Amazing place, very nice food, good ashompe for Leeds game.

Disappointing and disrespectful. Had a table booked for Saturday only to have it cancelled for a "larger booking". We'll take our money and future engagements elsewhere.

Restaurante lleno por lo general significa bueno. Reservé con 4 días de antelación para el almuerzo del domingo y tuve la suerte de entrar. Ambiente alegre y relajado y excelente cena asada; ¿qué no te gusta? Personal relajado, alegre y eficiente. No veo la hora de volver.

Una gran comida vegana en el Beck and Call hoy - pescado vegano con papas fritas. Generosa porción de tofu rebozado con papas fritas, guisantes machacados y salsa tártara. Delicioso! También recibió la oferta de comprar una comida y obtener el precio de la segunda mitad, lo que lo hizo muy valioso.

A great place for meeting up with friends and family and to enjoy great food and drink.

Just turned away from a so called pub because no tables available. I didn't want a table just a pint. A sad sign of how many pubs are going these days. Basically it's a restaurant

Visitamos el Beck and Call previamente para un asado dominical. Nos decepcionamos en esa ocasión, así que nuestras expectativas eran bastante bajas para nuestra próxima visita antes de Navidad. Elegimos la ubicación, ya que era un punto medio para un grupo de amigos para reunirse. Todos pedimos una gama de opciones de arranque para una variedad de opciones y velocidad de servicio. Nuestras bajas expectativas no se cumplieron cuando nos sirvieron cerdos al carbón en mantas, papas fritas de halloumi que sabían a cartón y mordeduras de vientre de cerdo que eran igualmente frías y masticables. No queríamos hacer una escena devolviendo la comida o negándonos a pagar por ella, pero deseamos reflexionar que lo hicimos. Probablemente adivinarás que no volveremos de nuevo y no recomendaría la comida allí o un lugar para visitar en los meses de invierno debido a la falta de calefacción aparte de un incendio en el medio del pub.

We visited the Beck and Call previously for a Sunday roast . We were disappointed on that occasion so our expectations were pretty low for our next visit pre Christmas. We chose the location as it was a midway point for a group of friends to meet. We all ordered a range of starter options for a variety of choice and speed of service. Our low expectations weren't met when we were served charcoaled pigs in blankets, cold halloumi fries that tasted like cardboard and pork belly bites that were equally cold and chewy. We didn't want to make a scene by returning the food or refusing to pay for it but wish on reflection that we did. You'll probably guess that we won't return again and would not recommend the food or a place to visit in the winter months due to lack of heating apart from a fire in the middle of the pub.

All good here. Even let our dog in. Great service too.

Wow los asados fueron los mejores que hemos tenido en cualquier lugar y el personal era tan atento y claramente sabía cómo atender bien a los clientes. Incluso el personal más joven estaba tan contento y seguro de que es realmente bueno ver que se hace tanto esfuerzo con los más jóvenes y se puede ver que también disfrutan de lo que hacen. Este es un gran lugar, ya que realmente atiende a todos bajo un mismo techo y tienen una gran área de juegos en la parte trasera para los niños también. Beck y Call siguen haciendo lo que tú estás haciendo.

Arrived promptly for our booking but food took over an hour to arrive meaning we were served 15 minutes before the kitchen closed and couldn’t have the full meal we had hoped for. Mains were okay but quite lacking/bland.

Cuando volví a casa revisé su página de reserva. Mira el menú de Navidad y dice disponible para reservar en la página de reservas. Las opciones en la página de reserva son mesa en interiores, deportes, bingo be&c o concurso. Así que opté por la opción de mesa interior. ¿Ninguna opción para reservar el menú de Navidad y nada sobre tener que reservar? ¿Es una estafa? ¿O simplemente muy mala comunicación / servicio? Muy decepcionante.

This is a great local to have but the bar service is not very good. None of the bar staff know who’s next so it’s easy for people to jump the queue.

Really nice pub and friendly staff. Fairly reasonable prices for food (had the Turkey Roast on a Sunday), but would say it wasn't quite as good as hoped for in a roast.

Excellent for a Sunday roast for a large group (we were 22 people including 4 babies). Nicky was extremely helpful in fitting us in on a busy Sunday, with limited notice, following a cancellation elsewhere. The service was really well managed as all of the food came out at the same time despite 6 seperate family orders to one table. The food was lovely and good portion sizes. Thank you to the whole team for a great experience it was much appreciated.

Beautiful pub, great atmosphere and very family / dog friendly. We had plenty of space for the adults, kids and dogs and the food was pretty good too!

Really decent Sunday roast, great beers and carries quite a few different breweries. Also incredible for families both inside and outside the pub. Will definitely be back!

