt that I'd really put the lady (supervisor/manager) out who seated me as she'd had to clean the table for us to sit at. It was a vibe rather than what had been said at this point. Friend 1 and baby arrived just after I'd ordered a drink and following an angry glance at our table the lady came over and I asked if we were ok with having the prams (having read her facial expression), cue "no, I wasn't aware there was more than one, it's against our health and safety". We asked if we could fold the prams and were told they don't have any storage (again fine and not something I expect - we meant we could put them in a car boot). Then an awkward silence. Anyway we obviously had to leave, which is what it is, but as I was downing my juice friend number 2 arrived to be told that they don't allow prams on the premises (inference was none at all) for health and safety reasons. The waitresses were really pleasant and apologetic - hence why this isn't a 1*, but the supervisor / manager was pretty unpleasant about the situation, I was made to feel like a naughty child who hadn't told the truth when actually it was an honest mistake. It's not unreasonable to assume that a lady with a pram meeting friends on a Monday afternoon may be meeting pram wielding women too.A simple 'I'm sorry we can't accommodate multiple prams" would have been fine and this review wouldn't exist. The 'I'm sorry' being the key part here. I do understand that it must be really stressful running a business at the moment, particularly in hospitality, but having worked in hospitality for a long time myself too sometimes you need to be polite to customers - particularly when refusing service.I won't be back even without baby in tow as I felt so very unwelcome.

Awesome bar and pizza service, fantastic service before and after civil. Also very allergy aware and can provide this with the yummy food menu

We visited last weekend and the food was great! The environment was really nice and relaxed too. Service was a tiny bit iffy, but they seemed pleasant enough and brought us everything we needed when we asked.

The Woods has long been a favourite of ours so it seemed right in the current situation for that to be the first place we visited. My anxiety was through the roof before visiting however after being allowed to book a table outdoors and the staff being great once we arrived I soon relaxed. The staff were all fantastic and made me feel very reassured, we only stayed for two drinks but was a great fussy experience of the new normal after COVID-19. Thank you for a continued great service!

He estado yendo allí por más de 2/3 años nunca tuvo motivos para la insatisfacción. Pizzas, etc. siempre bien cocinadas y presentadas. Interesante selección de cervezas. Un montón de asientos, aunque se llena tanto por dentro como por fuera. Bonito "jardín en la azotea". Nunca he notado que los camareros me ignoran, siempre son atentos y educados. Estoy ansioso por ir de nuevo.Bien comunicado por transporte público, por lo que no es necesario conducir hasta allí.

Came here for a coffee after lunch with my boyfriend— the place was well decorated and looked really nice! It was very comfortable, had a well heated smoker-friendly beer garden (always a plus). The only downside was that it was filled to the brim with incredibly spatially unaware parents bouncing their children/babies and blocking the way to the bar and bathroom; combining that with the live band that was on it felt like i was stuck in a mosh pit at a wiggles concert Would definitely come back during the no children hours or when I’ve had a baby and can join in with the bouncing lol :-)

I'm loving this place now. I've been a few times in the last year and the icing on the cake is their new approach to to remote working - woodwork. Finding a place to do work, outside of your own home is essential for both your mental health and sanity! The other places in the area are far too noisy and just not suitable for solo workers. It's great that the owners have a progressive view on co-working and understand their local demographic - Chapel Allerton has a large amount of young/middle aged professionals. It's disappointing to read on here that some locals might think that the only group of people that need a place during the day are parents with young children who need a place for a coffee - the world has moved on and Chap A caters incredibly well for young parents who want to meet up. Bar staff (well the young lady who was working when I visited) were exceptional and nothing was too much trouble. I also liked the idea that the owners were all gathered in the bar, looking at ways to improve the venue even more (yes I was earwigging).I moved out of the area some time ago, but places like this make me want to move back, Nick

I visited The Woods with my heavily pregnant daughter in October. My daughter had recently relocated to Yorkshire, her home county, after 8years in London. We were really impressed with the set up at The Woods and chose to eat our meal upstairs, where there were several groups of young Mums, relaxing with their friends and quietly and discreetly breastfeeding their babies. How enlightened (even these days, it's rare), how 'grown-up'! It was such a lovely atmosphere and we planned to return once the baby was born, with friends and family.... BUT in the last 2 weeks, it seems this 'enlightened' pub is run by dinosaurs!! We returned for lunch, only to be turned away, children are now banned on weekdays. Chapel A is full of yummy mummies! This place is big enough for everyone, what a daft decision. We won't be going back, with or without babies.

I've been to the Woods quite a few times for drinks but have now been for food too and I'm really impressed. The avocado and feta on toast was delicious and the poached egg I added to it was cooked perfectly. Their Sunday roasts are a real winner though - so well cooked and the veggies are so tasty! Can't grumble with the prices either, not cheap but the quality is worth it!!!