Nice food, bad service…I rang a few days before to book a table but got told (in an unfriendly manner) that you can only book online. I don’t mind booking online but it’s one of those annoying systems where you have to wait to have your booking confirmed. I don’t always have time to wait! Overall the food was nice. Not amazing, but not terrible. There wasn’t much choice but we did visit on a Sunday and most places have a limited menu on a Sunday. I found the service to be terrible. There was a particular member of the bar staff who was extremely rude and unfriendly. Most of the staff looked like they couldn’t care less about us and had no desire to make us feel welcomed. It’s a shame because the food and the setting make for a nice place to visit…just a shame about the quality of the service.

Sunday lunch here is fantastic - had the veggie option. Really tasty. Staff are lovely too.

Sadly we got off to a bad start. From blue badge parking to front door meant moving all the cluttered tables and chairs out of the way for the wheelchair. No other access. Would have been impossible if anyone seated outside. Weds afternoon so really, really quiet. Stairs to the more interesting areas of the pub so limited in choice of seating. Disappointed with the menu choices so took ages to decide whether it was worth staying. We did because we had been looking forward to trying it. Food was mediocre and bit pricey for what is was. Buy one get one half price was misleading as its half price of cheapest meal. Staff nonchalant when asked about it. Just very disappointing all round 😞

Qué gran pub, primera vez para mí, pero elegiré este lugar la próxima vez para la comida y bebidas con la familia. Los pubs familiares son raros en estos días, así que buscamos uno hoy y nos aventuramos lejos del centro de la ciudad y tan contentos que lo hicimos. Mi pequeño le encantó la zona de juegos, a mí y a mi padre nos encantó la selección y la calidad de ales en el grifo, el personal era genial y la comida era perfecta también, todos teníamos el pescado y patatas fritas. Qué pub tan bien dirigido tengo que decir, y no suelo decir eso. Además el Arsenal y el City fueron derrotados y el Liverpool ganó, sin duda un día para recordar, Shame Norwich fue derrotado, pero oh bueno 😉.

Estaba buscando un pub que acepta perros para visitar en Leeds y se encontró con Beck & Call. Tuvo críticas decentes, así que decidió probarlo. Resultó ser una bolsa mixta. Las primeras impresiones eran buenas, parecía decente por dentro y estaba bastante ocupado, lo que suele ser una buena señal. También parecía un buen lugar para nuestro perro. Éramos 4 y pedimos un pequeño pescado con patatas fritas, 2 botas de pescado y 1 jamón y mostaza butty - todos con patatas fritas. El pescado con patatas fritas era bueno y las nalgas de pescado estaban bien, pero el sándwich de jamón y mostaza era decepcionante. Muy pequeño y sin duda sobreprecio por lo que era. Solo un pequeño trozo de jamón y muy soso. Podría hacer un sándwich mejor en casa en 2 minutos. Además, el menú indica que las culatas vienen en pan de ciabatta fresco - bueno, el pan ciertamente no era fresco y las rebanadas eran pequeñas. Pedido 3 latas de sprite y 1 de grosella negra cordial y agua del grifo. 75 por una lata y 2 libras. 20 por lo cordial, lo cual me parece ridículo. Sé que los pubs han subido los precios de los refrescos últimamente pero eso sigue llevándose la culpa. En general, no creo que volveríamos ya que no era una buena relación calidad-precio.

Regularmente venimos a este pub para comer y beber, pero en realidad reservamos para nuestra pequeña para tener su fiesta de bautizo allí y el pub atendido también. Fue una de las mejores experiencias de fiesta que hemos tenido. No solo fue impecable el servicio, la comida era excepcional y el personal que nos cuidaba era tan maravilloso y amable Todo el mundo que vino elogió la comida, el personal y el ambiente y no puedo recomendar este pub más. Gracias por todo.

Had to wait 45minutes for a meal for 3 to be severed (think they forgot) adult meals were served before child's which didn't go down well.Prepaid at bar beforehand so had a few bites left and went elsewhere.

Booked a Sunday lunch here for 15 people including children. Service was courteous and prompt once ordered from the bar. Food was tasty and served hot at the same time for everyone. Plenty of space outdoors (with heaters), less so indoors if you’re not eating. Very good beer selection including local ales. Not an upscale place, if that’s what you’re looking for, but family friendly and does what it does very well. Recommended.

Took my family there for a Friday, early evening treat. My daughter and I had Onglet Steaks , mine medium, my daughter’s rare. Both delicious . Complements to the kitchen. Children were delighted ,especially with the Chocolate Brownies . Everyone happy!

Good roasts, impressive Yorkshires, large side dishes, veggie haggis version woks well too, a good Sunday lunch. A bit odd being asked by card machine to add service charge when you pay at bar when ordering the food.

Visited with family. I like that there are indoor games for kids. Outdoors is ok but not great for young children Food was delivered quick. Kids meals were ok but the chicken strips were over cooked/ burnt and tasteless. Kids wouldn’t eat them. Burgers were ok, nothing special. Chicken and chorizo burger…where was the chorizo?? Super thin slice that you couldn’t taste and couldn’t taste the garlic mayo. A little bit y when it’s £15 for a burger Worth a visit with kids but food needs some work to make it have more flavour

Ran out of burgers, fish and chips They should put up a notice to let customers know before hand

Basic and expensive! Nice bar staff but food was average. Twice fried chips had seen the fat at least four times so were dry and tasteless. Smallest portion of peas/tartare sauce or curry EVER! Not for me thanks. Cheap gin and syrup gin tonic. 🤮

I've eaten here many times, while the pub and service is wonderful, the food seems to have changed and not in a good way. We came for a roast and childrens meal today , portions have definitely gotten smaller and more expensive. We sat with our plates finished for a good 15 mins, no one came to clear the table or even check how the meal was (I would have said something then, rather than review) and we ended up leaving without the ice cream for the childrens meal, because of the wait. I can't say it was the busiest I've ever seen it, so we couldn't fathom why. We were both left feeling a bit underwhelmed. That said, service from the team we encountered was great and usually is when we visit.

What a fantastic place this is! We can’t thank Nikki and all the staff at the Beck & Call enough for making Keith’s 70th birthday meal SO special. The food was wonderful, the Orangery was perfect for our large group and every member of staff put themselves out to make it a perfect event! It’s a great family venue and we will definitely be back soon.

Amazing pub children and pets welcome lots of activities in house. Play garden outside seating area with heating, Food omg superb the pizza 🍕 made outside ib the ovens is so popular ( I wonder why ) mmmmmmn my favourite. Anyway if you want a great day out and a bite to eat this is the place . Ian

Went for lunch on a Sunday. We had fish and chips,fries, 2 different pizzas. All the food was hot and nice. Everyone enjoyed what they had

Able to eat outside on a lovely sunny day... 3 fish & chips, which everyone enjoyed... My belly pork however wasn't rendered enough,a bit fatty and not crispy...

The best roast dinner in Leeds and an amazing selection of beers on draught too! There are loads of separate dining areas, so although it’s a big pub it doesn’t feel like it’s overcrowded.

Food quality has dropped off. Overpriced simple dishes. Food served out of order and st different times so we didn't eat together!

Went for some lunch, was disappointed that they have removed the steak pie from the menu. I went for the steak sandwich which has always been banging. It turned up and it was not what I was expecting. Was served in a soft white roll, used to be a ciabatta, bread was soggy and the meat is obviously a different cut to what they used before. It was truly terrible, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it! Also have to pay extra for chips which was a small portion.

Recommended by a friend. I don't normally listen. On this occasion. Glad that I did. The food was absolutely delicious. Every member of our group had a different version of the Sunday lunch and all agreed their meats were perfect. I had the vegetarian haggis which wasn't for my tastes. Too soft a texture for my palate, I prefer the crunch of a nut roast. That's just me though. Deserts were just as nice. The service was brilliant, but the food was a little slow to come out. I'm going to make an exception though as it was father's day. I will certainly be going back for Sunday lunch again. Hopefully that is enough of a seal of approval 👌 Also completely dog friendly which for our in laws is perfect.

Great pub. 1st time visit for an out the area family meet up. Staff very friendly and helpful esp nicky. Food was lovely yes menu limited on sundays but so are must pubs. Only issue i have is car parking places are a little tight esp at busy times. Highly recommended for a family get together and will deffo use ago

A lovely lunch here today. The bar staff were friendly, helpful and very accommodating. We were a party with a baby, a 1 year old and a 3 year old and we had plenty of room and high chairs as needed. The food was good…and i would deffo come here again. The bar staff were impressive with how helpful to people they were.

The Beck and Call is an amazing place for food, drinks, and also taking your family. Every time I've been, it has been phenomenal... Sunday Roast or a freshly made pizza from the pizza oven outside. Absolutely delicious😍

A great place for a meal and a drink and it's super kid-friendly.