Had a fantastic meal with our two teens this afternoon. The roast beef was excellent ( slow cooked brisket ) and the desserts were absolutely delicious. The Woods has a very relaxed vibe with an excellent playlist ! The Spanish have a perfect word : ‘sobremesa’ -roughly translated to mean the art of conversation after a good meal . If you’re looking for good food and a perfect place for ‘sobremesa’ then The Woods in Chapel Allerton hits the spot just about bang on .

What a lovely place to relax and chill. Excellent friendly service with very reasonably priced food and drinks. Service was quick and efficient and all staff were lovely. You can see why people want to live in Chapel Allerton with excellent places like this on your doorstep. We even got a free slice of chocolate cake with our coffees.

Great bar, great beer, great staff. Location is brilliant! The 4 story building in chapel allerton is the best in the area! Fully recommend. If you want a beer with a view 100%

This was my favourite bar in Chapel Allerton for years, and when it closed down for it's "refurb" I was gutted, but awaited it's reopening. When it finally reopened this year,apart from the rooftop bar, it was the exact same. To the point they hadn't even removed the the 2018 massive sign in the front beer garden. We had a table of 6, all ordered food, and a couple of us went to the bar to order. This took over 20 minutes... the service was super slow, and no apology, but I thought it may be teething problems.

As you might know Aussies have a thing about coffee and i have been blessed to find a few cafes in Uk that make a good one but its hard to come by.

Last night was the first time I had been in this venue since the fire closed it almost 2 years ago. Whilst nothing had changed aesthetically there was a disquieting atmosphere. It soon became clear that the service (once brisk) had slowed to a snails pace! I and my friend had to queue for quite some time to be served! Not only that but the prices were exhorbitant (my friend was charged £6.25 for a glass of beer - note: not a pint). However, the most disquieting part of the evening was when I observed an older gentleman being overlooked by bar staff in favour of younger customers! When he challenged the bar person for overlooking him once again the manager was called and the gentleman asked to leave for "shouting" at the staff!! My heart went out to this man whose only 'crime' was to queue for a drink and speak up when ignored! I'm afraid I found the behaviour of the of the so called management appalling! Following this I did observe that the youngest clientel were the first to be served! I suggest that if you are a young AND rich this IS the place for you. Otherwise avoid at all costs! The owners gave presumably increased the prices to help pay for the renovations.

Waited well over an hour for food with no apology. We complained but it still didn't arrive. We had to cancel our food order and eat elsewhere. Very chaotic service. It was a hot day and very understaffed. Really not good enough.

Me da la impresión de que quiero un bollo en un camino especial de Rasta Raccoon cuando me marche, oye, mira. ¿El hombre comienza a flippin ma dank, la hierba que huele crítica vista? El gerente no puede ver a un hombre o una niña mientras dice: "Está oliendo un poco raro aquí, muchachos", a lo que respondí "Mi’ erb noh huele a funky, mi ’erb huele a dank bro".

Acabo de pasar un día fabuloso trabajando en The Woods con mi socio comercial. Hemos estado buscando un lugar donde trabajar durante años y lo encontramos hoy. . . Matt y el amable equipo nos cuidaron muy bien. La comida, las bebidas, el personal, la música, el ambiente y el espacio fueron acertados. El WiFi era bueno y las opciones de dónde trabajar eran perfectas para nosotros. Definitivamente regresaremos.

Visité anoche con mi compañero, un bar de buen aspecto, muy ocupado, distribuido en 4 pisos, lamentablemente en una noche asquerosa con una atractiva terraza en la azotea, nos dijeron que simplemente encontráramos una mesa, ya que no reservamos para grupos de hasta seis personas, pero nos sentamos El primer piso, ordenó una pizza de un menú muy limitado, que era considerable y muy sabroso a un precio muy razonable, un personal amable y servicial, y esperamos nuestra próxima visita.

Aunque hay algunos asientos al aire libre interesantes y cómodos, el menú aquí tiene algunas limitaciones. Hay muy pocas opciones disponibles y las bebidas calientes no están bien anunciadas. El servicio es rápido y la porción es buena, pero el espacio interior es pequeño. Un buen lugar para reunirse, pero no en un lugar al que recomendaría quedarse tanto tiempo.

It's very rare in life two get the best of both worlds but The Woods has managed to put it off. It manages to combine a modern urban chic "place to be seen" environment combined with the atmosphere of your friendly local boozer.

They said they served gluten free pizza but initially gave us a gluten pizza, stating twice that it was gluten free. Upon challenging they realised it wasn’t.. when the gluten free pizza arrived it was burnt, tasteless and incredibly hard to cut/bite into. The worst gluten free pizza I’ve ever eaten!

I recently hired the function room here for my engagement party. I have been to the downstairs bar with friends many times before and it's always been great food and great service, which which was a main factor in booking for our party.

An eclectic mix of customers. Effortlessly cool. Great beers. Great pizza. Great staff. And a log burner in the winter. outdoor seating area. And a roof top balcony too. I totally love this place. It has just got the right vibe. Chap A is a cool place to live and this is the coolest place in it.

I attended here with my husband for a meal before the cinema, but even though a menu was displayed, there was no food!

Visited with two friends. One friend wanted peanuts, barman brought out a big dish - free. Well done !

I've been here a few times now, and each visit has been very pleasant. I spent a very nice evening here just recently. The Woods has a very relaxed and cosy atmosphere. Friendly service. A good range of beers. Prices are about the same as other Chapel Allerton bars. Really nice outdoor seating area, which I'm sure is great in warm weather (there are heaters otherwise). Clientele ranging from mid 20's to late 50's on my last mid-week visit. Only had bar snacks so far, but the olives were tasty. Possibly the best of the Chapel Allerton bars. Definitely somewhere I'd visit again.

I had the best pizza I’ve had the pleasure of eating in ages at The Woods. However, one of the bar staff was a bit rude. They lose a star for that.

Came here with friends and young kids, kept seeing amazing pictures pop up on social media for Sunday lunch. Booked ahead, got in easily we were the only people upstairs! They got the orders wrong and it was too late when people started eating (just two of them). Meal was nice/average, not particularly big portions or memorable. Not very child friendly, no kids menu, although the staff were nice. I’d go there again but not for Sunday lunch.

Really didn't have a great experience on Sunday evening.

We went here at start December with friends for Saturday lunch - quite quiet. Good service, good food (very large portions). No children’s menu that we could see, but the kids we were with were happy eating anything anyway. Would go again.

My housemates and I decided to have our Christmas meal here. The set menu was fab and only 15 pounds...

Good atmosphere when we visited on Wednesday night. However, the bartender was quite rude when insisting there was no cocktail...

We had a late lunch here on a Sunday. It was busy, but not packed, but the atmosphere was still relaxed. There is seating on two floors as well as an outside area (and a log burner on the lower floor). There's a good range of real ale / craft beers. Bar staff are knowledgeable but perhaps a little to laid back, it's friendly but not that efficient. There is an interesting range of pizzas and other 'gastro pub' dishes. The food was excellent and the service was as friendly and efficient as you would want it to be.

Great atmosphere and some great beers on the bar. A little more expensive than some bars but I don't mind paying if it's a good pint. Very lively bar and we sat outside as it was fairly warm. Great vibe too inside and the food being served looked good. Quite an age mix which was also great to see.

Went here for the first time on a friday night for food/drinks. We hadn't booked a table, it was very busy but there were a few available. There must have been a children's party on as it was mayhem, there were kids everywhere, climbing over the corner seats we were sat on which wasn't great!We decided what food we wanted, wasn't sure whether to order at the bar so waited a few minutes. Staff were walking past but no one acknowledged us so we asked a passing waiter if we ordered at the bar. He said yes. I went to order and was told they were only serving pizza and nothing else. A) The waiter could have told us that when we asked about ordering and B) a sign up to say this would have been helpful so we could have gone someone else instead of wasting time looking for a table, etc, etc.I wouldn't go back again out of principle based on this experience.

Great bar but can easily be missed during the day as it is set back and somewhat dark and could be made made more welcoming. Once inside its super. On an evening you can sit outside too which, when it's dark looks much more cosy and appealing.

went into the woods after a shocking experience in the new pizza restaurant next door Bucca da pizza ( shocking service ) food was great and staff so friendly. will go again

Visited today for coffee with a friend. What friendly staff , lovley relaxed atmosphere. The coffee was superb and lead us on to beer. Lots of advice on the choices. Will be back lots xxx

Great place for late night drinks...great location in center of Chapel Allerton with good bar staff and great selection of beers and drinks available

We came to have a few drinks and really enjoyed the music and ambient. We didn't order any food but we definitely will next time we are around.

Each year the bar coverts to an apres style bar, serving fondue and other traditional dishes! great wood fired pizzas too!

A surprise birthday party organised for me, at The Woods, by my family, surpassed my hopes and expectations! A reasonable sized function room with a fully stocked bar area and room for the DJ and decks!.... and dancing! It is situated on the top floor ( including outdoor balcony area) and was perfect for a group of 30+ family and friends...it would have easily accommodated the extra invitees, that hadn't been able to make it, to around 50.Really flavoursome buffet food pleased all the guests, and the service from the staff was attentive, friendly and very efficient. I would highly recommend as a venue for a celebration with family and friends!

Good food, drink, atmosphere. This venue has been changing hands for years and the current owners have finally cracked it.

We go here quite often for a quiet drink. Nice place to sit and eat inside or out. The food is great especially the pizzas from thier own pizza oven....

This is my new Friday night local in Chapel Allerton. Great sourdough pizza from a proper pizza oven and a small range of other dishes such as Brisket with mash/kale etc There is a good range of on tap and craft beer and wine but I'd love it even more if they could shake up a Margarita....they don't do cocktails as the servers are tending a very busy and buzzy bar.There is a huge wood burning stove and dogs are allowed on the ground floor. Great and friendly servers and it's a warm and comforting place somehow...not sure why but it is. The music in the background is really cool and there is something very comforting about being able to curl up with Brisket, a fat glass of red wine by the fire whilst picking out which dog to inappropriately pet...This venue has changed hands so many times but the jinx is broken. Woods is here to stay!