We went for a kid's 1st birthday party and it was brilliant for the kids aged 1 to 10 and the adults. Food excellent 👌 highly recommend

Sooooo disappointed with Beck and Call, having seen the vegan options and never visited this establishment nor had my friend I was gutted to find when I tried to place our order at the til that the vegan fish and chips or tofu noodles we,re not avaliable! The other few options I can make at home tbf. We were looking forward to trying something new ut wasnt meant to be. The venue is very spacious and welcoming. Sadly, we will not be returning :-(

Nice pub with great atmosphere and the food is alright too. What is annoying is that you can't order one pint without being asked if you want to tip 10%, 20%, 30% or 40% - what ? ! ! ! for bring served one pint ? Another gripe is £7.95 (8 quid) for a fancy chip butty on curry night and £15.95 (16 quid) for a chicken masala - it's cheaper in a fancy Indian restaurant ! What planet is this place on !

Nice atmosphere, great service. The only negative comment is there is an odour of not cleaning well enough, the carpets in particular.

It’s a great pub and I wish I lived closer. I was served by Priya who was delightful and funny. I then got a pizza outside - made by Cameron. I am fussy with pizzas as I’ve been to Italy loads and tasted the real thing. This pizza was brilliant and I didn’t want it end.

We were able to get a table inside as a lot of customers were having drinks outside and absorbing as much Vitamin D as possible. The host Ben, gave us a choice as to where we'd like to sit. Not once had the "Host" mentioned the length of wait for the food, any allergies and even how it works to order food, seen as though it's the first time we've been. After looking at the menu, I waited in the queue for around 10-15 minutes, yes it was busy due to the weather. I got to the bar to order, only to be told that there's an hour wait for food. That was too long to wait, especially with a 6 year old child. Deciding to go elsewhere, I queried with the host, Ben, why no-one mentioned on seating us that it's an hour wait for the food. He advised that it's no longer an hour and that the staff haven't been updated about this?! (Why not?!) The host then stated that the food will take around 30-40 minutes as it's cooked fresh and that the normal time. Not impressed at all and definately not what I expected with the service, especially from all the talk from other customers. I'd like to give it a chance and come back, maybe when it's quieter, to try the food and and give another review but this visit was VERY DISAPPOINTING!

After attending in April and it being a bit of a shambles and leaving with a bitter taste, my partner emailed and Nikki was lovely enough to offer us to come back and try again. All I can say is, wow! The food quality was great, all dishes piping hot ( particular fan of the pigs and blankets) and served beautifully. The chicken and chorizo burger is gorgeous and flavoursome and sticky toffee pudding rounded it all off nicely. 13/10 for great food, nice family friendly setting and I’ll once again be singing the praises of beck and call 😊

Me and my mate enjoyed a couple of pleasent pints here the other evening, when it was just warm enough to sit outdoors. Decent range of ales at about £5 a pint, (sadly pretty standard for Leeds now), with friendly service. Seems quite popular.

The best pub for families in central Leeds. Has a playground area outside, has sports nights, quiz nights, good food, pet friendly, outside patio, dogs treats and plenty of car parking spots.

Really lovely place, we only had a light bite but will be back to try the food properly soon. Good options for vegans and veggies too!! Lots on offer and the atmosphere and decor were really nice, plus the kids area was fantastic.

Disappointed Sunday Lunch at Beck & Call We had a reservation for Sunday lunch at Beck & but were very disappointed with my experience. Despite having a reservation, we were greeted poorly and seated in a loud, family-oriented area with a dirty table. The wait for food was over an hour, and the food itself was overpriced and cold. The gravy was watery, the Yorkshire pudding was hard, and the roast potatoes and vegetables were average. There was no table service and the overall experience felt neglected. Manager sat near the entrance door doing her rotas not the best time or place. I would not recommend Beck & Call for Sunday lunch and suggest trying The Roundhay Fox instead, which offers better value for money in a more pleasant setting.

Service and beer on tap available is always great however the recent menu changes are quite disappointing. The food was below average. The new menu is a let down.

It's a great pub, good food served by nice staff. But Estrella went up to £6.10 a pint from £5.70 overnight. A little steep for a suburban pub I'd say.

Great place for football, the food is generally great too

Back visiting after 3 years living away from Leeds. Booked a table as always busy at Sunday lunchtime. Sat next to a table with two large dogs one of which growling at us as soon as we we were sat down. Staff member quickly moved us to another table. A dog does not purchase a meal, I do not expect to sit and eat food surrounded by dogs. Need to look at their dog friendly policy. People expecting to book dinner in restaurant should leave dog at home. Totally disappointed

This is a lovely location with so much potential. Unfortunately the food wasn't the best, it was their new menu Some came out slightly cold. However we'd waited 50 mins we didn't want to complain. We found some of the staff rude. I'm really disappointed as it was recommended to me, hopefully they were having an off day!
